An enjoyable anthology of festive novels, each one bringing Christmas into focus as lives are changed, forgiveness sought, and damaged relationships are mended.

A Cup of Cheer - Deb Marlowe: Four people who need a Christmas miracle are brought together in this sweet romance as a contrite Earl, and small orphan boy with the world on his shoulders, a companion, and her mistress find the importance of not making assumptions. Creating Christmas magic becomes paramount as the household comes together to bring the joy that they all need.

The Mistletoe Trap - Eve Pendle: Misunderstandings involving mistletoe and youthful shyness cause untold sadness in the lives of Amelia and Robert as a result of insecurities that robbed them of years of happiness. Fortunately, it is mistletoe that brings them back together again.

A Most Inconvenient Earl - Claire Delacroix: Practical Eurydice Goodenham thinks she has the perfect solution, only things do not quite work out that way. Proposing marriage to Montgomery, Earl of Rockmorton, she is almost as surprised as he is when he accepts her offer, with conditions. Actually, they both have conditions, but when their plans are upended they discover that things are no longer so simple. Despite their practical arrangement, love blossoms, and Christmas becomes a time to rejoice.

The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem - Emmanuelle de Maupassant: Ursula is a resourceful young lady, not used to taking orders from overbearing uncles who think to control her, and when she discovers that he has been usurping her inheritance, she makes her escape. Without a clear plan in mind, she takes hold of an opportunity presented to her, bringing her right on course and into Rye's arms, the supposedly young boy she is supposed to tutor. He's no boy and when it comes to tutoring, he in fact is far more experienced in the ways of the world. Together they thwart their enemy's plans and discover love in unexpected places.

A Countess for Christmas - Anthea Lawson: As if Miss Cecilia Fairfax did not have enough to worry about, her brother's accident that left him temporarily blind adds another layer of tension to her already overburdened shoulders. As Marcus starts to recover, he invites his best friend home with him for Christmas, stretching Cecilia to her limits, especially as her older brother is arriving within a day or two with his unpleasant and judgemental wife. Liam, the Earl of Tarrick hasn't celebrated Christmas in years, and accompanying Marcus to his home does not seem like a good idea at all, at least until he realizes just how much he is enjoying being in the presence of Marcus's twin sister. When Cecilia is found to be missing, all of Liam's instincts come to the fore and he discovers that he will protect her with his life if necessary, bringing this sweet novel to a lovely conclusion.

Miss Isabella Thaws a Frost Lord - Lyrissa Lyons: There are none so blind as those who will not see and Nicholas, Earl of Frostwood, is blind to everyone else's pain but his own. Having eschewed Christmas for many years, he berates himself for accepting Ed's invitation to attend a Christmas house party at his home. He is bewildered when Isabella rejects his offer of a dance, but when he is partnered with her the following day, he is dumbfounded to discover the truth about her. Isabella is less than forthcoming about the circumstances of her life, but when it would seem that all is lost, Frost stands by her and defends her in a way that no one else has ever done, bringing this charming romance to a conclusion.

Her Accidental Groom - Nadine Millard: Lady Natalia Soronsky is desperate to avoid her father's plans for her. Her scheme to thwart his dictates inadvertently involves Lord Benjamin Strafford, who has his own reasons for needing an immediate fiance. It is only when they come up against the immovable wall that is Count Soronsky that their real feelings for one another come to the fore. Opposites attract in this enjoyable romance that comes to a happy conclusion.

Christmas Spirits - Jane Charles: The Duke of Danby is back, issuing edicts and moving his family members around like chess pieces. Ordered to investigate a missing shipment from Scotland, Benjamin thinks he has got off lightly, only to encounter the intrepid widow, Mary Soares with a broken-down wagon, together with the missing shipment. Ben certainly did not expect that their lives would be as interlinked as they were, but when push comes to shove, he cannot stand back and allow his dictatorial great-uncle to have his way. The novel comes to a romantic conclusion with some startling surprises.

Joy to the World - Nicole Zoltack: Duped by a con man, it would seem that Miss Eliza Berkeley is about to be left at the altar without a groom when out of the blue the Duke of Wyndale appears to claim his bride. Having to think quickly, Stephen realizes that Elize may just be the solution he needs for his life but is he the right man for her? Salvaging what he can of the blighted day, Stephen sets about winning Eliza's trust whilst at the same time tracking the movements of the man who is trying to steal his life. It is only when Eliza's life is in danger that Stephen begins to understand just how much he needs her, bringing about the perfect conclusion.

