So, I’m going to be the odd man out with this one.

This popped up in my Kindle app as recommended for me and it was also discussed in one of my FB groups. Short, sweet and wholesome, thought I’d give it a try. Obviously, I completely over thought this…

1st issue…. Her “ex” husband is a bigamist. He already had a wife and children before marrying her.

I wonder where this takes place, I’m assuming the US. The cover has a whole New England thing going on, but maybe I’m wrong.

Bigamy is illegal in the US.

In most cases, in the US, bigamy is a felony, and her marriage would have been invalid and likely annulled instead of going through a divorce. How do I know this? Google.

2nd issue… do all small towns have airports? She flies out of somewhere and can see her town and lands minutes from her ultimate destination, a sweet little ocean side village, where everyone knows everyone.

3rd issue… she has a complete sobbing, disconnected breakdown and some random guy takes her home? Who does this?

Obviously, over thought, I hate being logical.

2⭐️ because I felt guilty leaving a snarky review.

Well what a disappointment this one was. I was looking forward to it as it had popped up in my kindle feed as recommended read, a small town wholesome romance. Well I'm sorry there was so many issues with this for me the main one starts off with Gemma leaving her town after finding out her husband of 7 years is already married so she divorces him ERM what???? He is a bigamist you don't divorce because you are not married legally in the first place, well that's how it is in England. Then it just went downhill from there. Too quick to many inconsistencies and sorry just not for me.

Find out what happens with Gemma and Tucker on the shores of Woodpine Bay. Nessa Nichols’ Woodpine Bay series is a delightful collection of individual romance stories all inspired by this quaint seaside town. Broken Pieces is the first of the series
This is Gemma Davis and Tucker Dawson's story.
Gemma Davis stared emotionlessly out the window as the plane began its ascent to the sky; she couldn’t remember the last time she had smiled or been truly happy, but that didn’t matter to her.
Gemma was only concerned about getting away from Lancaster, the town she had spent all her life in.
She could recognize a few places as the plane gained altitude— the park, the massive community gym, her favorite restaurant.
Tucker Dawson angrily folded another piece of clothing into his almost filled luggage.
He needed to get away from Woodpine Bay fast, or he might become a murderer before the week ran out.
His other bags were already packed and waiting inside the trunk of his jeep outside.
He could still see her everywhere he looked at in his house, and knowing that she was in his arms— not just any other man but his was enough to make him want to kill someone.
Broken Pieces by Nessa Nichols is a 3 star book.

Sometimes you want to read a sweet short story. This novella will deliver! Gemma has the shock of a lifetime, her husband has another wife. Trying to pick up the pieces she travels as far from Lancaster as possible. Once there she has a total meltdown, Tucker bumps into her at the local Coffee shop. He is on his way out of town to escape his own broken heart, but he can’t just leave her crying and all alone. A chance meeting that has you turning pages.

Amazing Read!

First time reading this author and I am so glad that I did. I love this book. Such a sweet story with very real experiences. Towards the end my heart dropped, with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart I continued reading and thankful I did! Wonderful writer, just enough description to take you to Woodpine Bay and make you want to never leave...and make you want to build Tucker's cabin. Can't wait to read book 2!!

Two broken individuals help one another to heal. Too good to be true, maybe, but one would hope there really are people that care enough. From the disastrous meeting to the sweet ending, you will enjoy turning the pages to see how things work out for this pair. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review. I look forward to reading more of her books.

This is an okay read but the characters could use more depth. I’m not overly fond of weak women, and the heroine came across that way to me. The hero had a few issues as well. Not planning to read the next book in the series. Happy reading!

Broken Pieces

This story of two people who have both been deceived by the ones that they were in love with. Both broken but not all that much that when they get to know each other there is a spark for both. But will the past stay in the past? Can others actions tear them apart?

Odd book

Fluent easy read with sympathetic characters. Odd because the innocent party in a bigamous marriage does not need to go through a divorce. Also bigamy is a crime so the man she thought she was married to would have faced trial and prison.

Short story

It was a fast pace, short, sweet tale of two broken people finding love. It's a clean read with a HEA.

good. but short story

The story had great possibilities but it was brought to its HEA way to quickly. Felt like the middle of the story was missing,
