**I’ll try to be vague, but this will have some plot outline/relationship dynamic spoilers**
2.5 UGLY LOVE Stars
This one is hard to rate. I was RIVETED the first 60% or so in a can’t look away from the toxicity of the terrible characters sort of way, but then things started feeling sloppy (jarring transitions, skipping milestones, etc.), and the author mostly lost me at 75% with a HUGE 18-year time jump followed by a massive info dump. This reminded me of Undeniable with the much older married H, loads of cheating, and decades of wasted time except Alexa isn't really tough.
Tempting the Biker follows the unhealthy relationship of James/Murder and Alexa…and it is MESSY. In a nutshell, James has been unhappily married to Ruthie since they were 15/16ish because she got pregnant with their daughter, Rochelle. Alexa is Rochelle’s BFF and has the hots for James. Shit happens, and the two start a relationship when she’s 17. (my best guess is that he was 30/31ish because his daughter is 15)
I picked this up as a standalone and initially didn’t understand things like why the H hated his wife so much, or why we were jumping over important parts, but after researching a bit I discovered that this book overlaps with Lady & The Biker (the previous book) which is their daughter’s book. I’m not sure if it was planned this way, (I would think chronologically would be easier to follow), but this book’s Part 1 takes place 19-ish years in the past before book two… and Part 2 (the last 25%) takes place after it. Basically, book two makes up the 18-year time jump.
So, I think things would’ve been less confusing, and I might not have been as torn with Alexa chasing after James so hard when Ruthie was shown to be mostly good to her (because she ends up being an evil bitch) But… I’m kind of glad I skipped it because it sounds like Alexa was a terrible mother, and I can typically overlook shitty partners, but shitty parents are harder for me to get past... and the whole Woody Allen theme doesn't do it for me, so I'm leaving that puppy untouched.
Bottom Line- This was hard at times to get through, but I was sucked in. I believed they loved each other… ugly as it was… but it’s tough to swallow. My problems (morale choices aside) were that the blackmailing plot device felt flimsy and not really thought out because I could easily pick holes in it… and we skipped over the majority of their relationship with the massive time jump/info dump and are given few details. I also felt we deserved more resolution after wading through almost 400 pages of their relationship shit show, but it ends abruptly because I guess there’s a novella with their HEA.
Triggers- h is raped partly on-page but she passes out so it fades to black.

I'm closed to DNF'ing this. Alexa, Murder and Ruthie are all stupid and watered-down characters.
I don't mind cheating but for this book, it was erroneously executed.
I just wished the storyline didn't go haywire.

Mind you 3/4 of this book deal with the Past and the remainder is in the Present and I disliked it, the timeline didn't just worked for me, it focuses more on the past so then when we're actually in the Present it feels scurried and undeserving. Least character development. I supposedly should foresee the angst between our main characters however annoyance and stupidity overbalance it.
I just wished the storyline didn't go haywire.

Well wow. What a read. If you haven’t read Lady And The Biker I would suggest reading that before you hop in to this. It will give you more of the story.
Few authors can take a cheating H and make him acceptable. Glenna Maynard can. The h/OW the reader will feel compassion for. Not only treated poorly by her family, the MC and her daughter but the H himself. I knew there would be an HEA with the H and h but in the back of my mind I’m wishing she found happiness with someone else.
Once I started I didn’t put it down until I was done. Looking forward to the next installment of Royal Bastards MC.

So Wrong but Oh, So Good!!!
James/Murder is now the Prez for his MC after putting the current Prez on trial in which his was found guilty. Oh, yeah he happened to be Murder's father in law as well. He has been in a loveless marriage since he was15 and now his daughter is the only reason that he is still with Ruthie.
Here comes the "wrong" about this book...Murder has an attraction to his daughter's best friend Alexa and she has just as strong feelings for him.
Even with this revelation this book caught me at the very beginning and had a grip on me the whole at through. The chemistry, betrayals, and heartbreak was in another realm. There are so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat even at 2a.m. I cannot wait to see what comes next!!