To Fall for a Duke by Christmas - Sadie Bosque: Having loved and lost due to his lowly status, David finds himself confronted by the woman he thought he would marry when he inherits a Dukedom and crumbling estates. However, Victoria has lost her shine, and when David discovers an Irish lass in an overturned curricle, his breath is taken away. Niamh is everything he wants in a woman, but unfortunately, she has no background nor breeding and is Irish to boot. Fortunate, the heart knows what it wants and David comes to his senses before it is too late.

What If I Still Love You - Erica Taylor: Fully expecting the wrath of his family, Henry, Earl of Carrington, returns home to retrieve the item left for him by his father. Meeting the woman who had been his first love, he finds that the original spark is just waiting to burst into flame once more. However, before they can go forward, they have to deal with the past. Fortunately, Anne's step-children have her best interests at heart and when all seems lost, they give her a gentle push towards life, love, and adventure.

Christmas Promises - Brenda Hiatt: Ashton, Marquess of Vandover promises his beloved grandmother that he will bring a bride home for Christmas. His meeting with Miss Holly Paxton is a breath of fresh air, but unfortunately, not everyone is happy with his choice. No matter how hard they try, no one can diminish Holly's joyful spirit nor her determination to may Vandover laugh. Although inconclusive, the story does promise good things in the future.

I received a copy of this very worthwhile box set as a gift through BookSprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This 12-novella anthology includes both sweet and spicy holiday tales that will gratify all the Christmas nuts out there. For a while, I posted separate reviews, not knowing if I could persist to the finish; however, I have now done so. I must say that it is too much of a genre that is best taken in small doses. But, moving on, Happy New Year to all, and to all a festive Eve!

Charlie is one of the best parts of the story. He is a lad who has lost both his parents and now his teacher too.
He is sent back to his guardian, the one and only Lord Chester ! All Charlie's wants is a family again. Maybe with Christmas magic, the help of the Countess and mistletoe all can find what they are looking for.

The Mistletoe Trap by Eve Pendle

With Christmas magic and maybe a ghost too, will happy ever after come too ??

Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord by Larissa Lyons
This is such a fun book. I love the witty remakes between Isabella and Frost.
Isabella has been blind since youth. After her mother death she has had to live in the shadows because her Father despised her. She is imperfect so of no use. Who would marry the likes ! When her father will be gone over Christmas time her best friend kidnaps her and takes her to her party for the season ! Anne with the help of her younger sister,
Harriet helps her to learn the layout of the manor. Isabella is so happy, she has company and music all around her , she loves the Christmastide.
Ed is the husband of Anne, and has finally got his friend, Nicholos to agree to come send the Holidays with them. Nicholos Winten, seventh Earl of Frostwood dislikes everything about Christmas and usual spends it drunk in the dark.
Which suites him just fine. After a childhood accident that took the only person, he loved he has become cold, unfeeling and a bore even to himself. Ah with match making angels, friends to both, help from a very precocious fifteen-year-old and one noise goose. How all help this couple is funny, witty, and love at its best and all makes for a truely unforgettable Christmas story of love and happiness. You will be smiling even more after the best ending every. What a guy Nick is...

This is listed as a steamy romance but only one scene is and should not stop any from read a really cute story.

What if I still Love you, Erica Taylor
Oh, how I loved this story, it's funny, sad, endearing and has much affection and love. Henry Allerton, Earl of Carrington has never known a family. As these two get join together to search for the missing package. Both have many secrets, and much the other does not know. Millie and Percival her step children are priceless. This is truly a love story for the ages. There is so much
going on with the past and present to say too much would ruin the story for you. Be sure and not miss this one. I loved the ending !!

