Like his previous books, Graham H Miller wastes no time in diving straight into a compelling plot that hooks you from Chapter One. The Wrong Suspect picks up where The Wrong Victims left off and within minutes we learn that a spree killer is at large in Bradwick.
I love it when books start quickly like this. I'm so tired of getting to 40% on my Kindle and hoping things will speed up. It will help if you've read the earlier two books, but if you start with this one, it will still work, though there will be gaps in character history and so on.
Miller's writing style is so immersive and compulsive that you forget you're reading and feel more like an eavesdropper among the characters. When you look up, you've read nearly a hundred pages and burnt the toast.
DC Emma Angel is a relatable and likable protagonist and alongside her former colleague and now friend, Rob Haines, she works hard to keep Bradwick safe. When she thinks she has her man, it's an old and trusted friend that points out that she might not. Despite the evidence, she finds herself torn. Meanwhile, Rob Haines, now a private detective, finds himself in an equal dilemma which throws he and Emma together again. If I reveal more, I'll be giving away spoilers, but you'll be more than ready for book four!
If anything Graham H Miller just gets better. Think of the most addictive TV series you've ever watched and this book is the equivalent. The only drawback is that I now have to wait maybe a year for the next one!
