1. One Cruel Wedding Night - K.A. Linde
3/5⭐️

The infamous Manhattan ice Queen Katherine Van Pelt Is set up in an arranged marriage to Camden Perry.
Her father defrauded all of his clients and the IRS. So they took almost everything nearly draining her trustfund.
To keep her lifestyle, a cruel bargain to be to become Camden‘s wife and have access to his money. But most importantly surrender to him. She accepted.

“How could I hate Camden Percy with the fire of a thousand suns and also want him to demand control of my body in the bedroom?”

This is a really quick novella about these two characters wedding day. And wedding night.. 🔥
Four days before Christmas, these two types the knot. She pretends that she doesn’t like him but it’s clear as day that there is definitely lust at first sight. Camden simply can’t wait to devour his new wife. Lots of sex.

Then we get to chapter 8 and it’s new characters Savannah and Derek who apparently got married on a sailboat a few weeks earlier. More new characters Maddox and Amelia. I honestly have no idea who these people are so it was kind of confusing that this chapter was thrown in at the end. They won a house in court, her grandmothers house. Which I guess her mother wanted? Again don’t know why this random chapter was thrown in. But maybe these are characters from this authors previous books. I personally haven’t read any books from her.

2. Two Turtle Doves - Skye Warren
4/5⭐️

This was a super short and sweet novella about Gabriel and Avery who have an adorable little girl named Helen and she’s about to pop with her second child, her son.
With family and friends exchanging gifts, you can tell that Avery has had a troubled past and doesn’t feel like she deserves some things and she really has to remind herself that she deserves all the good things in life. Gabriel is definitely a dominant and possessive husband. He loves hard.
I personally have not read their story. But it starts in the book The Pawn. Avery delivers on Christmas Day, her beautiful and perfect baby boy. Very sweet additional glimpse into these two characters lives.

3. Goner - Fiona Cole
5/5 ⭐️
So there’s this club called Voyeur and it’s basically a club where you go to sit, relax, have a drink,and indulge in voyeurism and your wildest fantasies.
Atlas goes there with his friend and his friends wife who loves to play with other women.
Well, one of the women immediately catches Atlas’s eyes.
This is a short story about Atlas and Amara. I have no idea if they have their full story. I know that this is a series of finish books from this author that follow different couples. But holy crap, the dirty talk and the smut is so well written from this author. I’m completely blown away. I had to send a scene to my husband to read. 😂
Atlas gets permission to do more than just voyeuristic looking, he actually gets permission to play with Amara. Everything is completely consensual. And it is hot hot hot. 🔥🔥
“Maybe if you’re good, I’ll find a quiet corner to eat your pussy. And if you’re really good, I’ll even let you come. “
It ends with you completely needing more in the Voyeur world.

4. Four Calling Birds - Nana Malone
2.5/5⭐️

This is a short novella about Prince Lucas and Princess Bryna. They have their own duet that is already out, Royal Bastard and Bastard Prince.

Lucas is a former thief. Well, sometimes he still does it but for the benefit of the good people. perhaps like a modern day Robin Hood.
Bryna finds herself in the works with a woman whose ex stole a precious family heirloom and won’t give it back. She knew that her husband could help out this woman. and so they do. They end up going to a Christmas party and try to switch out this heirloom. They do however get caught in a room and they rush off to hide because some weird shit starts happening with people dressed as birds and have sex while making bird calls. This whole scene was honestly awkward as fuck to read. Get it? Four Calling Birds? I don’t really have an opinion on the story. I didn’t connect with the characters, perhaps I would’ve liked it better if I read their full duet.

5. Five Golden Rings - Claire Contreras
1/5⭐️

Model and writer, Delilah meets Rory Amos, The founder and CEO of Olympic records who happens to be not only her favorite artist growing up but one of the few men that deserve the title sexiest man alive according to her.

This was a really awkward novella about two people meeting and hooking up immediately. And right after sex he proposes and says he’s going to keep proposing until she says yes.
“I am your forever date Delilah Bravo, soon to be a Delilah Ramos. Get used to it.”

“I know deep in my heart that marrying the man I’d lusted after my entire life, who had five rings on his cock, was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

😬😬😬
I personally found this novella cringy. Not my favorite out of the anthology.

