All-American Man: the Hero
Lillith Giles: his Fiancée
The Raven: the Villain out for revenge . . .

One year after All-American Man clipped my wings and left me for dead in the California desert, I’ve finally found the way to unseat the country’s most beloved Hero: by getting to his less-than-happy fiancé. Lillith Giles may be all smiles for the paparazzi, but I know a trapped bird when I see one.

My nemesis took what mattered most to me, so I’ll return the favor.

But then All-American Man tries to kill Lillith himself. Suddenly I’m her savior, and the more time we spend together, unraveling the threads of this golden-boy-turned-murderer, the more I have trouble staying a Supervillain who needs to take down his enemy.

I’m a Villain. She belongs to the Hero.

Do I want my revenge, or do I want her?

Thank you to the authors for sending me a copy to review!

This was such a fun read.

I'm a huge Marvel fan, and I love a good revenge plot, so I was a little excited to pick this book up. And it did not disappoint.

I read this book in one sitting (possibly during a class but let's ignore that). It got me out of a month-long reading slump. It's addictive, fast-paced, with fun characters, and plenty of spice. Seriously, if you're looking for something on the spicier side, this is for you (and it won't make you wait for those scenes).

However, my favorite part of this book was all of the Marvel references hidden in the book. As a die-hard MCU fan, it was so fun seeing the nods to that universe. That said, Nemesis remained original enough to stand on its own, and I loved seeing the direction it took these common comic book tropes and themes.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Thank you to the authors for sending me a copy of this book to review, all opinions presented are honest and my own.

This is a book for all of my 18+ steamy romance readers out there. If you’re a fan of the Amazon Prime show ‘The Boys’ minus the religious subtext then I think this is a great book for you. This is a relatively quick read, as it comes in under 300 pages and let me tell you, I sat down and gobbled those pages up. It was sexy, and you definitely do not have to wait for the sex scenes to occur. If you’re big on tension and angst, well there is still some angst but there is not this huge buildup before characters decide to play. Personally, I didn’t mind the abrupt sex, because sometimes I don’t want to wait until I’m halfway through the story for the characters to get together.

Essentially, we have Lily, a civilian woman who is dating All-American man, and his archnemesis The Raven who is out for revenge. Except, well, nothing goes as expected and everyone is not what they appear to be. Some things you’ll encounter in this book are: voyeurism, threesomes, mind-sex (you’ll understand later). I had a lot of fun with this story and since this is the debut novel for author duo Liza Penn and Natasha Luxe I will check out what they have in store for book two in their Heroes and Villains series.

Additionally, I checked Amazon and this will be available on Kindle Unlimited for anyone who utilizes that service.

I read this book via Kindle Unlimited.

Okay so, is the theme of the year shaping up to be spicy published fanfictions? Yes.

Am I okay with that? Also yes.

This book is HEAVILY inspired by our main man, Sam Wilson. If anyone knows me, they know I am a simp for Sam Wilson so when this was recommended on tiktok I had to pick it up. Basically, The Raven (Fallon) is a villain who is looking revenge on the All American Man, Ari, after Ari broke his wings and left him for dead at the bottom of a ditch. He soon works out that the best way to do that is to attack Ari's heart, i.e. through his fiance, Lillith. When he follows them, he witnesses Ari trying to kill Lillith as an "accident" and saves her life and takes her to Scarlett's base where he tells and shows her what Ari did and they work to get to the bottom of it. This is all while Ari plants a public story that Fallon kidnapped Lillith. Lillith also decides she wants revenge on Ari while she falls deeper in love with Fallon. But did Ari really mean it and can Heroes Org really be trusted?

I thought this book was going to be super cheesy. I'm sometimes skeptical of AU inspired reads but I found myself really enjoying this. Maybe because it was fanfiction reminiscent, it felt comfortable, but I really liked the characterisation of Fallon in this book. Sure he's a villain and sometimes his judgement is a little skewed but he truly has a good heart and I'm always a sucker for a bad boy with a good heart.

Someone has written their marvel fanfiction, complete with knock of Captain America and the Xmen Angel and decided it’s good enough to publish

This feels like if Amazon Prime's The Boy's was actually a romance. I weirdly loved all these characters and the book was really fast paced and easy to read. It's a series that I'll continue reading

Seeing a recommendation for this book, I got excited. I am on a romance kick, this covered Super Heroes, and it was said to be fun for anyone who loved the MCU. It... fell flat.

Over all, it was okay. My biggest problem was the fact that the initial romance happened over the course of less than twelve hours. While this works for some stories, it's often best to leave timelines to the imagination with romance in my opinion. However, the authors kept pushing it.

I liked the character of Fallon, he was a bit odd but he was fun. The main female, Lilith though wasn't it though.

