But is she ready to trust another man with her heart? No matter the cost? To hell with the consequences?
WARNING This novella contains scenes of domestic and sexual abuse, strong language and explicit sex scenes that may be triggering to those who are uncomfortable with these topics.
I should like to start by thank Kristi Tailor and Denver Lopez for providing me with an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. I loved this, my first Kristi Tailor book I have read. The storyline, the characters, the places, everything about this book was perfect. I felt Logan's pain and I understand entirely why she would run and why she would think she shouldn't have a man in her life. Chance meetings that lead to love always make for good books and this was no different. From the beginning to the end of the book I was totally hooked. I wanted to cry at the end and then I realized it was part of a trilogy and there would be more of Logan and Jackson to come. If you find physical abuse difficult to read then this may not be the book for you. However, if you can tolerate reading about physical abuse it is not the main part of the book but very important to the story. I would totally recommend this book to those readers of romance, drama because there is some, an almost love at first site meeting and a building relationship where text and emails are very important then this if for you. I liked everything about it with one exception.....I finished it and I can't wait to read more!

“Why don’t you deserve to be happy?”
Logan has escaped the unthinkable. And she has built a whole new life for herself and her son, Carter. Jackson is a breath of fresh air. He almost seems too good to be true, and Logan finds herself falling hard for the nice guy. There is only one problem- Logan’s husband.
This is an emotionally raw story. There is so much vulnerability and fear woven throughout these pages. There is so much truth.
Logan is such a strong character. She wants to be safe, wants Carter to be safe and happy. And she is proud of herself for building the life they have. She has crawled through hell to get to where she is, and she is going to hold on with everything inside of her.
Jackson is the opposite of everything Logan knows. He’s kind, honest, caring, and wants to be a part of her and Carter’s life. Even though he doesn’t know Logan’s past, he knows he wants to be part of her future.
Kelly is the friend everyone deserves. She is supportive, kind, and full of life. She is the opposite of Logan in many ways, but together they have such beautiful chemistry.
This was a heartbreaking read but the brilliant start to a series. This book will grab you from the first page and hold you captive into the end. I cannot wait to dive into book two.
So, this was my first dive into a romance novel and I was thoroughly impressed. I was immediately captivated by the beginning of the story. Though there are some triggers within this story, I still found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next. The book is wonderfully written and captures a realistic look at a woman trying to survive and move on after trauma. The ending left me hanging but I can see myself coming back for book two.
One of the best books I've read this year and I've read plenty. The connection between the main characters is insane. This is one story I could not put down. The author has a way of making you blush and while there are parts that broke my heart, there were also parts that made me laugh. I highly recommend. Can't wait for the next book.
3.75 Liked it...didn't love it. I think some of Jackson's behavior was concerning, given Logan's background. That made it a little difficult for me to fully buy in to their relationship.
First, thank you to the author for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for my honest thoughts :) To my thoughts, it took me a about 30 pages to get fully invested, but once i was in, i couldn't stop reading. I read it all in one sitting and absolutely adored the writing the style. I also really loved Kelly, i feel like we all need a Kelly in our lives. The only thing is that the love interest's name is Jackson Sparrow, and all i could picture was johnny depp as a pirate, not that i mind. But also, THAT ENDING! I didn't realise how close i was to the end and i felt very sad and confused when i saw the 'thank you for reading'. I am in dire need for another instalment of this series!
I just want to start off by saying that this book has triggers! So please read trigger warnings before proceeding! Although I do not normally read books that contain domestic abuse (usually a trigger for me) this book intrigued me from the very beginning! I have to say all the scenes written are done very well and although graphic in some cases I did not find it off putting. I have been where Logan was, although I had no children then, and I truly understood how she felt and why she felt a relationship was not in her best interest. The author has done a wonderful job giving the characters depth and making them come to life through her writing! I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review of how I felt about the book in its entirety.
Thank you Kristi Tailor for allowing me to be part of the ARC for this story and the next.
