Haley: I love plans - plans are great. Plans help you accomplish tasks in a nice and timely manner. Checklists make sure you stay in line and help you figure out what you want in life - including partners, and after having an open relationship, he finally wants to put a ring on it. I’m excited. I am. I just can’t get a certain catcher out of my head. My friend, the one man who doesn’t fit in my perfectly calculated plan. He is in the spotlight. I’m not meant for the spotlight. I like calm, calculating, no spotlights. So I’m marrying the man who checks the boxes. Well most of the boxes were getting checked. But what happens when my “friend” shows up and steals me away from my own wedding? What happens when he stirs up emotions I didn’t even know I had? Could my life plan be wrong?

Parker: Since the first night I met Haley she tilted my world on its axis. No woman has ever seen me and not thought meal ticket. She’s sweet, gracious, and so gorgeous. When I hear she is marrying the wrong man. And by wrong, I mean not me. I have to do something. So, with a little help from a tiny romantic, her husband (who is my best friend) and a horny teenager, okay Booth (who is also one of my boys), we steal the bride. I do it for her own good. To show her she deserves so much more. I just need one week. One week to show her I am a viable option. One week to change her mind.

Parker, a laid back Professional baseball player, sets his eyes on Haley. Haley, a very type A individual who lives her life by lists and settling for safe and what checks her boxes, enters a very “casual” relationship, due to Haley being in an “open relationship”. This open relationship is because Doug, current/ex(not sure what title to give this douche canoe, wants to make sure they are it for each other. Haley makes this aware to Parker and Parker is shocked by the fact that anyone would treat her like this and be okay with an open relationship. The two decide on casual and link up together for months. When schedules allow and when in the same cities throughout the US they have dinners, hang, partake in "extra activities" and the chemistry is there between the two of them but....it's "casual" and Haley does not think she can handle the limelight. Then the time comes and Doug pulls the trigger and decides they are a good fit for each other, proposes to get married.

The news doesn’t settle well with Parker and he realizes he took what they had for granted. So, him and his MLB friends, along with Willa (from Angels Book 1), come up with a plan to “bride-nap” Haley so Parker can spend the week with her so she can see what they have and to not go through and marry douchey Doug. Throughout the first couple days of the road trip, Parker is respectful and doesn’t make any passes or advances at her as he believes she is still in a relationship with Doug. Finally, when Haley does let Parker know, it's game over! ;)

I enjoyed this book so much! I loved how we got the interaction of the other characters from the first book! Their texts and dialog made me laugh constantly!! There were times when I wanted to shake Haley with her lists but I think she just needs to be more confident in herself and realize you cannot control life!

I am lucky enough to be on Becca Jone’s review crew so I got an advanced copy to read and OMG 😳 I can’t even explain how obsessed I am with this book.. Haley is such a relatable character.. and Parker.. I’m not typically a fan of beards.. but I sure wouldn’t mind nuzzling up to his!

All I can think of now is the next book in the series.. 😍😍😍 thank you Becca for giving me everything I look for in a book.. another HOME RUN!

Parker is the sweetest man. And I am a sucker for a beard. Haley's type A personality was easy to related to. There were points I wanted to throttle her for her ridiculousness and lack of self-worth. If I'm being honest I was worried how this was going to play out. You meet them in book one and they are great side characters. But you know they have already gotten together. But Becca did a great job of building the tension, and adding layers to the depths of the characters. These two are playful, and fun. Being on their road trip to their HEA was perfect. I can't wait to see what comes next.

This book was a fun light read. Both main characters were very likable. There was some repetitive inner dialogue that lost my interest at times and I found the beginning a bit confusing as to who certain people were at times but overall a cute story. I received this book for my honest review.

Not Your Average Road Trip.
OhGoodness where to start with how much I love this book.
Parker is a pro baseball player hottie set on his dream, also deep down is the sweetest guy and laid back.
Haley lives her life with checklist and a plan even if it leads to a safe "ok life"
They have a casual "friendship" while Haley is in an open relationship with Doug (doug the douchebag)
The news of wedding bells doesn't sit well with Parker so "project kidnapp bride" comes into play and it leads to an adventure of Parkey and Haley crossroads adventure. He knew she wouldn't be exactly happy about it but he was hoping to change her mine.
Hoping Parker can prove he's not just a pro baseball player and he can take care of her..it's not just a fantasy , he sweeps her off her feet and tries to see if he can keep her forever.
They are such a beautiful couple. It's not a typical authentic celebrity relationship full cameras and big flashy trips.
The little texts, conversations and overall flow of this book had me laughing and couldn't put the book down.