It is amazing when these two meets, Hunt is over come with all the silly, flattery the mothers their daughter are thrown his way. While Holly feels sorry of the discomfort, she sees on Hunts face.
When they find themselves dancing at one of the balls, she is surprised to find he is not the haughty, sour puss she thought. Hunt can't believe he is actually enjoying dancing with Holly. She is not like the other ladies and is easy to
talk to. She also likes to talk about other things them balls and the weather... so, refreshing. As they spend time together, they have to contend with Hunts, stepmother, Camilla who is one nasty, wicked person set to come between anyone looking at Hunt. If having a wicked step mother is not bad enough Holly's sister Blanche is just like her...
With some twist and turns, and problems these too will have to work hard for a happy ending.
I liked the story till the end, it is not really an end but continues on in the next book!! Turns out this is novella to the next book. This ruined the book for me... I hate cliff hangers...

Some of the stories were fantastic. I would find myself smiling while reading. Some, I knew I would not enjoy, so I skipped them. Some were soapy and the “reasons” didn’t make sense.

Not my cup of T

Ok so I rarely read anthology books packed with different authors, but I took a chance. I felt like a teenage girl first book of historical romance, there was no Unputdownable story but one by a new author to me name Sadie Bosque. Where was the steamy, sizzling hot sex? The 2 stars are for, To Fall for a Duke by Christmas. Not interested in these type stories in this anthology and that is my opinion & review.

This was an OK set of historical romance novellas. As is typical for a set like this, some were better than others. May overall rating for the set was 3.0 stars.

A Cup of Cheer, by Deb Marlowe, 4 stars: Good story with a likable couple. The H had been a terrible womanizer, but was forced to come home after his ward's tutor abandons him. He almost immediately started falling for his grandmother's companion (the h), who believed she was beneath him. He turned out to be a good man, who took charge of his ward, and convinced the h that they were perfect for each other. His ward and his grandmother also tried to encourage their relationship, which was cute. Clean story, with only kisses.

The Mistletoe Trap, by Eve Pendle, 3.5 stars: OK story, with a mostly likable couple. He had courted her some years before, but he married someone else due to misunderstandings. He had since been widowed, so they end up meeting again at a Christmas house party. Both of them had to get past their earlier misunderstandings, but they end up falling back in love and get married. More problems arise, but they are able to get past them, and find their HEA. Mostly clean story -- just kisses and fairly tame sex within marriage.

A Most Inconvenient Earl, by Claire Delacroix, 3.5 stars: Good story of a couple who marry for convenience (she proposed to him!), but end up falling in love. They encounter some problems as they get to know each other, but end up falling in love and finding their HEA. Sex within marriage, but not really explicit.

Joy to the World, by Nicole Zoltak, 3.5 stars: Okay story of a woman who is left at the altar by a man who is posing as a duke -- but then ends up meeting the actual duke. The actual duke decides to marry her, thinking it will be a marriage of convenience. The marriage is postponed for a while, as they get to know each other, but they do end up falling in love. The imposter is also caught, and sent to prison for his crimes. Clean story, with only kisses.

The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem, by Emmanuelle de Maupassant, 3.0 stars: Okay story, with a likable couple. It started out pretty slow, and I almost stopped reading it -- but it got much better after a few chapters. The couple meet because she poses as his teacher, who is to teach him society's rules. She assumes he is a child, though, when he is actually an adult. They fall for each other as she teaches him, but run into problems when her deception is discovered. They do find their HEA, though. This story does contain sex outside of marriage, but it is not terribly explicit.

A Countess for Christmas, by Anthea Lawson, 4.0 stars: I thought this was one of the better stories in this set. It was a sweet story of a likable couple who basically fell in love thru letters. The H wrote letters for her brother, who temporarily lost his eyesight in an accident. She responded, and he eventually ended up spending Christmas with her family. Clean story, with only kisses.

Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord, by Larissa Lyons, 3.5 stars: Lovely story, with a likable couple -- Her mother and his sister (deceased, and now ghosts) are working to get them together. The H was not aware that the h was blind, so that caused some problems early in the story. She was also terribly mistreated by her father, who was ashamed of her blindness. They get to know each other at a Christmas house party, and eventually fall in love. Story does contain sex within marriage, but it is not extremely explicit.

Her Accidental Groom, by Nadine Millard, 3 stars: Okay story of a couple who fake a betrothal. She didn't want her father to arrange her marriage, and his aunt insisted he marry to get his inheritance. They end up falling love, and find their HEA. Their ruse was discovered, though, so they had to deal with that first. Clean story, with only kisses.

