What happens when two men lose the love of their life?

Davenport
I thought I found where I belonged with my husband and wife. Everything was perfect until we lost her on the same day our son came into this world. Together, we tried to stay strong and focused on bringing her dream to life, but maybe it’s finally time for us to follow our own dreams.

Can I convince my husband it’s time? Does moving on mean that I’m betraying the one woman we both loved so much?

Oliver
She was our everything, and I’ve spent each day living as though she’s going to walk back into our lives. Our son needs us, but without his mother here – we’re lost. Davenport is convinced that we can find what we had before but what if he’s wrong?

Is it possible to find the same kind of connection with someone new?

Emily
It feels like fate landed me here between two men who seem to speak right to my heart. They’re trying to heal their brokenness, and I’ve got my own anxieties to work through.

Can I let go and give in to a connection with these two men that’s so innate that It’s hard to pull away from?

This was almost unreadable for me. Ouch. It hurts to say but.. yeah.. painful.

Painful Diaologe. Instalove for the heroine from BOTH the heroes. Saying everyone's full name at least 3 or 4 times every chapter. Clunky and awkwardly worded scenes.. it was a hot mess.

The characters were each very sweet and I appreciated the look at anxiety from Emily but... its a no from me.

2 Stars
3.5 on the spice scale.

I've always been impressed by Leigh Lennon's ability to take a subject that may not be mainstream, and write about it in a way that makes you not only love it, but accepting. This book is no different. Is it the threesome that makes it different? Not if you've read her Foundations series. Is it the married gay men raising a baby? Not if you've read her Love Is Love series.
This time Lennon tackles grief, loss, and mental anguish in her main characters and lets you join them on their journey toward healing. Of course finding love and a happy ending is this authors forte, and I'll return for it every time

Readers who are uncomfortable with unconventional romances might find themselves leery of the storyline of this book, but that trepidation will have you missing out on this emotional tale of healing & learning to live life to the fullest. When a loving triad finds their future destroyed during childbirth, two men are left to pick up the pieces to make a life for their child that they never envisioned in a sweet, sexy, and sentimental story.

For the last year Davenport and Oliver have been busy raising their son, not thinking about themselves or their own needs. The moment they meet Emily though is the moment everything changes for them. She might be nervous about forging a life with them, but they're fully committed to her and willing to wait for her for as long as it takes. I was drawn to this pair and their loving devotion to their son. Theirs is a sad history, one that broke my heart in the telling, but their decision to finally move on was inspiring and had me cheering. Emily's an unconventional heroine, one whose story pulled me in from the start. Emily's history of mental illness, her history of anxiety, made her a compelling character. The author's handling of Emily's issues makes this story even stronger and strengthened my connection to this young woman who thinks herself unworthy of love. Together they make a formidable trio in a story that pulls at the heartstrings while having you frantically turning the pages to see what comes next!

3 Stars for the story
4 Stars for the mental health content

This is the first in a new series by this author. The focus will be on the Three Palms resort and Port and Oliver are the owners. They will cater to other triads and their families. This story launches how the resort came to be and lets us into the lives of Oliver and Port.

They have suffered a terrible loss and a year later are still trying to heal and move on. They didn't have another relationship on their radar until emily dropped into their world.

The actual story itself is typical for the trope. Nothing too exciting. What the author has done extremely well is let us into Emily's world of debilitating anxiety. There were points in the story where I just needed to put the book down because I was becoming anxious for Emily. The author deals with the topic by informing but not prescribing how to handle someone with the disorder. What she gives us are two very patient, very invested men who not only want to provide a safe place for Emily, they want to continually lift her up so she knows her worth to them.

The secondary characters are interesting but I notice the second book is a whole new set of characters. More faces to get to know I guess.

Good start to the series.

I’d have to give this a 4.25⭐️’s but rounded down.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We have to widowed MMC’s and their ~2 year old son who are still grieving their diseased wife, while trying to fulfill a goal they all shared.

Then their business partner (whose a lawyer) (I think), is on vacation at the MMC’s resort when an urgent case needs paperwork done that’s so confidential, he has to fly out their paralegal to ensure everything is signed for the case he’s working on.

