Eclipsing the Wind

Rate this book
Eclipse had given Logan to Victor. Dormiat and Ashtar were better off for it. Central Liberty was better off for it. The entire world was better off with Logan out of Eclipse’s life and back in Amy’s. Now, she was sitting alone at the council table, ten years later, flipping a coin around in her fingers. It was one out of hundreds the kid had left in the pouch beside her. He wanted her to go, and she was tempted. The coin slipped from her grasp and bounced to a stop on the table. That gave her an idea! She snatched it back up and flipped it in the air. Tails, she would stay, but heads? Heads meant Eclipse Monohue was returning to Holux.

If you are going to create a world, it might as well be one that tells us everything about its own history, and the nature of its different kingdoms. This is the fourth book of a series, all well written, and it ties up everything and gives an overview of the future. Issues that are resolved include her relationship with her father, her love interest, and what she should do with her extraordinary power. It's a great series and I recommend all four!

Thrilling!!

This book has a well- developed plot with lots of twists and intrigue. Though there is some violence it is tempered perfectly with steamy romance. The characters are fully fleshed and compelling and the dialogue is believable. Eclipse is a real kick-ass heroine who is strong and smart and knows what she wants- Logan! This was my first read by the author and I plan to check out the other books in the series. We’ll worth your time!

Twists and Turns

I did not read the first 3 books in the series. This is not the type of book I normally would read. It starts off with Eclipse being a horrible state of mind and physical condition. Sean her big brother decides it will be a good idea to get Eclipse out of the funk by sending her on a mission with Duke and her brother. There’s a lot going on, in addition to Eclipse’s dysfunctional romantic relationships.

A clue to the 5th book?

I started this series thinking there were four books. As things started to wrap up, I was completely surprised by the last minute clues to a fifth book! What I really love about this story is that it is so relatable. You feel the struggle he characters go through so intensely. I can’t wait until the next one comes out.

Remember whoever makes the best coffee is the one you love.

Strap yourself in for another breathtaking adventure. It's difficult to summarise what happens in this instalment because so much happens and I'm afraid I wouldn't do it any justice. But I will try. At the beginning, Eclipse goes on a diplomatic mission to rebuild two countries that have been devastated by war with her father Victor and Chrosia. Once she succeeds with that and back in Central Liberty she learns that the whole council has been invited to Chrosia. She hasn't been invited but suspecting this is a trap she portals in and immediately reunites with Logan. From there we go on a thrilling rollercoaster ride of action and emotion as an attempt is made on Logan's life and we meet the Chrosian underground rebellion. It culminates in a horrific battle between Eclipse, Amy and Victor. But even with Victor overthrown and Chrosia split he is still a dangerous man. In the middle of all this there is the fragile, will they or won't they relationship between Eclipse and Logan. A spanner is thrown into all that with the return of a loved one who Eclipse thought was long dead. A lot of questions are answered and loose ends are tied up making this feel like an end. But with Eclipse experiencing something unexpected in the last chapter and some startling revelations in the epilogue it's safe to say there is more to come. As you would expect from the author the writing is perfect making the world of Asylum come to live. I can't wait to read the 5th book. In fact as soon as I have written this review I'm getting it.
