For Your Bite Only

The best word for Jasmine Renard’s past year is a four-letter word. After years of concerts and increasing recognition, a rogue group of vampire hunters forced her into hiding. When the offer of a lifetime to perform again comes from the arrogant vampire she’s dreamed of shoving off a cliff, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything. Including, Luca Martens.

Luca has waited long enough to be onstage with Jasmine again. Their electrifying musical chemistry damn near blew his mind the last time they performed. To the point he mishandled what happened backstage after their last concert. He’d do anything to feel the spark again while playing, the one only she can ignite. But she hates him.

For Your Bite Only by Zoe Forward is a stand-alone novella. Jasmine Renard, our heroine, is an upcoming famous pianist, who stepped away from appearances due to a rogue group of vampire hunters, who want to kill her. Jasmine stays in hiding, until her friend convinces her to fill in Luca Martens concert. She hesitates, not because of her fear (she is told she will have security to protect her), but she hates Luca, though he is a master violinist at the top of the world.

Luca Martens, our hero, wasn’t sure it was a good idea for Jasmine to fill in, but secretly he was looking forward to her performance, as the chemistry between them in a duo blows his mind, including sexually. Jasmine was engaged to Luca’s brother, before Marcus broke it off, though they remained friends. It was Marcus who convinces Jasmine to perform. When they meet again backstage, Luca feels the chemistry, as well as Jasmine’s nervousness to perform again; especially her facing Luca again.

What follows is an amazing performance when the two of them play together that brings accolades, and Luca is determined to win over Jasmine. He knew the real reason he behaved badly was they he had strong feelings for her, and was jealous that she was engaged to his brother for a prearranged marriage. When an attempt is made on Jasmine’s life, Luca arranges her to live in his mansion to protect her, as well as have her continue to work with him in performances. Secretly, he pushes his parent to allow him to win over Jasmine to be his wife, instead of another prearranged marriage.

The chemistry between Luca and Jasmine was hot and sizzling, with both recognizing their feelings for each other. I really loved Luca and Jasmine, as they made a great couple destined to be together. Jasmine, thinking she has a chance to go out while Luca is away, is attacked by the rogue vampires, which she manages to survive with help from Marcus and Luca.

For Your Bite Only was a fast enjoyable romantic novella, with a fantastic sexy couple. There was some suspense and danger, but the chemistry between Luca and Jasmine, and their music together made this a wonderful read. Zoe Forward once again gives us an exciting, fun and steamy story that was very well written. I would love to see another story about Marcus.

This is my first foray into the author’s paranormal offerings. I was enchanted by her contemporary offerings, and now I think I have just discovered a bunch more titles I need to devour. This story pulled me in from the opening words. I was instantly caught up in the push/pull dynamic between Jasmine and Luca. They’re both stubborn and independent. In fact, they could be mirror reflections of one another. Only these two understand each other properly. Understand the pull of the music that flows through them. There’s quite a lot of backstory that’s fleshed out in this book, but it kind of only makes me want to know more about these vampires and their world. Whether this is part of a series or not, I need to know the more about it.

(Muse Chronicles, 1)
Zoe Forward

I absolutely loved reading this novella. It was a page turner and took no time to read. I liked the main characters and how they fit together perfectly. I don't read too many books from the paranormal genre. I have enjoyed each series written by the author.
I can't wait to read what she publishes in the Muse Chronicles.

What a fun, unique little PNR! Jasmine is a pianist and Luca is a violinist, but when they play together on stage, they become something else…something charged and sensual. Oh, they’re also vampires.

Misunderstandings and hidden feelings keep them apart for years, but when Luca finds out Jasmine is being hunted, he does everything he can to protect her. What follows is a quick, sweet romance that while fulfilling, left me wanting so much more!

I loved the low-angst and the sweet thoughts. I loved the progression and the resolution. But I wanted more. More romance. More steam. More Luca and Jasmine.

This was a new to me author and she did not disappoint! I freaking loved this book! I'm not ashamed to admit that I was a huge Twilight fan back in the days of the Twilight craze. I still love a good vampire romance. I am always intrigued how different writers portray vampires.
Jasmine and Luca are both stubbornly independent vampires and talented musicians in their own right. Jasmine, a beautiful pianist, and Luca, a fiercely dedicated violinist, the two made magic on stage together in the past. When Luca invites her to perform with him again, he's drawn to her more than ever. Even though they're fighting the dregs of a turbulent past, they weave their magic on stage, courting their passion for each other. But a jealous adversary who wants Luca for herself has outed Jasmine to vampire hunters trying to eliminate her as competition for Luca. Will Jasmine and Luca be able to get their happily ever after or will the hunters finally succeed in squashing her once and for all?

Jasmine has had a rough past year. When is is invited to return to playing the piano she takes the chance even though it is with Luca who she doesn't want to share the stage with. Luca has feeling for Jasmine but he denies them. When he vows to keep Jasmine safe.

This was great quick PNR read with wonderful characters. I love the scenes of Jasmine and Luca playing together. You could feel the music and the feelings between them come off the pages.

There was plenty of music, angst, some nail biting moments and romance.

This book is an absolute blast to read. I loved both Luca and Jasmine, both very strong and fiercely independent. They’re also ridiculously stubborn and broken, yet they are destined to be together. With a terrible threat hanging over Jasmine, will they survive long enough to heal? My single complaint about this book is that it’s too short! I want to read more!

a good short novella that could have been easily made into a longer novel! really enjoyable characters and background characters with lots of personality with a strong connect between them all. not to mention just enough spice to keep the story moving at a great pace without overwhelming the overall story. worth the read!

Loved this book from the beginning as Jasmine and Luca's history is shown. I love supernatural books so the fact that they are vampires and have the love for music and making a name for themself. But the danger was lurking around the corner for Jasmine and it seems only a Martel can save her. Just an intense and interesting book I am so glad to have read.

This was a quick read but it was packed with so much passion! I can picture Luca and Jasmine performing together and the energy building up when they finish. It makes for some steamy scenes between them. These two inspire each other to be better and bring out the best as well. I seriously just loved everything about this book and kinda wished it was a full novel.

Received from an ARC program that I belong to, this was better than I expected - no insult intended. Subject concept tickled me, and it was a pleasant surprise to find out that the author ran with it and wrote it well ;-)

Highly recommended.

A delightful novella worth reading. I couldn't put it down (even though I had to - grumble, grumble). Luca and Jasmine make beautiful music onstage. But can they co-exist offstage without spontaneously combusting? And who is trying to hurt Jasmine and why?

This was a quick and easy paranormal read that may take you an hour to read. Suspense, action and chemistry off the charts sexually and musically. Interesting story line that I have not seen before so that was a good surprise!! I definitely want to read more from this author.

This is a very quick read. But I have to say I read a lot of books on supernatural and I really liked the different twist to this one. Music driven and wow the chemistry is crazy. Love story, family and trust with mates... Its a crazy book but really well written..I wished it was longer.

A well written novella that was fast paced but held my interest as I read. The chemistry between Jasmine and Lucia was off the charts and the author had a way off bringing you to their world and letting you get loss in it for awhile.

A very quick read but full of action. When Jasmine was betrothed to Luca’s brother who doesn’t go through with it her family is blacklisted. Luca has always wanted Jasmine for himself but he didn’t want to go against the family but when he finds a way to be close to her he takes it the problem is hunters want her dead. Jasmine and Luca were very personable for vampires.
