Jason Drake has been given a painful ultimatum.Either co-operate or lose the only chance he has of finding out what happened to his daughterThe stakes are higher and more personal than ever. The Assassin's Ultimatum is the spy thriller you've been waiting for. It's full of non-stop action and the twists and turns never stop. Every page is exciting and dripping with suspense. It continues the series many have called the best thing since Jason Bourne. The Assassin's Ultimatum is the fourth entry in what is one of the most full-throttle CIA assassin series to hit bookstores in decades. It has been created from the ground up to fill the space between Jason Bourne and Mitch Rapp. The extensive series will see one new novel every four months.Auston King is an avid reader, who has consumed every Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum book he could get his hands on and he wants to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
Auston King is the author name for an ex-intelligence officer who prefers to keep his anonymity about him. He's an avid reader, who has consumed every Tom Clancy, Brad Thor, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum book he could get his hands on and he wants to share stories that entertain, provoke, and leave you wanting more.
This is the most POORLY edited book I've ever had the displeasure to read. Mr. King is insulting his readers by publishing manuscripts with so many clerical errors. We deserve better.
The stories are are good and the characters are interesting but the clerical errors greatly distract from enjoying the stories.
I know a good editor...., but most of the errors could be identified by loading the digital file into Word and letting it find the typos, missing words, and other grammatical errors.
All of the books in the Jason Drake Spy Thriller series should be edited , corrected, and republished.
Kate Price is keeping the whereabouts of Jason's daughter from him unless he helps her bring down Lotus. The suspected head of Lotus is Eli Chambers a trusted Cabinet Member to the President and his ability to sway the President to his way of thinking (pro-Russia) is detrimental to the US.
Jason must break into the "Garden" aka Lotus headquarters and get the all the damaging info off the mainframe in order to find out where his daughter is. Kate's ex husband SAS man Colt is so against her blackmail he heads back to England and away from Kate.
Enter Kate's old boss (previously thought dead-Taggert) who has a trained group of ops soldiers called Mesa that save her from Eli's Lotus assassin's a few times and help Jason out on the op.
It doesn't end as well as we think and leaves you hanging for the next book.
So I have read every book in this series, and I enjoyed them very much. I give the series five stars because the series has been great, and I highly recommend it. But this one has some rough edges that I spoke with the author about and he was humble and cool about it, and said he is smoothing it out and updating the ebook with revisions to fix them.
The characters, especially Drake, Sierra, and Clive are great, and I think the author is just getting warmed up. I would go back and start at book 1, because without the previous books I don’t know how well this book would stand on its own. But the series is definitely worth your time.
For a new indie author I feel like Auston has done a great job. I have enjoyed them all. There are some editing issues but no more than a lot of other books I have read. There are a few continuity issues between books but I am willing to overlook them as that happens with a lot of authors. I stopped reading mainstream books because they were all predictable. These books have been unpredictable and that is the fun of reading.
Great series, makes you want to read the next book right away.
I enjoyed the well developed characters as well as the story jumping from 1part to the next. The downside is the poor editing, too many grammatical errors. This has been through out the series. I find this to be very annoying.
A lot of questions got answered but a lot is going on. I must have skipped this book but came back to it. Unfortunately, that meant I read the future before reading this one. Read it but in correct order and you will enjoy the thrills of the future.
I read this book today… yes, today. One day. It is one of the best written stories I’ve read in this genre. I’ve read literally well over a hundred in the past few years. All of the great authors… This is right up with them. Take a chance. Pick it up. You won’t be able to put it down… I guarantee it.
I already commented it in my review in the previous book in this series, it was amazing how so many characters were "returning from death"...and it happened again in this one. I like the story, with details coming from the previous books and still "alive" for next ones...but set of characters are not earning the 4th star in my score for it.
This is a set of books about a BBC rouge CIA ex spy. He wants go make the world better. But he BBC is very bitter about his past. He is a very good fighter with multiple ways to fight. Everyone who worked with him unfortunately seems to die. Three book sare enjoyable.
Fast action thriller — that really needs editing and proofreading. So after such quibbling, I still was captured by the book! Lots of intrigue, lots of fairly stupid politics, but impossible to put down.
The gang is back in full force and is as dangerous as ever. Although they lose a few, the hardest loss was Houston. But he went doing what he was best at.
Jason Drake had several major losses in this story. It seemed like he was trying to escape his past and to figure out who he is. Despite all of this heaviness, there was action and “bad guys” got what they deserved.
Very well executed. Kept the reader intrigued throughout. Touching about Houston’s last stand. And Prices demise. She defended Her country and proved to be a true patriot!
Thriller from the start, continuing the story line f Jason’s Drake. Creative twist and turn with internal Government spies. Cliff hanger ending. I am ready for Book 5.
It's hard to give these books a five-star rating when they continualy have errors . Mr. Drake needs an editor who can read every word so that, i.e., they can detect when a word is missing. It would also show some more respect for the readers who enjoy the story, but appreciate good sentences.
I just love the way these books flow from one mission to the next; never any real cliffhangers but a lead on to the next mission at then end of every book and that is what I like.
Really enjoyed the plot and continuing storyline. The writing style is however weakening and the lack of editors is really showing with dozens of incomplete sentences or grammatical errors.
I’ve read all four books in this series and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. The action, intrigue and suspense are nonstop. I look forward to reading all the Auston King books.
The book starts slow mainly because there are a lot of players. Once they are in play the story moves right along. There is a surprise twist that I won’t share. You have to read the book to find out. There is just enough intrigue that I’m reaching for book 4.
An awesome story. Convoluted yet thrilling. It pulls a lot of things together and ends a few as well. Drake is up for it all and can’t wait for next one
