As a wave of grisly, ritualistic killings sweeps across Los Angeles, the police have only one lead – a mysterious girl caught at one of the crime scenes. But something’s wrong with her beyond the feral rage in her eyes. It’s something deep inside her. Taken to prison, the guards and police learn she hides terrifying secrets even the prison walls can’t contain. Powers to move objects and compel people. To invade thoughts and dreams with grotesque horrors. And to raise the dead.
And she’s picking them off, one by one.
From the best-selling author of ‘Hell: The Possession and Exorcism of Cassie Stevens,’ comes a terrifying new tale of supernatural horror. Sometimes evil has a child’s face.
Hey All. I’ve revised my bio yet again so it doesn’t sound like I’m describing myself in third person. I’m an entertainment attorney (I draft contracts for movies), writer, filmmaker, and former Marine. I write scary books and laugh-out-loud spice-free rom-coms.
What if pure evil had a child's face? That is the question posed to the readers in this dark horror read. This book started off with a bang and never stopped delivering the horror around every chapter. If you are already scared of demons, this will make you leave the lights on when you go to bed at night. Recommend reading in a salt circle with a side of holy water.
Two twins are separated at birth (Hannah and Natalie) to be raised by two different families. Both girls have unique abilities as they get older - when they are young they both are able to enter a "dream" state which is like an out of body experience but has more of a twist and they both end up meeting in this "dream" state. Other abilities come into play as time goes on as they both have telekinetic tendencies which they are able to make things happen when they get upset or angry, but they also both know things before they happen.
Eventually when the girls are teenagers events happen to bring both families together and the sisters are reunited, but things are not what they seem as both sisters find out that they share another unique bond which is in their bloodline and it is wrapped around an evil entity that is wanting to lay claim to not only their bodies but their souls!
Thoughts:
This book just drew me slowly into the storyline of both the sisters. The author goes into great detail with each sister and the family she was raised in. I became entrenched and intrigued with each family as the author slowly builds up the life of each girl and what each girl goes through as time goes on with their abilities.
There is some timeline jumping though from one era to another, but the author, Tom Lewis, is able to write it smoothly which kept the suspense, mystery and tension notched up as I made my way through the storyline.
The last half of the book is saturated in demonic themes, satanic rituals, and satanic worshippers which sends this story into overdrive straight down into the dark recesses of hell itself!
I became so involved in reading the story that time just slipped away from me and I would find that hours had gone by while I was entrenched in the story. I had a couple or so nights that I stayed up past the "witching hour" as I just could not lay the book down!
Another excellent spooky tale by author, Tom Lewis and looking forward to whatever else he has in store for us readers down the line! You are going to want to leave the light on for the last half of the book as the shadows in your room might come alive!
As usual Mr.Lewis scared the pants off of me. Not many books actually freak me out enough to make me hide under the covers and make sure no limbs are hanging out of bed but his sure do! Yikes! 🤯
This book was everything I could have asked for in a supernatural sense. Two sisters separated at birth needed to fulfill a prophecy to begin a ‘New Dawn’. This had everything from creepy ass kids running around in white robes, feasting on the flesh of humans, to demon possession, and Satan himself. This was a fantastic read, so dark and creepy, involving two sisters with an undying love for each other. This was a hell ride from beginning to end, and one which I highly recommend. This is my first Tom Lewis book but definitely will not be my last!!
Really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Kept me enthralled to the end. It ended too quickly. This book could actually continue. I still wanted to know what happened to "the children" and "the girl".
This book covered so many horror genres that it was quite mind blowing. It encapsulated, brilliantly, a twisted version of the 1960s hippy counter culture that spawned the Manson cult. Romanian vampire folklore, Demonology, Frankenstein's monster, the Hebrew Golem and on to the ritual of Christian exorcism. This tale covered all of that and more. What a read!
I absolutely loved this book it's a real page turner once you start you can't stop there's twists and turns galore if you like a good horror with a bit of detective work there too then this is the book for you, very highly recommend will definitely be reading some more of Tom Lewis's books.
Thank you Tom Lewis for a very scary story that kept me up quite a few nights reading. Excellent characters and story line that I enjoyed from start to finish. Looking forward to reading your other stories.
This story is so much MORE than the exorcist!!!. It will definitely, definitely make you believe!!. It was interesting, entertaining and makes you feel like OH S__t , and makes you want to go to CHURCH.
One of the best horrors I have read in a long time. Could not stop reading, the characters were all well rounded and enjoyable to follow, the book kept me on my toes with its intensity. I Highly recommend this book
Creepy, fast paced adventure...would make a great movie
This story draws you in immediately. It has believable characters and plenty of supernatural action. Two sisters share abilities to reach each other in an alternate dreamlike reality before they have ever met. But that is only the start. A classic good vs evil battle ensues with not only a battle for the girls but for also the entire town.
I really enjoyed Hell: The Necromancer; it reminded me of Carrion Comfort in some ways. The characters are likeable and well-developed, the plot is quite epic, good versus evil, evil walking the earth and preying on the weak.
One of my favorite aspects of this book was reading about what the demon was doing inside the human body, and why. I've watched many an exorcism movie and not realised why the body is bent, fractured and levitated. Being able to read from the viewpoint of a demon was very exciting for me!
I was gripped from the very beginning, there's no skimming due to lack of action. It's a real page-turner. Quite a gruesome and scary read in places. I liked how the story progressed and how it ended.
It's the 70s in LA and a series of gruesome murders is plaguing the city. The only link or lead is a girl, Natalie found at the crime scene. But this isn't any young girl, she has the power to reincarnate and raise the dead back to life and she has imperilled her soul to reanimate her brother lost in the Vietnam war. Meanwhile her sister, Hannah both of whom were separated at birth by a mother who gave them up knowing the powers they both had is desperately trying to save her from an unnameable evil. This was a brilliant story of possession, exciting and gripping from the first pages, a great read for Halloween.
When I first bought this book to read on my Kindle app, I had no idea what to expect. I was not acquainted with the author, Tom Lewis, nor with any of his other books or short stories.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It is full of gore and psychological horror and features two sisters whom (I hope) will be featured in some of Lewis’s other stories. While not for every reader, horror fans should not be disappointed!
I enjoyed this book so much, my best read in years and I read a lot. The storyline is amazing, the characters brilliantly described so that you can picture them in the flesh. I could not put this book down and the ending was as it should be, no silliness, but the right outcome of sadness, gore and finality. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves horror, it has everything. Looking forward to reading more from this author
Two young girls that share a special bloodline discover they're actually sisters. Their mother is living in a mental institution hiding from Satan himself. The girls discover their powers and get tangled up in the cult of worshipers of the man. One sister gets possessed by a fallen angel and the other will try to save her!
This book is like a 1000 miles of bad road, just when you think it can't get worse... it gets worse, when you read this like I did at night in the dark, you'll be gripped by fear, this story is easily one of the best I've read, I loved every moment of it. Full of twists and will leave you feeling unnerved, slightly chilled and wanting to know what happens next, thank you Tom Lewis great work my friend, can't wait to read more of your books
brilliant. what would you give to see that loved one again
We all have someone we would give anything to see again. In Tom Lewis’s Hell: The Necromancer we see what one young girl will do to see her brother again even if it costs the lose of everyone else she loves
The book is full of everything gore, horror possession and love
This book was a little confusing with the going back and forth in time however it was scary as HELL! Hopefully we’ll see a continuation of this hellish nightmare!