The FMC is the paralegal whose anxiety and depression holds her down so much that she can barely breathe next to someone, let alone make a decision outside of her comfort zone.

The book shows the struggles between each person individually and as a whole. It was well done as to not belittle their feelings, and yet didn’t word vomit and repeat over and over again. It allowed me, as a reader, to understand and empathize with the characters.

It was a lot more emotional than I expected, but I did love the break in intensity when the FMC got comfortable enough to start telling dumb jokes as I’ve breakers. Some of them were actually quite funny! LOL!

Not a fan.

The writing is just too painfully obvious. The characters are incompletely developed. And the way social anxiety is portrayed is too often inaccurate. The character came across as more negative than anxious. There was little chemistry between the characters. I skimmed large parts of it and didn't miss anything integral to the plot, which was pretty thin anyway.

Wow, this book has all the feels and deals with a matter that is rarely mentioned in a book - anxiety. Davenport and Oliver meet Emily when she is holding their son Jayden, and let's say the meeting really did not go well. Davenport and Oliver suffered a huge tragedy over a year ago when they lost their wife after childbirth, but that really does not excuse the way Oliver treated Emily. Emily suffers from anxiety, and while she does not connect or let adults in, she is a natural with children and Jayden was drawn to her from the start. Davenport realizes he and Oliver are broken and need to move on, but Oliver isn't yet on board. However spending time with Emily and getting a glimpse of her true self, really opens both of their eyes, and the fact that she and Jayden are so enamored of each other totally helps. The guys were so very patient and accommodating with Emily - giving her the time to heal, grow and learn that they can be trusted. The dynamic and chemistry among them was really powerful - between the three of them and they singly. Leigh Lennon is a master at writing about Triads, and I have loved every one I have read, but this one seems even more special. I also loved that so many characters from her other books were mentioned in this one, which makes this series special to me. It's always nice to learn more about characters you loved! I am very much so looking forward to the next book in this series. If you haven't ready Leigh yet, and are open to relationships that may not fit the normal ones you think of, I highly recommend reading her and this book. Even if you aren't sure, she more than likely will make you a fan - I know she did me.

This book was soooo good.. I'm already a fan of Leigh's MMF's books and how she handled everything in their dynamics. This one is so well written with a delicate issue handled so well. An issue of anxiety isn't exactly put in books but with this one it was and the dynamics of Davenport, Oliver and Emily that made them so much stronger in the end. Davenport and Oliver had the life they wanted until tragedy struck them. It was heartbreaking what happened but they had to heal and raise their son. They had a dream to fulfill.. Enter Emily. Emily is a great character but she has some serious things to overcome. She has crippling anxiety that holds her back from sticking up for herself and relationships. When she first met the guys, there was a strong connection but the timing wasn't right. The guys were incredible with her. They went at her pace and let her decide what they were going to do. It was magical to see her transform and the love grow between the 3 of them. I have a feeling this series might be my favorite but I also said that about her foundations series.. She just has a way of writing characters that you connect with on a whole different level and you want to be apart of there world. This book was so amazing and I loved every minute of it!!! I can't wait to read book 2 and see what happens there!!!

A new series about triads, sign me right on up! We have an established couple, Davenport and Ollie, who have lost their third after the birth of their child. Most relationships would not last after such a loss, but the guys have put their child first, their project second, and their relationship has come in third. Don't mistake me, they are very much in love, its just other things in life have taken priority and survivors guilt is a real thing. Emily/Em has anxiety, and not just the regular run of the mill, testing makes me anxious. Em's anxiety is almost crippling, which makes it hard to date. But what happens when Em realizes that Port and Ollie are serious in their request to learn more about her? She runs, scared of everything that is running through her head and the feelings that she feels. The next time she sees them, they are still very serious about wanting to get to know her better, will Em try and give them a chance or will her anxiety prove be her nemesis yet again?

This was such a good story, the issues that the MC's had to deal with made them even more real in the eyes of the reader. I loved how patient the guys were with Em, and how once Em realized her feelings, didn't hold back. My only issue is that at points this felt like it dragged a bit, but other than that this was a really good read and I give it 4 stars.

