Book One Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realise one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers. The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk.
But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done.
Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back. For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications.
Yeah right. Even a blind man could see how this would end.
Book Two Finally going from fake boyfriends to the real thing, Spencer Cohen and Andrew Landon are trying to take things slow. They know what they have could be something special and despite the flammable sexual tension, they don’t want to crash and burn.
Spencer is learning to open up and share the secrets of his past with Andrew. Afraid to put his heart on the line but unable to stop himself, Spencer knows he’s falling in love. Andrew is petrified of leaping in blindly, yet the slower they go, the faster they fall.
As they navigate their new relationship, Spencer worries Andrew will freak out when he takes on a new client. But it’s not a normal case, and Spencer soon realises all is not what it seems. When the job takes a downward turn, Spencer and Andrew work together to help the client. They’ll need to decide if they’re ready for the next step.
Book Three Learning to be in a committed relationship has been easy for Spencer. In fact, too easy. Andrew has fit into his life seamlessly. Spencer’s let go of his insecurities and hang-ups, and he and Andrew are enjoying where things are headed. For the first time in years, Spencer’s life is unbelievably perfect.
Andrew overthinks everything. So when Spencer gets a phone call from Australia, he’s certain Spencer will push him away. But instead of driving them apart, maybe it will solidify what they already have. Maybe Spencer will depend on Andrew more than ever.
Maybe the Spencer Cohen story will come full circle, and maybe, just maybe, Spencer will have the happily ever after he never thought possible.
Book Four - Yanni's Story When Yanni Tomaras is kicked out of his family home, his parents’ final words are religious insults and an order to never return. Homeless and desperate, he’s lured in by Lance—charming on the outside, an evil predator underneath—who abuses Yanni until he finds the courage to leave. Yanni should feel free. But by the time Spencer Cohen finds him, he’s resigned to being handed back to Lance and once again being caged by fear.
Starting school and a part-time job, Yanni begins to reclaim his life. But a love for silent films leads him to Peter Hannikov, a man with a kind heart but who’s twice his age. An unlikely friendship between them blooms into so much more. Neither man knows what he wants, at first. Finding out exactly what he needs is Yanni’s story.
“I’d spent years as a bird, caged with my wings clipped, tormented and beaten. I thought I’d escaped when I’d left my abuser, but in hindsight, I could see that I was still caged, this time by fear and self-doubt. Spencer and Andrew, and Andrew’s parents, opened the door to the cage that confined me. But it was Peter who taught me how to fly.”
This series includes trigger warnings. Reader discretion advised.
N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance. She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn't have it any other way.
She is many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who she gives them life with words.
She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things...but likes it even more when they fall in love. She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.
Spencer Cohen is a professional fake boyfriend. He’s good at it and prides himself in his professionalism. Until Andrew. For the first time in his life, he doesn’t want to be successful. The problem is that Andrew hired him to get Eli back, not to fall in love with him.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Adorable. These two hit it off right away
2) Andrew’s sweet and his confidence has taken a hit, but he wants answers from Eli and
3) A definite slow burn, but I’m excited for book two!
Loved how book two we get to see Andrew and Spencer decide fo start a relationship for real. Andrew wants to take things slow because of the mistakes he feels he made with his ex and Spencer agrees. But they can’t keep their hands off of each other. When Spencer is hired for a fake relationship again, he finds himself investigating a missing man named Yanni.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Watching these two fall for each other has been adorably fun
2) Jazz clubs, records, attempting cooking, and some teasing over Spencer’s Australian-isms and
3) Some very steamy scenes as these two realize they aren’t really taking things slow.

Quote: “But it’s more one word, like thisarvo.” He laughed and grabbed his keys and wallet. He opened the front door. “Tell me, do Australians really say crikey?” I walked past him. “No. As a general rule. Not ever.” We walked to his car. “What about g’day mate instead of hello?” “All the time. But usually just g’day or mate. We might say g’day, how’re ya goin’? or hey mate. Generally not g’day mate together. Sometimes but not always, unless you’re taking the piss.” “So you need to have a lobotomy to be Australian?” I stared at him over the roof of his car. “I am truly offended.” He laughed. “No you’re not.”
Loved, loved, loved this one! As Spencer and Andrew find their footing, new friends are made and a surprising phone call changes Spencer’s life in a way he never expected.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) Love proclamations in awkward moments
2) Learning to speak Australian and the whole hotel bed thought process 🤣🤣 and
3) The tattoo, the piano… I couldn’t stop smiling. A great conclusion to an adorably sweet trilogy.
