From the moment he started working with her, she hated everything about him. His good looks, his charm, his allure…Lexi can’t stand him in the slightest.
She especially hates how much she wants him.
He’s the last person she wants to be stuck with.
So, when a spring snowstorm traps her and Rafe together while they’re out on a research mission, Lexi can’t believe her bad luck. Snowed in with Rafe, and his stupid alpha attitude? It’s a nightmare.
But when unforeseen circumstances force them to work together, Lexi hates Rafe for a whole new reason.
Namely, how much she’s drawn in by him… and his Alpha ways.
I started it on a whim, and I ended up staying awake super late to finish it, because I could not stop. I was this emoji the whole time 👀. Hot damn girl, you have quite the vocabulary. This was well worth any lost sleep.
Also, if you're a bit shy about trying shifter books, this is a great introduction to the genre.
I love the forced proximity trope, throw shifter and Omegaverse to the mix and this quickly became a must read for me! This was a quick read about Lexie and Rafe, who had a type of enemies to lovers type relationship going on when they get stuck together in a snow storm! It has some great 🔥🔥 scenes, and even with it being novella length, their relationship wasn’t instalove and wasn’t rushed(for a novella)! This is a new to me author and I will definitely be looking out for book 2!
Lexi and Rafe are biologists stuck in a snowstorm and only have one bed. Gah! Celise Mayeux perfectly blends, shifters, spice, and everything naughty and nice with this novella! I freaking loved it!
Why did I read this whole thing?! Ugh, that was so immature and poorly written. It also needed to be edited better. Caught quite a few inconsistencies.
Plot: Rafe and Lexi are out on a scientific mission and the weather is getting worse. They have to take shelter soon. The only problem is that they can't stand each other. Oh, and Lexi is going into heat. But as Lexi soon discovers, Rafe might not be as indifferent as he seems. And as she also discovers, neither is she.
Commentary: First, the shoutout to Lexi Foss - is this a pen name? Her best friend? I thought it was cute! Having them stuck in the cabin together during heat allowed for a forced relationship - starts out at 11 and then has to survive when it's dialed down a bit. I liked this story and will probably read the next two volumes. It was a quick read with plenty of steam.
Grammar/formatting: It could have used another round of editing - there were a couple of inconsistent ideas and some missing words/grammar issues
