Thanks to my lying, cheating, disappearing ex-fiancée, I had completely given up on relationships, until her.
When I saw her, I knew had to have her. So I did, but then she disappeared into the night.
The next time I saw her, she wasn't alone, and he had my eyes.
But something wasn't right.
Running from a haunted past, she ghosted me again, leaving too many unanswered questions.
Then the next time I saw her, she's no longer single.
Yet something tells me she'd rather be.
Kalista
The first time I met him, we had sex.
I was supposed to be there to tell him the truth.
Just when I thought our lives had turned around, everything went sideways and we were back where we started again.
How could I admit all my shortcomings and risk everything?
He was the light in my darkness.
Only one problem. the past that haunts us.
The fear that everything I loved could be taken away.
Or would he be man enough to save us?

"Back up" is book 2 in the 'Legacy in Blue' series; and the other siblings/ stories are woven in throughout. Kat Ensmore does a great job of portraying the emotional turmoil, guilt, and strife associated with past drug use and a current abuse partner. I appreciated that finding Mr. Right didn't magically solve all of the FMC's problems. I would have liked to see more of the happy every after between Kali and Reed, the story ended when they finally got together. Great character development and growth, some timeline errors, could use another once over to hammer out when characters know certain things / when the hotel incident happens. Overall high drama and enjoyable, kept me hooked.