6. On The Sixth Day - Nikki Sloane
5/5⭐️

Travis and Clay and Lilith are in a committed throuple relationship with each-other and have made a decision to come out to each parents that they are dating two people - During Christmas. But before the Christmas dinners, these three have a extremely steamy moment starting in the kitchen. it was the first time that Clay and Travis made a decision together to kiss each other and test the waters of the both of them being sexual with one another. being that they have considered themselves as straight man. This was a huge decision that they both decided on. And ended up loving. And obviously Lilith was in pure heaven because both of her boyfriends we’re getting it on. 😂
This was a sweet, short, steamy novella about three people in a really loving and adorable relationship.
“None of us were the glue that held our group together, because we worked as a unit.”

This throuple relationship have a book called The Architect. And it’s out now. 💙

7. Swan Song
by Giana Darling
5/5⭐️

We get a sneak peek into Finnegan Ramsey’s life as a 19 year old orphan. We know him as a side character named Curtains (If you’ve read the entire Fallen Men series, you know why this is his nickname. Lol)

He’s a hacker. That’s what he’s good at. It’s how he makes money. And throughout being a hacker, he has kept in touch and been friends with someone that goes by the name Swan.

We get a small moment with freaking Zeus!
And let’s just say some stuff goes down, where he finally gets to meet one of the best hackers ever, Swan. She has loved Finnegan from a far. Even though she’s never met him. Almost kismet.
“ I wanted to possess you. To make you mine and keep you with me wherever I went. Hidden like a secret so no one could take you from me. “

“You told me you were ugly,”
she said so quietly, I could barely hear her.
“But you’re more beautiful than I know what to do with. “

She feels like she can’t be with him. She’s genuinely trying to protect him and they have a single moment together. But it totally leaves off on us begging for more. This was just a single breadcrumb to a huge story behind Finnegan Ramsey a.k.a. Curtains.
The Internet in the virtual world is an extremely dark place and when shit hits reality… well… I just can’t wait for the story. And I hope that we get more!

8. My Present this Year - Sierra Simone
3/5⭐️

Umm okay. We have Nick. He’s a mental health professional. And he has a creepy as fuck obsession with his stepsister, Nora. There’s a seven year age gap. They are grown adults. since this was a novella I know it’s really hard to develop characters and relationships. The Knick just came off extremely fucking creepy.
Nora has always wanted Nick. Nick has been trying to keep away for three years. And when they decide to come back to their parents house, they basically attack each other and have some pretty kinky sex all over the place. Lots of detail. pure. But then I just got weird too quickly with the talk about marriage and babies when they literally just hooked up for the first time ever.
“ A ring, a house. Babies. I want everything with you.”

Meh.

9. Nine Ladies Dancing - CD Reiss
0/5⭐️

I don’t even know what to say about this. I feel like the author forgot that she was supposed to write something for this anthology and just winged it. It’s about robots. Fucking robots. Sex robots. You don’t know who is human or who isn’t. I thought the premise would be interesting but the writing is just choppy and awful. Nothing makes sense. This is a new to me author and I wouldn’t touch any of her books if I had to judge her writing based off of this. I’m a little shocked that this was part of the anthology. 😬

10. Ten Dirty Demands - Laurelin Paige
4/5⭐️
Sabrina is trying to convince her husband Donovan to play Santa for an office party. Despite him wanting to say hell no, he indulges her. But she’s going to owe him. 10 favors.
“Ten dirty demands”.

Let’s just say it involves some pretty interesting kinky things that he demands of her. One being inserting a cigar in her vagina. 🚬 🤨
Taking panties away. Edging her. Secret exhibitionism.
Writing “ Santa’s dirty filthy slut” on her inner thigh..

The 10th favor wasn’t necessarily granted because he asked for a baby and she’s not exactly ready for it. Overall it was a really dirty smutty quick story. I enjoyed it

11. Gift Me by M. Malone
5/5⭐️

Noelle is an accountant who has this dream that she’ll meet her Prince Charming around Christmas. Just like her sister, just like her parents, and just like her grandparents. They all met their partner for life around Christmas

Noelle has been crushing on her nerdy neighbor, Deacon Goode. He has a major crush on Noelle, but figured he wasn’t good enough for a pure hearted person such as herself. So he’s never made a move. However, he just cannot keep himself away from her and offers to help get her a tree for Christmas into her apartment. They kiss. He freaks. And walks away.
New mission: seduce hot neighbor.
And Noelle it! Well, nails Deacon.
“Is this what it’s like to have a partner that you know will always be there for you? Someone I could trust enough to explore all the dirty fantasies I’ve always hidden?”

I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of this author. And this was probably my favorite short story out of this anthology. It was perfect. For being so short, I felt like I knew the characters, the relationship was believable, and it just ends on a really cute HEA!

