Loving the Chase

Rate this book
I had a plan on how I’d handle living with my new gorgeous, world-famous, billionaire, step-brother:

I’d look, but not touch.
Get his attention just enough to stroke my ego and then back off. No harm in that, right? Unfortunately for me, Chase Kavanaugh had plans of his own…

And his plans included touching – a lot of touching in ways no man had ever touched me before.

And did he care what I had to say about it? No.
Does he care what I want now? Apparently not.
So then why is it I can’t stop thinking about him?
Why does my heart race every time he’s around and feel so empty when he’s gone?

After surviving my first encounter with Chase’s cruelty, all I should want is to be left alone, so what is it this scorching heat inside of me that keeps pulling me back to him?
But if Chase thinks I’ll be his little toy, he’s sadly mistaken.
Either he’ll destroy me, or I’ll destroy him.

Author’s Note:
Chase is a bad-boy, a real anti-hero with layer upon layer of depth for Becka to discover and a very serious redemption arc. I wanted to write a complex man who will make you swoon, make you angry, but who will also make you love him and never forget him.
This book is a DARK, BULLY romance and may trigger some readers who are sensitive to things common in dark romance.

I have so many mixed feelings about this one.
It's only heroine's pov, so I didn't get a good feel of the hero and in the end I just didn't buy his 'love' for her. It seemed like a big joke.
In the beginning the hero was straight up awful and he raped her, there's no question about that. After that he was straight up bipolar. I didn't know when he meant something or when he was serious and the heroine didn't either. She was just so hung up on his good looks that she didn't care about anything else.
Speaking of the heroine. She was... damn, I have no words. Just when I thought she was going to do something awesome, like setting his house on fire because he had two semi-naked women inside, she goes and offers herself to him out of the goodness of her own heart. No, this didn't work. She could have been such a cool heroine, but she ended up a young, confused young girl who was just as bipolar as the H.
No one was in their right minds here.

Don't read if you're looking for logic, character development or anything remotely making sense.

Safety: not safe?

"Why would he do that?”
“Probably because he’s aware of the fact that your dad died on you and you have serious abandonment and daddy issues and if he plays on your insecurities he can turn you into his desperate, subservient sex slave?”
Gut punch.

Let me start by saying that Jaime is a damn fool. It hurts to say this. I am hurt to call her a damn fool because she has the same exact name as my mechanic and I love him.

Since, our heroine is a lollipop 🍭 head broad there is nothing we can do to redeem her. As you all know this is a dark one and the heroine is also crazy young. The age of consent is taken into accountability and that’s where the consent ends.

If you are uncomfortable 😳 with force do not touch this book. It pushes limits that even made me have pause. I love dark books but my dark comes in many flavors.

"Cough cough 😷 !!"
"Murder(execution style)"

I love everything I’ve read by Jenna so far but I have no idea how to rate this read. I wanted to give it a review because the writing is super awesome !!
I realized as I continued reading this that I believe the idea was supposed to be a daddy and little relationship. It’s supposed to be built on trust and Jaime is too jealous and too silly for trust to even be a factor. Jaime has major Daddy issues and Chase is filling a void.

However, can that work considering Chase is literally es el Diablo 😈?? Come on, when you see man candy like him ,driving around in luxury cars and forcing ladies, what do you think? You think rich guys using women to the highest extent !!! Chase is literally sour and sweet sour patch kids style!!

At the end of the day I love Jenna. I want to love this book too. It deserves a star ⭐️ rating but I’m on the fence and I want to make all the right decisions. Until then I’ll just sit in my corner and think.
😘😘happy reading everyone 🥰🥰!!

WOW! This is a dark bully romance and you should take note of the triggers before reading this book. I hated Chase at first, I thought he was truly awful and then I thought that Becka was a nutcase (think Fatal Attraction) and needed some serious help(padded room type help)! The characters have an instant love/hate relationship and their chemistry is on fire. It does have a HEA.

This one is bad honestly
We have the most ridiculous h lol, she is so childish, whinny and so extra gosh, her and her OTT crush for her step brother.,.. i read other book about h being like this BUT not that EXTRA lol.
I just couldn't, she is so annoying and stupid.
The H it's another weird one, lol, rough indeed and i think crazy too.
I could put it with him but not with her , to much ...really.
Not into it at all.

i should have been able to tell how cliché and embarrassing this book would be based off of the cover. it says “billionaire step-brother romance” but throughout the book, it barely mentions much about him being a billionaire so frankly, it’s quite an irrelevant thing to add. only reason i gave this 3 stars was because the sex was hot, but even that was nothing special. also, can we talk about the forced blowjob at the beginning of the book? literally what was that? it was unnecessary and did nothing for the plot of the book.

