I am a family nurse practitioner, and I have a few Hashimoto’s patients I have under my care. This has helped me to take care of them and improve their lives. I recommend the book to any person with the disease or a provider wanting to really do better than what we do in the western field. My only beef with the book is that he didn’t do references like other books. He has them at the end, but I prefer looking at a claim and then looking at the study to see if the claim is justified by the evidence. Otherwise, I learned a lot.
Dr Gupta is actually my personal functional medicine physician. i also work in the functional medicine realm so i was very excited to read his book. I think this is an excellent place for those suffering from Hashimoto’s or even just low thyroid hormone to start or improve what they are already doing to gain better health. It is very simple (non of that medical jargon that no-one understands) to comprehend.
The book was okay, but not as informative as Izabella Wentz's books. It is interesting to me that there are not a lot of doctors that treat this condition. I am still trying to get an appointment with a specialist, but it is not hopeful, even though I have excellent insurance!
As a Hashimoto’s patient, I’m loving this book. It’s short, brief and to the point. It covers root causes, nutrient deficiencies & supplements. Unlike most books about Hashimoto’s, the author doesn’t spend entire paragraphs praising himself. I highly recommend it.