4 star review Twelve Naughty Days
A collection of hot and steamy stories with proceeds going to benefit suicide prevention. The theme of the stories is based around the song A Partridge in a Pear Tree which I love so that was an added bonus. When time permits I look forward to reading the other stories by the following authors:
K.A. Linde
Skye Warren
Fiona Cole
Nana Malone
Claire Contreras
Nikki Sloane
Giana Darling
Sierra Simone
CD Reiss
Laurelin Paige
M. Malone
Angelina M. Lopez

This review is for: Ten Dirty Demands by Laurelin Paige which was an entertaining, fun, hot read that ticked all the boxes for me. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that Ms. Paige wove as Donovan and Sabrina plan a Christmas party. I love these characters and could not wait to read this story.

This is a fabulous collection of stories and all the proceeds go to charity, and I think that is tremendous and so kind of all these authors.
Two Turtle Doves by Skye Warren took me an trip down memory lane, catching up with old friends, and looking into their lives in present day. Gabriel and Avery are pregnant with their second child, and are so full of love and happiness. I loved seeing them as parents

Little morsels of Christmas romance are the best. Especially when you're busy and you just want the best feelings right away.

This bundle includes the wonderful Two Turtle Doves by Skye Warren. How does this author manage to write a tale both cosy and majestic? She's so talented. Feelings evoked by this story are as beautiful as the words themselves.

Imagine a Christmas season decked with family love, handmade garlands and a surprise. Avery is still unsure of her worth in the midst of such fortune and love, but her friends, her children and her magnificent husband know how to prove it to her in heart-warming ways.

I love this story. The lush home, the traditional trimmings of Christmas, the intense and loving husband, the meaningful gifts, and the feel of love all around you.

☆One thing that I found to be missing from the audio version, was the intros by the author at the start of each story. Some of these are important to fully understand the story and/or how they relate to the song.

One Cruel Wedding Night, by KA Linde -narration by: Erin Mallon/SebYo. 3 stars. 1-10%, pgs 7-47. For some reason, I didn't like the writing on this one, and yet I still thought the good was story. I love an arranged marriage, and it was nice to read one where they weren't mortal enemies.

Goner (3) Fiona Cole - narration by: Ava Erickson/JF Harding. 3.5 stars. 15-24%, pgs 69-102. Part of the Voyeur world, it was nice to see characters that I knew, but not necessary to have read the rest of the series. This story was super hot and steamy, with some voyeuristic scenes and some FF mixed in, but ends with a very possessive Hero. I'd love to see this one extended.

Heist (4), by Nana Malone - narration by: Mari. 3 stars. 24-32%, pgs 105-135. Characters from Royals Undone series, with pop-ins from other books as well. Story itself was okay, but probably would've been better had I known these characters and their backstory.

Five Golden Rings, by Claire Contreras - narration by: Elena Wolfe/Gomez Pugh. 4 stars. 33-39%, pgs 138-162. I really liked this one, which is surprising as it's kind of an instalove story, and I typically hate those. The story stands alone, but I would love to see it extended so we can have more of these two.

On the Sixth Day, by Nikki Sloane - narration by Desiree Ketchum. 4 stars. 39-46%, pgs 164-188. Bonus scene from The Architect. I would be very interested in going back to read this throuple's backstory. The steam level was high and there was some off-page heartbreak that I want to know more about. There is some light MM, which I absolutely needed there to be more of.

Swan Song (7), by Giana Darling - narration by: Stephen Dexter. Not Rated. 46-58%, pgs 191-237. Prequel to The Fallen Men series. I am 100% sure that I didn't pay attention while listening to this story, so I'm not rating it, or including it in the average until I do a reread. From what I can tell, even though I have no interest in the rest of this series, this story seems like it would be right up my alley - I love hackers!

My Present This Year (8), by Sierra Simone - narration by: Madame Wu/Kaz Vadim. 5 star. 58-67%, pgs 240-272. My favorite of the anthology so far! It stands alone as its own story, but would happily read an extended version, just to get more of Nick and Nora.

Nine Ladies Dancing, by CD Reiss - narration by: Joe Arden. 2.5 stars. 68-77%, pgs 275-308. Well, the author did warn the readers about this one, at least in the ebook version (not in the audio). I think my biggest problem here was that I had no idea what was going on, or how it related to the song it was supposed to be based on. People were screwing robots, or people they thought were robots, or robots they thought were people. I think this one might have been better received if there had been some sort of introduction to this world, let us readers know if perhaps this is a future time, or parallel universe or whatever, instead of just dropping us into what felt like an already started story.

