Lovely!

I randomly found this author and looking forward to reading more of her work. The overall story was sweet and romantic. Themes I saw were another chance at love and taking a chance on personal/individual change or growth.

After the first few chapters I was wishing that the personal feelings of both were held off a bit longer because I thought I was receiving the information quicker than expected….then I remembered that this is a novella and was getting straight to the point. So in the end I don’t think it was rushed at all. Very cute and lovely story.

I also love a white Christmas in New York so hearing that throughout the story painted a pretty picture.

I picked up 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 because I wanted a Holiday Romance written by a POC author with two POC leads. Add delicious food and a yaught? SOLD!

There were a lot of really great parts of this book! Essie is a badass chef who is kind and reasonable in the kitchen, but also HANDLES the a**holes found in this male-dominated field. Love that!

And Ross is a workaholic who is trying to change his diet and lifestyle with Essie's help. I loved that he is respectful to his entire staff and he has some great character growth in this book. Reformed Playboy vibes fir the win!

I felt that the relationship aspect of the story was very rushed. After one stolen kiss, Ross and Essie are just kind of instantly a couple. Even in front of the other employees, regardless of the power dynamics at play. I know this is a Novella and that means quick pacing, but lots of time was spent in the build up to that first kiss and then BLAMMO!...seasoned relationship.

𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 is a really good Holiday Novella, especially if you don't mind slightly uneven pacing.

RATING:⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
STEAM LEVEL: Rated R
TRIGGERS: minor encounter with stranger following female lead at night (no violence), panic attack, previous death of parent, child that parent has very limited contact with.
FEELS-O-METER: 2/5 - A bit of drama, but still a pretty light read.

Cute and quick holiday romance and there's food. I didn't love the male main character as much as I was rooting for the female main character. It was my first time reading from K.M. Jackson and I want to read more from her.

a beautiful quick read

I loved this quick read. Ross is the confident emotionally intelligent and vocal man that many women dream of. I only wish I had more time with them.