I enjoyed this book, I liked the characters (esp Kelly!) and I liked how the relationship with Jackson plays out. The only thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger but I'm not a cliffhanger person LOL
The main character Logan is very likeable and realistic, Jackson is funny and such a gentleman. I love how he is with Carter.
Interested to see what happens in the next book!
TW: domestic violence, sexual abuse, explicit scenes, verbal abuse
I was provided an ARC to read and review by the Author. This book provided a glimpse into the life of a survivor of an abusive marriage. After almost being killed by her husband, Logan takes her son and gets on the first bus out of town. She has to start over completely while in constant fear of being found by her husband. Her son is starting to have some behavior issues, but she’s too afraid of what will be revealed if she gets him the help he needs. Meanwhile she meets this absolutely yummy teacher who wants to take care of her and her son, but how can they be happy when she’s still married and in constant fear of being found? Trigger- this book does depict at least one graphic scene of sexual abuse and references, mental, physical and sexual abuse.

First let me thank the author Kristi Tailor for allowing me the privilege of reading the ARC version of this book. It was truly an honor to do so.
This story sucks you in from the very beginning. There is triggering parts of the story involving different levels of abuse. Its not extremely graphic however there is a moderate level of description. There is workplace drama, love and friendship woven into this story. The story has a moderate pace and keeps you turning the pages to see how things unfold.
I would have liked the author to describe how Logan and her son got away. There was a time jump which didn't elaborate on this angle. I think it would've added a nice touch and let the readers know how they got to where they are.
I also think a little more background of where Logan came from would've been nice. There wasn't much about Logan's relationship before it went sour. There was no background information about the husband. I think this information would have drew me into the characters a bit more. There is a sequel so maybe some of this will be expanded upon. All in all, this was a good read and I can't wait to dive into what happens next.
I would firstly like to thank the author for letting me read this book for a true review. It's definitely a book that I would probably pick up and then put back down. Just because its not my usual genre. However, after about the 5th chapter I finally got into it and it didnt take long after that to finish. And the cliffhanger definitely made me want to read more. So im very happy to get the chance to read the sequel, also as a ARC reader.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait to start on the next in the series. Logan is sucks likable character. You can really put yourself in her shoes. She’s a single mom struggling with her past, but looking to make a bearable future for herself and her son when Jackson enters their lives. The playfulness and banter they have feels like a first love all over again. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for these 2 as the series continues!
Thank you Kristi Tailor for allowing me to be part of the ARC for this story and the next.
I thought this book was great. Logan’s story really sucks you in and I found myself rooting for her happiness from the very beginning. I also love that it isn’t just about her finding romance but also about escaping a domestic violence situation and doing better for her and her son. Because of the Domestic Violence it may be triggering to some.
The only negative thing I would say is that in some places there was too much detail. It felt like the same things were repeated over and over again and some details even contradicted previous details. I love good detail that will really place me in the story but it felt like too much at times.
Overall this was a great book that hooked me from the beginning and I can’t wait to start the second book.
Thank you Kristi for an ARC copy of this book. I loved how Kristi shows the backstory for Logan. She has the courage to write about domestic violence and the impact it has on woman; whom is also trying to protect her son at all costs. She finally has the courage to leave after one brutal attack that her son, Carter saw and was covered in her blood. She does everything to keep hers and Carter’s past in the past; including Jackson (a teacher from Carter’s school). I hope that Logan can find the courage to tell Jackson the truth.

Great book with a sad cliffhanger. Logan is a strong FMC who has overcome a very dire situation. With her son Carter, they find a way to start with a clean slate. Past trauma doesn’t always stay in the past though. When Logan meets Jackson, she has to decide if she can love and trust someone again. I can’t wait to see where Logan’s journey goes from here!
A big thanks to Kristi Tailor for giving me a chance to read this beautifully written book. I really loved Logan, she is strong and brave to start fresh after her escape form domestic violence. Her chemistry with Jackson is awesome. Can't wait for them to reunite in the next book. I hope Logan finds her happiness.
