"Mason" is the story of Mia and Mason.

A mail order bride romance, in which a lonely heroine agrees to the marriage, gets married to a brooding hero, they immediately fall in love and get their HEA.

It was ok!

2.0⭐️ I’ve read and enjoyed some insta-love stories. Further, I’m pretty fond of mail order bride plots. Nonetheless, after reading this story, I unexpectedly found myself reacting to it as a sarcastic, cynical reader.

Part of my problem stems from the fact that I hate “cutesy” names like Holly Huckleberry or Joy, Mason and Mia Mistletoe. I’m just surprised that a character named Rudy Reindeer wasn’t thrown in the mix.

In this mail order bride theme there is very little character development, and the insta-love aspect is not only far-fetched but it hasn’t even a semblance of believability to it. AND, naturally, we have the inevitable surprise announcements by the deliriously happy couple in 2 epilogues that are 4 years apart. 🙄

Unfortunately, my sarcastic cynicism has reared its ugly head, despite how hard I tried to tamp it down.

Overall, this very short Christmas story did not warm the cockles of my heart. I rolled my eyes so much that I gave myself a headache. Instead of giving me the warm fuzzies, I just wanted to hurry and finish. It was torture for me, but others may enjoy a bit of fluffy Christmas fantasy. Simply put, however, this particular story missed the mark—badly.

Mason and Mia were awesome together. I loved the connection and the chemistry between these two. Mia doesn't want to be alone anymore and Mason wants to save his family's town. These two are exactly what the other needed at just the time in their lives. I love the Mia has her heart on her sleeve while Mason is closed off, opposites but perfect for each other. I loved this book and I thought that it was an excellent addition to this series. I would highly recommend this book and Ms. Hope as must read author!

“We’re married, Mia. You don’t have to ask me to hold your hand. You don’t have to ask if you can touch me, or really, ask for anything. You want something from me, something I have or can give you, you take it. It’s yours."

Hope Ford is always a one click for me. I don't even usually bother reading the blurb. That's how I ended up with a book that I wouldn't normally pick up. I'm not a big mail order bride/arranged marriage fan. However, Hope Ford did a great job with this. I actually really enjoyed the story even if it was sometimes as cheesy as a Hallmark Holiday movie. In fact, it's basically a Hallmark movie with sex. It was a good time. I might even try out another book in the series.

Mason is full of this idea of his friends' marriages that didn't go well. But he needs to be married to save the town.
Mia is full of the idea of love at first sight. But she lost her parents and she doesn't want to spend the holidays alone.
What better idea than to get married! Getting married was easy ... we'll see if they get divorced!

Mason, Book 3 of the Mail-Order Brides For Christmas series, was about Mason Mistletoe, the owner of a tattoo parlor, and Mia Devin, the owner of the winery left to her by her late parents.
Mia's age was somewhere between 18 and 20. That was deduced because she said she wasn't of legal drinking age and had to use a fake ID to purchase alcohol. Mason was older than 18, which was determined by the fact that he had been in the military for some time.

When the Mistletoe family learned that their small town was about to be sold to a large corporation that would turn their world into a tourist attraction, the six brothers decided to pool their inheritance together to buy it instead. There was only one problem with that idea, though. The town's founder had created a legal and binding codicil that stated whoever owned the town had to be married to do so...and none of the Mistletoe brothers were married. Fortunately (or unfortunately for the brothers, depending on how they looked at it), their mother had the perfect plan to circumvent the codicil...each brother would have a mail-order bride and be married before the New Year hit. This was Mason's story.

Mason was the only one of the sixth Mistletoe brothers who enlisted in the military. During his time there, he was injured, with one of his scars being on his face. Before he had enlisted, he had always been the life of the party, the one who was easy to get along with and made everyone welcome and put them at ease. But ever since he left the service, his outlook on life had changed drastically. He no longer believed in HEAs or fairytales. Nor did he believe that he deserved anything good to happen to him.

It was with that outlook that he approached the upcoming marriage to Mia. He had plans set in place for the marriage to be dissolved as soon as it could be done when the purchase of the town was secure. So when he met Mia at the airport, he had a prenup contract waiting for her to sign, a minister, and two witnesses waiting for the wedding to take place in a room off to the side of the baggage claim. What he wasn't prepared for was to see his bride-to-be on the receiving end of a hug from another man...or that seeing such happen in front of him would cause the possessive and jealous feelings he felt coursing through his body.

