Wielding her legendary power comes at a price Erisi isn’t willing to pay. Hell-bent on keeping her demonic side locked up, she fights for survival in human form. When Lucifer offers her a place by his side, safety is finally within her reach.
All she needs to do is conquer one demonic family. Killing their leader is easy enough, but staying in power? Unless she wants to keep hundreds of demons on a tight leash, she needs to work with the one demon who sways them all, second-in-command Torag.
This time, she can’t win through sheer power. If only she could get under his skin like the gorgeous male gets under hers. If only she truly understood the male who puts everything on the line for his family.
If only he didn’t make her wish he’d fight for her too.
When their family comes under siege, they need to pull together. But what if her demon is the only one who can keep them safe? What if her demon is the one who ends them all?
••••••••••••••••••••••• Demons tend to know very little restraint, especially those living in ancient times. This book contains graphic fight scenes, steamy scenes that do NOT fade to black, and some explicit references to violence.
This is an enemies-to-lovers story with a HEA, suitable for 18+. It's the first of a longer series, but all books feature a different couple and can be read stand-alone. NO cliffhangers for their love stories!
Ella Moore is 80% hopeless romantic, 20% sarcastic, and 10% ignorant of math equations. Her paranormal romance books feature fierce demons, warrior angels, and one fallen angel with plans to conquer the world.
These powerful beings are filled with the kind of determination that changes the world. They love with heart, body, and soul. Just like the author, who can't stop writing their stories. When she's not working on the next book in the Hellfire series, Ella is binge-reading or hanging with friends who love books.
Fast paced and chock-full of tension (the best kind, wink wink), Wildfire will sink it’s claws into you from the first chapter.
First off, let’s talk about these characters! Erisi is a tiny but mighty warrior propositioned by Lucifer to conquer a group of demons—but what she has in store for the Arav family is so much more! We follow her through her challenges with taking control of the horde and battling both enemies, and the secrets locked away inside herself. For all her cheery temperament, she is hardened as steel and a force to be reckoned with, both traits I deeply admire.
Enter Torag—if Erisi is the head of the family, Torag is the heart! He lives and breathes for the good of those he cares for, and that is probably the sexiest thing in a man (or demon). Who says the powerful, attractive ones can’t be all soft on the inside? I’m a total simp and I know it. It’s just impossible not to love him from the very beginning!
Between the relatable and well-loved characters, fleshed-out world building, and neatly rolled up steamy romance, Wildfire is everything I could want in a book. Honestly, I see a lot of myself in Erisi, and can’t help but root for and feel for her throughout her journey. Talk about empowered! And the spice between the two most powerful demons in this family—well, let’s just say I don’t know what’s hotter: them, or hell itself.
**I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review**
This is such a good paranormal romance story and such a good start to a new series. All characters are very well thought out and the world building is done amazingly.
The story follows Erisi, who is a demon propositioned by Lucifer who falls hard for Torag, another demon. This story takes you on quite the rollercoaster ride but you don’t feel lost at all. Torag is strong with his dominance while not being too overbearing and Erisi is strong with her determination and her vulnerability.
The characters stand out on their own both together and in their own ways. And I loved how this book was told in dual POV. This was the perfect combination of violence, love, plot twists, and steamy romance.
Gritty, intense, violent, but somehow still tender at the same time, Wildfire is a rollercoaster ride. It’s a unique take on demons and hell, and despite the otherworldly beings still manages to explore relatable themes like trauma and family and love.
Erisi is a total badass but also has a vulnerability to her that makes her so human. Torag balances her perfectly and together they gripped me from the first page all the way to the last. The visceral steamy scenes were hot but also incredibly powerful and that lends the book even more of a mark on me.
10/10 recommend, you do not want to miss this book or this author. Ella’s writing is beautiful and layered and her characters will stick with you long after you put them back on your shelf.
This was an amazing introduction to a new world of daemons and their lives. You Meet Lucifer briefly and his Domaine . then you are sent on a mission with a demon to take over a demonic family living independent of Luciferwell not sworn to fight for him. you meet all the Family and see how they live and survive together not fighting each other for status as the ones working for Lucifer have to. Ersi the wildfire warrior sent to bring them to heal has become part of the Family she has learned to care this is wonderful book parts are scary and the edge of your seat but so worth the read. Enjoy
This is the first book in a new series. Both characters are paranormals, the characters are very well developed and thought out, and the book has very good pacing, which kept my interest throughout the whole book, Erisi is a very strong female lead, which I really liked, Torag is still dominant and possessive, but not scared or threatened by Erisi’s strength and power, there is plenty of steam. It was great that it has the POV of both characters, as I felt I related to them more, and understood their actions and feelings. The building of the background of the story was excellent and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed reading wildfire and cant wait for the next book the series.
