Ember is a succubus, consuming in every sense.

I was whipped for her, lashed in front of the entire Nobility, and I should despise her for it.

I get on my knees for no man or woman, yet my father forced me down on them for access to an amateur tape. A wide-angle view in night vision mode where our eyes glow like ferrets and our bodies came together in blurry, green twists, yet I protected it from my father anyway.

Protected her.

Chased Ember down on the night of the challenge that should’ve killed her—and let’s be honest, she should’ve died a few times now, escaping death with the skill of a nimble rabbit until ultimately, jaws will sink into her haunches—and buckled in front of her.

Me. Bleeding and weak, opening myself up to her, and for what?

I’m forever tied to the Briars, enemies of the Weatherbys. Savannah Merricourt is labeled as my intended, and I should accept it, as I do everything, because my father’s too powerful and I’ve been locked in the basement too many times.

Outwardly, I can do what he wants while actively ruminating on my own pathway to independence. That simply doesn’t work when I’m imprisoned for weeks on end.

And so, like I stated to Ember, we’re at an impasse. All of us.

A truce? Never.

LIAR is the third and final installment of the dark and spicy Thorne of Winthorpe Academy series. It may contain triggering content, such as bullying, enemies-to-lovers themes, and mature situations. Recommended for those 17+.

The Third Book Wrap Up. Tropes A’ Plenty

Savannah is back.

The girl whose disappearance occupied the thoughts ( almost other things) of Ember throughout two books.

The spark the made her pursue Virtue membership.

The spark that made her pursue Damion Briar’s alleged shady dealings.

Yeah. THAT girl that…

Ember was told time, and time, again that she looked like.

(BTW?! Is it my imagination, I swear Savannah’s eye colour keeps changing)

So.

Now what?

Well, Savannah’s reappearance is part of the premise of this third book.

Where Ember finally gets her wish ? 🤔 and becomes a Virtue after the challenges that NEVER stopped.

(I was actually disappointed that Thorne managed to win over the Nobles and get Ember accepted, I didn’t want her to get in.)

The third book

Where ( bio ) Daddy Malcom Weatherby May, finally gets a backbone.

( Actually!
I thought it was a lot to ask of a recently resurfaced Dad - Malcom, to

Push ?

Guilt trip?

Press Gang?

Ember into obtaining information on Damion Briar and the Nobles so he could go to the FBI. )

The Wrap Up Book.

The book where we KNOW we are in for major drama.

And!

In the case of Ember and Thorne, LOTS of dirty, deviant breath play while these two crazy kids pleasure each other.

Quite frankly, it’s amazing these two made it all the way to the third BOOK before they finally FINALLY… had full on S€GGS

And!

When they DO!…Well… You know Ember won’t be leaving without walking with a F limp.

Every.

I MEAN EVERY hole was filled.

I know, I know, I haven’t given a synopsis yet and I’m already into the deviant.

Well.

Isn’t THAT basically the impetus for this entire third book?

Ember and Thorne’s kinks???

Yeah, Yeah, we all KNEW that we were going to get front row seats to the implosion of Damion Briars empire, and both the Societies, particularly the Nobles but…
It’s really all about Ember and Thorne.

Well, dear series readers, if you are here for a soft landing HEA after all that plotting and deviancy you will not be disappointed.

Thorne Briar got his epiphany moment where he had to suck up everything he had been taught by Daddy and find a conscience, as well as a little bit of empathy.

And.

The good, shy, innocent girl Ember, turned deviant for the dark brooding Thorne Briar.

Seriously, people, Ember’s body 😂 throughout was constantly betraying her.

I mean, this girl had nipples that could cut glass.

A constantly wet P, and underwear, her CORE could stoke a furnace.

And

Thorne was constantly tenting his trousers..😂 I kid you not

These two were at it like rabbits every time they were in orbit if each other.

Look.

I’m not going to kink shame Ember, even though it’s not my thing, however if a book is a dark romance, then KEEP IT DARK!!!

I ain’t got time for any soppy, hallmark, leads catching feelings, getting ready for the HEA!!!
Nope.

Not interested.
( Ugh! …the epilogue 🙄 )

It was no surprise that, we ventured into trope-ville

Whenever Ember finds herself in a highly dramatic, dangerous situation, Thorne had the ability to magically appear.
It’s just a matter of waiting for things to unfold for him to eventually show up…
EVERY. SINGLE TIME.

