It’s been a long time since Marcus has been with a woman seeing how he believes he will never find a woman willing to stay with him after they find out his darkest bedroom secrets. T.J. (Teagan) Allen is a strong, feisty, manipulative woman who will use anything she can (even her body) to become a prospect for the Savage Kings. Teagan always believed that her father loved the motorcycle club than he loved her and wanted to understand what the big deal was. Teagan sees an opportunity to use her ways to show Marcus she has what it takes to become a prospect. Immediately, both of them are drawn to the other and Marcus is even amazed that no matter what he does in the bedroom, Teagan is not running away. But she does use that to her advantage when he starts feeling guilty
Deception, lies, lack of communication, passion and heartbreak make this story. You feel like you are right there wuth the characters rooting for them to succeed and rooting for the m both to grow up and communicate. Great story with great characters. I cannot wait to see what is next with Jake and Lucas!

Well the Savage Kings are back and this one is pretty interesting. As you know there is a female who wants to prospect for the club. Teagan wants to know why her father would choose the mc over her. So lets meet Marcus who says he will find the next prospect. Well seems like he met his match with Teagan. She has no qualms using her body to get what she wants. He sees it but something inside him does not want her to prospect. Hmm. I wonder what will be in store for these two. I will say that yes these two have some moments that are hot but who will be the first to fall. We see a different side of Marcus as you continue to read the book and the same for Teagan. In a way it is funny because they are both using each other but it seems like Love may win out. Or so we think until the truth comes out and then everything goes sideways. So how will it all end. See if they will get a happily ever after.

disappointing
I love these authors but have to say I found this book so disappointing. Did not take to female lead, found her character irritating and manipulative beyond belief. Very sexualised character who persistently paraded around in the cut with nothing on underneath even in public was off putting.As for Marcus he started off well but quickly developed as a stupid character for someone in an mc that had responsibility for prospects in an ongoing war . Didn’t rate any real emotion or relationship between them apart from sex. So disappointed in the lack of a decent storyline.

This is book nine of the Savage Kings MC – South Carolina series and the main characters are Marcus De La Cruz, who has been volunteered to sponsor the newest prospect for the Savage Kings MC, and Teagan Allen who wants to desperately be a member of the outlaw MC after her father, who was the president of the Charlotte chapter was killed defending his club, and after trying a few others associated with her father, has ended up at the Savage Kings MC as they advertised for new prospects. Being a woman and a short one at that, in a male dominated arena, doesn’t make it easy to get anyone to take her seriously as a prospect. So she decides to be a bit underhand and trap Marcus into putting her forward as a prospect for membership, using her womanly wares to get her way! The club has lost two of its members and had some recent prospects badly injured during a recent attack, so whoever joins will need to be made of stern stuff.
Teagan wants to become the new queen of the Savage Kings, using Marcus to get there, so she can better understand her father and his obsession with his MC, putting the club first before family and never even marrying her mother. She tracks Marcus down and turns up at his door, allowing him to get her in his bed and use his belt on her, something she finds she quite enjoys. But he was a bit over zealous and carried away in the moment and she can hardly move the next morning, which she uses to start her manipulation of Marcus and get him waiting on her hand and foot. Each time he thinks he can have sex with her, she holds off on giving him any satisfaction until she gets him to agree to what she wants first! He soon finds himself wrapped around her little finger, even realising this when he gets out of his house, but never managing to stay away for long and ending up back in the same situation again! When he finds out Teagan’s true identity from her prospect form, that their president has noticed and recognized, he is inflamed and refuses to allow her to be put forward as a prospect. He has never wanted to, even though he has made promises to her, but he wants to protect her and is beginning to fall for her, making her being part of the MC and the danger involved, even harder for him to allow. Exactly the opposite of what she wants.
Her mother has always warned her against being with any man who is part of a MC, because of the way her father treated her mother. He wasn’t only with her mother and that hurt her mother more than anything. But she has also kept a lot of things secret from Teagan about her father and why he wasn’t around more. He taught her how to ride a Harley, to shot a gun and how to protect herself. The truth is going to come out and hurt Teagan, but others will also help her understand her father and his link to the MC, as well as her mother’s protective nature. Both Marcus and Teagan want their own way, but they will have to come to a compromise and communicate better, if they are going to have a chance to be together. A hard hitting and steamy read at times, with difficult decisions having to be faced to get what they want. I received an ARC copy of this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

