The third fatal book in the unforgivably funny And Then They All Died series, filled with atrocious dark comedy hijinks, cruelty to orphans, and soul-stealing insurance agents. Thomas is accused of murder and must clear his not-good name before his pre-trial execution. Orphans, doctors, psychologists, and insurance agents are among his suspects, but will Thomas find the real perpetrator? Taking out life insurance on orphan coal miners, how a psychologist cures a patient of his belief he is Hitler, and a hijacker having to talk a depressed pilot out of his suicide crisis, plus an invisible war on mimes, all in And Then They All Died A Third Time. Written by author Andrew Stanek, who the authorities have vowed to stop before he can write again.
Andrew Stanek brought back the whole gang in this third installment of the series, although readers will find the structure somewhat deviated from the prior books. I actually love the new style; I found it easier to read than the previous book. There are a noticeable lack of tangential asides which helps the flow of this story. I love the whole whodunnit murder mystery vibe, which Andrew writes with astonishing humor. Overall it’s a great read, I highly recommend for any fans of the series of of Andrew’s other works.
I personally think this series gets exponentially funnier with each outing. It had everything you could want in a story: mimes, alpacas, morgue tours, orphan violence (and that's only in the first 50 odd pages!). This book genuinely made me smile and laugh. For that, it gets a five star, it earned every one!
