Without Roar – you try pronouncing it, okay? -- I’d be dead in that pod. And when he purrs and does that thing with his... I think I’ll keep him.

Abducted by space lizards? Check.
Experimented on? Check.

Rescued by seven feet of hot, alien male? Check!

Roar’s a bit shy, furry with claws and a metal arm, and his best friend is a spaceship named Killer. That’s a little scary.

Almost as scary as the zombie.

And the giant, angry insects.

And the hungry shadow monsters.

Roar doesn’t want to dishonor me or something like that so we’re keeping things casual. (Sort of. Maybe. Definitely not.) And if I live through this without getting my brain eaten, we might have a chance at something more.

Stranger things have happened.

Roar! is a full-length (and I mean full-length) alien warrior romance with pulse-pounding action, a snarky AI, more aliens than you can shake a blaster at, and all the hotness.

If you like alien abduction romance with a twist, give Roar! a try. HEA guaranteed.

Greetings and salutations. I’m a lifelong sci-fi and fantasy fan. It’s generational, really, as my mom took me with her to sci-fi conventions when I was a kid. Some of my best memories are playing laser tag in the hotel hallways. Since writing my first (very) short story in grade school about three dragons fleeing by car from a nameless enemy, I’ve had characters and worlds clamoring for attention in my mind. Now I get to share them with readers like you, and I’m so excited!

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me playing with my cats, doing karaoke, and occasionally dressing up as Ziggy Stardust. If you want to get notified about future releases from me and get random snippets of what I’m working on (or sort of working on), check out my reader club on my website!

3.5 Roarin' Stars!!

The Marlock are up to it again and another human female, Amira, is abducted. From that point, obviously things don't go the way the Marlocks envisioned, they had their hands in other pots they shouldn't have and chickens come home to roost. Amira is rescued by a sexy, muscled, orange and black striped furry tiger man, whose name comes out unsurprisingly like a Roar.

Roar is so sweet as he takes care of Amira, cooking for her, purring and holding her when she gets scared, and trying to be an honorable male, showing his intentions by "dating" her. Amira is loving all the attention from Roar and she definitely wants to kick things up a notch, but there are multiple unseen and unknown entities circling the wagons just waiting to strike. Amira and Roar have a very uphill battle to fight if they want to be forever mates. Thank goodness they have an ally in Roar's crazy A.I. ship, Killer, who definitely has lots of interest in his own self preservation.

This was sweet and quirky with Amira, Roar, and Killer. I loved Killer's dialogues with the "meat heads". With everything that was going on, I do wish we got a little bit more one on one time with just Amira and Roar. There were some darker moments and this definitely had a darker feel, which I loved. As it was just these two out in space, alone, where things are going wrong, creating this spooky tension and sense of foreboding. You never know what's lurking in the shadows or even in your own mind.

Even though this was an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An interesting story, and Roar is such a lovable male character. I was really enjoying the tension building when the Banes attacked, then suddenly bang, nothing. I got lost in what had occurred, and the jump in time in the story. Took awhile to work out what had happened, so wasn’t really a fan of the way the story took that turn.

Sum up of the book :

Amira is her mother's rainbow baby. Wanting some independence she's decided to go on an adventure. Asleep in her tent she gets abducted. With an unknown crystal inside her, needing to find her way home Amira must trust her new friend Roar to get her home.

Review:

This was an entertaining and well-written story. This book 3 in The Warriors of Gr’mlakin Book Series was interesting with well-thought out scenes, characters and storyline. These characters have unique wills, personalities and believable interactions. This intriguing story has the following: twists, turns, adventure, action, humor, love, steam and a HEA. It is a well-paced and intriguing from start to finish. This is a full-length alien warrior romance with pulse-pounding action, an overdose of humor, crazy critters, and is an alien abduction romance with a twist

This series just keeps getting better and better. If you're looking for a book to keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further! Action, fated mates, and a happily ever after, it has everything you could want in a book. I don't think I laughed so hard. The humor is my kind of funny. I think I went through all the emotions available and that makes a great book in my opinion. So, please check this book out, you won't regret it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 **4.5 Stars — Sweet, spicy, and so much fun!**

I’ve loved Zeta Star’s other alien warrior books, and now I can happily add *Roar* to my “favorites” list too! ❤️ Her stories are always such a joy to read — full of humor, heart, and just the right amount of spice 🌶️ to keep things extra interesting.

