Don't Miss This... If you want to understand scripture better than you have in your life. I'm completely, unabashedly, in love with both E.B.F. and D.B. (authors) who have given me "eyes that see". Both have become familiar enough to feel like dear friends you call by their initials.

The Old Testament was my least favorite book of scripture until finally studying and understanding it this past year. Now I recognize it as the foundation of the world, mankind, and religion. It's a beautiful love story of God and children He continually tries to beckon back and bless. Each book felt incredibly relevant to God's children in 2022 thanks to authors who do an exceptional job of "likening unto us".

This book of devotionals is the perfect complement to the "Don't Miss This" podcasts and study journal. The podcast is the main course. These devotionals become "dessert" at the end. Delicious unto my soul.

Made this one last all year as I made my way through the Old Testament. I really liked the insight the authors gave to the Bible often bringing up things I had not thought about.

I’ve been dreading finishing the study of the Old Testament this year because I have loved it so much. David and Emily make each and every book in the OT so relatable and easy to understand. Their podcast has been fabulous each week. I’ve read the OT before, and even taught from it, but this year I guess it has sunk in more—how good God is, how He remembers us, how He has shown up for those who love Him over and over again, performed miracles, fought their battles—and I’ve loved it all! Now He comes to earth and lives among us in the New Testament. Can’t wait to study the NT again in 2023. ❤️

This is a good companion to Old Testament Study. The authors expound upon one verse in almost every chapter of the Old Testament, giving Biblical insight and relating a teaching from the verse to modern life through personal stories. The 185 devotionals in the book are short - most are one page or less - and there is a reflection question at the end of each lesson. This would be good source for daily family scripture discussions for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The insights that the authors share about one verse in nearly every chapter of the Old Testament helped me to have a greater understanding and appreciation for each chapter which isn't easy to always understand.

We read this as a family as we read the Old Testament for this year’s Come Follow Me study. Many interesting lessons were taught as we read this book. We will be using the New Testament version in 2023.

Freeman and Butler provide opportunities for reflection and pondering on approximately 180 verses in the Old Testament. It is an enlightening book and a nice way to delve deeper into the Scriptures.