After doing some exhaustive research, I found out that there are some three patch clubs allowing women in, which is wild to me. But you go girl. To me, it sounds like drama, but I guess if a woman can get through prospecting than they got a good head on their shoulders. I'm not sure I like how this series will go after Teagan joins. She's not one of those "cool gals" that just lets things be. She's obnoxious, manipulative, and full of drama. I guess she was written to be the strong female character type. Unfortunately, authors tend to overcompensate when they do "strong female characters," and instead of getting one, we get over-the-top obnoxiousness. That's not strong. That's just annoying. And Marcus...Marcus was a d-bag.
So, Teagan wants to be in the Savage Kings MC because her deceased father was in it, so she shows up to prospect. Marcus is in charge of the prospects this time out, and he laughs in her face when he sees her. Teagan is manipulative and decides to use sex in order to get Marcus to agree to let her prospect, so she shows up at his house. He immediately gives in to her, and does his Marcus thing by paddling the s#!t out of her because that's his kink. She puts up with it because she wants to prospect. And so it's just them back and forth, manipulating each other--Marcus whapping the crude out of her and Teagan using sex to make him agree to stay at his house. Take out the woman prospecting thing, which I absolutely hated, and the romance aspect was so awful. It was unhealthy and wacky.
Anyhow, I have to say that this book tops it for the worst MC romance I have ever read. I'm not going to be able to read the rest of the series with the direction it's going. Too many cliff hangers with these authors. Too much wacky stuff going on. I think it's time to move on. I really like a lot of the books. I loved a few. Some were downright awful, and at this point, I'm kind of done. (I know I said this before, but I've had my limit with this book).

I'm so happy that this amazing duo has a new book for me to devour.
They have given me one of my favorite MC series and I'm always afraid that they say it's going to end.
I love MC books and they know how to write them.
Lane Hart and DB West are the bombs. Their writing is raw and wild, intense, hot and so much more.
You need to read their books, I can guarantee that you won't regret it.

Marcus is one of the brothers from the Savage Kings. His life revolves around his club and protecting his brothers.
When he volunteers himself to sponsor the next prospect he couldn't imagine it was going to be a woman...
Teagan is used to the MC life. His dad was the president of am MC until the day he was killed.
Now, she sees herself being a prospect for the Savage Kings in order to find out why her dad lived and loved the MC life.
What will she do to assure that she becomes a member?
I'm speechless at the moment.
This book was so freaking awesome that I couldn't stop reading.
Amazing plot, very well written, super hot, and engaging.
Chapter after chapter, I was super engrossed that I couldn't stop.
These characters were perfect for each other and you will be hooked from the beginning.
I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't want it to end.
I wanted to keep reading and reading.
Guys, the hot stuff... Oh boy... The hot stuff... I'm still sweaty. Lol
These two are two peas in a pond. Lol, stubborn, headstrong, and sexy.
I loved it.
I'm becoming sad because I know that this series is almost ending...

I have stated in my past reviews that D.B. West and Lane Hart are a 'power couple' and that still holds true to this day. I have had the wonderful opportunity to read every single installment to The Savage Kings MC and while Marcus is the 9th release to the Series, I still am completely in awe of the talent and creativity, both of these Authors continue to display, in every release.
Being driven as an individual is certainly one way to describe Teagan, aka T.J., and when she sets her mind on something... Rest assured that she will get it. Teagan is trying to 'connect' with the mindset of her deceased Father, and even though it has been 5 years since his death, Teagan longs to understand the man he was. Deciding to become a Prospect for The Savage Kings MC is Teagan's goal and her roadblock comes in the form of the man in charge of them; Marcus. The big, demanding, gorgeous man on two wheels that refuses her. Thankfully, neither is a quitter and reading along as they fight their way to get their HEA is a gift itself. That's right, Marcus and the ridiculously feisty Teagan are going to compell you to sit up long into the night, consuming this unbelievably incredible storyline.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Marcus in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. Truthfully, I couldn't recommend reading this installment, as well as the entire Series (to date), more.