Listen, normally I tend to shy away from the enemy to lovers' stories because there are certain overdone cliches that I'm not particularly fond of or enjoy reading but Ella did an incredible job with Erisi and Torag’s development both as individuals and as lovers and I enjoyed EVERY bit of it!
The couple didn't just trip and fall over each other confessing their undying love for one another (one of the overdone traits I'm not fond of ) Erisi and Torag took a whole lot of work, trust, communication, and honesty on both ends. We gradually move from Torag injuring Erisi to the point of surprise and her trying her best to bend him to her leader’s will for the family's sake to this:
“Because I love you more than my own life, Wildfire. All of you. Any form you choose to take.”
AND
Defiance flared in the ice of her eyes. “Bite me.” Torag’s teeth grazed her throat. “That can be arranged.”
The pace was balanced to perfection, as a reader I took pleasure in getting to know not only the main characters but the side ones as well, they played their role beautifully.
Wildfire isn't just about romance and demons but it also has a slice of life elements such as forgiving oneself for the hurt not only that you've inflicted on others but that of yourself as well along with accepting what and who you truly are. It also tells the tale of second chances of what you'd called a good life for yourself and your family along with doing whatever it takes in protecting them from harm even if it means from yourself.
I did not expect to like this so much, it had been sitting in my tbr for so long that I forgot why I liked it in the first place. lmao But this shit slayed so hard omg, we love a little found family/ enemies to lovers moment. The characters are so cool and the worldbuilding around the demons was really interesting cause not I just want a cozy cottagecore-style book where one of the demons bakes break and tells me interesting shit about the world. Like what's the outside world look like? like, are we in hell? how much does a cabbage cost in hell?
The two MCs were also so fun to follow around and the way they fell in love was so organic and believable, with him looking out for his family and having to admit that what she is doing does help the family and having them slowly work together was just chefs kiss, truly the juiciest part of the book.
This is a new to me author (just read the novella yesterday ‘Mortal love’ also adored) but I feel as if I’ve read her stories before as I felt welcomed back into a world where I’ve spent time before. I absolutely loved this story from the minute I started reading. I love the writing style and the characters draw you in straight away and make you adore or despise them. They drew me in and ensured I stayed to follow their journey. Can’t wait to see what’s going on in book two!
Omg what a great story! Erisi is a tiny but incredibly powerful demon who is constantly underestimated. She gets sent off to conquer the Arav family and bring them under Lucifer’s rule. She meets Torag who is second in command and lives to protect his family. Torag is just incredible. He is smart, ruthless and loyal, not to mention unbelievably handsome. He is everything. This was such a wonderful good! Can’t wait to read more by this author!
A great start to this new series. A story of love and the fight for survival in Hell on Earth.
This is the first book in a new paranormal romance series from Ella Moore. The book is set on a version of Earth where humans and demons both live in their own family tribes on the same plane of existence.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was nice to read something where both main characters were supernatural and humans didn’t really come into play very much. The characters were all really well developed and the author clearly gave a lot of thought to their very different personalities. The book is written from the POV of both main characters and switches between the two seamlessly, giving a much more holistic view of the story for the reader.I love the writing style. The story was well paced and there was nothing which jarred me out of this very detailed world the author had created. Excellent world building. Excellent character development. Excellent writing style. This author is now firmly on my reading list and I look forward to immersing myself in future books from them.
This book is set in a time before hell was separate from Earth. Before Lucifer had taken his place as ruler. Before humans dominated the planet. In this world, demons spend most of their time in human form and only bring forth their demonic form in times of battle. There are many levels of demon; some far more deadly than others.
Erisi is a warrior demon who lives in her human form; very few have seen her demonic form and those who have, invariably don’t live to tell the tale. Erisi is blood bound to Lucifer and tasked with expanding his rule and influence over the demon population. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she is ordered to take control of the strategic stronghold of the Arav family, which she does by sending their leader to his true death.