Christmas Spirits, by Jane Charles, 3.5 stars: Sweet story of a couple who met due to the machinations of The Duke of Danby (the H's great uncle, and a customer of the h's family). They eventually fell in love, and find their HEA. Clean story, with only kisses.

To Fall for a Duke by Christmas, by Sadie Bosque, 3.0 stars: Cute story of a duke and a commoner who fell in love while faking a courtship. Their ruse was discovered, though, but they got past it, and found their HEA. This story contains heavy petting before marriage, and full sex within marriage. None of the sex scenes were extremely explicit, though.

What if I Still Love You, by Erica Taylor, 3.0 stars: Okay story of a couple who had a failed elopement, then meet again years later. They both blamed each other for their continued estrangement -- He believed she married someone else almost immediately, and she believed he abandoned her in favor of her father's money. They found out that what they believed wasn't quite right, and that others had conspired to keep them apart. They get past those misunderstandings, and find their HEA. Story does contain sex outside of marriage.

Christmas Promises, by Brenda Hiatt, 3.5 stars: Sweet story of a couple who met because the H promised to return home soon with a wife. They met at a ball, and he liked that she was not like most of the other debutantes, who he found silly and rather stupid. They got engaged, thinking it would be a marriage of convenience, but ended up deeply in love. Clean story, with only kisses.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Enjoyable...but...

Whoever was responsible for proofreading these stories should be ashamed of themselves. The incomplete sentences in the final story kept yanking me out of a perfectly delightful story. There is also a common problem with personal pronouns. No one seems to like using the objective form of "I", which is "me".
"Between you and I" is not acceptable and grates on the ears. When in doubt, take out the third party and read the statement again. "Me" is objective. Get used to it and I might invest in your full novels. I rather like well written stories.

I had initially been given an ARC of this anthology to read and review for Ms. Emmanuelle De Maupassant's story, 'The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem" and anyone who knows me, knows I'll drop most anything I'm doing to read one of her stories. This one deserves at least a five-star rating. To my surprise, most of these authors are new to me, so it allowed me to read new authors, all of whom deserve no less than four stars.

A wonderfully rich and beautifully written box set. Each story a well crafted tale of love and the Christmas spirit. They just keep getting better. You can't get any better than this. If you want some good reading this is the one.

2.75⭐️ Well, this anthology did not rock my Christmas or had me jingling all the way. My favorites were four stars:

-A Countess for Christmas, Anthea Lawson
-Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord, Larissa Lyons
-Her Accidental Groom, Nadine Millard

Too many of the stories were uninspired, although there were some amusing typos.

Life got in the way and I wasn’t able to finish this anthology, but here are the ones that I did read…

A Cup of Cheer by Deb Marlowe

Starring Alexander Nicholas Edgerton, Earl of Chester and Miss Julia Deering.

Tropes: Peer Hero/Companion Heroine

This was so freaken adorable!!! I love Chester and Julia… and Charlie and Lady Chester (aka grandmama). Such a heartfelt story of love, hope, and redemption (and not to have false assumptions). Totally the perfect Christmas tale. I enjoyed this one very much.

I love Deb Marlowe’s stories. She’s one of my keeper shelf author.

4 1/2 stars
***********************************

The Mistletoe Trap by Eve Pendle

Starring Amelia Chilson and Robert Danbury

Tropes: Widower with child, second chance, unrequited love.

Ooooh this was my first Eve Pendle experience and I loved it! Robert and Amelia broke my heart a little because they could have been together all those years ago if they would just have communicated better. But hey, everything happens in its own time.

Will definitely see what other stories Eve Pendle has. Glad I “discovered” her.

4 1/2 stars
***********************************
A Most Inconvenient Earl by Claire Delacroix

Starring Eurydice Goodrnham and Sebastian Montgomery, Earl of Rockmorton.

Trope: Married in Haste, Marriage of Convenience, Marriage Bargain, Close Proximity, Elopement.

This was my first Claire Delacroix story and OMG I loooooooooved it… so much feels for Eurydice and Sebastian. This book constantly made me smile and I loved every second I spent with these two.

Eurydice is a “by the book” heroine… literally. Everything in life that she wants to experience, she needs to first read about it first. I love that Sebastian is drawing her out of her comfort zone and making her think outside the literary volumes. She was a fantastic heroine.