I thought this one was going to be a light, fun, sexy romp with 3 people, that was sure not it, as witnessed by how the book opened. Totally gutted before chapter 1 even happened. The aftermath was Port and Ollie getting on with their lives, raising their son, living a dream with a nod to the woman they lost.

I really loved the idea of the resort, a place where poly relationships could live out in the open while on vacation, with no scorn or people looking at them oddly. So seeing Port and Ollie get the resort ready to open was great! They needed the little runs to make sure things would go great before opening in full.

Enter Emily, who I loved from the start and hated how life seemed scare her. Emily was so great, she deserved great things in her life. I loved that it was this timid little mouse that seemed to bring Ollie and Port back to life, to see past the pain they had been living through the last year. I also really loved that the guys "got" Emily and were good to go slow and at her pace, giving Emily a place to flourish, to grow strong and believe in herself.

While things were a bit dicey towards the end, the scare was just what all 3 of them needed to put their feelings out there for all and to start to build a life going forward. I loved seeing how happy and thriving they were in the future, all of them deserved it!

sweet and swoony

Sweet and swoony slow burn stories aren’t usually my go to read, as I usually gravitate to faster moving, heavy spice erotic reads. However, this book is very good.

The plot was well developed and easy to follow. The MMCs are sweet cinnamon rolls that are easy to fall for. The FMC is sweet and sassy, but has several social anxiety with a touch of agoraphobia. The social anxiety is very well written and lends a bit of education to the reader upon the matter.

I would have liked to have seen the MMCs having a bit more of a backstory for themselves, maybe reasons for their career choices or possibly having tense family dynamics or difficulties growing up that shaped who they became as adults. I felt there was a missing connection I needed in that regard to “bond” with those characters.

I chose to use the KU read and listen function for this book. The narrators for the characters both did a good job and bringing the characters to life. The male narrator, Chris Chambers, did well at separating the two MMC voices, the voices and inflections were fairly similar to one another. The audiobook is narrated in dual presentation.

I absolutely loved reading about Ollie, Port, and Emily. Ollie and Port lost their first love while giving birth. They have their son to remind them of her every day. They own a resort for alternative lifestyles. Emily battles with anxiety attacks over and over. Not many people get her. Her boss has her meet him at the resort to bring him some paperwork he needs to sign. When Port and Ollie see her at the resort holding their baby, their relationship doesn’t start out quite the right way. Emily retreats and just wants to go home. After two months away, she comes back to the resort. It’s like the rest is history. Ollie and Port realized they want to move on. Emily isn’t so sure what she wants especially with her anxiety. She’s not sure anyone can deal with the way she is. Can love win? Will these three realize they are better together than apart. What a journey Ollie, Port, and Emily took us on. Ollie and Port are definitely, in my opinion, what Emily need.

Adrift was an emotional, heartbreaking, and beautiful journey. Oliver, Davenport, and Emily stole my heart. Emily has a wall up and tries to get through each day. Oliver and Davenport have dealt with loss, but trying to bring a dream to life and focus on their son has all their attention. Until one day, fate and connected circles of friends and business bring these three together in the Florida Keys. Emily, Davenport, and Oliver have a connection and through it brings all kinds of ideas and feelings, but all of them are unsure how to address these feelings and if they want to explore them. These three will take you on an emotional rollercoaster that will have you devouring this book waiting to see what happens between these three. They each have their own pasts and anxieties, but will their connection be enough to break down the walls and build a future together or will they break it before it goes anywhere? Take a chance on these three, they will have you wanting more!

Port and Ollie have been adrift for the last year raising their baby Jayden without his momma. They love that little boy with all their hearts but they are starting to realize that they have to learn to live for themselves too. Emily popped into their resort for a couple of days to bring her boss some paperwork. She had no idea the changes that were headed her way.

Adrift is an emotional, sweet and sexy story. Emily is dealing with crippling anxiety while Port and Ollie have not completely dealt with their overwhelming grief. Love that we got to spend time with Jack, Clara and Bodhi as well. The author does an amazing job of giving us tough subjects and opening our eyes to issues we might never think about. She writes with such heart for her characters. Hope we get to spend more time with Stella in the future as well. Looking forward to more Threes in the Keys.

