This really didn’t go anywhere till the last 20%. Most of it was the H and the h having lots of sex all the time. Then it picked up and advanced the plot. Kinda a waste of time. Need to read the next though

Pain and Pleasure is the second book in the Owned by The Don series. We get to go back to Dante and Emmie's story. Again Emmie is a beautiful female character that keeps things going and alive. She is so stubborn sometimes that Dante seems tame.
Dante is finally falling in love with his wife, but that could make him weak in the eyes of others and he can not have that. So what is he to do. Start fights and act like an idiot when she needs him the most.
Again I highly enjoyed this story by Callie.

This book had constant storyline of Emmie and Dante having sex. Every other page they were having sex. Emmie did not want to be talk to like a naive child but her actions were like a naive child. Emmie's character is very exhausting.
Dante is suppose to be this ruthless Mafia man but he is very weak when it comes to Emmie and everyone can see.
There is no kinda depth or growth from neither characters

Loved, loved, loved this book! This is the second in a trio of books. And this story gets better and better each book. The characters are so real and the sparks that fly between them are hot! Phenomenal story and will leave you on the edge of your seat. You will not regret reading this series. Can't wait for the third book.

Lees "retelling La Bella y la Bestia" con temática mafiosa, romance adulto y escenas spicy y piensas: De cabeza me tiro... y bueno acabas tirándote a una piscina vacía.
No os miento cuando os digo que ha sido una decepción total no, lo siguiente. Es cierto que he encontrado todo lo que prometía, no puedo negarlo, pero ha sido todo un sin sentido, lleno de conversaciones tontas que no llevaban a ningún lado y con un enamoramiento que no tenía ningún tipo de base.
Es por esto por lo que he leído los tres libros corriendo porque me da mucha rabia no terminar una historia solo porque el primer libro no me haya convencido y bueno... pues, al final, no me ha convencido ninguno.
Sí puedo decir, sin entrar en ningún spoiler, que el libro más flojo y sin sentido es el primero porque no llegas a comprender el comportamiento de los protagonistas y de dónde procede ese deseo. En el segundo te llegas a medio creer un poco la relación que tienen porque los dos no pueden parecerse más en el fondo y, por esto mismo, se hace un poquitín menos pesado.
En el tercer libro sí tengo que reconocer que me ha sorprendido el compartimiento de los protagonistas porque es como si le hubiesen dado la vuelta como a un calcetín. Su relación me ha parecido un poco más sana, aunque no mucho y, también, más aceptable. Eso sí, la trama en general es la más aburrida y lineal de toda la trilogía.
En general, es una trilogía que te da lo que te promete pero que, por desgracia, no está a la altura de las expectativas que tiene.

Este segundo libro me ha gustado mucho más que el primero por ese motivo le pongo 3,5 estrellas (aunque solo puedo ponerle 3 aquí). Todos los temas que se tratan como Dante va evolucionando con Emmie como pareja y lo mejor es todos los momentos de tensión que hay en el libro y como la autora sabe dejarte con ganas de más (sobre todo con ese final)😍.
Vemos un Dante que le cuesta menos expresar lo que siente por Emmie en presencia de otras personas y también se ve como él intenta darle más libertad aunque tenga que estar protegiéndola de su padre todo el tiempo.
Emmie en este libro vemos que no quiere que Dante la vemos más como una niña pequeña que tiene que tener metida en un castillo de cristal para que nadie la toque (menos su padre), vemos los cambio que va haciendo el Dante y como ella aunque nunca quiso estar en ese mundo, tendrá que verse en situaciones de vida o muerte y saber cuando tiene que disparar o no.

Overall, a climatic end but for whom? Dante and Emmie’s relationship has been quite a whirlwind. There is so much love but also dominance. Emmie, having to grow up in a tough world only seeks equality. Her life is in the balance due to her father. There was bickering, taunting, death and a lot of Love. Love for her mother and yes, Dante. Meeting the family an being accepted will be something new for her. In regards to the steamy sessions, Dante won’t let you down. Their relationship always them steaming the sheets.
There is no chapter throughout where their sexual escapades aren’t present. Hot steamy and still a great storyline.

Its a bit repeating in words that she thinks and says to him. and its enough that you sit back and go 'okay its stated this already' there's some freshness in bits and chapters here and there. And the character development is getting higher thankfully. The FMC is 21 and the MC is 39 - there's a lot of drama that goes on in this book compared to the last one.
I still rate this 5/5 stars because its a good read for the mafia twinge im on. and honestly some parts had me inching for more and more. I defo will be reading the third installment of this DON series.

May have spoilers!!!
The only reason I fell down this rabbit hole was 1) the narrator is awesome and 2) the cliffhanger at the end of book one. At this point there is no real progress in the book other than they both admitting they love each other, but as far as the father goes, no progress. Oh, wait! We do learn he wants to kill her, but if you have been paying attention, you would have pretty much figured that out by now. And how have they not realized by now they have a snitch amid their nest??? I am over it. Count me out for book 3. I don't even want to know what happens with Papa.

Dante and Emmie admitted to love it one another , which both were scared to do. Emmie and Dante have been fighting her father who want to kill and hurt Emmie and her mother along with Dante. Two Drugs Lord's with power. And Emmie caught up in the middle. The ending is a cliffhanger with family members dying. And the realization that life is deals with changes. Will there love be strong enough to stay together.

Im speechless
Ok i thought book 1 was unbelievable how she was able to crank it up another notch is beyond me. I can say in the last 2 days I’ve gotten about 8 hours sleep combined as i binged book 1 one night and book two last night. I am grateful i have nothing planned tomorrow because i see another sleepless night ahead. I won’t be able to rest i know how this adventure ends.

What a rollercoaster ride
This is by far better than the first one. I love the first one but it kept going from past tense to present tense and I hated it. This one didn’t have as many grammatical errors in it and the plot was amazing. Definitely didn’t see the ending coming and I’m looking forward to the 3rd one.

En este segundo libro ya no nos vale ni la sinopsis porque ella no es ninguna prisionera, se ha enamorado de él y narra el final de la trama del primer libro.
Pero se han añadido algunos personajes y la historia da un giro que se desarrollará en el tercer libro. Lo voy a leer porque no me voy a quedar a medias.
No es una gran serie, creo que está sobrepuntuada...

same issue as book 1
I’m having the same issue with this as book one. I don’t particularly enjoy it yet I continue to read. Which to me says something, I’m just nit sure what. It drags, nothing really grabs hold while reading so I’m stumped.

Well the action in this one picked up and Emmie’s improved in her strength of character. I do like Dante and i wonder if more to Sergio. It’s all about trust right….. Gabriella hmmmn… well I’m excited for book 3

Lo sentí un poquito flojo en algunos capítulos, pero aun con eso me mantuvo entretenida. Espero que en el tercer libro me pueda sorprender.