This is one ugly, dirty, raw, and AMAZING book!!
Murder knocked up his girlfriend at 15 and a shotgun wedding ensued. He and Ruthie are not right for each other but her father is the club Prez and Ruthie is also blackmailing him. He loves his 15 year old daughter and his club so he just sticks it out. He’s always been faithful to Ruthie despite what she thinks. Until Alexa. Oh young Alexa. Her family life is not good, her parents treat her like a doll to set out and impress their friends. At almost 18 years old no one has ever really loved her.
Murder is such an ahole!! But dang if I didn’t love him! And Alexa, so many times I wanted to set that girl down and giver her a good talking too. Let’s be real, no one condones cheating. These characters never intended to fall in love but fate kept bringing them together. My heart broke so many times. I could feel the heartbreak and anguish they went through. It was so raw and emotional and real. This is one of those books that you immediately want to read again as soon as you finish it. In my opinion this is Glenna Maynards best book to date, and she has some pretty great ones already.

I wanted to hate this book. I wanted to not care about Alexa and Murder. At the end of Lady and the Biker, I didn't care AT ALL. Now, I want to punch Glenna in the tits because I fucking care.
Tempting the Biker isn't an easy, feel good romance. It's ugly, dark, and full of pain. Alexa and James' HEA is hard won, full of bumpy roads, and hurtful words, but they make it. Finally, they make it.
This book has many triggers so if you don't like dark romance, I recommend skipping it. I also recommend reading Lady and the Biker first.

If you have not already read the first two books don't read this review because it will spoil the first two books.
A great addition to the Royal Bastards MC. The first two thirds of the book was how things came to be for Alexa and Murder. In the first book he is club president but he wasn't always and this explains who was before and tells the story of his marriage, how his daughter died and how and why Alexa and Murder first became involved and why they couldn't be together. In the first book I couldn't stand Alexa but I like her now.
The second part is after Wylla Mae is married. This tells more about why Alexa was shot and who was behind it. Alexa has given up on being with Murder and given up on love but with what Murders wife has on him can he truly give up on her?
I'm hoping this author will have more books in this part of the series.

Wow! This book was a lot.... so much raw emotion on every page. Murder knocks up Ruthie at a very young age and is really forced to be with her. She is really a terrible person who makes Murder’s life hell. He sticks it out because her dad is the MC prez and he loves their daughter. Then in walks Alexa, his daughters friend who tempts him like no other has. What comes next is so real and emotional. I do not like cheating in a book, however how this is done and the circumstances make it necessary. This was very well written and a very good read! I highly recommend it!

Glenna you did the impossible you made me like both Murder and Alexa and after Lady and the Biker (which must be read first) I wasn't sure I would. This is not some fluffy feel good romance infact it takes angst to the next level. This is a story of pain of dark times where you hurt the one you love with your words and actions. We get some answers left over from book one. I found myself angry at both of them at times and wanted to give them a slap. There are some dark themes in the story which I love in my MC books. The question is how long would you wait for the man you love.

Raw, dirty, angry, blackmail, romance, action, violence, hot men, strong women... this story has a lot going one and it will keep you interested and turning the pages. I love Murder (he is an alphahole and I cannot help but love him), but he has every reason to be the way he is. I really like the raw gritty feel to this story and I don't think I have ever read a story line quite like this. That was refreshing. This author knows how to make me addicted to her alpha men and want to be one of her heroines. This is a great story. 4 stars.

wow what a read . Murder was the loyal husband. Alexa was his daughters friend. This book has it all drama romance suspence sorrow eveything . I could not put it down .They engage in a weird relationship but then tradgey strikes and all goes to hell.What will happen?Can they be together? Brilliant addition to rbmc look forward to more .

I have a love/hate relationship with Murder. Well, as much as any reader could. He is very blunt but loyal to his people. Alexa is very stubborn but I’m loved the fact that she never gave up. I wanted to kill Ruthie. The storyline is awesome. You’ll feel a wide range of emotion reading this.

