What’s a woman supposed to do after watching her cheating ex's wedding implode?
Apparently, the answer is get fired.
And evicted.
And move to another state to start over as an independent woman who would rather stick her tit in a beehive than get into another relationship.

It’s fine. Really.
The only thing messing with my new, badass single girl life is an encounter with my childhood crush.
Fine, maybe I was the one who suggested some bedtime fun. What I didn’t do was invite him to come along on a holiday weekend. I have Kasha to thank for that.

Now, I’m doing my best to hang onto my determination to stay single. It’s hard. Pun intended.
With Kasha and Henley along, things were destined to be chaotic, but some things I didn't see coming.
Like a garbage skunk with killer aim.
A broken member that bears a resemblance to a crazy straw.
And a man focused on winning my heart.

Although this story follows the style of the first book, I found it boring and repetitive, especially since the fabric of our real lives has changed so drastically. I like irreverent humor as much as the next person but this wasn't funny at all, IMO.

In addition, neither of the two couples had any semblance of chemistry. It was just so anticlimactic.

THAT SAID

I mourn that CM Owens (pennames: Kristy Cunning & S.T. Abby) is no longer in this world but take solace in the fact that her words, thoughts, and ideas live on. She's held a special spot in my heart ever since I discovered her MindFu*k series and was heartbroken to learn of her death. May she rest in peace.

Going into this book, I was filled with a variety of emotions that I really could not put into words. Excited about the book while also apprehensive about opening it, knowing that this would be the last time I read a new book by Owens was a type of bittersweet heartbreak I had not anticipated.

While F*ck It is a stand-alone novel, I highly recommend reading Worth It first.

It won't take long for you to utter, "F*ck It" to adulthood. Laughing out loud is likely to make you pee your pants, and when this fictional world fades and reality reappears, you'll whisper, "Worth It."

I was immediately immersed in this world as though no time had passed. It’s a testament to the masterfully crafted stories Owens and Shade deliver.

Sicily started off all sorts of stabby with a side of "premeditated," and I was cheering her on because, well, I too can be an adorably homicidal woman. I adored every Stabby, not all Cunning, piece of her.

Lydia was in the midst of beginning a new life; new town, new job, new beginning. She was sassy and extra witty. I loved how unique each of the characters were. Even with their sass and awkwardness, each had a unique quirkiness that made them each stand out.

I loved the dual point of view from Lydia and Sicily, it was like 2 stories in one, each character falling in love, and we got a front row seat. Never feeling as though one overwhelmed the other, an impeccable balance of both storylines.

Sicily and Anderson had chemistry that had been simmering between them since they met, but for many reasons, they placed one another on a "do not touch" shelf for years. Now they were working side by side and the fuse that had been burning between them could no longer be ignored.

Lydia and Simon had a tension that could be felt in the air around them, a bit of a second chance for them. The chemistry was palpable, but it seemed that the undulated path to happily ever after was the way it was meant to be for them.

Two couples falling in love, each with their own obstacles. Other people’s opinions were only a fraction of it. They had their own inner thoughts to contend with as well, and each had a potent effect on my heart. I’m in awe of the way this duo crafted this exceptional blend of laughter and feels.

F*ck It is so much more than a fictional world filled with awkwardness and endless laughs; it is a bittersweet goodbye and a beautiful tribute to an author that made an impact on readers with every word she wrote.

Stop what you are doing and go read this book! I didn't think another book could make me laugh out loud as much as Worth It, but F*ck It did it!

This is the perfect addition to the Yama Yama series! In book one, we got to see Kasha and Henley find love - and Lydia get revenge.

Now it's Lydia's turn along with another story (because there's another story that needs to be told) and a bunch of "Oh sh*t" moments. Even Roger makes an appearance or two!

If you have ever had "that friend" or if you are "that friend", then you NEED TO READ THIS!

This book has the spice, the fun the drama and a hilarious as it was, it didn't take away from the heartfelt moments. Everything meshed well together.

As much as I love a good laugh, I need the story to have substance as well. S.M Shade and C.M. Owens gave me everything I needed to keep me glued and desperately wishing that it would never end!