I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end. I loved the main character. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. Would definitely recommend this one :)
I downloaded this book last night and finished it this morning which is, I think a testament to how much I enjoyed reading it.
The story focuses on Logan, a recovering single mother and her son Carter, who have just escaped an abusive relationship with her former partner Christopher. The pair move to a different town, begin a new life and Logan meets the mysteriously ‘arrogant’ yet ridiculously sexy Jackson who is everything she’s ever wanted and appears to be everything she will ever need to help her recover from her past traumas.
The book itself is a quick and easy read and it’s characters are well written. Logan is personable and relatable, her best friend Kelly is an absolute scream and Jackson, well…isn’t he the dream we’d just all love to meet? I bought into their relationship and both loved and hated that it took them almost the entire book to achieve that much yearned for first kiss.
The story ends on a cliffhanger which felt a little rushed in my opinion (maybe I was just enjoying the built up sexual tension and the intensity) but it definitely left me wanting more. I am now looking forward to reading the sequel. My one criticism I would have of this book was the authors use of the word ‘pregnant’ in describing prolonged periods of time e.g ‘a pregnant pause…’ ‘a pregnant moment…’ It sounds nit picky and it’s not necessarily a massive issue but worth mentioning that I noticed it being used a lot.
That being said, I devoured this book. I am usually a crime fiction addict meaning stories like this really aren’t my bag but I thought it was great It’s a four star recommendation from me.

🚨TW: domestic violence, sexual abuse, explicit scenes, verbal abuse . Being Yours by Kristi Tailor. Logan Reed was forced to break free from her invisible shackles of domestic violence when one day her husband, Christopher had almost killed her. She fled the city for her life and her son's safety. With the initial trauma being soothed by time and a kind neighbour's help, the mother-son duo trugded onto their paths in survival mode. Initially everything seemed to have fallen back on track with some minor trifles now and then. Things even looked rosy when she met the hot teacher at her son's school and he gave her undivided attention. But past sticks to our being and comes back to haunt our present. This breezy romance was full of sparks of a blooming love yet ends with a dismal cliffhanger. But no worries y'all, we've two more installments to come by, of this very series. I must mention that even though this was an ARC, this little lovely thing had a surprisingly less number of spelling and grammatical errors. Not that it should matter in the unedited versions, but somehow it degrades the quality of experience for me. Another plus was its lucid language, which will help the piece to keep the readers hooked. I would recommend this to everyone who wants to read a quick and light romance and wouldn't mind the above mentioned trigger factors. This might even capture the interest of beginners either as readers of romance or as readers as a whole. Thanks to the author and the publisher for honouring us with the ARC.
First of all: if you have triggers regarding domestic abuse and violence, this book is not for you. Don’t get me wrong, because Tailor wrote a beautiful piece here. It’s so detailled I can imagine it being a bit too much for some people, and that’s the only reason this isn’t a five star review because I really loved the story. Even for me, I sometimes wanted to start crying because for so many women, it’s just their daily reality.
The storyline is a bit jumpy in the beginning, but it’s not bothersome. The story jumps forward in time at some point and it leaves room for speculation. It gives a good impression on how the main character’s life was. Her behavior throughout the story is typical for people who have experienced abuse in their life, and Tailor really put an effort in her choice of words. Of course it’s a little bit predictable, but that didn’t bother me at all. Tailor builds up the tension, the excitement and emotions, and succeeds in keeping your attention. I guess we all love a good love story, and I’m so eager to read the next book!!
I really enjoyed reading this. I loved the fact that the main character is so likeable. She’s so easy to relate to. The book is well written and the author really pulls you in. I completed this book in a day.
The story is about Logan who ran away with her son to escape an abusive relationship. A ‘sexy’ teacher becomes interested in Logan but she is unsure if she deserves a future. There are scenes of domestic violence which are written really well but they can be triggering for some. I think the story is quite realistic and shows the struggles that someone who has escaped domestic violence may face.