What I didn't like about this book: first, there is no hero's POV, second, the heroine herself personally. I always forgive the heroines for their stupid actions due to their young age, but this heroine simply infuriated me with her every act! she has the thoughts of a teenager with a transitional age - "I dream about one thing, but do the opposite!" And I expected more villainous actions from the hero, he started so well, but was blown away very early!
This is the first time I have given three stars to a book in which the heroine is a virgin. I am so discouraged by this book! I had very high expectations from her !!!
I love when the hero chases the heroine, when he does all the terrible things out of jealousy and does everything to make the heroine belong to him. the opposite is true in this book!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Becka was so excited to meet her new stepbrother Chase, as much as she tries to deny it she has a falling in love with her handsome stepbrother fantasy in the back of her mind although their first meeting destroys any possibility of that ever happening or so she thinks but when the Chase she met originally morphs into someone she wants to know better will she discover the real Chase and what he is all about or will he destroy her heart and leave her broken?

Chase is used to women wanting him and adoring him so when he made the visit to meet his new stepmother and stepsister, he wasn’t prepared for Becka, barely out of high school she was nothing like he was expecting and what she was wearing evoked a reaction he wasn’t ready to acknowledge and sets about destroying what he knew she was hoping for. Only this girl was the one that had him on the hop, and it isn’t something he has ever experienced before. Will Chase destroy what he could have with Becka or embrace a future, or will it all be too late?

I am not going to lie, I hated, and I do mean hated Chase at the beginning, he was degrading, and I didn’t understand where his character was coming from, I was wondering if I would get to the end of the book after his behavior but there was something between him and Becka that kept me invested and whilst this book was never going to appeal to everyone, I ended up loving it. Becka was crazy and showed Chase that she wasn’t going to be walked all over in the most unconventional way. There are definitely TRIGGERS within this book so be warned. 4.5* Read

This story is about Chase and his stepsister Becka. He is a bully and loves to bully Becka. But Becka fights against it. It's kind of a push/pull and love/hate relationship. For my tastes too much sometimes ,but that is my personal preference 😉 I really hated Chase at first but as he remedied himself... I kind of liked him. Personally not my favorite Jenna Rose book, but worth a try if you love bully romance 👍👍👍 It made me feel all kind of emotions.. I felt angry, sad, hatred, disgust, happy and everything in between. Hot scenes and their chemistry was off the charts whenever they didn't fight/banter😍😍

I literally had to stop at page 46, Jenna Rose you really thought you ate? What in the actual eff is this this? From -0 to a 1000. There's so many things to unpack here. She dressed in a slutty outfit so what? How does that justify anything that he has done. Eww this is the worst bully romance book ever. He violated her for no reason and I can't believe she was into it, if it was me I would have to find a way to chaw iron and spit fire.

Becka goes from living in a normal neighborhood to living in a big mansion after her mother marries a rich man, who also has a son with money, Chase.
The day Becka meets him she feels a great attraction to him, but soon she realizes that he is an arrogant asshole, that she does not hesitate to show her stepsister what he feels for her.
They both start a completely taboo secret relationship and fall in love and have their HEA.
Super hot, taboo, Becka has a kinky side with daddy issues that Chase fills to perfection.

h was an annoying pick-me girl that would not attract a drunken plumber let alone a young handsome billionaire. I wonder if the author has ever left the house or if she's stuck in painter pants and a snow-white sweatshirt while singing along to Totoro all day. So much yikes.

DNF at 64%! Can't believe I even made it to that point.

There is a reason I tend to steer away from only one POV books, and this one just reminded me why.

I'll be honest, the only reason I picked this up was for the cover and because it supposedly had one of my favorite tropes ever (Dark bully). But lemme tell you, there was absolutely nothing dark or even slightly bully about this 🙄

This was a contrived, extremely confusing book that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. The entire time I was just scratching my head trying to figure out how they both went from point A to point Z in about 0.6 seconds. Like seriously, WTF happened there? He was mean to her and straight up raped her in the first 40 or so pages because she was dressed in a slutty outfit? Like what the actual fuck? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ And then he seemed to have a personality transplant. I swear if the author explained that he had a bipolar disorder and didn't take his meds that day the story would have been so much better and made a hell of a lot more sense.
And don't even get me started on the heroine. I've read about some annoying, bratty TSTL h's, but my GOD, this h has to be in my worst top 3. There was NOTHING about her that was intriguing, interesting or redeeming. She was just an annoying, sniveling brat with no dignity or self-esteem. I HATED her. (Sidenote: I don't think we ever got the h's description, or if we did I missed it, so all I did was picture a blank shadow the entire time.)

My 2 stars are for the cover and the h's best friend Jaime, who at least seemed to have 2 working brain cells. Everything else was mediocre to downright terrible.

Obviously I hated the Hero (obvious reasons)
By I found the h so like-able it actually made me enjoy the story. Especially how she got back at him for what he did to her.
I feel my review would be a bit controversial but oh well

I normally don't give anything below a 4 star rating, but I know this book while I really did enjoy the story there was too many thing's that stood out wrong. This story does have the potential to be a fantastic story, but the immaturity of Becka the stepsister and the acts of Chase the step brother were something else. In the beginning of the book with what happens I thought at first he was doing it to teach her a lesson, but that turns out to not be the case. Then afterwards he buys her something and redeems himself, but then this crazy girl decides she's going to be vindictive over something she see's and pulls her little stunt and everything is kinda swept under the rug wtf😳 I thought I was getting whiplash with the way these 2 were towards each other. I don't know how I feel towards Chase, but Becka, that girl was something else.