This book! I don’t have any words good enough to describe how amazing this book was!
I loved “ Lady and the Biker” but I was waiting for Murder and Alexa’s story! Driving Poor Glenna insane with all my anxious anticipation!
Finished it yesterday as I was blessed with a arc. I don’t usually do Ebooks but for Glenn’s and for this series it wasn’t a choice I just had too read it! I have not read a book by Glenna that I didn’t love. “ Tempting the Biker is my top favourite. Who am I kidding they are all my favourites lol.
This book was so much more than I thought it would be and it made me happy, angry, and made me cry through most of it! It really did hurt so good! I’m so thankful to have had the chance to get know Glenna and her characters! If you have not pre-ordered you need to do so lol.

Words fail me, this is absolutely wonderful, the emotions it pulled was phenomenal, sorrow for the times lost, anger at Ruthie and Alexa's parents, heartbreak and joy. I know you shouldn't love a cheater but Murder was different as you find out, his hands are sort of tied, when I first read Alexa in the Lady and the Biker, I didn't care for her all that much, this is such an eye opener, the things she went through and had to put up with ..... needless to say this is a page turning, unputdownable story and I can't wait for Keeping the Biker, which is next.

Omg!! This book is absolutely phenomenal!! It has all the angst I love in a great book! Murder is OMG, the most amazing character that I have read in a long time. You have to read this book! Hell this series!!

A wild and crazy ride to go on with Murder and Alexa. I felt like I was taken on an emotional roller coaster ride; I laughed, swooned, was upset, frustrated, I cried a little but over all, I was intrigued. This was definitely a raw and gritty story but I loved every single second of it. Glenna never ceases to amaze me. Great story!

I don't know how to begin this review but to say that Tempting the Biker by Glenna Maynard was heart breaking, thrilling, full of angst, violence, betrayals but most of all an all consuming forbidden love that span over the course of 18 years as you witness the love between Murder Pres. of the Royal Bastards MC and Alexa. Murder has been married to a heartless woman when she got pregnant at 15 and has lived a life of hell as she can only keep him through blackmail. The only joy in his life is his daughter Rochelle. Alexa is a young woman who is attracted to Murder regardless of the age difference but has a unhealthy relationship with her parents who have no love for her at all. The more time she spends with Murder's daughter Rochelle she is instantly attracted to Murder and will do everything she can to be with him. When an incident happens at his home leaving Alexa broken and raped, this will be the beginning of the forbidden love between them as they try and cover their affair and once he finds out who raped her, Murder's place in the club will change forever. Murder knows it is wrong to have these overwhelming feelings for her, but he can't stop wanting or needing her despite the age difference or that she is best friends with his daughter. But his wife Ruthie may have other plans for both of them that neither one is aware of.
Now they will be faced with many obstacles of deceit, betrayals but most of all the loss of a loved one when the truth comes out, one that will leave Alexa with a life changing situation and maybe losing Murder forever. These two will never get the timing right to be together as their are so many people plotting against them. Their relationship will span years as these two are kept apart by revenge and blackmail each left broken. This is a love story for the ages, as these two characters will fight with everything they have to be together or is it too late? Now Murder will finally get his revenge on his betrayers as well as the hate he feels for his ex-wife who was the mastermind behind everything especially when Alexa and his granddaughter is harmed. I don't know how Glenna Maynard does it, she is an outstanding author who pulls her readers in with each one of her books as we become one with her characters as we are taken on a ride or die journey. The MC genre is her forte!
Now they will be faced with many obstacles of deceit, betrayals but most of all the loss of a loved one when the truth comes out, one that will leave Alexa with a life changing situation and maybe losing Murder forever. These two will never get the timing right to be together as their are so many people plotting against them. Their relationship will span years as these two are kept apart by revenge and blackmail each left broken. This is a love story for the ages, as these two characters will fight with everything they have to be together or is it too late? Now Murder will finally get his revenge on his betrayers as well as the hate he feels for his ex-wife who was the mastermind behind everything especially when Alexa and his granddaughter is harmed. I say this alot, I know, but this book is hands down one of my top reads of 2020...and for so many reasons. Tempting the Biker is the author's very highly anticipated 3rd book in the RBMC: Charleston series and while the story is told entirely in this book, the characters are first introduced in Book 2, Lady & the Biker. As this book is both a prequel and a sequel to Book 2, it is highly recommended that you do not read this before reading Lady & the Biker.
Murder is a member of the RBMC and is in an insufferable marriage, but he stays loyal to his wife (something his brothers often give him grief over) for the sake of their daughter. Alexa is his daughter's best friend who finds solace with Murder and his family while feeling unloved by literally everyone in her life, especially after she falls victim to a horrifying attack. Time passes...things happen...he was only trying to protect her. Then they're both dealt a devastating blow and the dynamic of their relationship becomes unbearable for the both of them...to the point where their lives are changed for many years to come.
Listen, some readers are going to HATE these characters. They did not come out of Book 2 with great reputations. But you MUST give this story the chance to play itself out and bury itself in your gut. There comes a point in almost every angsty book I read where the emotion I feel becomes painful. Well, let me tell you, I found myself constantly rubbing my chest to keep that pain at bay. This story is tragically beautiful. These characters are despicably but fantastically real. 5 stars will never be enough for how highly I rate this book. And if the author wasn't already one of the high queens of dark MC romantic suspense, I'd be first in line to give her the crown after this!