Marcus just wants someone to stay...
He's been alone for so long that he has convinced himself he'll never convince any woman to put up with his bedroom proclivities and stay. He wants nothing more than to be half of a whole, even if he isn't willing to admit it, even to himself.
TJ wants nothing more than to prospect for the Savage Kings. Losing her father to the club, she's willing to do anything to get that coveted prospect patch, even seduce the massive biker who will sponsor the new prospect. While his ideal relationship might not be for me, I really liked the evolution that his character went through as he learns to fit TJ into his life. I also liked the glimpse of his creative side the reader gets. I would have liked to see more of this aspect of his character - he's definitely a multifaceted guy.
The storyline is interesting and well-written. However, the story seemed to wrap up a bit abruptly, with what should have been some pretty significant issues brushed over a bit. I would have liked to read more about how those issues were resolved to help Marcus and TJ build their new normal.

I know this book is titled Marcus, but it is Teagan's story - really.
Oh Teagan...
Such an interesting character.
It was initially a bit disappointing to see how she chose to control the situation when she set out on her path, but it certainly made sense in this world and with these MC men. I understand the reasons for it, having read all of the other books in this series. Her character's strength and determination to see her goal realized was great to read.
Marcus is also a super character! I enjoyed the chemistry between Marcus and Teagan, and how they reached their happy ever after. Oh SO steamy! (whew!!) I miss this MC already! Thank goodness Jake is coming...
This team of authors consistently deliver reads that are addictive, and stories that leave me wanting more. Having read most of their works and series, I can sincerely say that they offer well written, engaging and sexy characters to fall in love with every time. I will continue to recommend their work as an example of the best this genre has to offer: Compelling stories that are easy to enjoy.

Marcus is part of the Savage Kings (South Carolina) MC series. I love the MC characters in these books. They are bad boys with good hearts, and they are intensely loyal and fiercely protective, especially when it comes to their women. It is fantastic how hard these men love.
The storyline in Marcus is different from previous books in that there is no MC action perse. It is very much Marcus and TJ's love story. However, like the other books in the series, it is great getting to know the characters, in this case, Marcus, the back story as his lady love comes into his life. She does so in an eyebrow-raising way. Initially, I was not too fond of TJ because she was overtly manipulative. She grew on me.
With a lot of drama that included a few treks between North and South Carolina, Marcus is another highly entertaining book to read in the Savage Kings MC series. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Jake.

I love the idea that a woman wants to prospect for the Savage Kings, especially since she is the heir and would be considered Savage King royalty but she is keeping that secret to herself. Sex has always been a means to an end for T. J. or Teagan thanks to the examples she witnessed from her mother growing up. So, when she decides to use sex as a way to get Marcus to agree to let her prospect, it is just the only way she believes she can accomplish her mission. Marcus has always hidden his true sexual needs from woman so when Teagan allows him to fulfill his sexual desires, he doesn't seem to realize that he is being manipulated until the damage is done. Can they find their HEA once the secrets are revealed? Great writing as usual from my favorite husband and wife writer duo, D. B. West and Lane Hart and I can't wait until the next release thanks to the little teaser about the next story to be released.

Anytime I see an ARC for Hart and West, I automatically download it. They continue to produce excellent stories that leave the reader wishing for more chapters. Marcus is a perfect example of wanting more. He is a powerful, single man who has a few requirements when it comes to women. When he is tasked with finding more prospects for the club, he does not expect a tiny, beautiful woman to show up. Marcus flat out tells her that she will not be a prospect under his supervision and she needs to leave.
Teaggan/TJ, knows exactly how to get under Marcus skin, and she will not back down from becoming a prospect. She rides, knows how defend herself, and how to use weapons. TJ also knows there is nothing in the by-laws that say women cannot become a member.
Readers will love the way these two interact. I enjoyed the clever ways in which they challenged each other. I recommend this book!

I admit, the cover grabbed my attention. Thank you for that! I’m jumping into a series out of order, which isn’t something I’m a big fan of doing (personal preference). In this case you are okay doing that.
Marcus is my kind of guy. He is rough around the edges but genuinely wants to find his person. So often we read these biker stories and the guys are just nasty about being single, staying single, and running through every female they meet. I appreciate Marcus because he isn’t that.
He isn’t perfect as TJ finds out. But the two seem to work through things. I like that TJ is a female prospect. This was new to me. I do think these two individuals could have been explored further. Their depths were many and things just kind of ended, albeit in a HEA. I’ll definitely be reading more by this husband/wife collab team!

