If you want to enjoy a light-hearted read, with an amateur female sleuth, mouth-watering culinary desserts and a gripping murder mystery with a touch of romance, then you'll love Meghan Truman and all the quirky characters in Sandy Bay. No cliffhanger, swearing or graphic scenes!
An amazing as always but unfortunately last book. The neighbours say farewell but there is a murder. Meghan tries to solve it. She’s a strong character who will get the job done. Ready for the next series by this fantastic writer.
In this book, so much is going on. Meghan is getting ready to have her baby, her mother and sister arrive and keeps a secret from her, Jack gets into trouble, and a strange woman, Doris Ormond, arrives in town. Mrs. Ormond starts appearing in places where Meghan is and Meghan starts to feel uncomfortable. When they finally meet, Meghan learns that Doris and her husband is a neighbor. Mom and Myrtle, with the help of Pamela, Trudy and Jack, plan a surprise baby shower. Unfortunately, a wonderful party turns into a nightmare when Doris shows up uninvited and argues with a couple of the guests before the party even begins. Then during the party, someone dies and thus the investigation begins. Who wanted this woman dead? Mr. Ormond starts to come around and Jack is worried for Meghan. There are so many suspects and Jack can’t get involved since the murder took place at their home. There are many suspects and it is up to Meghan to solve this case before the baby is born.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. We have watched Meghan grow into her own independent woman who can handle anything that comes her way. It is bittersweet to say goodbye to the series. But like anything else, a new beginning with Meghan, Jack and the baby will, I am sure, start out with a bang. I have laughed and cried with these characters and I feel I am losing my friends. Goodbye Sandy Bay.
The characters are regular people involved in each other’s life. Like the other books in the series, this book had lots of twists and turns and kept you on the edge of your seat. It was entertaining, had an intriguing storyline, and the interaction between the characters were awesome. I would recommend this book to any cozy mystery fan who likes good storytelling, a little romance and likable characters.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
A pregnancy, hormones, a baby shower gone astray, secrets, a very sick parent, an overbearing mother who wants Meghan and Jack to move to Texas with the baby, an obnoxious neighbor, the return of an old friend, a corporation wanting to buy up the block Meghan's bakery is on, a murder and the arrest of all in one book! This last book of the series has it all! Meghan is ready to deliver any minute and a surprise visit by her opinionated, controlling mother and one of her sisters isn't enough, she is ready to deliver: NOW! When her bakery shop workers, Trudy and Pamela along with her detective husband, Jack, her mother and sister put together a surprise baby shower she is really surprised especially to see Doris who seems to be anywhere Meghan happened to be and invited herself to Meghan's shower, another woman Meghan didn't recognize and her former friend, Jackie who also decided on her own to show up. Well it's one big party now until Doris takes a bite of one of the desserts there and drops dead. And then Micha Ormond, Doris' husband and next door neighbor keeps coming to Meghan's house and acting weird about his wife's death and Jack becomes livid. This couldn't end good. A wonderful surprise ending with lots of promise. This is an amazing page turning book with so much packed in you can't put it down once you begin! I love this series and if you haven't tried it I highly recommend you do! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Another success for Amber Crewes! I have really enjoyed reading the Sandy Bay Cozy mystery series. I’ve become so intimately involved with all the characters in these books, that they seem like family to me. Zucchini Chips and Poisoned Lips is the last book in this series, and it’s so hard to say goodbye to my crazy new family and all the excitement, intrigue, suspense, hilarity, tears and love that I experienced reading Sandy Bay series.
This last entry is a page-turner to the max! I could not put it down!
Meghan is having a baby so, naturally, someone is murdered and the body is discovered at her baby shower! The tale continues with such twists and turns, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the fantastic I-didn’t-see-that-one-coming climax! Wow!