At the core of this story it was a beautiful love story. From that first page I knew it was going to be an emotional ride. I love that Leigh took a serious subject and not just brought light to it but educated people.

This story didn’t just have hot chemistry and sexy scenes but had patient and swoon worthy men. Ollie and Port were sexy in their own right together but add in Emily and this trio was combustible. I loved how this was a slow build and Ollie and Port were so lovable and patient. They took the extra time to get to know Emily and go at her pace. And then there’s Emily and how she was able to overcome fears and live this extraordinary life.

This story got me in the feels and I couldn’t put it down. From beginning to end I was entranced and loved every minute. I look forward to more in the series!

Adrift by Leigh Lennon had me so invested from the moment I downloaded and started reading . Leigh is a semi new author to me but has quickly become one of my very favorite and one click writers .I’ve never been one who was attracted to to romances with multiple partners , but Leigh has somehow found a way to change my outlook .with Adrift Leigh did Such a wonderful job addressing all the emotional troubles the characters went through, from loss , to grief , mental anguish and so much more .It’s a truly beautiful love story , with characters that have so many layers to them you won’t want to stop reading for a minute .No worries their is plenty of chemistry and steamy moments as well . This is a must read !!! Of course it has some serious topics but it’s also extremely East and so very enjoyable to read ❤️❤️❤️❤️

At its heart this book is simply a beautiful love story that offers up massive amounts of emotions and feels. However, it is also something a little bit more. Emily, Davenport and Oliver's romance is kind of sweet, kind of sad, a little funny, a tad steamy and has a great big heart. I found all these characters lovable and my heart simply ached for them. There is a rich depth to this read. Ollie and Port's loss is something most will feel a connection with and Emily's personal struggle may be an eye-opener for some but for others like myself, it will be a welcome spotlight on an issue we deal with every day. This was a truly wonderful romance, that kicks-off an exciting new series, that I can't wait to enjoy more of. This is my independent, impartial review.

I loved this story! I fell in love with this authors other series with Triads and not only did o get to see one of my favorite triads from that series on this book, but we also got to meet some amazing new characters. Ollie, Port and Em were amazing. I love that Oliver and Davenport didn’t push her away. They had such a tragic story, but they didn’t let that stop them from pursuing Emily. My heart hurt so bad for her. I have really bad anxiety and social settings make it worse. I’m not on the same ball part as Emily but I was able to really connect with her character and interdialogue. I won’t give too much away but I really did love this story and can’t wait for the next book! 5 stars #2OCCJD

I had been waiting patiently for this book to come out but was lucky enough to win an arc copy in a competition.

I was very lucky indeed! Adrift is the first book in a new series of Leigh’s and once again explores the triad relationship. Not only does it give you an insight into the dynamics of this relationship it also tackles hard subjects, the loss of a loved one and mental health issues. As always these subjects are tackled with grace and dignity by Leigh.

Sometimes it takes lost people to find each other even though the characters all have their own issues together they heal each other.

As with all Leigh’s books this is a truly well written MMF love story and I look forward to the next instalment of Threes in the Keys.

I've really become a big fan of Leigh Lennon's triad stories -full of steam, humor and emotion. Right off the bat, Adrift tugged at my heartstrings as Port and Oliver lost their wife in childbirth, then navigating their grief as they parent their son during his first year, and then come to terms with moving on when they meet Emily. Emily has crippling social anxiety, and having a son with anxiety, I could really identify and empathize with some of her reactions, and the fact that sometimes there is no identifiable cause for anxiety. Leigh Lennon did an excellent job of portraying her anxiety in a realistic way, while at the same time, not having it overtake the romance between her and the guys. Great start to the series and I can't wait to read the next one!