I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2. I’m guessing that her abusive ex Christopher is going to make an appearance. Can’t wait to learn more about the characters especially Jackson. Jackson is the perfect person for Logan and she definitely deserves a happy ending.
I would highly recommend this book to those who love romance.

Being Yours is so much more than a love story. It explores bravery, friendships, love interests, and the fine line between truth and lies. I truly enjoyed both the writing style and storyline. Kristi Tailor does an amazing job at keeping the story flowing and interesting. Her characters are relatable and her sense of description allow you to really “see” the book unfold. Without spoilers, I found myself rooting for Logan, loving Kelly, and swooning over Jackson. Reader, please be warned, there are instances of domestic violence within. If you are looking for a book that takes you through a range of emotions and ends with you wanting more-this book is for you! I cannot wait to continue aside Logan to see what transpires!
Thank you to Kristi Tailor for the opportunity to read Being Yours in exchange for an honest review.
Logan is running from a past that she can’t escape because she chooses to ignore it. Carter, her younger son, can’t ignore the past and it really is affecting him. Logan has to decide for the sake of her and Carter’s sanity and happiness how to stop surviving and start living.
I really enjoyed this story, it pulled me in from the very beginning. Logan’s story is so incredibly sad and at times horrific, but she’s a survivor. This is a quick read but I appreciate the time the author took to develop characters and plot. I would consider the ending a cliffhanger because there are a lot of unanswered questions, but the ending isn’t abrupt. This is book 1 of a trilogy and I look forward to catching up with these characters. (TW: Domestic and Sexual Violence)
Author Kristi Tailor is a phenomenal writer and will take her readers on a swift ride with no time to fasten seatbelts into the home of Christopher & Logan Reeds beautiful safe haven, but zoom in real close cause you just might need to look through the lenses of Logan's heart, after the birth of their son Cater everything went TaleSpin.
Logan finds herself hating the very place she and her husband Christopher calls home, abused, scared, and stripped of the woman she once was, her pain is only left as a sounding board.
Logan must fight to keep her secret pain from her son Carter who loves both parents why not play out her fairytale even if it's a beautiful lie. This is a must-read you will cry, laugh scream, and even want to kill.
Logan and her son Carter escape a horrific home and flee to a new place to start new. In her new found home she makes a wonderful friend named Kelly and although Kelly knows that Logan has her guard up she instantly because best friends and helps Logan get a job at her company. Logan meets Jackson once she called to school with an incident with her son. Jackson is a breathe of fresh air for Logan and noticeably attractive. Jackson slowly makes his way into Logan’s very guarded heart and this story has an ending that leaves you wanting more…luckily for you there’s a book two You will have soooo many emotions while reading that you should allow time to recoup once you are finished
I would like to thank the author Kristi Taylor for offering me this title in exchange for my honest review.
It took me a few pages to really get into this book, but once I did, I couldn't put it down! Logan is such a likeable and realistic character. Most have take away's from the abuse, but the parts that touched me the most was the relationship between Logan and her son. I have a son the same age and the conversations between them really resonated with me. Some even brought me to tears. The relationship between Logan and Jackson was really fun. The banter between them was very well written. The ending...well, I wont spoil it, but I need to start the next book soon! Overall, this was a great read and I cant wait to start the 2nd book in this series!
This story touched me in many ways. I have personally known someone who was in a similar situation to Logan’s, so reading this story made me think of her. Logan’s courage and bravery to stay in her circumstances for her her son spoke of her strength. Her courage to change her situation was even more harrowing. I love her friendship with Kelly, even though the two don’t always see eye to eye. And then there’s Jackson, the hunk of our story who is exactly what Logan needs, and clearly wants. I can’t wait to dive into the second book after that ending! I hope everything works out for Logan, and for her son Carter. Sometimes it’s better to leave a bad situation, no matter how hard it might be, and this story was the perfect example of that.
