I was glued to this series when I was about 15-16. Must admit, I haven't read the latest 4 books, but I read the others. I was ecstatic when I got an email from the author back in 2007. I was ADDICTED to the series. Mum rushed out to buy me the series in store. I really REALLY enjoyed this series. I really liked the plot. Yes, they were aimed at kids and shouldn't have read kids books at 15, but I loved horses like CRAZY at that time and so I read it. To be honest, I enjoy kids books more than teenage books as teenage books are like 100% boys, relationships, sex and all that. I like the innocence of books for kids around 10-12, plus they have more exciting adventures I think!

This book annoyed me so much and the characters were all unlikable. I am honestly so, so tired of snotty, snobby ritch girls in all these horse books and films, why can't horse writers ever think up anyone new? Why does there always have to be a catty rival?
Ashleigh was unbelievable in the way she treated people-She sold her parent's stuff without asking them, she didn't ever stop to think that her best friend would be upset that she was moving, and all she ever talks about is getting her own horse while her best friend pretends to be interested. Then she doesn't apologise for being insensitive. When she is introduced at the new pony club she introduces herself as a champion (how full of yourself can you get) and then says she can't stand dressage after being introduced to someone who is doing dressage.
I mean, I totally get why she got bullied! She kind of started it. Then she is rude to the vet who is trying to help and then doesn't get help when the horse gets worse.

Okay I'm done ranting, not sure why this book annoyed me so much, but there it is.

Not a bad story. I was desperate for another horse book, similar to Canterwood Crest, and was pleasantly surprised when I picked up this series. While it is designed for a younger audience than Canterwood Crest, and the characters were a little 2D rather than well developed, it had a decent story line and was an easy read... especially since I read it sitting in an ER waiting room with tons of distractions. :) Looking forward to reading the rest of this series when I am able to find them.

I absolutely loved this book! If you have a love for horses, whether you’re a kid, teen, or an adult, this book is for you. It’s so good! There are a lot of plot twists and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. You can never get bored reading this book. I never wanted to put it down. I 100% recommended this book!

I found that this book is more for little kids after i spent 10 bucks on it! I'm not saying its a bad book, it has a okay storyline but is kinda cliche, but it is a easyread and more for people 10 and under :(
