I have no idea why I'm still reading this webtoon.
For while the art is gorgeous and the plot slightly intriguing, Malori is usually so infuriating I'm tempted to simply through my phone away. Nonetheless, the modicum of character development that occurred at the end of season 1 greatly helped and I think I'll just keep going for the sake of Queen Vel. Her generals are also quite hilarious yet badass.
Found it while scrolling through online manga/manhwa website, and proceed to LINE webtoon since I saw a note from the author that it is available there. Since we need to start normalize reading manga/manhwa the legit way, I immediately subscribe to the series. It's your unusual Yuri love where a mage fell in love with the queen demon whom she should destroy but instead, she went to the tower proposing a marriage to the queen. I had fun while reading and have no problem to continue on with it \(^.^)/
So I'm late after reading the "happy ending" a number of weeks ago, so I decided to do a review of the whole part 3 series. I am not gonna lie here, the art and story quality pretty much dipped. I felt I was looking at a completely different Webtoon like the last two seasons were far better then this season. I mean I don't know what the authors were thinking of changing the art style on Queen Vel and Malori. I also thought the battles weren't that big of deal, it was like they happen and now they gone without looking back. I'm disappointed as I thought this was going to be a decent GL but instead it was just a nothing burger ending.
Well ... not much to say about this one. Its first and foremost a romance plot; there are quite a few comedic elements and even some action scenes but they are far from being common enough to carry the story, so if youre looking for a comedy or action story first, you might not be satisfied.
The romance is ... alright ? By real life standards is actually pretty creepy but the story just rolls with it in a comedic way. I guess its supposed to be wholesome but i found Malori such a pest that it actively ruined my enjoyment of the story.
I recommend it in case youre not reading anything and are interested in some light romantic adventure; the chapters are pretty short so its easy to binge the entire season in a couple of hours.
I binge read this entire season after seeing another Webtoon creator post about it, being near the end of Season 2. I’m almost ashamed of myself for not finding this webcomic sooner because it’s lovely. I absolutely adore slow-burn romances so to see Malori’s dedication to the tsudere: Demon Queen Velverosa was lovely. Also the shenanigans that Malori drags her poor friend: Cerik, into as a result of wanting to see Queen Vel so much is very amusing. I’m excited to start reading Season 2 and hope that one day this gets the chance to be physically published.
I have no idea why I even read this, I feel absolutely ridiculous. My only excuse is that in its absolute absurdity and trashiness this webcomic is entertaining. THAT'S IT.
Tú me diste esperanzas y, ahora, yo debo darte fuerza."
Una aventura muy graciosa sobre una maga enamorada de la reina demonio y de sus intentos por conquistarla. Demonios, magia, estudiantes y aventureros en un reino humano junto a una torre de muchas plantas y con muchos jefes al servicio de la reina.
I didn't know what I was really getting into with this webcomic, I just knew that it was about lesbians so I read it and then I was pleasantly surprised by the humor and action.
Essentially there is a mage who is in love with the Demon Queen, and she goes to her tower every day to try to defeat this queen in hopes that she will fall in love with her as she wants to be the demon queens wife. The demon queen does not like this at all; until she stops coming to visit her and she has to go out and find her girlfriend - because how dare she stop visiting her every day?
We have a great cast of characters if you enjoy D&D then the theme of this webcomic is great for you; it's got humor, action, politics, and we even get a confirmed trans girl in season two so I feel that the more the series progresses the more interesting it gets. This one I put down for a few months because I wasn't really feeling it but when you binge the entire series in two sittings like I ended up doing it's a great read and I would have used fast passes for it if I hadn't spent all of them on My Deepest Secret (another fantastic webseries to check out!).
I've never really read a webcomic before but wow what a great one to start with. While I found one particular special on a differing relationship between Malori and Vel actually kind of repellant if I'm honest, the story itself was immense. I loved both the art and the plot. I also really enjoyed all of the characters, my favourites being the demons and the patron additions. It was lovely to see an author who was not only interacting with her readership through notes and specials, but by also making them part of the story itself.
I love the mix of genres this comic plays with. To list some; romance, adventure, RPG-based and comedy. I loved the author's sense of humour and I'm actually distraught that I can't have a copy of this comic on my bookshelf. There were a few errors within the text but a quick comb through could easily fix this. I just enjoyed this series so much. I'm hoping to start series 2 soon.
After finishing season one of this I realized how much I loved mal. Not only do we both have the same name but she is hilarious. I love what she will do for her queen but at the same time I love that she isn't perfect. Queen Vel is also an amazing character. I feel like both of them have a darkness to them that they don't want to express... The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because of some of the fan service side panels. I think most of them are hilarious but the ones about Mal being a kid and vel being an adult bothered me. It probably wouldn't have bothered me as much if Mal wasn't drawn to look like a child to me. Other than that I loved it! I can't wait to read season two!
I'd usually give a in-depth review about all the things I loved and all the things I hated, but I'm kinda not really capable of doing so when it comes to Mangas/Graphic Novels I enjoy(ed).
So yeah, the only thing left for me to say is - therefore - it was good.
I loved this webcomic so much because it's the perfect amount of RPG shenenigans feat Enemys to Lovers (kinda) feat Slow Burn feat Breaking the forth wall feat making fun of tropes of the genre feat healthy couple. The age gap might be a problem for some but if you saw the cover you knew what you were getting yourself into, so I don't think that you've got any right to complain. Just saying :P
I didn't know what I was walking into when reading this webtoon but no gonna lie best decision. I love the humor and all the characters (though Malori gets on my nerves a bit with her one track mind but I suppose that's the simplicity of it all). A human girl falling in love with the demon queen very cute and a fun first season.
Mage girl tries to court a Demon Queen to varying degrees of success.
Incredibly wholesome fantasy comic that's just a breeze to read. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by its heart and genuinely funny moments.
By the end, you're just as invested in their relationship as some of the characters.
Definitely got me as a weekly reader from here on out.
I'm sure that reading this every year can become a tradition for me, and you know what? I don't mind it because I would never get tired of this. I'm in love with them, and I enjoy every moment they spend together. It is so beautiful watching the evolution of their love. It's so funny when Queen Vel wants to deny it but her waggy tail gives her away.
I was recommended this by a friend and started reading it that night out of curiosity ... I finished binging the entire first season in about 4 or so hours all up. OwO I literally going to go straight into reading the second season ASAP.
This is my first Webtoon and honestly I am so glad I found it. This isn't your normal story which I love. It turns all your typical tropes upside down in the best way. Really a wholesome comic. Can't wait to start Season 2!
Okay so this might be a comic where life works like an RPG and some characters are ridiculously hot and altogether it's quite silly, but it's adorable. Looking forward to reading season 2, and would deffo recommend to people who like queer fantasy comics.