And he’s such a charmer with the sweet talk

“If you’re willing to have my C in your A I’m fairly certain I own some of your trust. Now get. Over. Here.”

Also.

It would be remiss of me to not leave this review without making mention of what happens when these two are stuck in a tree together ( when Ember was making her dash to freedom)

I know it was probably meant to be hot but, it came across as hilarious.

Poor Malcolm is being dragged away to the catacombs to God knows WHAT fate and, these two are gettin, it on …IN A TREE!!!

Yeah, forget about Malcolm it’s time to pleasure each other

IN A TREE!!!

Oh I said that already 😂

Sorry if this review has been mainly about the hook ups between these two, but as far as the plot was concerned, Well, we all know that Ember with her snooping and constant poking her nose into other peoples stories, was going to come out as the hero.
( She has no filter and NEVER tell this girl a secret.)

The girl who takes down the psycho Damion Briar and, not one, but both, Noble and Virtue Societies.

Yeah, we could all see that coming the minute she didn’t get on that damn plane with Daddy Malcolm 🙄

And by the end?
She is blissing it up on a beach but with who? 🤔

Well.
WHO DO YOU THINK? …Ding! Ding! HEA
( Damn HEA’s !!! 😣 )

idk what’s next from this author but I’m glad I read this series.

I literally am sitting here after finishing and wondering where I should begin with this review and why my rating is 41/2 stars.

Idk what it is but I felt like Ember and Thorne kind of grew on me, in the end. But I’ll have to be brutally honest, I didn’t like how half this book, which I’d roughly say 60% (imo) was all 53x and I did a lot of 🙄. Look don’t get me wrong I’m not against it but d@mṉ it’s like that’s all they do and at times it took away the reason why the book is interesting.

Since meeting Ember in book 1, this is a whole new series regarding the Nobles and Virtues. The story for me took off in book 2 and then when book 3 came along, I felt like I was so over Ember and Thorne’s drama that I just wanted to know what happened to Savannah and not getting enough view time with her father.

Now which brings me to Thorne, omg what can I say, but he’s that alpha male, who’s so arrogant and just straight up one big major @$$h0/3 you hate, that you just can’t help thinking he’s that little boy who has been molded into by his father.

I don’t like writing long reviews, what I do like is both H and h has their own POVs (which is a bonus), and all I can say is, pick this series up, read it, enjoy Ember and Thorne and the crazy and twisted drama as it unfolds. You’ll be hooked with where loyalties lie, and soooo much angst and hair pulling but with some heartache as well, so I just to get one last say in before I end.

That epilogue 😉.

You wait the entire series for the epic grovel. I felt I was let down. I was at like 80% then you get the big finale, 90% and they are at a stalemate and not talking, 97% they say I love you and go on the run The End.

Ugly truths are finally revealed!

Thorne is an alpha a$$hole whom you love to hate. Yet his kink and dirty mouth and skill kept Ember coming back for more!

#treesex #whoknew 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😲😳

This definitely is not your typical book on high school bullying. The bullying depicted is taken to a whole unbelievably twisted, dark level and yet I couldn't look away even though I knew there was going to be fallout of epic proportions. I simply couldn't turn the pages fast enough to know what was going to happen next.

I was totally immersed in Thorne and Ember's story!

4.2/5 ⭐️

Complete honesty…I devoured this series. At first it was difficult bc the premise is very similar to another book series I read (that I didn’t like). But once I got over that, I was strangely addicted. Ember pissed me off wayyy too much. I still don’t understand why she stayed. Thorne was an asshole that played tug-a-war with Ember but grew on me a little bit. Aurora should’ve been taken out the game (if yk what I mean).

I did like the ending bc I like to see men grovel ahahaha. Well all of it besides that last sentence bc I feel like I got edged. But I would recommend this series (only if you like bully romance!!!)

Perfect finale to this series!

This is Ketley’s darkest story yet and I am 1000% here for it! It was everything my dark heart desires - secret societies, violence, and very specific sexual tastes.

Thorne and Ember turned out to be so much more than I could imagine. Both tough, strong and clearly each other’s other half. I mean, these two will pretty much go all the way to get what they want, even if it hurts each other beyond repair. When I thought, ok that’s enough you two, Ketley pushes the envelope and writes some amazing jaw dropping moments.