Ten Dirty Demands, by Laurelin Paige - narration by: Paul Woodson. 3.5 stars. 78-84%, pgs 310-334. Characters from Dirty Filthy Rich Men,, which I have not previously read. I really liked the idea if this story, even though I am not a fan of the BDSM dynamic (it's pretty light here.) I can see myself giving it a higher rating if it were longer because this one just seemed to stop when I thought it was getting good.

Gift Me (11), by M. Malone - narration by: Lacy Laurel/Ron Butler. 4 stars. 84-94%, pgs 336-371. This is by far the sweetest story of the bunch. Still good steam level, though. And it was another that felt like a complete story, as well as one that was brand new and not a continuation of already established characters. Which I love to see in anthologies.

Twelve Drummers, by Angelina M Lopez - narration by: Scarlett Hayes. 3.5 stars. 93-99%, pgs 375-395. I was a bit confused by this story at times, but still found it to be really good. And VERY steamy.

Two Turtle Doves, by Skye Warren. 2.5 stars. 10-15%, pgs 51-66. This was more of an epilogue than a story, and it was wrapping up characters from 3 books that I haven't read and 1 that I have. So while it was written well, I wasn't invested in it, and mostly found it boring. I feel like reader who have read these previous books (The Pawn, The King, Escort and Survival of the Richest) might enjoy seeing these people again. I also didn't really see a correlation to the 12 Days song line that was assigned, other than the dad sang it to his kids, but there were other lines used there too, so it didn't stand out as being related to the Doves.

Deck the halls and ring the bells, Twelve Naughty Days is the perfect kinky present under the tree. Thank you naughty Santa, this was a fantastic season diversion full of super steamy holiday treats that will get you all hot and bothered.

Themed around the twelve days of Christmas, this anthology is jam packed with some of romance’s most talented authors, many of whom I see as masters the fine art of balancing poetic prose and epic storytelling with scorching smut. Each delivers a unique short story, most of which are fantastic show cases of their writing style. And, a few are a bit, well, unexpected and unusual. In terms of my favorites, a few really popped with compelling stories and TONS of steam.

In a surprise to absolutely no one, two of the sexiest stories are delivered by favorites Fiona Cole and Nikki Sloane. Fiona Cole’s Goner takes us back to my FAVORITE series of hers, the Voyeur world and it is full of all the kinky play and dirty talk I love about that series. Amara and Atlas have insane chemistry, and it made me want to go back and re-read the entire series. SO HOT! And Nikki’s On the 6th Day features a throuple Travis, Clay, and Lilith. They plan on sharing their relationship with their families during the holiday, and it also includes some yummy scenes with them all together and some exploration. I’ve actually not read their full story (from the Architect) but the dynamics between them are really fantastic, and I feel like an excellent and meaningful depiction of a polyamorous trio. I loved them and want to read their book.

What was surprising was Skye Warren’s contribution and M Malone’s. Two Turtle Doves, Skye’s contribution is a story that was incredibly sweet and tender featuring fan favorites Avery and Gabriel from the Pawn. It’s a sweet tribute to this relationship, as Gabriel gives us alpha and devoted in the swooniest way. It’s quite nostalgic and family focused- a nice season tribute to the power of family and love. M. Malone is an author that I’m not familiar with- but I really enjoyed Gift Me. It’s like a super sexy hallmark movie, perhaps the most relatable premise in the anthology - the chemistry and characters were both great and it was both steamy and adorable. I’ll be checking out this author more.

I was most looking forward to Giana Darling’s contribution Swan Song and holy moly it did not disappoint! Giana treats us to a peak into Finnegan (whom we know from the the Fallen Men series as Curtains) in his pre-Fallen men. We get to see his friendship from his hacker work with enigmatic hacker Swan-who have a brief but precious moment. Clearly impactful to who this man is/becomes, and I am desperate for more of their story. And MAD bonus for some Zeus!

All in all, a great anthology- and one that benefits a very important charity, the Trevor Project. A perfect Christmas treat- a little bit sweet, and a lot naughty. Totally worth being on the naughty list!

This anthology is a take on the 12 days of Christmas, and makes them naughty. I personally love anthologies like this one, you get to meet different authors and also read some favorites.