Roar himself completely stole my heart. He’s strong and protective but also *so* sweet, especially with Amira. Their chemistry is undeniable — the kind that makes you grin like a goof while reading. I loved watching their connection grow and seeing how gentle he was with her amid all the adventure.

Zeta Star has such a fun writing style — you can always count on her books to make you laugh, swoon, and maybe fan yourself a little. *Roar* is another great addition to her alien romance universe, and I can’t wait to see what (or *who*) comes next!

I enjoyed it, but I wish the romance had been more of a slow burn and that they had actually spoken for more than a few minutes before engaging in a more physical thing, as both of them made it quite evident how they're culturally distinct species and many times didn't understand the other in many ways not only in a language barrier.

But, then, they'd engaged in a sexual moment, and that kind of sugar-coated everything, like their differences and misunderstanding and miscommunication, and all. Dealing with any issue that they needed to discuss in a more deep manner—not just to understand each other better, but also out of curiosity. Like, "What is romantic courtship like between your species? "or both being more curious about what each other was saying. Like Amira was so bothered by that sculpture in Roar's room, but never asked him anything! Therefore, he never said anything to her about it and the story just ended like that!

With many silly errors in communication and misinterpretations of the other's manners that could be easily averted if they just asked what they truly wanted for each other and, I don't know, made an active attempt to get across that cultural and language bridge...? I mean, not only in bed.

(Sincerely, I don't even understand how, the next second Amira is in his ship, after everything she's been through... and the next moment she's falling head over heels in infatuation with Roar...? Eager to have sex with him, despite the fact, she didn't even have time to clear her head and process everything she's been through or at least get some sleep...! A life form that she was unaware existed before that day, an alien that she knew nothing about in any way! But for God's knows why, she believes he is a good alien simply because he saved her... So why not have a brief affair with him since she was there and might die anyhow?
I mean, WTAFIHH???
But let's just set that aside and move on for the sake of the narrative, shall we? Just hoping nothing more problematic occurs along the way...)

The miscommunication trope was only resolved as neither of them wanted to dissolve up their physical relationship—possibly out of fear of upsetting the other or realising, to their surprise, that they didn't actually know each other that well outside the bed.

In one instance, Amira didn't even try to clarify to Roar what "Honor" meant on Earth and its distinct meaning and nuance depending on the situation, even when he was clearly still a bit confused by it.
But later on, though, she got upset when he repeated it to her because the two words have distinct significance for them at various moments in the narrative. But she doesn’t understand and probably thinks he doesn't understand the concept or probably the difference between 'Love' and 'Honor' and how she 'obviously' wanted more with him.

Though I thought the writing and the book were good, the insta-alien romance was lacking something.
I thought it could have been more, better, but it felt very rushed, and some parts when I thought it would grow into more, with more nuance in their love story... It was just brushed off again.

The storyline was intriguing, and I enjoyed how the mystery surrounding the story was built and developed, but I felt that upon reaching some scene's climax, some parts were simplified or rushed to the next scene without much detail or explanation, which is why, in my opinion, even though the plot and characters were very captivating, I couldn't avoid the feeling that some parts just seemed skipped or rushed when the scene reached its highest point.

