R. Brady Frost is an author from Northern Utah. Brady spent his early years on the family’s four acres surrounded by tomatoes, giant zucchini, and countless animals and critters.

As the years wore on, Brady discovered an innate love for technology. He was caught sticking a magnet into an electrical outlet at his preschool on Hill Air Force Base and, while he didn’t gain super powers, he soon began dismantling the family’s broken electronics. In time, this behavior spread to taking apart functioning appliances. Before anyone could stop him, he was piecing together his Frankenstein robot army. This may have resulted in more than a few popped fuses but, according to official records, caused no lasting damage.

Brady writes engaging, character-driven stories where his words bring life to the worlds you’ll want to visit again and again. For more information, you can visit R. Brady Frost online at: www.rbradyfrost.com/about/

A winner

Another great book by Mr. Frost. I almost feel like I am right there in the hick of things with the characters.

Frost did not disappoint

I honestly forgot I was even waiting for this sequel. I was checking my unlimited books I read over the past few years and recognized the first book. I was pleased to see the second book had been released.

I thoroughly enjoy Frost's writing style and where he has drawn inspiration. I have fond memories of FFXI and Brian Jacques as well. So seeing this inspirations hit the pages of a litrpg book is fantastic. I can't wait to read the next book.

Take your time and do it right.

A great continuation for a fascinating world

The return of Denton and his party takes darker turns and builds more detail into the fascinating realms of Endworld. I can't wait to get my hands on the next instalment.

One-liner for those who are not interested to read the full review:
The Broken Blade has everything from Frosty Terrian, to Baddy-Bads, Battlehens, Mice Queens, Quests, and more. So pick it up while it is hot!

Where to start? The beginning seems as good a place as any. We reunite with Denton after a short recovery period after his tumultuous encounter with the necromancer in the Duskmorrow Swamp. Given a task by his mentor, we find him looking for Pristine Snowthistles to create an elixir to heal him from his battle with the darkness that has left wounds that won't heal by conventional means. Unbeknownst to Denton and his crew Denton is not only going to find Snowthistles, but something dark that is hovering over the Frostwind Mountains region. Throughout the story, we follow Denton and company as they begin to understand the nature of the world that have found themselves in after death and fight against a new, greater enemy than they have faced before.

Overall, this book felt superior to Brady Frost's initial installment in the series with a Second Chance. Our characters have become more comfortable with who they are and these thoroughly fleshed characters have allowed Frost to begin making larger character arcs for each of them. To be honest, one of my favorite aspects of this series is that Frost pays attention to each of his characters and the unique struggles that they each contend with. As well, Frost expertly avoids the monotomous feeling one can get in the LitRPG genre when seeing the same place again and again. Within the Broken Blade, we are introduced to new regions and new people giving EndWorld a fresh face. The world of EndWorld has grown in its vastness with promising hints laid throughout the pages of new terrain and new regions to come in forthcoming installments within the series. Then, of course, there is the story that is being told within the story. I am not going to lie, I was concerned when I began the book that we were going to find ourselves in a five hundred paged retrieval quest, but my concern was quickly diminshed. Denton and crew have many different moving pieces to contend with and I cannot help but be astonished at how Frost was able to weave it all together so that I could not turn the page fast enough. From meeting MagicBeard to the small animal fighting rings at the capitol, I could not consume it fast enough. Then there was the ending of the story, I find that authors will often forgo the sense of a completed story for the return of laying the groundwork for a future installment. Frost has proven that both can be accomplished with the ending of his second book in the series, A Battle Mage Reborn.

This review has turned into a love letter for Frost and his books, but I should also state some of my less favored opinions about the book to give a full and fair assessment. While Denton and his crew continue to be some of my favorite characters within the genre of LitRPG, I cannot help but state that they also can be annoying at times. Denton was particularly aggravating at times with his self-depreciation, and while that his part of Denton's arc it began to feel repetitive. Another aspect is that of the dialogue between the characters, at certain points I felt the drama to be stronger than necessary to convey the feelings of our characters. If you have decided to pick up the second book, then you are beginning to understand each of the characters and how they respond to certain situations. I felt, for a very small part of the book, that I grew bored of Pop's and Raven's emotional expressions and dialogue because it did not feel real.

With all of that being said, this is an utterly fantastic story with everything a fantasy or LitRPG reader is looking for within a story.
Large world-building elements, check.
Horrifying monstrosities, check.
Epic battle scenes, check.
Character growth, check.
Intriguing quests, check.
Gaming mechanics, check.
MagicBeard, check.
So, in summary, I would highly recommend checking out this story and the world that Frost has built. If you have found yourself reading this and you have not checked out the first book, then I would highly recommend checking that one first. However, if you are like me and you've finished the first book then I can say that you will find what few authors can attest to. Frost outdid himself with his second installment with his series.

The book is very slow and left me rather unsatisfied. Once again the help and victories of the MC felt undeserved and rather forced and he seems to get too many boons.

The story itself felt strange as well: a lot flower picking, survival by sheer luck, running away, talks and thoughts about friendship, several times unexpected help from strangers and strange visions of (im)possible happenings in his old life..
