Amy Shepard is a confident, strong, independent woman. Having grown up idolizing her very protective big brother, she learnt from a young age how to take care of herself. Living in New York with her best friend and running her own business life is good for her. The only thing missing is love, but she has a plan to change that. People meet on the internet every day, right? What could possibly go wrong?
One fateful night and her life is changed forever. Everything Amy ever knew she was, is ripped from her and replaced with an endless darkness there seems to be no escape from.
Surrounded by the support of the people who love her she should feel protected and safe, but how can she when the more and more they investigate what happened to her, the deeper and darker the whole thing becomes. Why was she targeted and how does in link to an investigation her brother is in the midst of?
In the chaos of everything the one thing missing from her life, love, seems to be within reach when she falls for the guy who was right in front of her all along, but with the darkness inside of her taking hold she has no idea how to move forwards.
When it becomes clear Amy's hell is not yet over, and the monsters come back to finish what they started, will she be strong enough to survive? Can her family really keep her safe this time? Can she ever find herself and take back her life?
That was so damn long. They stretched the rubber band so far it snapped. At first I thought Ethan was the LI. So when he just kept treating her like a sister it felt weird to me. And thn came out of nowhere Will as the LI. They don't have anything special to mention there. Meh. I didn't like the baby twist. I'm not really experienced here but pretty sure babies does not fully formed at 1month time, right? It's a controversial topic here. Don't wanna touch it but yeah I didn't like that. Kinda shamed abortions here? She clearly didn't want it. Later she also has moments where she questioned her decision. Yeah it felt like they put the other choice in negativity. So is crying and needing help. I didn't like how Everytime Amy cried or did emotional she said she's becoming pathetic. Girl you just being assaulted eight hours ago. So traumatized woman's reactions are pathetic? I know as a strong woman it's hard for her but still I can't help but feel she put all of them in negative light. And when she ran away she said something like "if they bother to search" now there ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME????? Anyone can see how much they love her I think the whole book is about that. every single of them. And she dared to disrespect them like that. That was so absurd! And we didn't get an epilogue 🤷♀️ after all these angst stretching we don't get to see some peace. We don't get to see Ethan okay. I'm gonna just **flip the table**

Holy crap. What a giant steaming pile of poop. I think this book may have been written by a completely different person because it was just so atrocious. I’ve never read such unlikeable characters or been so confused in my life.
Amy: the 23 year old who knows everything and does everything, who turns into a nut. Ethan and Will? What the hell is going on there. Rob is like a completely different person from previous books and Alex is a giant bitch - but she was nuts in her book too, so not really surprising.
All in all, I don’t know how I managed to get through it. It’s not worth the time or aggravation, really.
Author drags "suspense" out way beyond belief or necessity......story is marred by too many errors in both words and grammar. Poor editing overall spoiled what could have been a tight and well focused story. Read only if you want to W-O-R-K at it------+!!!!
I tried, this book is so unrealistic as to be unreadable for me. I dragged myself through fifty percent and decided it wasn't going to stop being boring. There's definitely potential here. Perhaps when the author has a few more books under her belt. Perhaps some research before she writes the next one would help. Don't give up Ms. Taylor.
Kerry delves into sensitive issues that need to be brought to light. She does shy away from the issues, but still manages to bring in some romance. I liked these for the strong women characters. I didn't like some of the byplay with the male characters. I would have liked to know if a character survived. And if another gets his own story.
I really liked this story. The familial interactions between the characters was really good. Also, liked the way Ethan and Will were always there for Amy. However, I would have liked a good sex scene.
This is the third instalment of this series, all stories have been good, however, the grammatical errors and mistakes throughout are appalling, without them these books would have had a higher star rating and would have been more enjoyable.
Oh wow this was a read! A good one. I absolutely love amy and Ethan. There relationship is amazing and I absolutely love it. And how will understand that she needs Ethan and understands. I was so close to crying at this ending. But the author came through for me and it all ended happily. A great ending.