Parker is her savior of being stuck in a loveless marriage with someone who doesn't respect her or she her for who she is.Haley finally is made a priority.
Absolutely loved this...the ending..💍
Spontaneous Haley is the best!

Did I like her whole "I'm still going to go back to Doug and NY after" not necessarily. BUT that's also who Haley is as a person. She told Parker up front it wasn't a relationship, she had her whole checklist inbedded into her mind. She was stubborn with it and didn't want to lose that security.  They are perfect for each other.
She was afraid. Parker is amazing I absolutely love him how he cared for Haley and was still keeping his goals.

Parker for the win!

A light and sweet read, Not Your Average Road Trip was very enjoyable. I will say right off the bat that I am not sure I've ever read a book with a storyline such as this one. The whole road trip romance trope, yes, but Becca Jones raised things to another level.

I also really loved Parker's character. He was very laid back and humble, and he definitely balanced things out for Haley. I will admit, though, I wasn't a fan of Haley's and I especially wasn't a fan of the whole Doug situation. That said, I was very happy to see her come out of her shell. Her and Parker shared this chemistry that sizzled and it allowed for their relationship to be quite easy and for things to flow nicely between them. Towards the very end, I was ecstatic to see just how much Parker had truly inspired Haley to finally change things up in her life.

Oh! One other thing I absolutely loved and had me giggling quite a bit was the interaction between all of their friends. Those text messages? Hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud several times.

All in all, this was a great book I recommend you check out, especially if you love road trip romances!

always have a plan

Haley always needs to have a plan. Detailed. Thought out. Written down plans with checks in all the boxes.

When she meets Parker while on a “break” for lack of a better term from her *eye roll* boyfriend Doug. She doesn’t think it’s more than just friends having fun. But oh how wrong she is.

Kidnapping brides on their wedding day. A road trip she’ll never forget. Fighting the urge to always have a plan…

This book was a fantastic follow up to book one (Willa and Bentleys story) well written, flows perfectly, no extra fluff where it wasn’t needed, Becca Jones knocks it out of the park with this one.

This one def. Checked all the boxes for me to highly recommend this to everyone!

I LOVED this book. In love you have to be able to put everything out there and fight for the person you love and the characters on this book did just that. Persistent effort that goes both ways says it all in a relationship and at the end im guesing that's what I liked the most on this book. This book was a lot of fun to read, I mean is not on every book that you read the bride gets kidnapped to go on a road trip on her wedding day.

I love these characters and will definitely be doubling back to read the other books in the series. I will say this is surprise pregnancy, and that's pretty much the focus of the story so don't read this if you don't like reading about pregnancy. However, if you don't mind books with pregnancy then the spice in this book is fantastic. There is some light degrading and spanking. It's friends to lovers and the main character isn't 100% sure that her friend is the dad so we have a bit of a Mama Mia situation. Their banter between them and their other friends is absolutely hilarious and I ate it up. And I really loved that the main character is strong and independent and prepared to raise the baby on her own if it comes to that. This book will have you in tears from laughter at the banter and her cravings but also because the fear, loneliness and sadness the main character feel are very relatable.

Where do I start with how I feel about this book? I absolutely love Parker and Haley. He is the sweetest, most laid back guy. I loved diving into who he was, and where he comes from. You get a look into his relationship with his parents and baby sister. How driven he is to be the best at all costs. He is even willing to sacrifice what could be with Haley, knowing she won't wait forever for him retire when he is done with his MLB career. I loved bringing some of my favorite people back so you could see their friendships and where they are now. Haley is just as sweet, just less sure of herself. We dive into how different she is from her friends. Haley doesn’t come from the same background as Willa, so being in the limelight is hard for her. She's more of a nose to the grindstone. But she needs to learn that life doesn't always work that way. There were moments I wanted to throttle her, shake her and tell her life is meant to be lived with someone you love and who loves you. I enjoyed being on their road trip, putting onto paper the small gestures that made them the couple they were and could be.