Torag is an Arav demon, enslaved by it’s former leader. His role has been to keep the family safe behind the scenes, despite the terrible leadership. It’s a role he has maintained for a millenia. When the leader is dispatched with, the responsibility for keeping the family safe is formally placed on his shoulders when he finds himself named as second in command. He doesn’t trust easily but it would seem that Erisi might just be the type of leader his family needs.
This story is complex. A story of how manipulative and controlling Lucifer was in his rise to power. A story of two very damaged individuals growing and learning to live again, against the odds. A story of love in the most unexpected of places. I was completely enthralled and I cannot wait to see where else this story goes.
5 Stars. Like Gladiator, but with demons. Brilliant!
**I received and Advanced Reader Copy of this book**
Wildfire by Ella Moore is a brilliant fantasy romance set in a world under Lucifer’s reign. It’s a medium-burn dual POV, with plenty of tension until the peak of their romance. The worldbuilding is exquisite and the characters so realistic they take on a life of their own.
Erisi, the Wildfire Warrior, comes in a petite human form that belies the truth: she is one of, if not the most powerful, demon in existence. But with great power comes a tragic backstory: the accidental deaths of people she has loved when she has lost control of her demon. The most powerful being in creation is even beyond her own control, and when her demon gets loose, everything around her is razed to the ground. Her bite-sized stature means she is often underestimated, but her strength and her attitude made me completely fall in love with her. She reminds me a lot of Lagertha. Small, but cunning and powerful. I loved Erisi’s personality and her banter.
“You’re all the same. Big powerful demon. Can’t figure out how the hell the tiny female beat him. Needs to find her weakness so he can have her crawl at his feet.” Erisi smiled at him. “You are more than welcome to try.”
Erisi’s love interest, Torag, had been watching and lamenting as their former clan leader had led his family further and further into the darkness. Until Lucifer send’s Erisi his way, with the order to gain control of the Arav family of demons. When Erisi takes over leadership, Torag becomes her second in command. She affectionately refers to him as ‘the Giant’ due to their size differences. And yet, their sparring sessions and battle scenes are described in such detail that it feels like you’re watching a blockbuster. Oh yeah, and he’s SUPER hot.
“Erisi had seen all kinds of expressions on his striking face. Anger and annoyance at her being the most common ones, but this… His smile was deadlier than a dagger.”
There’s plenty of tension as they face common enemies and their own demons (pun!). The tension and drama with these two characters is A++, but even the side characters come to life. I’m left with the desperate longing to know what happens to Yerle! I really, really loved this book, I loved the world that Ella has created for this series, and I can’t wait for more!! Gimme, please! Like, ASAP. Brilliant. Brilliant book.
Wildfire is a refreshingly unique story. The characters have good depth and the background and circumstances sucked me right into their world—one ruled by a very intriguing Lucifer. From the start, the characters show a range of both human and demon strength, power, pain, and vulnerability. Torag and Erisi fight so hard for peace and any lasting semblance of joy that it's easy to instantly root for them to overcome all of their demons, so to speak ;) and triumph over their enemies.
The chemistry between Erisi and Torag is smoking hot. From scene one of Torag’s introduction, I was hooked. Their personalities melded so well together and provided a constant push and pull of emotions. They are solid gold!
I also appreciate Torag’s relationships with the other demons. He and Yerle have a great bond that provided needed levity to the story and great moments of banter. His relationship with Sura is also really well done with their shared loyalty and his pride at her rise to leadership. His connection with the souls was a nice touch which showed a softer side to him though it also made him strong in his convictions and purpose - he needed to protect them at any length and that was a great motivator for him throughout the story and initial tension point with Erisi. All of the layers here were so rich. I felt drawn to this family and all the dynamics at play.
There were plenty of twists and turns in this, and I often felt like I was on the edge of my seat. The pacing was nice and created a smooth flow where I would be lulled into a safe place and then hit with something dire - an attack, an injury, sex, some intense extreme that had me riveted! Such great plot surprises with an expert weaving of characters, action, romance, and suspense.
This is a fun, well developed story, tightly written, fast paced, and able to pull out every emotion. I’m so sad that it is over and cannot wait to see what happens next and in the future with Lucifer!!!
Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
Erisi is the most feared demon in the whole of hell. Her reputation precedes her, that is until they see her and then think how could she possibly be the most feared demon when she won't even turn into demon form. That is their mistake and she will make them pay. She will do whatever it takes to become head of Lucifer's guards to prove her worth. Well, almost anything.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait to read the next one. I found myself asking questions about why the characters are the way they are and what's happened as you are given snippets until they are ready to tell you so the question does get answered and it's horrific what both characters have been through. I enjoyed the growing relationship between all of the characters and how they become a family. The amount of detail in the battle scenes had me feeling a bit icky at times as you can almost see what is happening through the descriptions given.
I recommend you read this.

Wildfire portrays a very unique take on the demon world. Imagine a dark middle age era where people live in strongholds and add a splash of city-states feel, only instead of humans, demons are the stars. Able to switch between their human and demonic form, they live among people in their own "families", they make deals to bring more souls to their horde. They train and fight among each other. And even though it might all seem power-hungry and unrelatable, the opposite is true.
The character arcs are simply beautiful. We see them overcome their fears, their PTSD, their insecurities, their guilt... We see the most powerful demon crumble under the weight of the impact of her actions. What millennia of mistreatment does to a soul. We also see how powerful love can be.
I loved the complexity of this book in all aspects. The thought-out system the demon world works, the three-dimensional characters, the catching plot.
Every single part of this book was amazing - the characters - the storyline.
I honestly could not put it down and I just wanted to keep going with it.
Erisi the most powerful demon in existence and is sent on a mission by Lucifer, struggling to contain her power and demon Erisi does as Lucifer bids to try and keep herself safe.
Conquering the demonic family should be easy for Erisi, she is the wildfire demon after all but at what cost to herself and those around her.
I absolutely loved how her relationship pan out especiall with Torag and Mei, this is an absolute must read and i couldnt recommend it enough.
I cannot wait for book 2 to see what happens next in the Hellfire series.
Never would have thought I’d fall in love with a demon, but Torag is one hell of a gorgeous demon. In fact Torag and Erisi have a lot of human trades which makes it so easy to relate to them and their story. I found myself in the middle of the day yearning to be with them again (I always read in the evenings). Never experienced this before with another book, but their chemistry and the erotic tension between them is so captivating (yes, even addictive, though I don’t like admitting that ;-) ). The author depicts their rich emotional world really profoundly (wow, demons can be super sensitive and hot-tempered all at once) and colors the story with beautiful phrases that are a delight to read. Very thankful for the lovely evenings I got to spend with Torag & Erisi!
This book is truly about demons. Not demons living amongst humans. This book being set so far back in time almost makes you not even think "well, what about the humans" but rather focus on this interesting demon culture, long lived/quick-to-heal nature, and power dynamics. The character depth and interplay is truly incredible. Demons aren't typically my top paranormal genre pick... and I didn't even care one bit about that in reading this book, and I couldn't stop turning the pages to see what would happen next. I look forward to the second book, as it seems that the main characters that the author made me love will still have some page time even if they aren't the key characters.
A great PNR read full of demons, violence, spice, love, manipulation and twists and turns. The characters are really well fleshed out in this book where our FMC Erisi is the most powerful demon of them all yet still would like to see a world at peace. The chemistry between her and the MMC Torag is perfection! The world building is intriguing and something new to me as normally it’s Lucifer trying to take over but this time he already is ruler where both humans and demons inhabit the world together but in separate clans. Definitely a new take on demons and something for any PNR fan.
Previous paranormal romance that I've read with demons in it have featured human/demon relationships that take place mostly in the normal mortal world. I really like that this features two demons, and that the world of the demons is so well-developed.
Featuring a strong and politically savvy female lead and a strong, compassionate, and supportive male partner, this enemies to lovers tale is thoroughly enjoyable.
I received this book as an ARC, which can always be a bit dicey, but wow. I couldn't put the book down. Action packed right from the start. Fast paced and well-written. Definitely a steamy book but not to the point where it distracts from the plot. The action means there is some violence (reader beware) but I thought it made sense - we're talking about demons after all! Highly recommend! Can't wait for the next book.
Such a good start to the series! Cannot believe this is the author's first book! The writing is phenomenal, and the flow is amazing. The world created has so much depth, and I love the characters, especially Mei ♡ The dual POV really drew me even further into the book, and both views. I love Erisi, and how Torag helps her grow with her demon. Wonderful book!
I loved this book. I loved the female main character with her bad ass powers and sassy attitude. I love the male who accepts her powers and backs her up. I feel like the character development was spot on and the plot was great. Perfect length, can't wait to read the next one!!