This is bully romance and it’s finest!

I really did like the first two books, and was looking forward to this one. It started off with potential but quickly fell flat. The storyline was chaos, and lacked consistency. There were even things the author wrote in the other two books, and changed it like we'd all forget, for this biok. It felt like everything was thrown together hastly, the editing was even off.
Ember was almost a different character from the first two books, and Thorne had no growth or character development. Yet things happen in this book and you wonder when did that happen, what did you miss?
Overall rushed and poorly written. Ruined the whole series, I wouldn't recommend.

Man this was a disappointment.

The first two books were great but this one was just plain awful.

The plot twists didn’t have the surprise element. The story itself contained too much smut and too little plot.

Honestly? Both Thorne and Ember need fucking therapy.

Hated it

The first two books had potential but I was disappointed and hated the story line. The series had so much going for it too. Made the female character weak, and so different from the first two books it was like reading a different character.

sigh

Okay I kept going to see if it got any better but I can honestly say this is the worst ending I’ve read in a long time. The whole thing was throw together and everything comes to a a head about 75% of the way through the book. So rushed and poorly written.

This was an amazing conclusion and just mind blowing at the same time like so many things are happening at once we kind of find out who Ember's birthmother is and how she came to be. We learned as to why Malcolm never wanted to talk to amber about who her birth mother is. Things between Ember and Thorne get very heated. We find out a lot more about Savannah. So yeah a lot of things are happening at once and things start coming into place I gotta save this 1 amazing series to read honestly I like this more than the Briarcliff series.

So the story picks with Savannah's now being back. The story thats being told was that she had been "held for ransom for a policy her father was going to approve". She starts back up with school at the same time she is to re-entering the Virtues but there's a complication. There can only be 12 members within the Virtues and with Ember being a member makes it 13. Damion the King of the Nobles tries every possibility to get Ember kicked out. So then a challenge is proposed between Ember and Savannah on who can make the unwilling participant pass out first or worse. It's at this moment we see Savannah Seriously unhinged. To make sure that the individual doesn't suffer too much she takes a paddle and smack some repeatedly against the head until he passes out. It is then decide that they will go ahead and keep both members with in the society for the Virtues. Things for grass after this not for the better. Between ember and thorn She ends up giving her virginity to him And it's very heated And Thor can't get enough of it considering he takes again and 1 of the classrooms is the next day. On a random day Savannah shows up at Ember's home to pick her up and driver her to school. Savannah makes a detour on stopping at cemetery where she confronts Ember on what her motives are being in the Virtues. Savannah then confesses to Ember where she really was and what had really happened. Add this confession I blew my mind I was not expecting that it was twisted. This thing's progress to where we find out that Damion knew that Malcolm was talking to the FBI the whole time at the only reason to bring Ember into the picture was to bring him under his thumb. Amber makes a plan on morning to take down Damion for everything he's done. Damian catches wind of what Ember's planning. Thornes comes in time to rescue her from his father and the other members, after this Ember divulge a major secret she had found out and felt that Thorne deserved the truth of it. Damion then plans to end their line completely in the societies. Damion has Malcom branded as a traitor, he also makes it known about who her birth mother is and how she came to be. What really puts a nail in the coffin was that Apparently Thorne knew the whole time, knew the truth. With this revelation Ember feels betrayed By Thorne. After the events that happens in the catacombs Ember context the police which gets involved with the FBI to give them evidence of what they need to bring Damion down. A few weeks go by and Ember wants nothing to do with Thorne. In a small heated argument in the cafeteria Ember confesses that she loves Thorne and he's taken back by it, but then confesses he too loves her. Together they decide to take down his father by stealing all of his crypto currencies, and apparently they do. Now it's not clear but it kind of implies that at the very end she is pregnant. So that's kind of interesting.
I love the series this was such a good read I can't get over how much I enjoyed it. When I 1st read the briarcliff series last year I was really liking it because it was a secret societies it was high school. What the series it's very much similar with basically in the same universe but completely in a different place But I believe this one had so much more potential than the other series. Considering it seemed like a lot more was happening.

This is the thrilling conclusion to Thorne and Ember's story and it is ACTION. PACKED. Savannah's been "returned" and we finally get to delve into the secrets of her disappearance and let's just say, I was not expecting that particular curveball.