When Mia saw Mason for the first time, she was floored that such a handsome man would not only use a mail-order bride website to find a wife but that he would have any interest in her. But after the introductions were made, she wasn't so certain he WAS interested in her, because he was cold, distant, and seemed to be angry about the whole thing. She tried to talk to him to make certain it was what he wanted, but one thing led to another and they ended up married.

After spending several days with just the two of them, Mason took Mia to his home and he returned to work. Unfortunately, that first day apart didn't go so well because when Mia took her new husband lunch, the girl who worked in his parlor caused problems for the newlyweds. Unfortunately, the issue with the employee was never addressed after the two main characters worked things out between themselves, and there was no comeuppance for her interference in their marriage.

Of all the books so far in this series, this was the first one that had any real angst, drama, or OW/OM issues, even if it was all very light. It was also the first book that had a reason for the MMC to be surly and withdrawn.

Both main characters were well-developed and mature, with plenty of room for growth. Unlike many books of this genre, these two talked and worked out their differences rather than just running away. I gave this book a solid four-star rating, even though it had some grammatical errors.

Red and white roses

Mason by Hope Ford is the third book in the multi-author Mail-Order Brides For Christmas series. This story continues the overarching story-line of the series, the Mistletoe brothers must all get married to buy their small mountain town of Snow Valley in order to save it from a big corporation that wants to develop it into a winter ski resort. Their mother does what needs to be done and signs each of the sons up for a mail order bride just in time for Christmas. This story is about Mason Mistletoe who is a complicated man. He used to be the life of the party but when he came home after serving he did not want any attention placed on him. He had been injured which left a very visible reminder on one side of his face. Now he lives on the outside of town and owns a tattoo shop next door to his cabin. Mia Devin is in her early twenties and also has a complicated life. She lost both her parents in a car accident a year ago which meant she inherited the family winery in California. But she cannot bring herself to go there as it reminds her too much of her parents and family. So instead she works as a cashier at the Piggly Wiggly and does the same thing every day, even though she promised herself she would have someone to spend the next holidays with. So one drunken night she signed up with an online matrimony matchmaker, Mail Order Brides for Christmas,. and things went quickly after that. Mia now finds herself flying to Snow Valley to get married to a man she has never met. When Mason and Mia meet for the first time it is at the airport and within minutes they are about to head down the aisle, well not really but there is a minister and witnesses in a room at the airport for the ceremony. Mia and Mason get off on a bit of a rocky footing but they quickly marry and then drive to a cabin in the mountains for their honeymoon. They must learn to communicate with each other as there are several misunderstandings. But one thing is for sure....Mason will do anything for Mia and she is committed to this marriage.

This was a fast-paced and well written story about two people who are coming into an arranged marriage for very different reasons. Mason is all business, guarding his heart and his emotions. Mia is all heart, hoping to make a true connection and finding love and family forever. Getting to know each other is an experiment that sometimes goes wrong and sometimes is very, very right. I really enjoyed this story.

STORY
This story was insanely sweet. It was so sweet, it gave me cavities. I love the concept of mail order bride, but the vibes felt more Beauty and the Beast and either way, I love it.

Mia wants more and with someone since her parents died. Mason, since coming back from service in the military, he keeps to himself. These two feed off and played of each other, and I like their shy at times and bold at other times energy. It was an Insta romance and quick read and I love it from start to end.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scene matched the characters and I liked it. I thought that moment was sweet as well, how it played out.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
There are 6 brothers, Mason being one of them. We weren’t introduced to any, as they are all off doing the same thing as Mason. I am so eager to read each of their stories.

OVERALL
A sweet and sexy read, and I’m here for this new series.

✰✰TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

This is the next book in the Mail Order Brides For Christmas multi-author series and we get Hope Ford's contribution a charming insta-love story. Mason doesn't believe in fairytales or happily ever after anymore not since his time in the military and the scars it left on him some are visible others aren't. He only agreed to getting a wife so that they can save the town and he won't disappoint his mother since it was her idea. Mia has just tragically lost both of her parents and is all alone in the world with the winery her parents left her. She can't bear to go to the winery with her parents gone so she let's it continue running as is. One night while she's really inebriated she signs up for the mail order brides thinking it's what she needs after all it's how her parents met and fell in love. What happens when Mason goes to pickup his bride and is struck by feelings he's never felt before? Mia can't believe how much more handsome Mason is his mom gave her a description but she didn't do him justice. Mason and Mia have an instant connection but he mistakes her silence as doubts about wanting to marry him because of his scars.I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this book to see what happens.