Goner By: Fiona Cole

Fiona Cole us and always will be one of my favorite authors. She has a way of writing… that I can’t get enough of. She can write the most steamy books and still give the most compelling plots. This story was pretty short and sweet. We get to revisit the Voyuer world… and I get to find out that my favorite couple. (Daniel and Hanna) even though it’s brief. The story was a perfect steamy read with characters I’d love to get more of. The are brand new characters in the Vouyer world and I loved every moment of getting know them. If you love the authors writing like I do I defiantly recommend.

~ Swan Song by Giana Darling

Im not a huge fan of shorts stories, but I think no one does them as Giana!! Besides how short it's, I was so entertained with Curtains story, that I didn't realize I finished until I saw I was into another story.

That's how captivating Giana’s stories are. If you want a short novela that is fun and fast paced, go grab it asap. The book has several short stories to keep you entertained for a while and the benefits go to a fundraiser, so keep that in mind.

Lots of sexy fun and a surprising number of heist stories but overall definitely a fun holiday read! Great on audio with a full cast of top notch narrators!

Sierra Simone is why I bought this and really she was the only story I actively enjoyed. A few others were fine, and some were very meh in my opinion. Still. Sierra gets my vote every day of the week.

Oooh, I loved these bite-sized stories! Little morsels of characters I grew to love and some I hadn’t met before and am now dying to get to know better.

~~~
SWAN SONG by Giana Darling
Curtain’s (hi)story (from her Fallen Men series). It’s action-packed and suspenseful. I totally didn’t expect that. Ooh, and it’s a hacker story to boot! I was looking for more hacker-themed love stories just recently, haha. Ms. Darling just knows how to make her readers happy! PS: We get a glimpse of Zeus too!
~~
TWO TURTLE DOVES by Skye Warren
OMG, another huge surprise! My favorite Warren-couple made an appearance: Avery and Gabriel from her Endgame series. I loved the glimpse into their happily ever after, though it was for sure more emotional, more heartwarming than sexy. More sweet and tender than dirty. But, God, Gabe’s alpha vibes and devotion were on point. Swoon!
~~
TEN DIRTY DEMANDS by Laurelin Paige
DONOVAN!! ‘nuff said, lol. Lord, how I love this man. One of my top bbfs EVER! And in this short story he only proves that again. Dirty, demanding, filthy. Sabrina and his chemistry – off the charts as always. Holy wowza! I can’t tell you how excited I am that they will get another book in 2022, OMG!!
This anthology is HOT AF! OMG! These are short stories that coincide with the 12 days of Christmas.... kind of. The heat level is seriously off the charts! These are about some couples that we have already met in some of the authors' other books, or a secondary character that was mentioned. But the did not fail to pull me in 100% to these stories.... even though some of the authors were totally new to me! Laurelin Paige gave us some much anticipated glimpses into Donavan's brain and the way he thinks of things and how he sees his relationship with Sabrina! It was so fascinating! (probably my favorite of the stories because I have been on LOVE with this couple since their beginning!). Fiona Cole took us back into the world of Voyeur and I WAS SO HERE FOR IT! So hot! I will absolutely want to go back and read these again......
Swan Song by Giana Darling
I couldn't get enough of this fast-paced, suspenseful short story for The Fallen MC character, Finnegan (Curtains). I loved every crumb and morsel that G Darling gave her readers and it left me wanting more of these characters. It is the perfect short - it drew me in, kept me captivated, and I am intrigued and sitting on the edge of my seat ready for more. Can't wait for what's to come for these two! Well done once again G Darling!
One of my favorite things about anthologies is how different the stories are going to be inside the collection. I was, especially, excited about this one because I was curious how the authors were going to tie their stories into a particular day from the 12 days of Christmas.
One Cruel Wedding Night-KA Linde
These were new to me characters but they definitely piqued my interest. The chemistry coming from these characters was fire and I was 100% invested in watching this story evolve. After discovering that they make several appearances in this author's previous works, I will be adding them to my TBR.
Two Turtle Doves -Skye Warren
I will take any chance to read about Gabriel and his Avery. ANY chance. This was a bonus story that I was not expecting to get in their world. It offered a perfect peek into the future for these characters. Highly recommend it to anyone that has read the Endgame series.
Goner- Fiona Cole
The Voyeur series by this author is one of the hottest series that I have ever read and has some of my all-time favorite characters in it (Ian and Carina). So, color me surprised that this book was going to take me back to cameos by my favorite characters but also include some SPICY and delicious scenes. This was almost too hot for such a short story. I wanted more and was actually pretty bummed that it was this short because I wasn't done with Atlas and Amara. I hope that the author expands this story in the future.
Four Calling Birds- Nana Malone