Wow! This book totally got me. Ok so Oliver and Davenport are raising their son without his mom, who was the wife in their relationship. So now it is just them and they have been grieving for a year and trying to work their way back to each other. In comes Emily. A natural with kids not so great interacting with adults (because let's face it.... Adults are Aholes). She is sweet and sassy, totally organized and fantastic with Jaden. Basically she is everything that will complete their triad! But getting her to see that is going to take some work. She has a lot of anxiety to work through and she needs to learn that she is worth the fight! Ollie and Port have their work cut out for them.... but of they can get her to see how wonderful she is..... they could be epic and they could all heal the broken pieces of each other- together!
Loved the story. Dealing with the death of the mother of your child would be so hard! I can not even imagine. And the social anxiety Emily deals with is very familiar to me. And I am loving this idea of a resort for alternative love-lifestyles! A way to meet up with others who share your interests so that you can make friends with other couples/triads (and so forth). I can not wait to get more from this series to see where Leigh's mind takes her with the possibilities here!

Adrift by L.Lennon is the first book in the Threes in the Keys Series.
Davenport and Oliver are married with a little boy. They lost their wife and are still grieving. To start over they're aboit to open a resort.
Emily is the paralegal for Jack who's at the resort with his partners Bodhi and Claire. And she has to travel for the job to this resort. She's kind of like a wallflower, has some seriouzs issues that rule her life.
Adrift is an emotional, heartwrenching read, well written with characters easily to connect with. The storyline has cross-overs to previous books, so I recommend to read in order.
I enjoyed Emily, Port and Oliver's story, 4,5 stars.

Adrift is the unique story of Davenport, Oliver and Emily.

Port and Ollie are facing life a year after the loss of their wife/partner, and the mother of their one year old son. They meet Emily who is dealing with her own burden of a debilitating anxiety disorder.
The connection between the three MC's is strong, but they take their time building a relationship as they each work through their issues.

Our author Leigh, has a true gift of taking difficult real-life subject matter and weaving into a story that is still entertaining and steamy. She does it in a way that will have you feeling the emotions right along with the MC's, and rooting for them and their eventual HEA.

This is the first in a new series. Davenport and Oliver have suffered an unimaginable loss which has left them broken and focused on raising their baby son a priority and putting their own needs and feeling on the back burner. Emily suffers from crippling anxiety, and Port and Ollie are so patient with her. Will Em be able to help heal the men for them to be able to move on with their lives? This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with grief, loss, anguish, healing, heartache, and love, which leads to an all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Adrift by Leigh Lennon is the first book in a new series! This mmf story was emotional and beautiful in the way Emily, Oliver, and Davenport came together. All three of these characters have their own obstacles to overcome and how they help each other through these obstacles is what makes this story another great read from this author. Watching Emily grow as a person was one of the great moments while reading this book. She did not give up her fight. I cannot wait to read more in this series.

It has been quite a while since a book consumed me like this one did. I didn't want to work or adult, I just wanted to read to find out how this story would end. Davenport, Oliver and Emily's story was so beautifully written and as usual with this author she does such a wonderful job of tackling a very difficult subject in a caring way. The only downside for me was near the end I felt like things became rushed. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

Great story

Leigh writes amazing books but I feel her 3 person romances are what she excels at!

This book-fantastic.

Davenport (awesome name) and Oliver live through something traumatic and they are just finding their footing again when in walks Emily. Emily is a beauty but with anxiety through the roof.

I loved that through this story we also see some of our favorites from books past-I’ll not spill the tea but it’s awesome.

I can’t wait to read more books in this new series.

The first in a new series of triad relationships with a sprinkle of old faces.

This story had me hooked from the first page and the relationship between these three was beautiful even if Oli had his moments. I absolutely love how Leigh Lennon builds her worlds and the characters within them, they are relatable and she doesn’t shy away from the more difficult topics even if they are something that she has had experience with herself. I cannot wait to see where this series goes and I cannot wait to see more of the cutie that is Jayden.

This was a good read. This story may not be everybody's cup of tea but I enjoyed it. Oliver and Davenport loss their wife through childbirth. It was devastatingly heartbreaking. To honor their late wife's dream they moved to Key West to open a resort that catered to polly/triad relationships. On a soft launch of the resort they met Emily who suffered from really bad anxiety. I love how they were always supportive and let the relationship go at her pace. Their love and support helped her better deal with her anxiety and day to day life.💖💖
