There's no time like the present, but there's no place like Yester Year...
When Paula Frederick gets a weekend job on Dream Rock, a former prison island that now serves as the world's largest leisure destination, she can hardly believe her luck.
Dream Rock's outlandish surroundings are a welcome break from her studies. Paula's fully costumed role within the island's smallest zone, a medieval-themed amusement park called Yester Year, seems set to allow for even more immersive fun than she imagined.
Not even hazing from some mean-spirited colleagues can dampen Paula's spirits — at least until a trip through the wrong door reveals that the old stories about some kind of mysterious vortex beneath the island might have been more than fanciful rumours, after all.
Full immersion in the world of centuries gone by was all fun and games... when there was a way back.

Yester Year is a long-awaited time travel story and the latest in a new series of Sci-Fi Sizzlers: standalone short stories from international bestselling author Craig A. Falconer. These stories can be read in any order — dive in today!
When I started read reading "Yester Year", I had my doubts. Craig A Falconer writes twisty tales that surprise, and sometimes, shock his readers. Well, this time the surprise was on me! With every new chapter, Paulina and her little brother Rob face more than they bargained for. Any more will give it away. I was throughly entertained and you will be too. Falconer has not disappointed in any of his "Sci-Fi Sizzlers" so far, and he doesn't in "Yester Year" either!
Listened to a YouTube audiobook on a car trip. I think I would’ve really been into this as a kid. Good fun. Sure, you have to just accept some things, but that’s sci fi. Could be expanded into a much bigger tale, but that’s the author’s call.
4⭐️ Yester Year was an enjoyable, quick read that reminded me of Michael Crichton’s Timeline. I would definitely read a longer novel by Craig A. Falconer.