I am on the fence with this story because I felt a little lost with the characters and who they were because they were new to me. I am sure for fans of these characters from before that they wouldn't have been lost. Lucas was a prince but also a former jewel thief so I found myself scratching my head. While this story was not for me, I still admire the author for being able to write, which I could not do in a million years.
Five Golden Rings- Claire Contreras
I struggled with this story because I couldn't connect with the characters. It felt like there were a lot of details trying to set up who the characters were or fluff, so to speak, and then it was BAM straight to an instant connection between the characters. I have to think that this was because this was just too much story to fit into the length requirement for this Christmas collection. It is a shame because the story had potential. I hope that the author decides to expand it in the future because I think that will turn this into something more.
On the Sixth Day- Nikki Sloan
The characters in this story have come from a previous series of hers. They have been on my TBR since this author's books have been on my FYP of Tik Tok/BookTok. I can see why after reading this short story because it was steamy. OH. SO. STEAMY. I will be moving it up my list asap.
Swan Song- Giana Darling
Anything that this author writes is sublime. Regardless of the sub-genre, it becomes one of my favorites because of the special gift that this author has when it comes to writing. She paints a picture. This is particularly true with the Fallen Men series. Discovering that this book was going to be part of this world made me giddy. This story made me a bit sad because not only was it just a short time in this beloved world, but because I only got a taste of Swan and Curtains. This author left me dying to know more because this was just a prequel. I am not sure when these characters will get their story told in the series but I am eager for it. The angst was already forming and I just know that when it is their time for the story to be told that it will tug at my heartstrings.
My Present this Year- Sierra Simone
I was excited for this story because since I first discovered this author with the New Camelot Trilogy, I have been hooked on her words. I wanted this story to be more because it was taboo/forbidden. The premise was enticing but it was odd. For some reason, Nick and Nora just fit into this scenario too perfectly. Don't get me wrong, their steamy time was sexy, but somehow it lacked that spark of tabooness that I have come to associate with this author.
Nine Ladies Dancing- CD Reiss
WHA? I'm scratching my head because I am so confused. I LOVE this author. In fact, she is one of my one-click authors. So, color me surprised at this story. I'm kind of at a loss because it was that far out there. The book started pretty normally, but then things switched up and I had to pause and reread it to see if things were going the direction that they seemed. They were. It went even weirder after that. I had hopes that things would make sense by the end of the story. They did, and then it didn't. Definitely, not my favorite by this author. However, this story might live on in my head for a while so, in some ways, she succeeded at leaving her mark.
Ten Dirty Demands- Laurelin Paige
Donovan... Good Lord do I love this man. He is in my top book boyfriends. There is just something about this man. Getting a chance to dive back into his life with Sabrina? SIGN ME UP. I knew, instantly, once this story started that Donovan was going to bring the sexiness as a sort of repayment for a favor, a favor mind you, that was delicious in itself because it was so very out of character for him. The demands were kinky and titillating. I was a bit sad that the tenth demand was left as a maybe. Especially, as it is so rare to see him be vulnerable, and he so was in that moment. He sincerely wanted it. I hope that the author decides to continue this in the future because I think this would be a great segway into the future for these characters. I don't feel as if their story has finished.
Gift Me- M Malone
This was a pretty cute story. I was impressed by how this author managed to create such a complete story in such a limited amount of pages. It was very Hallmark movie-ish but that was okay because the happily ever after for Deacon and Noelle (great name for a Christmas story).
Twelve Drummers- Angelina Lopez
This story was very different. This is a new to me author so I wasn't sure what to expect. It definitely had some steam but felt a little jarring at times with the transitions. I'm on the fence with the story itself. However, I appreciated the culture that was tied into this story.
All in all, an interesting collection of stories that go towards a great cause.
One Cruel Wedding Night - K.A. Linde
4.5 Stars
Woah. If this isn't the perfect story to read to introduce me to KA Linde's storytelling and writing, then I don't want to know what you think is, because this WAS the perfect story to read to introduce me to KA Linde. In eight chapters alone, she showed me her talent. In eight chapters alone, she delivered the steam I love to see in an enemies-to-lovers story, the chemistry I love to feel between characters who love to hate and hate to love each other; the spark that's brought into the bedroom between these two lovers' haters, and a perfect open-ending that left me craving for more.