Yama Yama! It took me far to long to read this one especially because Worth It is one of my favorite books in the entire world. But I’m glad I finally picked it up because not only did I laugh like a hyena but I adored the book. I didn’t realize that this one would feature two different characters and while I was slightly disappointed when I realized it did, my disappointment didn’t last long because I loved Sicily and Lydia. Not as much as I loved Bobby Jo though! Her and her voodoo dolls 😂

On a more serious note, this book does have a redemption arc that I appreciated as it gave layers to this funny story. I wasn’t expecting Anderson to change completely from the way he was in Worth It but I loved seeing the change. Would I trust him myself? NOPE. But this is a fictional story and seeing the change in is character was great.

If you want to laugh out loud make sure to read Worth It and then this one. You won’t be disappointed!

This fantastic comedy duo always knows how to get me to chuckle. Whether it’s the ridiculous character shenanigans, the humorous banter, the situational comedy, and the all around hilarity, F*ck It by C.M. Owens and S.M. Shade is just a lot of fun…and it’s hella funny.

I loved this return to the Yama Yama world- the friendships really make this story for me. The ensemble dynamic gives this story a lot of relatability amidst all of the craziness, and in particular I was excited for Lydia to get her HEA. Like the first book we have multiple stories in one- so we not only get Lydia’s romance, but Sicily’s too. It’s not a narrative approach I normally love, but these two authors write it with ease- dual narratives that seamlessly fit into one. And Siciliy and her stabby bravado were so delightful. The whole crew show up in rare form, and it was like I was right back to where I first met them. They are all pretty sassy and quirky in their own way- Shade and Owens can right such memorably unique characters. I loved how easy it was to fall back in place- it had me feeling full of nostalgia and admiration all at once.

While this certainly can be read as a stand-alone, Worth it is definitely the best place to start- and great intro to these characters and it’s even funnier. We are so fortunate to get to return to the world and voice of these two authors - and every bit of laughter had a bit of bittersweet joy to it knowing that the laughter is also a heartfelt tribute to an author we lost too soon. What a gift it is to be in Yama Yam again.

✨A TOP READ OF 2022✨

Easily finished this book in the span of 24 hours..... it was too funny to put down! The story is told about 2 couples. 2 POV. Both FMC POV. I always love a good brother's best friend story, and this one was a fantastic one! This book was so much fun to read. (and I have been reading a lot of dark books lately so this came at the perfect time). Definitely in the top reads list for the year! LOVED IT!

Bittersweet to know this is the last time we will see this dynamic author duo in action. RIP. ❤️‍🩹

Standalone?

Yes, this story could be read as a standalone since it’s the story arc of side characters from book one… but you will not get near as much satisfaction and understanding if you don’t read/refresh with book one (2017.) I’d HIGHLY recommend treating this as a duo, not SA, because the authors do not rehash book one’s history at any length. <<—— I personally appreciate that because I don’t want a fresh book to be weighed down with rehash.

Two Stories In One

So, when I realized that this was a dual female POV with two interconnected but separate romances, I was skeptical. I mean how the fuck does one pull that off within 277 pages? Surprise 🎉 it worked. Both arcs played off each other and came full circle because the authors kept it simple~stupid. No forced plot devices. Just a simple story of hijinks, relationship dynamics, and fun times within a circle ⭕️ of friends and lovers.

This isn’t the book if you want a huge story…. An in-depth plot… an epic love journey… suspense… or seriousness. It’s the story you read when you want to sit back and allow the crazy to wash over you like a blanket that’s stitched and sized all wrong but that you just adore for it’s quirky warmth.

The authors continue to do what they do best… deliver devilishly clever smirk-inducing scenes and lines..

Not only is he gifted, but he can move like a stripper whose rent is due.

“Don’t hurt yourself,” Henley warns. “You put your back out last time, remember?” “Psh, I can still drop it like it’s hot.” Kasha snorts. “It’ll be cold by the time you pick it back up.”