Sebastian has a Devil-may-care attitude, but that’s all for show… he’s the wonderful kind of hero who actually believes in love, but a tragic loss has made him guarding his heart a bit. I absolutely loved Sebastian, especially since he made me smile every time he teased Eurydice out of her shell. He is such a sigh-worthy hero.

This story is good and I will be looking for more books by Claire Delacroix.

5 stars
***********************************

Joy to the World by Nicole Zoltack

Starring Eliza Berkeley and Stephen Huntington, Duke of Wyndale

Trope: Fake/Real Duke, Fake Betrothal, Intrigue.

This was my first story by Nicole Zoltack and I found it interesting. Under the circumstances, I understood why Eliza kept walking away from Stephen, but I wish they had more meaningful conversations.

3 stars
***********************************

The Lady’s Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem by Emmanuelle de Maupassant

Starring Ursula (Arrington) Abernathy (aka Little Bear) and Rye Dalreagh, the new Lord Balmore.

Trope: Hero and heroine in disguise one of my favorite tropes and one that I don’t come across too often. So I already knew was in for a treat with this one.

I totally enjoyed Ursula and Rye’s road to HEA. This is Edwardian meets Western and it was the perfect combination... coz I’m a sucker for cowboys. I laughed out loud so many times in this book. Add a touch of intrigue and this was truly a fun read. I loved it!!

Emmanuelle de Maupassant is a keeper shelf author. Her books and characters are delicious.

4 1/2 stars
***********************************

Her Accidental Groom by Nadine Millard

Starring Natalia Soronsky and Lord Benjamin Trafford, Earl of Staunton.

Tropes: Childhood Nemesis, Enemies to lovers, Fake Engagement

I loooooooved this novella soooooo much. I laughed and sighed... I am bawling at the end!! Natalia was such a fun heroine... and Ben was totally a swoonalicious hero. Loved their tension. I smiled a lot during this story. I will be re-reading this one again and again, fo’sho!! I hope Bea (Natalia ‘s BFF and Ben’s cousin) gets her own story.

5 Stars

3 stars: Characters and storyline were good. Some parts kept my attention. But will not be re-reading this story.

4 stars: Book was great. Loved the characters. Storyline kept me entertained... but did not make me cry.

4 1/2 stars: Book was great. Loved the characters. Storyline kept me entertained. Gave me the feels and aaaaaaalmost made me cry in some parts.

5 stars: Ugly cried AF. Major book hangover. Characters and storyline were freaken amazeballs. Made me wanna hug the author for writing a book that gave me all the feels!! Will definitely be reading this story over and over and over again!!

Enjoyed the diversity in this anthology full of interesting situations that kept me busy for several nights with emotional and sometimes intriguing narratives. I read them all! Some of the stories are romantic and a bit innocent, in others the torrid passion is present with determined heroines who know what they want and how to obtain it and there were others who surprised me with romance, passion, mystery, intrigue and even supernatural things. A whole buffet for those of us who like to be surprised. I love the anthologies! Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received free from Booksprout.
A CUP OF CHEER Deb Marlowe- a romantic and clean story with a Miss bringing Xmas spirit forth and a Rake with regrets. Tender scenes with a little boy apprentice cupid that made me smile often with his innocent and very witty comments and also, there was this Nick guy that left me thinking. Interesting, amusing and romantic.
JOY TO THE WORLD by Nicole-Clean and romantic story with a Miss confused by her feelings, a Duke in need to clean his name, an unhinged villain and danger lurking in the dark. With the maiden in distress, appearances can be deceiving! Witty, amusing and suspense in this story.
The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem by Emmanuelle de Maupassante- I really liked the plot of this story with a protagonist who takes her future in her hands. Interesting and entertaining story with suspense, an intriguing mystery, danger, romance and passion.
A Countess for Christmas by Anthea Lawson- A romance with a protagonist burdened by her circumstances, but then her brother's friend brought joy to her life. And there was something else in there, and very helpful, that left me intrigued. Sweet romance with surprises that I liked.
A Most Inconvenient Earl by Claire Delacroix-Romance, decision and confidence with a Miss trying to secure the future she wanted for her, and got a Rake entangled in her web. I was amazed and amused by her way of calculating her chances and her choices. In truth he had no chance of escape. Romance, some suspense and amusing scenes and passion.
HER ACCIDENTAL GROOM Nadine Millard- From enemies to friends but with big hope for much more. The Russian girl got her English Lord. Bickering, amusing scenes and witty comments that kept me chuckling.
MISS ISABELLA THAWS TO FROSTY LORD Larissa Lyons -With friends and other souls helping her overcome her misfortune, she found what she needed. Strong emotions, romance and good intentions from the other side. Interesting, different with some amusing situations.
CHRISTMAS SPIRITS Jane Charles-Smugglers, a headstrong relative determined to be a matchmaker, a protagonist affected by the past, and a smart Earl who finds what he needed from life. Lovely story with strong emotions, some adventure and romance that I liked.
THE MISTLETOE TRAP by Eve Pendle-A matter of poor communication, wasted time and regret, but all was not lost. Interesting and passionate protagonist from whom you can learn a lot and a protagonist who needs to hone his courting skills. Amusing and witty story with lot of heated passion.
TO FALL FOR A DUKE BY CHRISTMAS by Sadie Bosque-A Miss in need of rescue and a Duke struggle between his responsibilities and his feelings. Strong emotions and despair that made me feel sad for the protagonist. She kept me in suspense waiting for the outcome of the plot.
WHAT IF I STILL LOVE YOU by Erica Taylor-An underrated and rejected by his relatives Earl, and a woman who has felt mistreated by the circumstances. Fate offers the protagonists a second chance, but much depends on them, and the responsibilities weigh heavily. Strong emotions, romance, steamy passion and amusing secondary characters.
Christmas Promises by Brenda Hiatt-A Lord in search of a wife and an innocent and at the same time audacious Miss eager to break through her barriers. Romance, bickering, family drama. It's like the introduction to Christmas Bride.