One Cruel Wedding Night revolves around Camden Percy and Katherine Van Pelt - the leads of the standalone novel, Cruel Marriage - and here we see them celebrating their wedding night. And what a night it was. I absolutely loved this short story and found it to be the perfect story to kick off this anthology with. It's nothing too long and nothing too heavy; nothing too short and nothing too sweet. It was the perfect blend of sexy and romantic - with memorable lines and vivid descriptions - and is the perfect story to read if you're looking for something short, hot, and oh so filthy. It's also the perfect prequel for Cruel Marriage and has me very excited to dive into and devour that story.
Two Turtle Doves - Skye Warren
Three Stars
Two Turtle Doves wasn't a bad story, but I feel like I would've better enjoyed it had I already knew the characters. You see, this is a bonus story surrounding Gabriel and Avery from The Endgame Trilogy - a trilogy I do have on my TBR but have (clearly) yet to read - and it's a story that follows both as they're celebrating Christmas surrounded by their closest friends and are preparing for the birth of their baby. It was a cute read, and as its three chapters long it was a very easy story to devour. And it was romantic enough (and with enough hints as to what went down for Gabriel and Avery to get to their HEA) to have me pushing this series up on my TBR. But it was definitely a story I felt was primarily written for fans of this series who've wanted that something more from Gabriel and Avery in their happy ever after period, and so it felt like this short story just wasn't for me.
I mean, it was an okay read, but I just wasn't feeling anything for Gabriel and Avery. I'll definitely revisit this story once I've read their trilogy though, and the stories of their friends who made an appearance here. But for now, I'm keeping my rating at three stars, and even though the story didn't hit the mark entirely for me, I just know that fans of this series will love what was delivered here.
Goner - Fiona Cole
Four Stars
Let me start by saying: my Kindle wasn't the only thing that melted whilst reading this story. Damn. I knew to expect steam when it came to a story set in the Voyeur Series - a series that is now on my TBR - but I was not expecting this. Amara and Atlas had C H E M I S T R Y, and boy did my cheeks heat at how Goner played out. Amara works at Voyeur - an elite club that's all about exploring voyeurism in a safe and protected environment - and they're celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas by having its members dress up as the respective days. And Amara, along with two other co-workers, are dressed as the three French hens, and are offering to play out a scene together. Atlas has come in with some friends... and let's just say, he wants one of the hens for himself.
It's M/F, with some F/F and F/F/F scenes. And it. Was. HOT! It is also one hell of an unforgettable read that left me craving for more for Amara and Atlas. I'm not sure if they have more than this short story though, but I'm definitely ready to dive into the rest of the novels of this series and get better acquainted with the Voyeur world.
Four Calling Birds - Nana Malone
4.25 Stars
Okay, so this is the first story of this anthology where I'm not actually familiar with this author at all. BUT NOW I WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT HER! Nana Malone delivered such a surprising and fun story here for Four Calling Birds, so much so that what was supposed to be a "two chapters in the morning/two chapters in the night" kind of read ended up being a "devoured in one sitting" kind of read instead, because I was absolutely hooked with the premise of this story.
Bryna and Lucas are royalty, and love to give back to those in need. But they do so in the form of heists. And in this story, Bryna bumps into a woman in desperate need of help, after an ex refuses to give her back her grandmothers' necklace. Every now and then, Lucas will have an itch to help those in need in a not so legal nor princely way, and so Bryna knows she has found the perfect present to give to Lucas in the form of a Christmas heist. It was a funny story, especially when it came to the 'four calling birds' aspect, and it's an easy story to lose yourself in. The writing and descriptions weren't hitting it for me at all though, and I was going to rate this story lower because of that. But the last chapter ended up taking an unexpected turn that skyrocketed my enjoyment immensely and had me immediately adding Bryna and Lucas's duology to my TBR. So, even though the writing could've been much better, I can't deny that plot wise, this story is so far my favourite of this anthology. It was gripping and fun, and sexy and surprising, and I just absolutely loved it.
Five Golden Rings - Claire Contreras
Three Stars
Look, I was enjoying the heck out of this story at first, what with it being about a musician who doesn't do interviews, and the reporter sent to get an interview out of him. It was promising in the first chapter, and I could not get enough of this story then. But everything just started feeling abrupt and repetitive after that. And throw that into a very short story with an insta-love trope? And you've lost me. Truly, Five Golden Rings had potential to have been a favourite read for me as the premise sounded exactly like my kind of read. But I definitely would've enjoyed it so much more had it been less abrupt, less repetitive, and had it been left with an open ending that let us readers' imaginations run wild at the possibility of what could've happened next for Delilah and Rory. But instead, a HEA is basically shoved down our throat, and it just made this story a cringy one to have read in the end. I still enjoyed it, and it's a short enough and enjoyable enough read that I know if I ever decided to revisit this anthology in the future, this story wouldn't be one I'd skip over. But because of its flaws... it just wasn't a favourite read for me like it could've been, unfortunately.