Magic Moments

I’ll have to curve my review as to not give away the scenes, but there’s a dickccident here that’s just everything. And, yes, it’s possible. I know someone it’s actually happened to 😱🤭🤣

Missing The Big Ball Drop

I enjoyed the book. I laughed a few times. I smirked a lot. I never felt bored. I think the book was the perfect length, and it balanced each arch from start to finish. The final scene could’ve been a little more detailed… to me, it was too wham/bam over to be funny. Otherwise, my only other complaint is that there wasn’t that magic moment when the ball drops in the storyline … that awww or satisfying moment. It made the storyline come off as flat?!? Even with novelty reads for the entertainment, there still should be that one big scene for each main character that’s UNFORGETTABLE <—— for me, that’s the final star in a five-star book. Without that moment, I can’t give this more than 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Sitting here writing this review is one that I am honored to write, and yet it's also heart piercing. There will never be any comparison to the writing styles of CM Owens and SM Shade when it comes to ROMCOM's. And there will never be any comparison to the craziness that was created when CM Owens & SM Shade combined.

This book was the companion to the perfectly written WORTH IT. I never laughed so hard while reading till I found that book, and now I can say that F*CK IT has lived up to if not surpassed the crazy that was WORTH IT. The YAMA YAMA series has earned its spot as my favorite ROMCOM. The characters that these two authors created are the perfect amount of crazy that makes you want to keep reading. The flow of the writing between Owens and Shade is so perfect that you are able to read so smoothly thru the story, that you can't tell where one authors writing started and where one's began.

Normally I find myself not wanting to finish a book, because I don't want a story to end. With F*CK IT, I found that I didn't want it to end for a totally different reason. I wanted to keep reading, I wanted the story to keep going, like Thelma and Louis off the cliff. If the story kept going, and the story didn't end then the goodbye wasn't completely for real.

Another great story continues on with the lives of Lydia and Sicily. I loved this book too, and although it was not as outrageously funny as the first book, it still has plenty of those moments to make you smile. The best was right at the end when Anderson got his payback on Kasha. Yama, Yama

I did not realise when I read these two books that this would be the last book Ms Owens would ever write. That is a loss to the literary world. My condolences to her family.

Crazy? Yes.

Ohh I laughed so much while reading this 😂

Even though it's tamer than Worth It, this book definitely didn't disappoint 🔥

When you have a domme teacher, paddle whips, a crooked dingaling, a lost bikini bottom, needles in voodoo dolls, and oddly shaped cakes, you know the book is taking you on one hell of a ride 😂🔥

Sicily and Lydia's stories were the perfect icing on top of the proverbial cake 🥰 I loved getting to know them more and reading about all of the ridiculous things that they're doing. I especially loved the scene in the office. It's a harassment suit waiting to happen 🤭😂 Anderson didn't stand a chance from the day 😂

Do you ever read a book that makes you laugh until you cry or at risk of wetting yourself? This book is that… EEK.

Plan for a story that isn’t just about a single couple. You get a crew of friends and frienemies that are diverse as well as hilarious. This book feels like a continuation of “Worth It”. You probably don’t have to read it but I STRONGLY recommend it. This book gives you the best couples.

OMG I want to talk about all the funny parts because they are brilliant but I won’t. You need to experience it for yourself. Wink. I will say this book is more than laughs. It has beautiful friendships, wonderful experiences, and insightful moments. Ummm the spicy parts are original. I didn’t know it was possible to feel the heat and want to die laughing at the same time.

My heart is full from this book. I hope you all feel the magic of this telling and enjoy the humor like I did.

Shannon thank you for finding a way to release this book. You gave us all such a gift. Christy… thank you for what you have brought to the indie book world. Your words will live on and bring me comfort through the chuckles and tears. Until we meet again.

Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

This is a side splitting, madcap and thoroughly charming story!
It’s outlandish, zany and so incredibly amusing.
It’s about two equally unique women starting on new paths in their lives.
Sicily and Lydia are the main characters and new roommates.

It’s a story about romance and the obstacles the characters face to get to the trusting and loving part.
It’s about friendship!!
The main and secondary characters and their shenanigans together are epic.
You can feel the connection, the love and acceptance they have for each other.

Sicily’s inner monologue is clever, quirky and the most entertaining thing I’ve read in a very long time.
She thinks things we wouldn’t want to admit and some of her ideas and thoughts are pure evil genius level craziness. I absolutely adore her!
She has a new job with Anderson, they’ve known each other for years but have never been close.
She has a low opinion of him that’s well deserved.
Working together brings them together daily and things quickly start to change.
Their conversations and interactions are so much fun. I love her quirkiness and I absolutely adore his reactions to it. They have a fun, unexpected connection.
Their chemistry is super fiery and playful. They are crazy hot together!