I've been enjoying this SF Romance series from the beginning and I'm impressed with how it keeps getting better. The first two books of the series were absolutely crazy (in a good way) with nonstop action and peril for the hero and heroine, so I was expecting more of the same in this book. Instead, the book was more introspective and romantic. The plot was still fast paced, but since all of the action took place on Roar's ship, Roar and Amira had more time to spend together getting to know each other without all of the outside challenges of the previous books. From the moment Roar rescued Amira from the slavers who abducted her, they formed a strong connection and were able to trust each other and work together as a team to get out of danger.

Another hallmark of this series is that the heroine somehow ends up bonding with an alien species. In this book, unlike the other two, Amira bonds with the snarky, literal AI that runs Roar's ship, providing moments of humor that break up the action and keeping the book from getting too tense. Amira also doesn't take herself too seriously, and she's the sort to pick herself up, dust herself off, and keep moving forward, regardless of the setbacks she encounters. As for Roar, who wouldn't want a vaguely feline hero with soft fur and tiger stripes who purrs to calm his heroine down and just wants to cook and care for her in every way. He's pretty much my dream guy. My thanks to the author for providing a copy of the book for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Roar is a Gr'malkin who has isolated himself from his clan after a mission went wrong. Feeling like he has let down his clan, he now works as a dead ship scavenger flying around on a ship with a snarky AI. This last target is a big mystery. At first he thinks all the aliens are dead but when he visits med bay, he finds a female of an unknown species in stasis. Since her tank is about to run out of power and unknown ships are coming his way, he grabs the girl and runs. With some help from the AI, he is able to communicate with the girl and finds out she is Amira, a human girl from Earth. Roar really enjoys being with her but she doesn't seem interested in claiming him.

Amira was biking across the US with her cousin when she is abducted by aliens. She wakes up when Roar gets her out of stasis and she realizes she is surrounded by dead bodies. Everything around her is new and frightening but Roar is great at comforting her. She would love to stay with Roar but her mother must be frantic with her disappearance. Roar promises to take her home once they are no longer in danger but danger seems to be catching up with them.

This was a very enjoyable fast paced book the characters where amazing and killer the AI made this book so much more with its kick Butt attitude. Amira is abducted from earth by Marlock aliens but she is saved by a tiger looking alien man named Roar who suits his name but when she is introduced to killer the ships AI she not sure what to make of the two of them but she is thankful for all there help. Roar saves the human female Amira who he now believes is his forever mate but holds back his desires so as not to scare her anymore than she already is and by looking after her and cooking for her brings them closer together with a stronger connection but with unknown enemies and evil lurking in the shadows makes it hard to take there relationships further and in Amira’s eyes he is perfect and she see’s a future with him and she is not sure she wants to go back to earth anymore and with the help from the snarky AI killer who she also bonds with just makes her decision easier. This is a fantastic book and with Roar ,Amira, killer the AI just puts this book in the must read category and I know you won’t be disappointed.

I love this couple and they have so much to go through but I have to say above and beyond I love the AI on this ship. The snark, sarcasm and just the fact that he called himself Slayer or Killer in English. So funny! Amira is not doing well. She has been taken, put into a cryo type pod and had a crystal imbedded into her neck. She is pretty mucn minutes away from dying when Roar finds her. He is happy pootling around the known galaxy salvaging things with his Killer AI (get it??!!) and is unprepared for what happens from the point of meeting Amira onwards. She confuses and intrigues him along with bringing out feelings that he never thought would play a part in his life. Roar is an anchor that Amira can cling to and without being aware of it she does the same for him. The thing is when you go down the "we will just have fun and go with our attraction for each other without strings" route it usually means something totally different. There is so much action, angst and a slightly darker view to this one than the others in the series but I have to say that they all are great books.

I loved this book and the others in this series. I liked that this story started out with action right away and drew me in immediately. The plot had lots of interesting twists and turns throughout. Roar saves Amira's life and from the beginning they are both very attracted to each other but each has insecurities from their past which make them question whether this relationship can lead to anything serious. The attraction between them is electric. Roar is a protective hero and just the kind of knight in shining armor I love. There is an AI with a dry sense of humor to spice things up. Plenty of laughs. And in the end, we meet characters from a previous book. I highly recommend reading this book and the two previous books in the series. I will read anything this author writes and that is because not only are her stories interesting but they are very well written and the writing flows so smoothly.