A Cup of Cheer - Deb Marlowe ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was an easy and fun read.

The Mistletoe Trap - Eve Pendle ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I liked this story as I enjoyed the two characters. I may read more by this author in the future, maybe even more of this series as I believe it is the first in the Faking Stitch series.

A Most Inconvenient Earl - Claire Delacroix ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read this while travelling over Christmas. Unfortunately, I lost my e-reader and had to take a break. However, I was lucky, and it was handed into lost and found so I could continue the story on the way home. I was surprised how much I wanted to continue the story. I liked the character of Eurydice; she was amusing and independent. I am glad I could follow how she and Sebastian ended up together through their marriage of convenience.
This is the fourth novella in The Brides of North Barrows, and I fully intend to read the first three. I especially want to see how the sister and the duke's relationship developed.

The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem - Emmanuelle de Maupassant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wish this story was. a little longer so the characters could have been developed a bit more. However, I did like the story. It had mystery, a bit of white lies haha, and romance.

A Countess for Christmas - Anthea Lawson ⭐️

Not sure why but I didn't enjoy this one as much, I did like the main characters' communications over letters before meeting each other though.

Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord - Larissa Lyons ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story was terrific and made me tear up a few times. I have already downloaded A Snowlit Christmas Kiss, Anne and Ed's story.

Her Accidental Groom - Nadine Millard ⭐️⭐️

Christmas Spirits - Jane Charles ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really liked this story and it is an amazing beginning to a series of stories. I really enjoyed the writing and the characters.

Joy to the World - Nicole Zoltack ⭐️⭐️

This was not my favourite, fell a bit flat for me, it was ok though.

To Fall for a Duke by Christmas - Sadie Bosque ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thought this was ok, but I'm unsure what I would want to improve this. I liked the premise of the story.

What If I Still Love You - Erica Taylor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Now this story worked for me, remeeting your true love who you tried to elope with ten years ago Beautiful!

Christmas Promises - Brenda Hiatt ⭐️⭐️
It was ok, I am glad that there is another book, The Christmas Bride that continues Holly's story as I felt a bit like this was the start of a story and not a complete one. I may read it in the future. Maybe it will make me think more finding of this one.

Overall I really enjoyed reading these stories over the festive period this year.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review. Average 4.33
General: The blurb of each stories is at the very beginning of the book instead of at the beginning of each book; poorly organized. Mostly clean w/some exceptions. Two stories had almost the same plot w/ghosts etc. I would enjoy a book much more if authors writing in other languages would actually know either how to write it (for ex. viola vs. voilà) or how to use it (for ex. fiancé is NOT for both male and female). The fact that people think they know what the other felt is a pet peeve of mine and appears in at least 3 stories.