Meh. This is as much a Christmas story as the die-hard Christmas movie debate 🤣
There was a 2 second mention of Christmas.
Most of this was unbelievable and cringe.
Why did they have to get married as soon as she got off the plane in the airport.. why couldn't he drive her somewhere or get married the next day??
I didn't really understand why a tattoo artist needed to get married to save the town either that was very lightly mentioned.
It would have been nice to see the family get together the following week since the mum was mentioned.
There were a lot of words I didn't like "mail order bride" (it was a website she signed up for to have an arranged marriage in a different state?? Not my thoughts of what a mail-order bride is), "consummate the marriage" (what medieval world are we in. And why didn't she react to that at all), "brand me" (again, what world are we in.. just say you want a tattoo from him
. Gees 🙄).
There was no drama or anything in this.
The several epilogues were ridiculous. The last one seemed like a missing chapter, nothing relevant.
I did like that they waited a year until a pregnancy was achieved. At least they spent a year actually getting to know watch other.
Easy quick read if you need a palate cleanse.

Mason is one of six brothers whose mother has arranged marriages for them, by Christmas. All of the brothers decided that they aren't going to interfere with each others arranged marriages.

Mason is a veteran who feels that marriage like his parents' just isn't likely nowadays. He's decided to treat this arranged marriage as a business transaction, that's it.

Mia's parents died in a car crash about a year ago. Last Christmas was a lonely and awful night. She promised herself that next Christmas she'd be with someone. She's still alone when the holiday season starts and one night after having a few drinks, she signs up with Holly Huckleberry's Mail Order Brides For Christmas. She goes through the interview process and even speaks to Joy, Mason's mother. She's hoping this marriage will be real and that maybe they'll have a marriage like her parents.

Obviously, Mason and Mia have very different ideas about this marriage and Ms. Ford handles it all masterfully! A wonderful addition to the Mail Order Brides For Christmas series!

Hope Ford joins the multi-author Mail-Order Brides for Christmas series with Mason. The third of the Mistletoe sons to meet his mail-order bride, Mason and Mia's meet-cute is hardly romantic - he hands her a pre-nuptial agreement then marries her in a room in the airport! But endeavoring to help his mother save their town of Snow Valley, the gruff veteran and tattoo artist never expected to meet a young, curvy beauty who took his breath away and made him feel like a possessive alpha. Mia lost her parents in a car accident a year ago and is feeling lost and in need of connection when she seeks out the matchmaker services that send her to Mason. She also didn't expect to feel so strongly so soon. Can she and Mason both get over their insecurities and open themselves up to what their marriage could be?

Another fabulous, steamy and sweet instalove romance at the capable hand of Ms Ford - the perfect addition to this wonderful holiday romance series!

This is book number 3 of the Mail-Order Brides For Christmas series and focuses on Mason and Mia. Mia is tired of being alone after the death of her parents so she decides to make a big decision and signs up to be a mail-order bride. In order to save his town from a corporate company wanting to buy it out, Mason's mom sets him and all his brothers up with a mail-order bride for Christmas since they all have to be married to be able to buy the town together. Mason is not happy about having to get married and is determined that it is in name only and plans to get a divorce once the purchase is complete. When he meets Mia, he knows that he is planning on keeping her and making her his forever but his insecurities have him getting in his own head a lot. I loved how great the two of them were together and how they navigated their new relationship. This was a great story and a great addition to the series!

'Mason' by Hope Ford is part of the multi-author Mail-Order Brides For Christmas series and tells the story of Mason, part of the Mistletoe family and ex-military, and Mia, who parents have died. Mason's family, The Mistletoes, are part of the main stay of the town and his mother, Joy, has decided that in order to save Snow Valley her six sons need to get married. It is Mason's turn to meet his mail-order bride. Mia's parents died in an accident and she spent last Christmas alone last year but doesn't want to this year. She saw the mail-order bride ad and decided to apply after talking to Joy. Mason is not as enthused but decided if his brothers can do what their Mom wants so can he.

Ms. Ford has written a delightful addition to the series. The book is well written with great characters, an interesting plot, and wonderful dialogue. The story has laughs, secrets, family issues, passion, and plenty of steam. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes some Christmas with their romance.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is another short story in the multi author Mail Order Brides For Christmas series. Mrs Mistletoe has gone to great lengths to find wives for her sons and save the town. Mason has agreed to her plans but never imagines it will last. He is preparing for a way out after they own Snow Valley. When he first sees Mia, he wants her before even knowing that she is already his. It is love at first site for them both, but they still have some issue with communication and personal fears. Once again Joy has help picked another perfect wife. Their story is fast paced, sweet with plenty of steam. I liked both of the characters and even though their story is short, it hit all the marks. At this time of year the market is flooded with a lot of short holiday love stories. I seem to read many but I always look for books written by Hope because she does not disappoint.