If you want to be blown away with intergalactic kidnappings and lots of action and drama and implanting of crystal into the heroine of the book and this is the one for you. It was action from start to finish and there were a lot of steamy love scenes and Interaction with a sentient spaceship by the name of slayer who looked out for Roar his captain and approved of Amira being with the captain.
Amira was captured while she was out camping in the middle of nowhere by some alien lizards who used her to implant a crystal that they had stolen. Roar was running away from his past and found Amira on a spaceship that was destroyed in the spaceship graveyard and her body was in a medical capsule. The story unfolds with lots of action and lots of adventures for these two beings. There is a happily ever after and they do travel to earth at the end.

I have been really enjoying this series. And I like the characters in this story a lot. Roar is a bit more series and less easy going. But the way he and Killer/Slayer interact is great. I think a snarky AI is the perfect foil for a character with as many issues as Roar. It's great how the AI is even more leery of Amira than Roar is. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It was a great mix of funny with some heat and mystery.

If you have read Grr and Hss this one has a similar feel but Roar has been disconnected from his family/everything for quite a few years so he doesn't have any of the language or cultural background that Hss had. So it is more of a new beginning but with a snarky AI for extra fun.

Amira, the female human lead, has been kidnapped from Earth. Roar, the male alien lead, finds her in a stasis chamber as he raids a derelict ship. He rescues her and they find that her abductors placed a valuable crystal in her neck which is now fusing with her spine and brain. As they try to work out what is happening and what to do, their relationship develops.

The story is dual POV, well written, and the snarky AI on Roar’s ship is a gorgeous offset to some of the serious issues they’re dealing with. The story was a fun, fast-moving, adventurous read, and I appreciated how important family is to both characters.

Another great read in the Warriors of Gr'mlakin series.
Roar is a brilliant character, atoning in his head for hurt others felt outside of his control. He has exiled himself.
Amira is travelling, finally free of ties when she is captured and confined. When Roar finds her, Unsure of what she is, he protects and supports her, promising her, he will get her home. Though he knows not where this is. Amira is brave, finding strength and power in her situation. Adapting and finding her place in the world. Roar learns his place and finds peace.
Slayer steals the show.
A captivating story with great plot detail and engaging cast.
I highly recommend this book and series.

Oh my goodness this book was such an entertaining fun read? This is also the first book I'm reading from this author and I need to read more!! The heroine gets captured, but I liked how well the author was navigating towards her thinking and especially with Roar himself. I though Slayer was hilarious as well. The entire setup was super entertaining with also a good amount of suspense and sci-fi building of their tech as well. I'm only talking half a star off this though for the near end though since I did feel it tied up too fast though. However besides that I loved this whole ride with the characters? I really got invested with them and enjoyed really just getting into their mind sets!

Couldn't put it down

I'm sitting here writing this review at 3am. That should tell you all you need to know, but I'll go on.

Every book in this series so far has held me captive. I've spent hours devouring these characters, falling in love with their hilarious miscommunications, marveled at the way these worlds were built and the creatures that they encountered. I love the pets, and the love stories, but most of all I've loved that there is always something around the corner, little hints at what's lurking, teases that don't quite click until they do. And it's glorious.

Roar! along with it's series mates, was a special joy to read, and I can't wait to see what Zeta has in store for her next book. I can't imagine it will be anything short of spectacular.

Sometimes your mom is not wrong. Especially when she says that you might get kidnapped by aliens. Well, that is what happens in this story. Trying to prove her mom right in her self wrong so she can be a stronger person, getting abducted by aliens is not good. Not to mention you have half a galaxy after you. Hugh a lot of action. A lot of people, ah aliens who are after you. Jumping through a warm holes, and other things that your cat like alien dude that you’re talking to is continuously saving you. No cliffhanger. Just a lot of purring in this full length book. We definitely did not skimp on the pages.