Amber Crewes brought the end of this series together brilliantly! Everything ties together nicely, and I am saddened that’s it’s over, but, I have a feeling something else is coming soon to fill the void. 😉
Book 26 where we find Megan getting ready to have her baby,if that's not enough to deal with but then someone dies and even though the baby shower was fantastic here Megan feels she had to find the killer! I have not read the whole series but enough to see Megan grow up and become a pretty good detective and now a new mom. You can't help but become close to all the characters in the book and not get to know them as almost like family or the next door neighbor. Receive this book to review by Miss Crewes and what a wonderful fantastic imagination she has as a writer, I always love to see what's going to happen next with Megan. Will she solve this murder before the baby is born let sure hope so cuz you got to remember she's 9 months pregnant and I'm sure she doesn't feel like going around looking for a murderer!
Megan and Jack are awaiting the birth of their first child. Megan's mother and one of her sisters have arrived from Texas and have thrown an unplanned baby shower. During the shower, a lady she had just met a few days prior drops dead. Who killed Doris Orman? There are several suspects and no one wants Magan to investigate. A conglomerate has also arrived in town and are offering to buy out the block where Truly Sweet is located. What is going to happen next?
I am voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving it free from the author.
Zucchini Chips and Poisoned Lips is book #26 in the Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery series by Amber Crewes.
Meghan is in her final days of pregnancy and is ready to meet her baby. Unfortunately, there’s a murder and Meghan can’t help but do a little investigating.
There’s a lot of emotion in this book, both happy and sad. It is the final book in the series and it wrapped up really well as Meghan and her family close out one chapter of their lives and start on a new one.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
"Zucchini Chips and Poisoned Lips" was an entertaining read. The fast-paced page-turning plot was filled with intrigue, suspense, and the anticipation of a little Irvin. Once again, the reader was taken on a roller-coaster ride of who killed the mean-spirited neighbor. The ending seemed to be very fitting for Meghan, Jack, and the little Irvin baby. I enjoyed reading this narrative and the other books in this series. I received an advanced copy of this book, and I am voluntarily giving my honest review.
Zucchini Chips and Poisoned Lips is Book 26 in A Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery by Amber Crews. My heart is crying because this ends a wonderful series, but, what a way to end the series. Amber Crews has written such a fabulous story and she tied up all loose ends. Megan and Jack are about to become patents, Truly Sweet is thriving, life is good for the Irvins. There are so many surprises and unexpected turns that I think Amber Crews saved the best for last. All good things must come to an end, even beloved series. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Well, this was the final episode to a really great series. I will miss Meghan and Jack, as well as the Sandy Bay family and Meghan's Texas family. I gave this book 5 stars because it had everything. There were joyous scenes about Meghan and Jack having a baby. There was sadness in the fact that a family member dies. There was a murder with several suspects. And there is an unexpected future for Meghan and Jack and their baby. Thank you Amber Crewes for a family I will surely remember.
Meghan muddles through this stage of her life, or waddles as the author puts it. Meghan has a great bakery and a great husband, but life just seems to come at her. She watches things happening, wonders about their impact and then she is part of the story. There are inconsistencies at this point in her life compared to the previous 25 episodes. Pleasant enough read but doesn't compel the reader to read it non-stop.
A great read. Amber never let's her readers down. A great mystery that kept me waiting on the next clue. A few times I was sure I knew who it was, but there would be a new turn and I would be heading down the wrong avenue. I read this novel with a little sadness because I had to say goodbye to the characters. But I figure the author may bring them up in another novel some time. I received this novel from BookFunnel. This is my honest review.
This is the last book in the series. Meghan is about to have her first baby. Her mother and sister arrive for a surprise baby shower. When a new neighbor, who happens to be very nasty, dies at the baby shower, another murder investigation starts in Sandy Bay.
A lot is happening in town, Meghan's life, and with the murder investigation.
The author wraps up the series and we're ready to move on.
This book can be read by anyone. It can be read by itself, even is you haven't read any of the other books, but characters continue throughout the series so it might be a bit more enjoyable if you're familiar with the characters.
I received an advance reader copy from the author. This is my honest review.
