No one said the end of the world would be easy, especially when your former lover is lost in the middle of it.
Paul Madison is on a business trip to Pittsburgh when the zombie outbreak erupts. As the living dead fill the streets, he abandons the idea of sheltering in place and attempts a six-hundred-mile trek to his fully stocked cabin in the New Hampshire mountains. Part of his reasoning to head north is his concern for his former wife Alissa, who is a nurse at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
Though Paul expected the journey to be dangerous, he had no idea of the nightmares he would encounter. Will he make it to his mountain cabin before society collapses around him? Will the strangers he encounters along the way be more of a liability than an asset? Will he find out what happened to Alissa?
Follow Paul on his adventure in the middle of the zombie apocalypse.
This book is a spin-off of the Nurse Alissa vs. the Zombies series.

A superb action-packed zombie read. I totally loved it right from the beginning. There is nothing slow about this book it's a fast-paced page-turner that never stops. The characters are amazing, brave and very likeable, and Gojira the boxer is the bravest and the most loveable. It's gory, and it raised my anxiety levels a few times, but it was well worth the read.
A group of survivors journey through the zombie apocalypse
This is a group of survivors journey through the zombie apocalypse. A great cast of characters and an action packed storyline. Paul was on his way to the airport when it all began. His ex-wife Alyssa who worked at an ER in Boston was working at the ER that night. He owns a cabin in New Hampshire in the middle of the woods that is stocked for supplies weapons and ammo. In the nurse Alyssa Series his ex-wife Alyssa and a group of survivors are also heading toward the cabin on their adventures. You’ll have to read that series to find out what’s going on in that one. Paul and a group of survivors are beginning their journey of survival. Read on and find out who makes it and who doesn’t. There are characters your love and if you characters you would like to kick squarely in the nether regions. As with all of Scott bakers books, you become embedded with the group as you read like you were following along and surviving with him. You become invested in the characters and want to know what’s going to happen. So read on and find out how the beginning of Paul and his groups adventure starts. Looking forward to book number two.
A zombie apocalypse strikes worldwide, death and destruction follow
Paul is determined to get to his fully stocked and provisioned cabin in New Hampshire. Along the way he rescues survivors and adds them to his trek to safety. The small group has too fight its way through hordes of deaders across the countryside. With the east coast completely overrun with snarling, hungry animated corpses, they have to make the coast and grab a boat. Some really spectacular fights cost some of their party. One will be missed, the other not so much! Interesting characters fighting their way through the apocalypse to a perceived safety, the storyline is fairly typical zompoc fare. There are some rough spots and some missing proofreading, but it's still a good read and has left me curious enough to continue the story.
It is so great when a spin off is as good as the original.. The Chronicles of Paul follows Paul and the people he joins up with along the way as they try to make their way to his cabin near North Conway NH. Not all members of his little group are team players. Once I read the last word in book 1, I immediately downloaded Book 2 and kept on reading late into the night. It's a easy read with lots of action, and a touch of a budding romance. Scott Baker is from my neck of the woods and I like that he writes about the area. I am ready for Book 3. Oh and you must read the original, Nurse Alissa vs. the Zombies series. You won't be disappointed.
Really enjoyed this book. I haven’t yet read the Nurse Alissa books and I will remedy that very soon. This book was fast paced and full of characters that you could love and one that you knew early on that you were going to be able to hate. Other than some grammatical errors to do with editing, this one was really great. I was surprised when I reached the end as I didn’t think I had been reading long enough to hit the end!
I like Paul better than Alissa. Alissa didn't go out of her way to help others. She chalked it up to they wouldn't make it & probably would take her with them. Paul on the other hand would help. If there was a way to save someone, he was going to try. It didn't matter what the odds of them surviving long meant. He's more human and because of that, those who made it in hiis group too are good humans, that look out for one another.
The story was an epic adventure with no rest for the living or dead. The descriptions were perfectly gory, the characters well developed, and I love to see how things originate from different angles. Well done! I highly recommend it to anyone. You don't have to have read the other series to follow this at all, but you'll eat to read it all when you've read this.
Omg only a man would write that into the story. Anyway I loved this spin-off. This story had all of the fast pace action that we expect from this author. If you like realistic characters and storylines , then I recommend this author. So get his books and leave your reviews!
I did really love this book! It kept me amused from the start to right until the very end! Was a bit gutted it was finished! A great selection of characters, I love the style & overall feel of this! A really brilliant zombie, end of the world adventure! I will for sure look for more by this writer! Great stuff! I do recommend!
After reading the Nurse Alissa series I have often wondered about Paul. I’m excited to find out if Paul faces any of the same trials that Alissa has faced. I recommend reading both series.
The story follows Paul, Nude Allysa's estranged husband, and his group as they escape the cut and head for his cabin in New Hampshire. As usual, great characters and excellent storyline.
I love reading Paul’s side!! I like the other characters in this book! I know it’s zombies but the author still add funny comments in the story! I can’t wait for the next one!!
I loved the chronicles of paul.its amazing I really like how Paul is your average guy trying to make it to where he hopes his family will be and helping those along the way. Eagerly awaiting the next Paul book.
This is a very exciting story. It is the beginning of the apocalypse and the number of undead is steadily climbing. A small group of people band together to sell safety. The odds are not in their favor. I can't wait for the next one.
An interesting spinoff based into the same world as Nurse Alissa vs the zombies, focusing on her ex husband. I'm not sure if I like Paul's character, but it was a good read and look forward to seeing what happens with this group. Wondering if they will eventually meet up with Alissa's group?
I really enjoyed reading about Paul and the other survivors he meets along the way. I can tell already, that this spinoff from Nurse Alissa vs The Zombies is going to be a winner. There's plenty of action and excitement all throughout the book. Looking forward to the next one.
Action filled fight for your life reading ahead. In the version I read there are a few editing misses, but not enough to kill the story. On the predictable side but entertaining and keeps the pages turning.
Another character driven, emotionally charged tale of surviving during the rise of the dead. It was great reading more about Paul and his battles to reach Alissa.
I need more of Paul's story. As fast paced and gripping as the Nurse Alissa series. Hopefully you will write more about Paul and his group of survivors.
