WWF Presents Stone Cold Steve Austin collects issues 1-4 of the Chaos Comics series written by Steven Grant with art by James Fry and Eddy Barrows.

::Glass Shattering:: WWE wrestling legend Stone Cold Steve Austin stars in this comic series as himself. Austin arrives in a dusty rural town in Texas and immediately gets himself in trouble with the local sheriff when he stops a cult from harassing a young woman. The sheriff wants nothing to do with Austin in his town and encourages local gang leaders to take out Austin so that he does not uncover the illegal drug and money laundering going on behind the scenes.

This book was so much FUN! It doesn’t take itself serious with Austin delivering stunners and spouting his catch phrases at least once per issue. It’s a pretty simple story of drug and money laundering in a small town with a crooked sheriff, but it’s elevated to epic levels of campiness with ol’ Stone Cold as the protagonist. Steven Grant must have watched a lot of WWE back in the day because he sounds exactly like Austin would in these situations. The art is pretty good throughout (With Fry’s work in the first two issues being stronger in my opinion.) and does a great job of capturing Steve Austin’s likeness, just adding about 50 pounds of muscle. This should be a must read for any wrestling fan. And that is the bottom line because Stone Cold said so!

This wasn't bad, but a little cheesy. I liked the way they made Stone Cold into an ant-hero rather than a pro wrestler, as this read like a modern day western or an early Steven Segal flick. The art isn't bad, but it does get silly at times as Stone Cold keeps saying his catch phrases over and over, and also, he didn't use many weapons and he was fighting guys with guns. He also kept using his wrestling holds over and over.

So overall, a little silly, but kind cool at the same time.
