Haven, by JDG Perldeiner, is a fun, fast read which is very imaginative in language (my Latin finally helped me out) and in setting/story. This is a post-apoc novel set in a new Dark Ages of sorts, a post-technology New England, USA, setting, where the remaining people have seen light bulbs, but never seen them lit up. The language is my favorite part of the writing; for the story itself, the author has provided an interesting array of characters. This is a bit of fantasy and a bit of post-apoc reading; I'm not typically a fan of fantasy genre fiction, but still enjoyed Haven a lot.