Through this whole book my heart hurt for Ember. Although, the strength she gained throughout this story was awe inspiring. She definitely found her backbone. Thorne is frustrating. Their chemistry is palpable and he's still being... stubborn. It's sad that he was so unfamiliar with the feeling of love that he didn't even realize that was the emotion he was feeling towards Ember until it was almost too late. It's just a testament to exactly how much of a monster his father is. Their ending was hard fought and satisfying.

We also learned why Malcolm had been so standoffish to Ember throughout this series and it shattered my heart for him. I loved that the chaos of this story slowly formed a bond between Ember and Malcolm. One they so desperately deserved. I've had a hate-hate relationship with Malcolm through the series, but learning the truth? All of his actions make sense now and are completely understandable.

Savannah was not at all what I expected. Not at all. She was terrifying as she teetered on the razor edge of sanity. The only question left that wasn't answered is WHY she and Ember looked like twins. I really wanted to know why, but with all of the other answers we learned (and some we didn't even know were questions), that one unanswered question is a small price.

And, side note: I absolutely LOVE Jaxon. Wouldn't mind seeing him get his own story at some point.

I definitely recommend this book and series to read, especially if secret societies are your jam.

It’s been a minute since I was in the world of Thorne and Ember! This is book three, and the final, for these two and it was filled with lots of drama, twist and turns and and honestly it was maddening!

To refresh, Ember comes to Winthorpe when she finds out that she was adopted and her real father is Malcolm Weatherby. What she discovers is a hidden world of secrets, lies, a missing girl, secret societies and the Briars. She is determined to uncover all the secrets.

Thorne… whew. Was he this dominant in the first two books? I guess he was but he took it to another level in this book. His hot and cold with Ember drove me insane. And with the return of Savannah, his actions were infuriating!

I wanted more from Ember. I wanted her to put Savannah in her place rather than be so sympathetic with her. In the end, Savannah wasn’t really the bad guy… but still. And all it took was for Thorne to essentially touch her and she forgives him??? Come on. I needed her to fight a little bit more. He never even explained why he said “she meant nothing” - but I have to give it to the author because Thorne doesn’t grovel, and she certainly kept true to that!

I liked this book and the series a lot. It’s filled with so many twist and turns it will have your head spinning! Really good and not “too” predictable. But I feel like I need some closure on some of these characters! What happens with Savannah, Damion… the society?

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5

WOW! The finale we needed to this dark bully romance. What is endured by all of our MCs and lesser society members that play important roles is much darker than the related Briarcliff series, so check those TWs friends! This book had action, intrigue, mystery, secret societies, violence, specific kinks, suspense, darkness, deceit…the list goes on! My jaw dropped so much while reading this final installment, and so many ugly truths were revealed!

Ember and Thorne are a pairing that appear toxic at first glance, but at the end of the day just work and make sense in the chaos that is their lives. They each are passionate in their beliefs, and commit fully to get what they want, even if it will hurt the other person. There are times when you feel like, okay, that’s enough, but then the author goes and blows your mind to make your jaw hang slack.

The only thing that would’ve made me a bit happier would have been complete closure surrounding Thorne’s father, but we can’t always get everything that we want (but the very last page of the epilogue makes up for that, IMO).

I can’t help it, but Ember and Thorne will live rent free in my head; they are an addictive mix of pleasure and pain, and are clearly only meant for each other.

Okay but this book totally exceeded my expectations! My first thought when I read the description was that this is gonna be another toxic shit wannabe dark romance, but boy was I wrong!
I haven't read book 1 and 2, but I just wanted a quick read so I decided to give it a try though it's a fucking Trilogy (not a standalone). But I kinda loved it. Let's just say that, Thorne (the mmc) is a darker, and definitely more dominating version of Cardan Greenbriar. You're gonna love the guy!!! And Ember, well that girl made sure I don't feel ashamed of my name! She's a strong and independent fmc who won't take no shit from anyone, but at the same time, she's not overdone. She knows how to be nice to those who deserve it, and a bitch when she needs to be.
I will admit that the ending was a tad anticlimatic, I think I wanted more drama, but I'd definitely give 3.5 stars to this book!