Wow this book was amazing and for the last book in the series it was wrapped up like a present it was so good. Megan is coming to terms with leaving and with everyone saying goodbye she didn't think she would have to say goodbye to her neighbor quite so literally. There goes Megan on one last case. I can't wait to start a new series by this author if you haven't started the series yet do it now you will be hooked too. I received this book as an Arc for an unbiased and honest review.

Meghan finally has her baby. At her baby shower someone falls over dead! The police discover she was poisoned. Meghan wants to discover who the murderer is. Amber Crewes writes so compellingly to keep your attention throughout with her amazing characters and surprises along the way. Don't miss this book and be sure to read the previous books in this series. I look forward to whatever comes to next. Happy reading! 😊
Sadly this is the last book of the Sandy Bay series! Meghan and Jack have a lot going on. Mrs Truman and her daughter drop in to visit Meghan and Jack. Unbeknownst to Meghan her father is very ill in Texas. Her mom throws her a surprise baby shower. When someone dies at the shower she feels compelled to investigate especially since the woman was not invited to the shower and Meghan didn’t particularly like the snobby woman. Her old “friend” Jackie returns to town and comes uninvited to the shower as well! He widow barges his way into her house! While Jack isn’t happy the widow has it out with Jack and gets him arrested then sends his business honchos to buy the bakery! After a false alarm Meghan finally delivers her healthy baby! This book has nonstop action as Meghan and Jacks busy lives come to a satisfying conclusion! I read every book in this amazing series and loved all of them! I’m sad to see it end. I highly recommend this book and whole series!
Just days before Megan’s baby is due, houseguests arrive and her neighbor drops dead under suspicious circumstances. This final book in the series ties up some story lines and sends Meghan off on a new adventure. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.
The author has given us a wonderful ending for the Sandy Bay series. Meghan and Jack are awaiting the arrival of their baby, but when a party crasher is found murdered, Meghan and her group must investigate. The story keeps us turning the pages with suspense, danger and excitement.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Meghan is ready to give birth, Jack is in for trouble, family matters boil over and the baby shower goes horribly wrong. What else can possibly to wrong? This is Meghan's biggest adventure with so much action her head is reeling. Find out more in this exciting and sometimes dangerous addition to the Sandy Bay series and welcome Baby Irvin. Highly Recommended.
Read books in order! Such a bittersweet ending, so many friends left behind. Wow, not that was one healthy baby boy! 10 pounds?? First baby talk about hoping the next ones will be smaller. Don’t want to top that weight! Looks like the Fates wanted them To move, friends/coworkers leaving, needing a safer environment for the family. Good way to say good-by to the Sandy Bay area.
Amber Crewes did an amazing writing of this book. It was a very good book to read. The characters made you feel like you were with them in the story. I enjoyed the book and anyone reading this book will not be disappointed.
What a roller coaster ride, so much happening & an unexpected happy ending. Another murder that Meghan is involved in & puts her in danger again. Her baby is born, but a tragedy affects her family, which may change her life forever.
This is sadly the last book in the Sandy Bay series and it's fabulous. Megan and Jack excitingly a wait their new baby. A lady drops dead at an unplanned baby shower.
I don't know what to say, I Start it reading At 230 I'm finished it 930 I couldn't stop Ate supper reading I will miss that there no more to this story but I'm ready for the next books.
Spend about a day with this cozy set in Sandy Bay, Oregon, where it is early January and Meghan Irvin owner of Truly Sweet (the bakery) is nearing the end of her third trimester of pregnancy. I had an ARC via Bookfunnel and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
I loved reading this series of books. Meghan and Jack are expecting their first baby. Life is changing in many ways for them in this book. A must read to find out where their lives take them.
I read the series about the Sandy bay mysteries and thoroughly enjoyed all the stories hopefully there will be more about Megan and Jack living in Texas. Thank you for a very good series.
What a great adventure is ahead for Meghan. Life is about to change in so many different areas of her life. New friends and old friends all pop back in for some great spice to life. I didn't want to put it down.