In order to stop a company from coming in and purchasing the town and making changes, the Mistletoe brothers agree to purchase the town. There is a caveat to the purchase, they have to be married. All six are single without a significant other. Their mother took matters into her own hands and got six mail order brides for her sons, needless to say they were not happy.

Mason just wants to be left alone, he is scarred, what woman really would want him. He will do what his mom asks to save Snow Valley, then get divorced. That was the plan until he met Mia.

Mia has lost her parents and this mail order bride thing, might be just what she needs for a new change of scenery. She does not need the money, her parents left her their winery, she just cannot bear going there now they are gone.

This is a sweet and steamy story with a HEA.

Mason is a great addition to the Mail - Order - Bride series. Like his brothers, Mason needs to get married to save the town he lives in from being taken over by a Corp. Love for the town runs deep in his family, that Mason's mother arranged for all the brothers to get a bride. Mason use to be the life of the party, they one who was outgoing, that all changed after the scar, now he could not believe anyone could see him as much.

Mia is excited to meet her future husband, but her first impression made he step back. But once she saw beneath his rough mask, she knew she was not going to five up on him.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Mason is a novella in the ‘’mail order brides for Christmas’’ collection.
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Mason is a retired military man. Because of his scars, he doesn’t think he will find love. When his mother gets him and his brothers mail order brides, will he find real love?
The chemistry between Mason and Mia is clear to see and I liked them together.
I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

This was a great short read and I could not put this book down, the emotions and fears both characters experience. Both scared to full open themselves up to the other.
Mia is tierd of being alone and following the same routine everyday. The results after one night drinking to much she finds out she signed up to be a mail order bride, thinking of this as a "sign" she is ready for a change in her life.
Mason doesnt see himself as "husband material" but for him to help save his home town he will play his part and do what he must.
Both Mia and Mason are strongly attracted to eachother and want this marriage to turn out real, but both are scared the other doesnt feel the same.

Mason and his brothers are shocked when their mother arranges mail order brides for them all and for Christmas. Mason likes order and to be alone, since his military career ended with scars and injury. His mother's plan put that I to a spin but he figures it will be short term just enough to save their town then divorce until he meets his bride to be and wants to make it go the distance. Mia signed up to be a mail order bride she's hopeful for the union till she finds out he didn't order her.
Well written festive short mail order romance that keeps you on your toes and swoonworthy romance.

*spoilers* Mason is a hardend ex military who wants to save his town, unfortunately for him he has to get married for it. Mia signed up for an arranged marriage, because her beloved parents found love that way. She lost them and seeks for a partner. There are some misunderstandings, but as soon as they meet, their is this chemistry. After a hard work day this story warmed my heart, only the end came so fast. Would have loved to read how Mia meets the family.
I am excited for the stories of Mason's five brothers, hopefully :o).

This book was absolutely fantastic and I was absolutely enthralled from the beginning until the end and want more. Mia lost her parents and decided to to take a leap of faith and follow in their footsteps and try an arranged marriage but will she find her soulmate or will it fail? Mason has to get married to save his hometown when his mom takes control and arranges a marriage but is it love at first sight or will he get the town safe and divorce his new wife?I absolutely fell in love with both characters and you could connect with their emotions and just felt like you were apart of it. Loved it ❤

A match made in mail ordered bride heaven!!

Mason is a gruff, grumpy, scarred veteran that doesn't believe in a forever love. But, he's agreed to a mail order bride, along with his brothers, to help save their town. Mia, is all alone in the world after losing her parents. She's hoping a forever love match will happen when she meets Mason. One look, that's all it takes for Mason to know that he will do whatever it takes to keep Mia forever. There are a few misunderstandings, but fear not, these two were always meant to be together. Loved it!

Mia is tired of being lonely after her parents pass away and decides to become a mail order bride.
Mason needs a bride fast and a mail order bride seems the only way to make that happen. When he sees Mia his possessiveness surfaces and he needs to make her his. Will she feel the same or will this marriage of necessity become a memory.

Another great read from Hope Ford. Happily ever after in a short read. Certain to bring a smile to your face and make your heart feel happy.