1. **** Not a bad story. 2. *** FF - We should have been told. Many expressions about sewing. Too many repetitions. Overly suggestive. 3. ***** Utterly funny. Engaging. Sweet. Best so far. 4. ***** Lovely story. 5. ***** Murder, suspense, mystery. I was thoroughly confused with all the names in just a few chapters. 6. ***** Many tender moments. 7. ***** I loved all the banter. Poor girl; her father did quite a number on her. Intimate affair - he even prepared a pile of washcloths for afterwards. 8. **** By chap.3, there was a lot of repeating. The editing was a let-down. 9. ****** Some awkward moments. LOL. But many repeats here too. 10. **** Steamy? Not at all and the only (meh) bedroom scene is the epilogue. 11. **** Read this one in another anthology out this year too. 12. *** I loved Lord Vandover and Holly but I couldn't put up with the rest of the people around them, including Reginald.

This anthology is a group of Regency romances all centered around Chrismas. I received this as an ARC from Booksprout and when I got through it, I realized I should have sent Booksprout a thank you note, because this was a very good anthology.

We all know anthologies could go either way - they could have one good story or ten, they could have one badly written story or ten. I like them because they give me a chance to read new authors, and revisit ones I love.

If I had to rate it by the good vs. bad comparison, then it was four stars.

If I had to rate it by the entertainment value, it was a five star book, and that's the way I rated it here. Not every story will appeal to everyone and anyone buying an anthology needs to remember that. In my case, there was only one story that didn't stand up to the test for me and because this is an anthology and not wholly written by that one author, I'll keep that particular opinion to myself (yes, it does happen, not often but it does).

Every single one of these authors did a great job, but because I love her work so much, I have to call out "A Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem ". Emmanuelle did a wonderful job on this story. Just enough sex mixed in with a romance and just a little bit of skullduggery too.

Do I recommend picking up this book? Of course, where else would you get this many stories for so little money. Even if you paid 99 cents for each, you'd spend a lot more than the price of this book. That's a win-win for everyone. And thank you to the authors who wrote these wonderful stories.

12 Christmas stories by different writers and also different kinds of stories, with of course the common theme: Christmas. I dont like all stories equally, but some are really nice. I thought The Mistletoe Trap was a nice story, but it made me a bit gloomy: how quickly misunderstandings can arise and the consequences thereof. I dont think Robert comes out very well, but I think Amelia is fantastic. She doesn;t let society and the fact that she doesnt have a man stop her from doing what she wants. In A most inconvenient Earl we meet another spirited lady. Eurydice wants to get married for practical reasons and goes straight for her goal. Although Sebastian doesn;t know what to do with it at first, he thinks it;s a good idea, but soon he wants more. In the Ladys guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem, Ursula flees from her tyrannical uncle after her fathers death. She meets Rye, newly arrived from Texas, humorous writing style. I already knew A Countess for Christmas, a beautiful story. Her Accidental groom, about a fake engagement that becomes reality. Maybe not an original theme, but original and well described. Nice chemistry between Natalia and Benjamin. Christmas Spirits features the matchmaking Duke of Danby.
Nice holiday read

This is a collection of a dozen absolutely wonderful holiday romances by twelve very special authors. Different tropes and lots of characters with different personalities keep your attention from one story to the next. All of these stories are well-written and entertaining. There were some stand-outs for me. I love Duke of Danby stories, and Christmas Spirits is a good one. In A Cup of Cheer, a grandmother, her kind and caring companion, her formerly rakish grandson, and an adorable great-grandson get the chance to leave loneliness behind and form a family. In The Lady’s Guide to Mistletoe and Mischief there is lots of fun with a large, sometimes odd, family, a cowboy learning to be an earl, an heiress waiting for her birthday and independence, a murder mystery, and a possibly haunted castle. Twelve stories full of Christmas cheer and romance. I happily recommend this collection.

I read most of the stories in this book and it had a wide variety of themes and level of "good." Also a lot of the stories mention winter, snow or even that it's Christmas but don't make you feel like it is Christmas (Sadie Bosque's story comes to mind - winter atmosphere, yes. Christmas, not really).