This is the ninth book in this amazing series and is Marcus and Teagan’s journey. Marcus has agreed to sponsor the next prospect to join the MC, never expecting that it would be a woman. Teagan is strong, feisty, and determined, and she is the daughter of a former President who was killed for his MC, and she is determined to discover what the attraction is and why her dad would choose his club over her. Marcus has met his match with Teagan / TJ, and they are instantly drawn to each other. This is a well written story which is emotional, intriguing, and with lies, secrets, deception, drama, passion, heartbreak, suspense, action, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented duo whose work I highly recommend.

As much as I have loved each of these club members getting their women I'm not to sure on Teagan I know her dad was a president so she has biker blood and the right requirements to prospect. I just think she goes about it the wrong way she always said she hated how her dad would leave her mum yet she is using her body to manipulate a brother yet gets jealous when she thinks he may be straying. Poor Marcus is so worried that his little kink is going to get him in trouble one day so has abstained for so long I'm not surprised he's a magnet for TJ' s advances.
It seems everyone involved has made some bad choices and lied but will it ultimately have the effect to either have TJ as a prospect or just as Marcus's ol'lady.

I have to say that I wasn’t exactly a Teagan fan at first. I found her to be very manipulative. She did end up growing on me. I loved how she talked about missing her dad and doing the things that they used to do together to keep him close.
I loved Marcus! Big, scary Marcus also has a vulnerable side. My heart broke for him when it was revealed how long he’d gone without and why, and why he was reluctant to start up anything again. It made my insides flutter when he realized he was falling and just wanted to keep Teagan safe.
The steamy scenes between them were off the charts hot!!!
Can’t wait for more of this series, especially Leo, given what he’s been through!

As another reviewer mentioned, while this book is called Marcus, it's really about Teagan (I find it interesting that the character tells everyone to call her TJ, but the authors still call her Teagan). The book almost exclusively focuses on their relationship, with Teagan's relationship with her mom being a major subplot. I was hoping to learn more about Marcus than just his kink in the bedroom and his feelings for Teagan, so the lack of detail about him was disappointing. I was also disappointed that we learn nothing about the potential prospects and how Marcus is putting them through their paces.
The kink in this book isn't for everyone; however, it's important to Marcus that Teagan is on board with everything.

Marcus is a bit of a loner but agrees to help find prospects for the club and sponsor them. Teagan (TJ) is the daughter of the murdered president of the charlotte chapter and she is trying to find a connection with her father. She tries to prospect for the South Carolina chapter and gets shut down by Marcus based on her gender. TJ uses sex to manipulate Marcus, which turned me off to the story a bit, and try to get what she wants. Marcus strings her along making promises in the heat of the moment that he has no intention of following through on. There is a ton of steam and it includes plenty of spanking but no real action plot. Not my favorite in the series but a good addition.

Having read and loved the other books In this series and most all of the other MC series written by DBWest and Lane Hart, this book was a disappointment. Teagan (T.J.) wants to join the MC as a prospect to understand her deceased father dedication to the MC family and lifestyle. Marcus was in charge of the new prospects, but instead of treating her like any other prospect, he lies to her about it and uses her as his sub. That's what I really didn't like about this book. Marcus came across as a manipulative, misogynist jerk. You can read as a stand alone and all the series is available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited.

I liked this book, i enjoyed the storyline and the characters were good, i enjoyed watching the characters grow individually and as a couple. Marcus and Teagan or TJ as she prefers. Marcus surprised me, for a biker and he hadn't been with a woman for 10 years, just wow. Tj was a great character but i just didn't like how she uses sex to try to get what she wants. Though at times it worked. However they both played each other and fell for each other. They were both surprised and Tj's Mum had some home truths that had to be shared about her Dad, that put twists within the book. Really enjoyed it. Recommend.

It’s a good read and cute story
This is a good read about Marcus and Teagan. Marcus is one of only a few MC Brothers that are still single and he is happy about it. What he is not happy about is being in charge of the new prospects. To his surprise there is one sexy petite female who is in the bunch. He gives her a couple pushes to get her to leave on her own. But Marcus doesn’t know Teagan and once she sets her mind to something there is nothing to stop her. Teagan takes his pushes as a challenge and ups her game. That’s what this story is about the journey between these two as they both catch feelings although they try to fight them. Easy to read with little to no angst and some fun and sexy times. Read On!