This is a new author to me, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Chase is a complex, bullying, bad boy, who is a billionaire and is Becka’s stepbrother. Becka is young and awkward, but she knows what she wants and goes all out to het it. These two have a love / hate relationship but the chemistry between them in combustible and undeniable. This is a well written story which is dark, raw, gritty, intense, and with tension, bullying, twists, and love, which leads to a steamy and all-consuming addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend. Be aware there may be triggers for some reader due to the sensitive content!

I enjoyed this book even though it's a really intense dark bully romance. The storyline keeps you hooked and turning the pages to see what's going to happen next in their love/hate relationship. They have such amazing chemistry together but they fight it with the push/pull dynamic in their relationship. I loved the complexity of the characters and how raw, intense, dramatic and dark their story was. I would definitely recommend this book if you're into bully romance and like dark romance then you'll enjoy this book. I look forward to future books by this author.

this sucks because the book seemed like it had potential, but their first encounter and how he basically said “you were asking for it.”. then, throughout the book, becka tries justifying it (twice if i recall correctly), and say “he did it because he knew i had daddy issues.”. like girlll, i have daddy issues but i never had my boyfriend force himself in my mouth, force me to swallow, and leave me with the fear that he was going to rape me. plus, there was no sign of consent or want in that scene, which made it so bad. that’s ridiculous, it feels like the people rating this book 4+ stars read this book with both eyes closed

Wow! At first I hated Chase, thought he was abhorrent. Then I thought that Becka was an absolute nutcase & needed serious help. Some stuff I’m not sure how it all just gets swept away with no backlash but I guess it is fiction. The heat between these two is seriously intense, there are D/lg scenes and some questionable moments but they seem to make it all work out between them and the ending is sweet and steamy at once.

So just when I think I have found my favorite Jenna Rose books, well the. She goes and writes this one. I could not put this one down, I finished it on one sitting and once you read it you will understand why. You will experience a whirlwind of emotions. From hate, anger, revenge, lust, lust, lust, love, and happiness. I will warn there is some darkness to this one. This book gets down and very dirty so dont be supried if your tablet catches fire. Dont miss out on this great story.

This was Ms. Jenna just full novel and I thought that this was a wonderful book. This is a dark bully book and should be warned of triggers before reading but this book is worth reading. This was a page turned for me. There was a lot of steam, tension but a really good HEA. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Jenna as a must read author.

The author just threw me out of the loop. I thought Chase was a bad guy and Becks the innocent girl but it was the other way around. The author managed to make me like Chase, he is a nice guy, truly; and declare Becks crazy obsessed with him, really. Overall it’s a good story.

I just realized what the title meant, good one!

I really enjoy this trope, and with the added bully factor, I knew I had to read it!

The angst I have come to enjoy from this trope was there in spades!

Becka. What can I say that I wish she was a bit older, and sophisticated. But, that's just my opinion.

I enjoyed Chase, yes I know! But really, I did!

This was an easy one sitting read for me, and I enjoyed page after page!

Ms. Rose kept my interest, and had me fanning myself!!!

Really enjoyed!
Loved that it was a full length novel.
The characters were really well developed and you got to know them as the story went on.
The storyline was good and flowed really well.
Each interaction and scene was better than the last.
You could feel the depth of emotions and feelings coming from the characters and I loved that their romance was a little more drawn out giving you more time to savor it.

Horrible.

The guy was vague, a jerk, and you still agent sure about the sa scene in the beginning, (you aren't sure because it is horrible and her friend as well as the fe!ale lead both agree he forced her but later talking to him she's says he knew she liked it rough. Female lead is obsessive, jumps to conclusions the whole book, and does nothing but cry and freakout so she's definitely an immature 18 yr old whose desperate for her step bro

Sooo the "heroine" is a bit insane. Ok very insane, and it hard to read honestly. She gets raped, then thinks he loves her because of a gift, and then burns the guys house down because he's with other girls the day after. Suddenly they are in love without any time actually spent together outside of the rape, awkward family dinners and house burning down episode. Lets not forget stalking him out to LA on a private jet instead of calling him. This was just a mess.

No trigger warnings

Authors leave trigger warnings for rape and assault. If that sort of thing doesn't bother some readers that's fine but you leave the other readers in the dark you get invested in the book and then find you can't finish it. Also I would like to say that I'm not very good on leaving reviews. I really appreciate the other readers who leave a good review they do much better than the authors and describing the book. Thank you

Loving the Chase is an intense, dark bully read. The characters have an instant love/hate relationship and their chemistry is on fire. Chase is your typical rich alpha hole and Becks is so young and awkward but I loved her. She knows what she wants and goes to any length to get it. She had me shaking my head a few times, LOL! This is a good love story with lots of twists and turns.

Becka plans to have a little fun with her new step-brother Chase who happens to be gorgeous and a world-famous billionaire. The only problem is that Chase has some plans of his own. Will Becka be able to keep up with Chase? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, steam and emotion. Great characters with intense chemistry. I liked it.