Reasons why you should read the book:
🖤'She's mine, and I'm hers' trope
🖤Bad boy x bad girl
🖤Choking kink and delicious smut
🖤He hates everyone but her
🖤He's really goddamn SOFT for her
🖤Hate and love are entwined almost throughout the book
🖤It's not too long or dragged. Just enough for the plot to be executed properly

fantastic end to this epic trilogy!!

Just when you thought you figured out where the story line was going. Ketley throws you for another curve ball, this was the perfect ending for Thorne and Ember. I never wanted to put it down. The strength that Ember shows throughout and especially in Liar is just amazing. She is trying to figure her place out amongst all the lies and deceit that follows the society’s and her school.

The story picks up from Crush with Ember finding out Savannah has been found, Akio is no longer talking to her and Thorne… well he’s Thorne broody as ever and completely unreadable at this time.

Ember swears she’s going to bring the Society and Thorne down, but does she really want to do both?

Read and find out you will NOT be disappointed. I loved every second of this book, the twists, banter, angst, and the dark twist that is Thorne and Embers relationship. The ending is perfect. But it makes me wonder if Ketley may build off these different chapters later on to bring back all the characters we love from the Nobels abs Virtues. (😉 Oh please Ketley that would be amazing! )

I hated how much of a doormat Ember was when it came to Thorne. She showed that she could be strong so many times but every time Thorne was around it was like she forgot all that. I also hated how little regard he had to her and her feelings like I felt like he wasn’t as awful in the other books as in this one, I did not feel like he loved her at all. There was no yearning or grovelling, he said sorry and I love you and she was like ok let’s have sex like it was a three book series but I felt like their relationship was stagnant for so long and things only started picking up in the third book, I feel like they haven’t actually ever got to really know each other I mean most of their times together was just them getting freaky, there was no real connection between them which I guess is why I feel like Thorne didn’t really love her. Overall I did enjoy these books but they weren’t that great and there is room for a lot of improvement.

Ember and Thorne are perfect for each other. They are complete opposites, but the same in so many ways. She craves his darkness and he craves her innocence. Their explosive energy bleeds into every aspect of their lives. The secrets, The twists, and the dark turns we take in these pages will have you on the edge of your seat. You will find yourself craving the twisted darkness that only these two characters possess.

What an amazing conclusion

We start this book with the return of a character missing from the beginning. The question of where she was is at the forefront, but is she the same?

Ember is forced to fight for her position in the Virtues in the most brutal of ways. Thorne is still there to protect her at every turn.

The push and pull between Ember and Thorne is so incredible. Of course, on more than one occasion, I needed Thorne to pull his head out of his a$$.

I wondered, more than once if they would have a HEA, but I’m happy to say they have an amazing HEA and it’s totally sweet. I actually hope that, at some point, the author gives us extended epilogues of this story and the Briarcliff.

I definitely recommend this book!

The perfect, suspenseful, shocking and climatic ending to a riveting series. Ember finds out the truth about her biological parents as well as many other secrets the Societies have fought to keep hidden. She also battles between her growing love for Thorne and whether he can be trusted. Is he her "prince" with a dark side she craves and wants to do right by her? Or has every single one of his actions towards her been nothing but manipulation to bend her to the will of the Societies? Will he choose her or the throne he so desperately wants and has been groomed for his whole life? YOU MUST READ TO FIND OUT!!

Loved it!

What an ending to one wicked wild ride! I think I wanted to strangle Ember and Thorne at times but they truly do have such a passionate, chaotic, messed up relationship but they work. I like the HEAFN ending. Both Briarcliff and Winthrope Chapters were absolutely horrible but I’m with Thorne, I wander if there is a chapter out there that isn’t corrupt and do want their members to succeed. Ketley Allison is one of those authors that brings out so many emotions and keeps you on your toes wondering what more can these poor characters go through and still make it out in the end.

I have never been a fan of the dark Bully romances but I think Ketley allison just made me obsessed with dark Bully academia romances! This is the 2nd series I have read by her and I absolutely love her writing! I love the growth that both the main characters make throughout the series and the male characters are so mouthwatering 🥵🥵. She is always so good with her twists!! I have yet to get one right lol! She catches me so off guard that I am completely flabbergasted by the end! If you have not read The Thorne of Winthorpe what are you waiting for! Make sure you check triggers before but it is well worth the read! ❤️❤️