Twelve Lords for Christmas
Have not read yet
To Fall for a Duke by Christmas - Sadie Bosque — I own this one

My favorites were
A Most Inconvenient Earl
Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord
Her Accidental Groom

The others I read were decent but not fantastic. The only one I didn't like was The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem - I just think this author isn't to my taste. I did not read Christmas Spirits or Christmas Promises as the ideas for the stories just didn't interest me.

This is a great collection of historical romances over the Christmas holiday. You will have hours of reading pleasure while reading this variety of authors stories.
While I enjoyed each book this review is for The Ladies Guide to Mistletoe,And Mayhem.

This is a well written holiday romance with strong characters and an intriguing story line. The author does a terrific job building the story with all the suspense along with the romance. The scenes are painted perfectly and the story moves quickly and smoothly.

It's an entertaining collection with with a variety of story types and I would recommend reading.

This anthology has something for every romance taste; sweet to spicy!

What I love most about anthologies like this is finding new authors and adding to the reading list!

Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord by Larissa Lyons is one. I absolutely love when grumpy gets changed by the h and that's just what Isabella does. Or does the grumpy earl remove some "blindness?"

What if I Still Love You by Erica Taylor. I love a second chance romance and this had my heart going pitter-pat!

And not new to me: The Lady’s Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem by Emmanuelle de Maupassant. An etiquette tutor, or more? More for sure!

What a great distraction to make the holiday's even more fun! And this highlighted only a few of the wonderful stories! There's so much more!

Twelve Lords For Christmas is a fun collection of previously published Christmas novellas filled with romance, passion, and fun. Each story was different and unique in its own way. You will find light-hearted and joyful stories, and a couple that mix in serious subjects and mysterious foreboding. My particular favorite novellas in this collection are Deb Marlowe's A Cup Of Cheer, and The Ladies Guide To Mistletoe and Mayhem by Emmanuelle De Maupassant, but I could be biased as they are two of my go-to authors, guaranteed for a good story line. All tallied, this anthology was an excellent way to kick off the holiday season; a great variety of writing styles and plots, but all with a HEA.

Some of these romances are quite good. Others okay. The first A Cup of Cheer read rather dully for me and contained no steam though Eve Pendle's second was a steamy reading treat. Emmanuelle de Maupassant gives us the delightful yarn about a tall Texas rancher who inherits a lordship and a beautiful heiress in hiding, Ursula, who has adopted another person's identity so that she can elude her evil uncle who intends to steal her inheritance before her imminent 25th birthday. A lovely romance between opposites who are intensely attracted to each other with sensual steam. Would have liked the anthology more evenly passionate. Received this ARC and have voluntarily reviewed.

The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem is the book I'm reviewing. Great book. Rye, a Texan rancher finds himself the new Earl of Dunrannoch heir...so off to Scotland he goes. Ursula, finds herself penniless and forced to marry...so off to Scotland she runs. She takes on the role of a governess...to the new heir. And the Mayhem begins! Along with ghosts and murder. Great short Christmas time read.

There are 12 stories in all, each by a different author. I did read all the stories in the book and it was nice that they were short stories/novellas.

Lady’s Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem
Two people trying to be themselves despite all expectations was an interesting story. I really liked how both Ursula and Rye’s personal situations while different, were actually quite similar. I also loved how Ursula took charge of her situation albeit in a unique way. The added suspense of the castle curse was a wonderful addition driving the plot. An enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.

A great collection for Christmas!
This was a really nice collection of stories and I enjoyed the book. Emmanuelle de Maupas offered this collection on Booksprout so I will center in on her work. The tale has betrayal, deception, mistrust, a wonderful mystery all woven into a nice love story. I liked Ursula and Rye and I think you will too. This story like the other in the book have a nice flow with great dialogue. I am glad I have this collection in my library and I am very happy to recommend it. Christmas themed regency romance anthology.

I only recognized a couple of the names of the authors in this anthology but picked it up to read because Christmas.

Just like any anthology, some are good and some are not great at all but overall I think it was good. None were super memorable or really original. The thing I liked most about it is that most of the short stories were definitely revolving around Christmas and I loved the quaintness of the holidays told from a couple hundred years ago.

I really enjoyed this whole anthology. Some of the authors were new to me but some were old favorites. I would recommend this anthology to anyone who enjoys reading holiday stories.