Also, while I'm all for Inspired by, some of the names of villains and heroes were full on rips from Marvel (Captain America --> All American Man, Winter Soldier --> Winter Warrior. Using Thor [while he is a Norse god, there are ways around this since it's clearly Marvel inspired]. Those that weren't felt like they came from a kid's movie, (The Hive)

This book gave me no interest in continuing the series.

This was a fun book and a quick read! I’m excited I found a series of marvel inspired spicy books. If the others are like this I’ll easily enjoy the series over the week!

[3.5?] this book could’ve been so much better if it didn’t feel like only 3 days passed in the first 200 pages. if things developed more gradually i personally would’ve had a better reaction to it. i’ll probably continue the series though bc i did enjoy the characters+their storylines and these are easy reads.

it’s okay

Overall, it’s okay. The book is a quick read and can be read as a stand alone. It’s cheesy for sure but you’re not really looking for plot and development as much as spice and good old smut. The battle is pretty interesting but can’t say that I’ll remember it later.

Wow.

Wow wow wow. This was so much fun! It’s fast-paced, immediately addicting, and surprising in the best ways. Although it has a lot of typical comic book themes and tropes, it’s definitely not for children. This is an adult book because we jump right in with the smut and it does not stop. There’s really no angst or waiting - you dive right into the smut.

I’m always impressed when someone can make a new superhero and villain story and keep it original somehow. Picture plenty of Marvel references, some X-Men, and a little bit of Amazon Prime’s The Boys - but still a story of its own. Superhero fantasizes meets organized crime with a steamy romance along the way.

It’s a dual POV told by the dark, broody villain. Need I say more??

I was sent this book by one of the authors, Natasha. As I write this review around 12:30 AM I know I won’t be able to go to sleep knowing there’s a second book. I want to know what happens next.

Okay so I binged this book in a day and it was sooo worth it. Compared to other spicy books I've read this year this one was actually promising. I am an actual Hero nerd - in terms of like movie content consumption - so it was super fun trying to place some of the heroes and villains I love here. I mostly in the end opted for a heavy Xmen sort of vibe for this series. And yeah I loved the spicy scenes they felt adequately suited for the universe in which the characters find themselves but more than anything I loved the characters, their development, and the story. It didn't feel stupid and angering at any point, recommend it for those of us who wished all of this was actually portrayed by the hot af actors on the big screen.

Also, Fallon and Lilith better have more books coming up because they are sooo freaking cute!

I let this sit on my Kindle for so long I nearly deleted it, but I'm really glad I didn't. This is a steamy parody of the entire superhero genre. One of the reasons I hesitated to read this is because I'm such a big marvel fan I was nervous that I'd dislike this because it's such an obvious take off. But it's a clever little story and doesn't hide what is doing. Anyone who can read this and not picture marvel characters clearly hasn't seen a superhero movie in the last 20 years. But there's a health dose of The Boys in there too, with a corrupt organization for supers. I think it could have been full novel length if the authors had wanted to include a third POV and had the hero's actions devolve into evil at a slower pace. As is it's a quick sexy amusing read that hooks you in so you're ready for book two.

After not one but TWO of my friends sent me a TikTok made by Natasha Luxe about Alter Ego, I knew I just had to give this series a shot. Blessedly, I was not at all disappointed. I'm only disappointed these books don't have more engagement and reviews!

As a Chris Evans superfan, myself, the very name Ari Dodgers made me giggle (Red Sea Diving Resort?) and I found myself rather in love with finding even more easter eggs spread throughout.

Somehow, the authors do it without it feeling forced or cliche or awkward. It's still its own story but it feels familiar enough to really dig your toes in. You feel like you know these characters and, in reality, you kind of do. The Boys meets Marvel, I'm really, really excited to read more and I'll definitely be recommending this one so far.

Marvel Meets Romance Novel

Okay, I know I know, a three star review but I really enjoyed this! You can definitely see the references to MCU and as someone who loves a superhero storyline in general, I definitely have a soft spot for Marvel. I loved the Hero/Villain switch and how everything isn’t as simple as it may appear. This was both action packed and sexy. I felt like the progression of Fallon and Lillith’s relationship moved a smidge fast for me, and I wanted a little bit more conflict from the ending where the big battle plays out, but overall I really loved this! I loved the relationship they developed with Persephone and Scarlet and how they added the tech/medic side to it. I’m definitely going to be reading more from the series!

This was such an interesting read. It takes paranormal and organized crime and romance in a unique plot but is fast paced, engaging, I liked that it didn’t have info dump (a bunch of world building and no action) so you know what’s going on and you pick up things quickly. It’s steamy and has lots of twists and turns also it has some v spicy sex so if that’s something that is uncomfortable for you, just letting you know beforehand and if you like paranormal and dark romance, this is perfect for you. The characters are super interesting I can’t say much without spoiling but just go into this blind and you will not be disappointed!