Another Delightful Story in this Most Excellent Series!!

Amira is stolen by an alien while biking across the country. Roar comes upon an abandoned ship, yet finds a human female in a pod - with just minutes of life support left.

Thus begins this entertaining tale of a human, a feline alien, and a snarky AI ship presence.

Amira has an “addition” thanks to her original captors. Roar is working to get medical help to ascertain the impact. Of course space has many dangers.

This whole series is great fun to read. Original, fun, and sexy with just the right amount of issues to keep things interesting.

While I really love this series, and am looking forward to the next book, this was definitely not my favorite installment. There was just a lot of new things being thrown in with little explanation, even with the previous world building in the other two books. There were many times I was confused and was trying to go back and reread to understand. One example of this is in Roar's backstory it was never explain what a talon was (im guessing military unit?) or what really happned fully. Despite this the read was enjoyable and I look forward to reading the Holiday novella coming out soon as Grr's book is my favorite

I’m loving this series and all of these sexy aliens and Roar is no exception he’s a shy honourable alien and this is Amira’s and Roar’s story. Amira is abducted by lizard like aliens she was put into a pod and then she passed out. Roar was answering a distress signal when he finds a female in a pod he’s never seen a female like her before so Roar takes her to his ship and now their adventure and passion begins. I loved this story the characters, the descriptions and the storyline and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Amira is overprotected by her mother, so she is trying to do things to challenge herself, like a bike ride. Unfortunately she might not get to finish it, for she gets abducted by aliens, and she crosses paths with Roar and his quirky AI ship Slayer/Killer. I loved the adventures that Amira, Roar and Slayer get into, the funny conversations between Roar and Slayer, and the romance/steam between Amira and Roar.

I love that with this book, Zeta Star has expanded her universe a lot. It makes me so excited for future books! She has also explored some darker themes while still having lots of lighter moments, and a HEA of course. There were moments that reminded me of old school space horror, (perfect for the spooky season), interspersed with great banter with the ship AI and Star's signature funny internal monologues. There was a great cameo appearance at the end as well which I won't spoil. Can't wait for the Christmas special with Grr!

So that’ll teach you to listen to your mom. During a cross-country bike trip Amira, who has been warned about everything from serial killers to alien abduction by her overprotective mother, is abducted by aliens. She is then rescued by a huge furry alien named Roar and his sentient AI, Slayer, or Killer as Amira names it. The connection between Amira and Roar grows quickly and their interactions, especially with Killer’s attitude thrown in, are both sweet and humorous. These books just keep getting better and better. I couldn't put the book down. There is action, humor, twists and turns, fated mates, and romance. Amira is a no nonsense kind of girl, she just keeps moving forward. Roar is a sweet, kitty cat. He purrs, to calm Amira, he cooks, and cares for her in every way. There is plenty of fun and laughs when Amira bonds with the AI and they play off of each other. I always pick up a book that this author writes. Never been disappointed in her stories. Let’s see. We have an exiled alien, an abducted woman and an AI named Slayer (which translates to Killer). Roar is wandering aimlessly, salvaging while in exile from his clan, when he comes to Amira’s rescue but when they find themselves stuck in the graveyard of ships they find there is so much more to Roar’s history and Amira’s abduction. This is the third book but it does work as a standalone. Lots of action and an AI that almost steals the show. Story twists that I’m not sure were necessary but they kept the story moving.

I love the innovative writing of Zeta Star! Each book delivers action and romance with an exciting twist. Roar is the third installment to this series and I hope she never stops adding to it! The character of Roar is written beautifully…the damaged warrior struggling with his inner demons. Throw in Killer the AI and a strong woman, and you have the best book written in this genre to date. Download and enjoy❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
