I would like to tell you my story with languages.I started to learn English very early around 9 years old in an English course in my city. When I was 14 I was already fluent but this influence was relative because I had problems with understanding and my English was very “square”, which means I didn't know slang and idiomatic expressions that are widely used by those who are native to the language.I only knew how to speak English in a very formal way and this only improved over the years when I came into contact with other forms of alternative learning such as movies, series and games.It's worth remembering that when I started learning English in 1997 there weren't all the media resources we have today and all I had to learn English was the course book and the K7 tapes (laughs) that contained the transcripts of the book's dialogues.Later at the university I learned French, Italian and Spanish.Recently I learned Catalan by myself in 6 months and now I read and write books in 6 my native language Portuguese plus English,Italian,Spanish,French and Catalan.Over time I had access to movies, series, books and games and it was from there that I could improve my fluency and my understanding of languages. Today I can speak and understand 6 languages at the level of a native and I hope you will also reach this goal with a lot of effort and dedication.Enjoy reading and studying!!! :)