Actual rating is 3.5 stars, but I rounded it up because this book kept me from dipping into the reading slump I felt myself entering.

Nemesis was a fun, quick, spicy read with a few plot twists that genuinely surprised me. While I wish there was more plot (because the plot was excellent and I usually prefer a dash of spice rather than the full seasoning) I had a good time and honestly can't complain. Spicy superhero novels are an untapped well of potential I hadn't even considered before I heard of Nemesis, but there's no going back. Give me ALL the spicy superhero books. I'm HERE for it.

1.5 of 5 stars.

Not my cup of tea.

I read all the way through hoping I will love it. I was a bit excited to read this but within the first chapter it was almost painful to read as a lot of the characters were based off the Marvel universe and it read like a fanfiction than an actual story, which is the only thing that I felt was the only thing original. The character fell flat and were almost cringy at times. It felt like a train wreck that I couldn't put down because the writing was good and I wanted to know how it ended. The weak character structure and the rush of the story doesn't want me to even to continue the series.

This was fun to read, the povs in every chapter worked very well and the characters are all intriguing. The plot was cohesive and the twists and turns got me good. I would love to read more about scarlet and watcher because their relationship was very interesting and unique. This was a short but satisfying read, although it took me quite some time to finish because of my unbridled rage for ari. Then again, this book made sure every character had an established, dynamic purpose, and i cannot stress this enough, the hot moments were unique and well written.

This is a fun and quick read. Mostly smut with few plot. Insta lust/love.

We start off with Fallon, a known arch nemesis of Ari (Captain America spin off) watching America’s most loved superhero on tv with his normal human girlfriend, Lilith. But is Ari all that he is set out to be? Fallon recognizes Lilith’s hesitation in her demeanor when being around Ari. Inspiring Fallon to enact revenge on Ari…

In this we have characters such as Edna, who creates bullet proof and traceable clothing for the villains. We also have Persephone, who is the head of all villains and maintains ordinance in that dark depths.

fun but crazy

The book was so bad the it ended up being really quite good, I feel like so much has happen but also nothing happened at all, it honestly feels like a fever dream, I kinda knew who was behind the mind control quite early on because it was kinda obvious but I do feel like there wasn’t a moment between the leads were they just had a romantic moment without it ending in…, the whole thing was in a very short time frame like less than a week.

Desires

I can’t wait to sleep and dream of dark angels! Fallon, oh my the throbbing!! Scarlet and Persephone. Please!! I’m pan and I swear I was hoping for more FMF/FFM scenes. Shoot the FF scene that I pictured was yeah definitely one that I would love to see true. Lilith has always been a favorite of mine in mythology but woo!! I’m just imagining myself as her.

Yo! So I swear one of the guys in the harem was Tony Stark. Idc what anyone says.

It’s an easy read. Fast paced. Rather good for the type of book it is. Easy, short, fast, to the point. I read it more like a short story, rather than a novel, and it is good if you consider it a short story.

I needed an easy read. It felt good reading it.
I will read the rest.

I feel like it may be a good book if your struggling to find something too read, and long detailed books Sean daunting.

"She has a predator’s eyes, and I think they may just devour me, body and soul."

Book isn't perfect by any means, but it was an enjoyable read. Every book doesn't have to be literary perfection. Sometimes you need something sweet and funny and trashy! This book is my junk food, and I loved every second of reading this. It was a great mix of Marvel fanfiction and pure villiany. I love Fallon and Lillith. I definitely need to read the rest of the series.

This was a great book to quench the superhero fever. It was a nice read that leaves you wanting to know more about the world it is based in and also what happened and will happen with other characters in the universe.

I found this book because of a TikTok I saw a week or so ago and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed this story. I feel like I haven't seen a superhero romance series before. I'm sure there are others but this is the first one that I've read and I really enjoyed it.
Some parts of it did feel a little rushed, but I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read more in this series.

Marvel in a spicy read???? SAY WHAATTTTT...

This was a quick and easy read! I enjoyed the characters, and their likeness to our beloved superheroes!! I thought Fallon was delicious, and while sometimes the story felt cheesy, it was overall a fun read. I'm glad it was recommended on BookTok by some of my bookish friends.

There was much more of a plot than I expected and I truly appreciate the nods to Scarlet Witch and Vision along with Falcon and Captain America.

The story does move very quickly and it’s rather niche for those who appreciate superhero/marvel as well as smutty romance novels. This was a great start to the series!

The plot was super interesting, but I am glad that the next book is coming out soon because it was so short! I finished the book so quickly and the actual plot of the story didn't move very much in the short time, so I'm excited to read the next book at the end of April!

Exciting new take on super heroes and villains

I really enjoyed reading this book and I finished it in less than 48 hours. It was steamy and well written. Highly recommend it to the fans of super heroe/villain movies that want to have sexy fantasies and about them.