Lydia is clever, adorable and zany. She accepts a job teaching school… and she knows nothing about kids. Perfect fit, right!?!
She’s constantly trying to filter herself and her vulgarity in her thoughts and it’s hilarious.
Lydia is struggling with her feelings on relationships, commitment and love.
Simon comes into her life and she wants to be “casual.”
It leads to some crazy, funny and sweet moments.
I liked the way she evolved through the story, personal growth and coming into her own basically.
Lydia and Simon’s path is full of mishaps and hilarity.
They have intense chemistry and attraction to each other.

Both of these women are incredibly lovable, completely original and uproariously entertaining.

Both the guys are swoony in different ways, yes even Anderson. I love a good redemption story and he’s unexpectedly amazing and HOT.
Simon is straightforward, chill and sexy.
I love them both!

The secondary characters are AWESOME and a huge part of the fun, laughs and shared history.

I laughed until I had tears rolling down my face.
I smiled so much while reading this. It truly made me feel so much joy.

The situations, the phrases and the thoughts the characters have and say are impossible for me to properly describe.
This kind of humor needs its own original name.
It’s a lightening in a bottle kind of book.
It’s completely unique and everything is over the top in all the very best ways.
Trust me, this is a book you don’t want to miss.
The characters and story are a whole vibe of their own.
It’s so special and original. It will be a forever favorite of mine.

*I knew this would be the last new book I would read by C.M. Owens, tragically she is no longer with us.
I got choked up when I started this book and when I finished it.
I’m so glad S.M. Shade published their book, it showcases their co-writing genius and their close friendship.
My words won’t be enough to do them or this book justice.
Thank you both for this world and characters that made me smile and laugh when I really needed it so very much 💕

I enjoyed the story between Anderson and Sicily, but not so much the other couple. Would’ve loved to get to know them better. I really liked how Sicily did things, thought things and said things in a manner that was a little bit different from everyone else. I also really enjoyed getting to know Anderson, which surprised me since he was made out to be such an asshole in the previous book with not much hope for redemption.

I was rooting for them and wanted to get their whole story, but they had to share the space with the other couple. I didn’t like that. I didn’t find them interesting. Lydia gave the same vibe now as in the first book; a side character vibe. I also couldn’t quite seem to get invested in her relationship with Simon. To me, he gave the exact same vibe as her. So near the end of the book I unfortunately skipped a lot of their story.

The writing style is as great as the first book and it seemed to go for the same feeling as it had several awkward and extreme situations like the first one. Most of the stuff happening were funny and some - not so much. It made me smile a lot, but not laugh out loud like the first one. The side characters are from the first book which gave a glimpse into how they were doing - which was fun.

A new character was thrown in, Bobby Jo, and she was hilarious. Freakishly intense in a way that made the story that much funnier without her ever taking up too much room. Loved her.

Would definitely recommend if you’ve read the first book.

Spoiler alert!!

Plot:
Lydia’s story: meets an old friend from high school. They start up just as f buddies because of her being hurt in all her previous relationships. They fall for each other, but they both take a step back when the past seems to drag Lydia down once more. She goes after him when she gets her head together and they end up back together again.
Sicily’s story: starts working for her older brothers best friend. He is mean and tries very hard to get a reaction out of her. She eventually looses it. He admits that his behavior was meant to keep her at a safe distance. They become friends, but their attraction quickly makes it into more. She struggles with her confidence in the bedroom after some previous awkward sexual experiences while he tries to get his life together after years of always being the cheating boyfriend. They end up happy together.

Where did the authors get these out of the world and completely ridiculous and utterly hilarious ideas of this book? This is insane. F*ck It by C.M. Owens and S.M. Shade was one funny, sexy and entertaining ride. The witty play with words. The laugh out loud situations. And in middle of everything, the great friendship and heartfelt feelings.

This story is about two women. And their friends and their spouses. Basically one big plot with so many amazing people. And they are all some kind of crazy quirky people. Two main couple are here. Sicily and her ah013 boss Anderson. Lydia and her school crush aka her student's uncle Simon. And whole group of awesome characters those you just need to meet.