Okay this is a time consuming type of love y'all, They're not supposed to be together at all but they found a way to make it happen. Y'all gonna hate these two, but than they make you look at them from a different light, you've tried to not like them so much but in the end you're rooting for them, you're hurting for them, you're screaming, you're mad at the injustice. My heart was hurting for them, I felt their pain, their sadness. There's a lot of twist and turns in this book, things happening that you didn't want to happen but did anyway. You can feel their love for each other in each pages of this book, they say love is not easy and it's true for these two, nothing have been easy for them. Their love is the type that goes through the same cycle for every century, every time they're reborn, they're right back to each other. Author Glenna Maynard, you're amazing, you've outdone yourself, you went above and beyond for these two. This is a phenomenal book, it's emotionally gut wrenching but what more can you ask for when these two made an appearance? Although this is fiction but I walked away from it with a happy smile on my face. Anything from this author I recommend, but just make sure you're ready to take that rollercoaster ride when you're reading anything by author Glenna Maynard. For a better reading experience, you have to read The Biker's Kiss, Lady And The Biker, to this one, and again Thank You Author Glenna Maynard, you blew me away with this one.

HOLY COW What a ride. Ms. Maynard has my emotions all over the place with “Tempting the Biker”. I felt happy and sad. I had times I wanted to just hug the main characters and hope things would be ok and other times I wanted to hop their heads and tell them to cut the crap and get their stuff together.
The book is very well written with lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen…. well it didn’t. All I could do is keep myself glued to the pages and pray James (Aka Murder) and Alexa (Aka Lex/Pretty Girl) found any kind of happiness be it together or apart. They both go through hell and deserve so much more than the hands they were dealt. But life does always work as we wish and is rarely all sunshine and roses.
I highly recommend grabbing up Tempting the Biker and hanging on for one very bumpy but exciting ride. The book can easily be read as a stand-alone but I suggest starting with book 1 for a better experience.

Sweet Baby Jesus, my heart!! This book had totally broken me, by 24% I was in tears and it didn't get any easier. At 75% I was pouring the whiskey!!
If you have read Kissing The Biker you will have had a taste of Alexa and Murder, but this starts right at the beginning. This has taken my feelings through the emotional wringer, to the point where I had to put my kindle down and take a breath. And a dram of Fireball!!
Absolutely loved this book and I can't wait for more from this Chapter and this author!
