My mother has promised me to a complete stranger. She says he is the doctor who saved my life when I was ill — but I've never known a doctor like Torvald Madsen. When I wake from my illness, he has marked my skin with the tattoo of a tree that spreads across my whole body — and heats at his mere presence, crying for his touch. We are married quickly, with no friends or family, and then he steals me away.
I dreamed of being an artist, and now I am the wife of the lord of a northern keep at the edge of troll country. Although he is handsome and protective and encourages me to paint, he is keeping secrets from me. Why is it rumored that he had other wives? Why do I grow so cold without his presence? Why can't I go into the east wing? And why are his eyes full of such pain?
As I peek back my husband's secrets, the truth might kill me — or set us both free.
Bluebeard's Curse is a fairy tale retelling for those who like an adorable happily ever after with a side of serious steaminess!
Lidiya Foxglove grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, folklore and fantasy and also reads way too much manga. Fantasy romance is her favorite thing in the world, but she likes it steamy. She also loves cats and tea--it's cliche for a reason!
Demons, Curses, and Romance: This is not your usual fairytale romance. Plot similar to Bluebeard the French folktale. Adult material throughout the story that also has some very dark elements to it. Mysterious beginnings caught my attention on the first page and kept me glued to the last page. An intriguing imagination from an author who is extremely talented in writing over the top sexual fantasy fairytales. Torvald and Rosalind were fascinating characters along with several others. Grudo the Troll was a favorite. Lots of romance, many more surprises than you can imagine. The ending was terrific, scary and so rewarding. Loved the end. This story is not for the faint at heart. Heat level is over the stop in bed sport. Mature reader. This book was a gift for my honest review.
I was a huge fan of the 1960’s television series Dark Shadows and I thought of it often as I read Bluebeard’s Curse. It’s the vibe of this story that reminded me so much of the television series.
I was thrilled to see Rosalind and Torvald’s love and trust growing for one another every day despite the shadow of her probable death looming over them. I was anxiously hoping they would get to live the long and loving passionate life together that they so desperately deserved and desired.
I wish we could delve more into the backstory of Torvalds family as well as the epilogue. Also, I didn’t love the idea of Thumbelina being their baby…..
Couldn't put this book down, absolutely loved it. I was hopeful for things and most of them happened in the upmost, suspenseful, and well put together twists. I cannot wait for more books.
Great book.. naughty fairy tale indeed. Rosalind was murder but a Dr treated her but she must wed him.upon waking she don't remember dying but now must marry a demon . Good book
I enjoy it from one chapter to the next chapter all the way. Taste of naughty erotica scenes with plot to blend in like The Goblin King. Non-stop reading. If you want deep erotica with story, this is the book for you!