I loved Yanni’s story more than I expected. I love that it began where we first met him, in the back of the car with Spencer as he’s trying to hold himself together and falling apart. I loved seeing him slowly build his life back together after the horrible situation he escaped from and I loved his friendship with Peter that turned into something more.
Reasons I Recommend:
1) The absolute patience and kindness of Peter from how he made him feel safe, to how their friendship blossomed
2) Yanni’s therapy sessions, his communication with Peter, the slow process of him trying to take control of his life and
3) How amazing the Landons are and how Spencer saved his life.

Quote: “Ah, I remember those days.” “Like the olden days?” He gasped. “I’m not that old.” I laughed. “I’m just kidding. What did you do this afternoon?” “Fixed a wheel on the wagon, sent a telegram, listened to the gramaphone. You know, olden-day stuff.”
PS — not a fan of the daddy kink and it gives me the creeps with the daddy/son discussion but this was well written; really showed Peter’s caring, protective side without more.
First thing is first- Joel Leslie- Wow!! The range of accents Male & Female.. so impressive.
I didn’t feel right counting all the Spencer Cohen books toward my goal since they were tiny - so the reviews as such:
Both of these book series were not my favorite tropes - fake dating & then daddy kink.
SC- I struggled in the first book because so much of it was them fake dating- and so much insecurity- BUT I still enjoyed the characters and devoured the other 2 books in the series.
With Andrew’s constant self doubt I totally thought we were going to hate his parents - but I adored them!! NR walker wrote the best supportive hilariously perfect parents.
The series takes place in such a short period of time & we get a lot of development- but the ending part of the SC series jumps 2 years forward & leaves us in a sweet spot that I hoped we would continue on in Yannis Story- but we didn’t.
Still overall a good read & I will think about about the characters in this series again no doubt
4.25 ⭐️
Yannis Story:
Okayyyy so this book. Wow!!!! I can understand that Daddy Kink could turn some off to this story & while it’s not my thing & I gasped giggled and clutched my pearls during a couple parts - I didn’t mind it. The advancement of Peter & Yannis relationship was so precious & wonderful. I absolutely adored the friend group Yanni made & the total acceptance by both sides of their support network. Helen & Allen are a treasure!!!
I was truly sad when this story came to an end.
4.75 ⭐️ out of 5 for Yannis story
4.5 over all for the series
I so wishhhh there was one more book in this series. I appreciated the where are they now wrap up, but my greedy heart needs more to continue where they all left off! All these characters deserve their time in the sun. Bring us back Ms Walker!
And I don’t mean the story. I mean the atrocious editing. Well, the lack of editing, mostly.
It was baaaaaaaad.
Other than that, I loved the story and the characters. It was very emotional, and things got really heavy, but there was always enough lightness to counteract all of that. It made for an enjoyable read.
Well, enjoyable as it could be when it was full of inconsistencies and errors.
I really did enjoy this one. In general I find NRWalker tremendously sweet, but in this series it wasn’t a bad thing. I loved both Spencer and Andrew. Their story was my favorite, but I enjoyed Yanni’s also. I took a few days off in between finishing Spencer and Andrew’s story and starting Yanni’s because I needed the separation.
I cannot say enough about this book without rambling. I highly recommend it to anyone who is working to overcome relationship trauma as a result of abuse. The author crafts his works to soothe the literary mind. The narrator embodies the emotion and triumph of the characters. LOVED IT!! RM
Overall I loves the Spencer Cohen books. Yanni’s book was my least favorite but also nice for giving more depth to what happens with him after he meets Spencer…
Perfect end to an amazing trilogy of books. I love these 2, like really love them and, although you could kind of guess they'd always get their HEA, the fact that there was no unnecessary break up or 'couple-drama' made me love this even more. The 3 books are about them growing as a couple and not some random 'must-sell-more-books-so-let's-create-friction' plot from the author. I love N.R. Walker and this is one of the things I love about her. She writes what I seem to want to read (that might not make sense to you but it makes sense to me!) and, if there is drama then it fits in perfectly with the stories she's creating.
Rating a very solid 4 🌟s for the entire bundle. It was so much better than I expected. The characters and story had depth and were well fleshed out.
I read all 4 within a bundle. Bundles are the best. I was surprised by how much I liked this. I binge buy, so I often don't remember blurbs or why a book was bought. I'm not sure why, but I thought it was a series about a detective. I was a little confused at 1st but was very quickly dragged into the story. The writing was very solid on all fronts.
Book 4 was very different from the 1st 3, but I found it was well worth the emotional journey. There are potentially trigger issues especially those of abuse.
