Teresa Hann writes tales of magic and mayhem where fierce heroines win their hard-fought happy endings. She likes her storylines twisty, her worlds complex, and her romances involving at least a little stabbing. She lives in the Midwest with her family and her excessive number of houseplants.
Arcturus never property apologized to Cass , hell even Aegis didn't and no matter what were the reasons I am still not able to get over the fact. Aegis to some extent I could forgive in book 3 but Arcturus nope. I don't care what hell he went through, it simply doesn't excuse his awful bastardly personality and I consider Cass weak when it comes to things like these. I mean yeah she did exact her revenge but rather the Arcturus to be grateful and thankful to Cass for showing him mercy , giving him a chance and saving his life that ungrateful a*hole keeps berating Cass. By the time something happened between them it was too little too late, call me a grudgy b*tch but I strongly feel that Cass should have never forgiven or given a second/third chance to that traitorous heartless ass. In general I liked Cass's to do and strong attitude and offcourse sweet Darshan and Acubens. Both these two are amazing and strong in their respective fields.
Sadly, I did not enjoy this one as much as I have enjoyed the prior novels. To begin with, despite the fact that they were in the hells and on the run, I never really felt any sense of true urgency to the story. Despite being told all of the horrific beasts and creatures that lived in the hells, we only ever saw them from afar, and even when the demons first showed up, they seemed more curious than anything else.
Then there was the giant elephant in the room aka Arcturus. Throughout the majority of this book he was the same ungrateful jerk that he has been. I would have thought that maybe the fact that Cassandra had literally sacrificed everything to save his life would have counted for something, but apparently I was wrong. The pair of them are constantly at each other's throats, and while I understand why, it became very tiring after awhile. And don't get me started on the very weird scene between Arcturus, Cass and Darshan that felt very out of place, but also the later scene that took place between Arcturus and Cass. It was absolutely sickening the way they seemingly let him off without an apology. Yes, there was a tiny bit of character growth for Arcturus and we did get to see a more vulnerable side to him at times, but none of that forgave all of the things he said and did to Cass especially since the first book. Even knowing it was likely that he would be added to her harem at some point, I still wish she would have made him properly grovel (or at least prove himself more than he did).
Seeing Acubens step into the light for once was very fulfilling however, and I hope we get to see more of him in this new role without his brother trying to undermine him. I can't wait to start the fifth and final book to see how all of this comes to an end.
Trigger Warnings - read with caution. Bodily harm, and trauma from child abuse and sexual abuse depicted.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. I love how it is a more fantastic version of Cinderella. This is a dark university age academy reverse harem novel with magic, mayhem, secret identities, slow burn romance, and a kick-ass heroine on a mission. A strong yet caring heroine with an interesting assortment of suitors and a demon that needs to be freed to become part of her harem. There was no drama or angst over the heroine liking and dating more than one person. She asks them out, they agree, and that's that. Then with Darshan being openly bi no one even bats an eye (other than giving him crap for his taste in men). Our fearless protagonist has turned her back on her father, rescued the man that wants her dead, and travelled to help with him and one of her boyfriends. They encounter demons and attack before being reunited with her other love. With the two evil heads of house back from the brink of death their most powerful children join forces to get research from on of the planes of Hell. Helping get the research to offset the new powers brought back by the return of one head from Hell. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to continue reading the series. I highly recommend to everyone.
This book felt more like a side story than a proper continuation. All of the action is somewhat tangential to the main story line. Perhaps, a much required break for the characters to introspect and grow. Well written as usual. The author has tremendous understanding of her characters, as she should, and all of the developments felt in character. On a more spoilery note: Acubens is hero goals. I am gutted that all of his development happened behind the scenes. He deserved more pages. Happy that there was no Aegis.
Deepest and Darkest, the fourth book of the Wraithwood Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). Good story progression, but not my least-liked story line. If a car chase could be put into words, this was the car chase for this series-- plenty of action, but after awhile I just wanted to get to where they were going. Even with the plot was drawn out for me, the writer still kept her edge.
With the two evil heads of house back from the brink of death their mos powerful children join forces to get research from on of the planes of Hell. Helping get the research to offset the new powers brought back by the return of one head from Hell. Good Read interesting discussions of hellscape.
Not quite as exciting as the last one but I still loved it. It may have lost some of its charme for me because I read a handful of books in between, but I will re-read the series when the last book is released, to have it all in one context.
I love Teresa Hann’s characters as they have so much depth and she really builds the tension levels. This book answered many questions and has set it up nicely for the finally. How many days till July?
Tensions are high. With a 'champion' a super nerd and a determined female there is camping at its' finest...ha ha. Crazy surprises and rescues abound. Definitely deepest and darkest! Now on to conquering the 'devil.' Follow on with me....
I waffled on whether to continue, book 3 was a bit of a struggle for me. This was better, more like the first. I’m still not connecting as I’d hoped, but I’m intrigued enough that I’d like to see the ending.
Learning more about Arcturus means that you can't help but empathise with him. The revelations of the things he experienced as a youth make sense of his actions and a young man. I am keennto see where Book 5 takes us.
Things are progressing so much that it's driving me crazy. I need to know what happens next and I'm seriously excited to know how everything comes together.
I found this one really short compared to the other 3 so far, I feel like alot more could have been said and done. In saying that I still absolutely loved this book as will you