I think I startled people around me a few times because I just could not control my laughter. Seriously these characters are hilarious. Sicily is a talented smart career oriented woman who is clueless about sex and she definitely doesn't know how to handle her hate-lust status for her boss. Now Anderson is a c0ck7 guy who used to use and leave women because he was finding for true love. But Sicily kind of changed the game. Lydia is moving on after being left at alter. and she doesn't want a serious relationship but Simon is forcing her to rethink everything. She is cute and sassy and Simon is a dreamboat. What makes this story really interesting is how the plots intertwine. Throw in a crazy loud nosey obnoxius but super cool neighbour, an eventful beach vacation, a broken appendage and more and more and more. Go in with open arms and eyes and be prepared to enjoy the story fully and have a blast.

Thank you C.M. Owens & S.M. Shade

This was such a bittersweet book. I took my time reading it. I purposely stopped myself from devouring it.

I laughed and I cried, not because the book was sad but because this is it from C.M. Owens.

This was as epically hilarious as Worth It. Definitely a must read.

You know those books that you pick up and think, well, it’s not going to be as funny as the first one, with this you would be wrong.

I laughed my tush off. I don’t know if I can pick a favorite moment, scene, couple or anything! Seriously, there’s even a scene in Chuck E. Cheese!

After reading this I of course want to move my garage cans… and invest in tomato juice! Geez, the skunk. Although it is an interesting way to get up close and personal.

And the voodoo dolls, let me tell you, I will now be very careful about who I annoy, and pay attention to any shooting pains… those scorned women can be mean, especially if they have straight pins!

And with all the laughs, there was drama, life and love. And characters we wanted to hold onto just a little longer.

F*ck It is such a fun, fast paced read and exactly what I needed right now after reading a few thrillers in a row.

I love the way it is essentially 2 different stories in one book. In book one we had Kasha and Henley finding their perfect matches and in this book it's Lydia and Sicily's turn.

If you are fans of lots of dirty jokes, plenty of mishaps and all kinds of embarrassing moments then this book will be perfect for you.

Writing this review is bittersweet for me, because the loss of CM Owens means that we won’t be getting any more collaborations with her and SM Shade, and that is tragic. Because the two of these brilliant authors have the ability to make you blush and laugh out loud at the same time.

This is the second story with this group of characters and it is just as hilarious as the first. In “Worth it” we were introduced to Anderson, Lydia and Simon, but in “F*ck It” we really get to know them.

This story is going to have you laughing but it’s also going to have you rooting for these characters, you want them to get their happy endings in more ways than one 😏.

I know I keep talking about laughing out loud, but honestly it’s going to happen, too many things happen to these four that you really won’t be able to stop yourself. But that it the magic of the Owens/Shade way of writing. This is a feel good story that you won’t be able to put down.

Read these books, I dare you to read them and not crack up!

1) Worth It
2) F*ck It

This was a bitter sweet book to read as we know it's the last words we are going to get from the mighty talent that was C.M but once you start the story sucks you in and you are just in the hilarious world of the characters. Word of warning so not read with children in the room. My son kept asking what I was laughing at and the sections of book that had me laughing hysterically can not be described to a 5 year old :)). all in all and excellent book and fantastic and very worthy sequel to Worth It.

This book is everything I love about reading romcom. It’s hilarious, hot, and a great time getting out of my head and into the incredible antics of characters only CM Owens and SM Shade can deliver on. This book is like the best dessert you didn’t know was ordered, bringing awkward humor and steam together in the most amazing way. Thank you to everyone who made this happen because I can’t imagine not being able to read this book! We get a lot of oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no moments hahahaha and the tender moments weaved in just ice it. I absolutely loved this book and needed these laughs.

This book was so good! I laughed so hard. It was everything you would expect from a book by CM Owens and S M Shade. Bobby Jo is now the person I aspire to be like most in the world 🤣 That woman has some gumption. The book painted Anderson in a whole new light and I definitely do not hate him as much after reading this book. The boat bathroom scene will now forever live for free in my brain, Poor Simon. It was a truly great book. If you want a book that will make you laugh, cringe, swoon, and has a good amount of spice, this is it! Definitely my top read of 2022
