This book was a surprise for me as I thought it would be a narrative about the author's experience as a cowboy.
However, I found the book very entertaining and how the author wrote this book in "dialect" is beyond my comprehension. The author was obviously a very patient man. Two of the cowboys always talk in "dialect" ("hit or hits" instead of its or it for example like "hit looks like rain"). The third cowboy speaks in much too educated English to be a real uneducated cowboy of the times (unless he is the author with a different name).
The book turns out to be about cowboys, and I assume the three main cowboys are fictitious, as is probably "Circle Dot". However, the author relates the experiences of the cowboys with towns, real people, and events that make you think (at times) the narrative may be about real people.
With that teaser, I will leave the review that this surprise book occupied me and keep me interested for this cold wet day and is well worth the read for the entertainment value if nothing else.
