Actively Unwoke: The Ultimate Guide for Fighting Back Against the Woke Insanity in Your Life

Rate this book
The woke have taken over every major institution in this country—the schools and universities, corporate America, the media, and the government. It’s time to fight back. Actively Unwoke will show you how.

For the last several years, we’ve watched as woke political activists have staged destructive protests, destroyed businesses, hurled accusations of racism and white supremacy around as if those terms mean nothing, and publicly bullied and canceled anyone who disagrees with them.

These authoritarians claim to represent social justice, but they are about one power. Their goal is nothing short of cultural revolution. So what do we do about it?

Actively Unwoke explains what’s going on and decodes the language the woke are using so that you can understand what we’re up against.

To inspire you and explore actionable strategies you can take, Karlyn Borysenko looks at ways real people have fought back in the real world. This includes fighting back in the schools, knowing how to act when the woke come to work, taking a stand with your elected leaders, and even a few subversive strategies just for fun.

This book also reveals how to survive cancelation (yes, it’s possible) and how to take care of yourself as you join a ragtag group of misfits to do battle with the greatest existential threat of our time.

If you ever wondered what you would have done during the Civil Rights movement or in 1930s Germany, the answer to that question lies in what you are doing now. This fight isn’t about left or right, Democrat or Republican. It’s not about liberal values or conservative values.

It’s about protecting American values.

This book will give you everything you need to join the unwoke army. It’s not enough to just be unwoke anymore—it’s time to be actively unwoke.

Karlyn Borysenko, an organizational psychologist, became the accidental anti-woke activist when, like so many of us, she witnessed the rise of the vicious and militant leftism that has corrupted and wrested control of national institutions. I became a supporter of her YouTube and Locals channels, even chatting with her on occasions, and I have found her a highly thoughtful woman. Her book not only discusses all the cornball and paranoid theories of this motley crew -- BLM, feminism, LGBT -- but offers way to counterattack them.

Dr. Borysenko's biggest focus is the Critical Race Theory, the current fad among schools and workplaces that condemns all whites, along with their society, as bigoted and claims that all Blacks are systemically oppressed. "You are not a racist," she repeatedly writes, for disagreeing that bias against Blacks is the root cause of Black societal failures. She tears apart all the ultra-liberal theories, one by one, with a lot of warmth and humor, laced with personal anecdotes. She describes, for example, how her knitting circle pounced on her because she dared to express her own views.

As someone who studied bullying in the workplace, Dr. Borysenko knows how to throw Molotov cocktails back at the likes of "Antifa" and other scum. She even offers rules on keeping one's cool during arguments and confrontations (Rule #2: Enjoy the fight.) and especially never "bending the knee." In this respect she resembles Milo Younnapolis, one of the earliest anti-Woke fighters. His own book, written six years ago, introduced me to the conservative and libertarian movements. Sadly, things have only gotten worse, just as he predicted, ironically making his book already obsolete. I fear this may ultimately happen to Dr. Borysenko's book because of the rapid chaos that has since overtaken this nation. I wouldn't be surprised if her book will be repeatedly revised, like a textbook. (I write this review on July 4, Independence Day, with a heavy heart.) Dr. Borysenko herself is a member of the Libertarian party; this actually gives her a vantage point between the right (presumably Republican) and the left (where the Democrats have pretty much headed). It is the latter, though, that is observed and criticized, and each day the left grows more venomous.

This book could have benefited from better editing; it contains a number of typos and misspelled words. (Homonyms are the biggest problem.) Nevertheless, it is highly readable, and urgent for these times. Dr. Borysenko is a true soldier, waging a mighty war against media elites and academic fools, but also encouraging team spirit among her crowd of supporters. She arms them with ample practical and intellectual tools.

Many books are academic and theoretic, they talk about theory and history. This is NOT that book. It tells you how to actually deal with the encroachment of CRT and woke ideology your workplace. I like how it addresses the practical aspect of not losing your job and keeping yourself sane while standing up for your values.

Complains about woke people, but then says that Jewish people chose to die in the Holocaust before they were born…and that Hitler went to heaven.

Spouts Anti-Semitic nonsense and then complain about “woke people” holding them accountable for what they say.

I disagree with some aspects of the new culture of the political left, and the weaselly title 'woke' has always bothered me. I was hoping this book would help me understand why, and maybe guide me through some tough questions, such as, should I feel guilty for the sins of my fathers?

Unfortunately, it's nothing like that. This "book" is just one person's senseless rant - there's no research, statistics, philosophy, or history. Reading it very much felt like sitting next to that loud karen at starbucks who's trying to give advice but actually yapping about all the times she's been a victim. Honestly, most of this book is the author recounting (in detail) her internet flame wars. It's downright embarrassing. She preaches polarization, pitting "red pill" people such as herself vs the "woke". Which seems like exactly the same close-minded attitude. She says sure you will lose your friends, but don't worry, you will meet new friends who all believe the same stuff. How is that good advice? Surround yourself by people who see the world the way you/she does? She recommends complaining loudly, being obnoxious whenever possible, and trolling people online. I'm not even joking, she recommends reading 4chan to get good trolling ideas. She defends Trump's racist comments by saying he was just trolling, which is funny!

I'm disappointed because there was a real opportunity to explain how or why woke culture isn't perfect, but instead she just whines about how she doesn't like it. She claims Coke instructed employees to "be less white." That rubs me the wrong way too, but I'm not sure why, and would love to explore it. But instead she just rambles on about how popular her tweet about it was. No intelligent discussion whatsoever.

I went into reading this book not knowing a thing about it or the author, but I finished it with the conclusion that she's an absolute dumbass who isn't going to change anyone's opinion - just polarize more close-minded people on both sides. How did this book get published? I'm embarrassed I read it and hope nobody sees it on my goodreads list.

Well written in a personal style. She come from a Democrat background and awakened to the evil of critical theory. She doesn't give much background on the worldview as other books and approaches the fight against wokeness from a humanistic point of view.

A good read.

I agreed with many of her statements but not all. I'm a Democratic and fairly socially liberal until recently. But there are some things at play in the Americas that I just cannot get on board with.

I loved the suggestions on how to combat the "hive mind" that is so prevalent in today's world. Don't be afraid to not agree. Don't agree to just shut up. Say your peace, change what you can. Make your voice and your thoughts heard even if you feel like you are swimming upstream.