On the Sixth Day - Nikki Sloane
Five Stars Six Stars
Holy crap. I did not think I'd love this story as much as I did since I went into it knowing nothing about it - I had no idea who it'd be about, and even when we were introduced to the characters, I had no idea who they were since Nikki Sloane is a new to me author. I didn't know what kind of story this would be, and I just all in all did not think, diving in, that I'd love it as much as I did. I didn't think I'd love it enough to rate it five stars only to strike that out and bump it up to six. I didn't think I'd love it enough to then buy the audio of this anthology just to listen to this story again immediately as I went about my busy day. I just... I did not think I'd love On the Sixth Day as much as I did, which just makes me love it even more and now has me dying to know more about Clay, Travis, and Lilith.
They're in a throuple relationship that, going off of how this story begins, seems to still be a bit of a new and developing one. Clay and Travis love Lilith, and Lilith loves Clay and Travis - her boyfriends' and her Dom's - and all that they bring to the relationship. But whilst Travis and Clay have a love for one another too, they've only ever expressed that love in the emotional sense. Now though, with their relationship progressing, they want to start expressing that love in the physical sense too...
MFM and with some exploration of MM(F), On the Sixth Day is, hands down, the best story of this anthology. I gasped, I squealed, and I screamed in absolute delight at the C H E M I S T R Y between all three characters, and I was left wanting to know everything about them and their relationship by the time I reached the very last page. I've since added The Architect - Clay, Travis, and Lilith's full-length novel - to my TBR, and I'm so excited to get to it hopefully sometime this year.
Swan Song - Giana Darling
3.5 Stars
Diving into this anthology, I was so excited to read two stories in particular - Swan Song being one of them. I'm a HUGE Fallen MC fan (which this short story is tied to), and I've been dying to know more about every character in it... our red-headed hacker, Curtains, included. So, diving into this story that's all about him and how it is he met the love of his life and the Fallen MC all in one night? Oh, I was more than here for it; I was ready and counting down the stories until I finally got to it! And I don't know what happened, but there was just something missing for me. Swan Song is the story of Finnegan Ramsey - also knows as Curtains; also known as R3d W4rr10r - and here we follow him as he's investigating his mother's death after her case becomes a closed one by the cops. He wants answers and will do anything to get them, so when one of the best hackers in the world, 0bs1d1an Sw4n - makes contact and claims to have the answers Finnegan is looking for, he can't turn away even though he knows that it'll be nothing but trouble getting involved with this mystery hacker.
Now, I devoured this story but didn't find it to be that memorable. I connected with the characters and was hooked to the plot, but rather than having it play out in my mind like watching it in real life, I felt that boredom of simply reading words on paper. It was a good read that has me very excited to know more about Finnegan, 0bs1d1an Sw4n, and Aaron, and what'll happen next for all three as this story did end with an open ending. But for me... it was missing something. I may reread Swan Song someday, maybe soon, to see if this feeling was a one-off, but for now... it is what it is.
My Present This Year - Sierra Simone
3.75 Stars
I enjoyed this story immensely at first, and it was such a grippingly easy read to devour in a short amount of time - a proper "one sitting" story - that I did not put it down again from the moment I picked it up. My Present This Year is a step-sibling romance that follows Nick and Nora as both are spending the Christmas together whilst their parents are away on a cruise. Nick thought he'd be spending it alone, but with Nora deciding to stay, it throws a spanner in his work to avoid the step-sibling he's been craving to make his for the past three years; the step-sibling who wants Nick in return and is done waiting for him to take her. It was hot and so descriptively vivid that I could see this story so clearly in my mind. What lessened my enjoyment is how far the step-sibling kink went.
I'm all for step-sibling romances where they don't class each other as step-siblings; they never have, and they never will thanks to meeting at an older age and never really spending any time together (which is what happens with Nick and Nora). What I'm not a fan of, is the step-siblings making their relationship sexual whilst still wanting to maintain their step-sibling relationship. It's not my cup of tea, and it just dimmed my enjoyment. I loved the writing though, and the descriptiveness to the scenes were truly stunning, hence my 3.75 Star rating. But the plot just wasn't it for me.
Nine Ladies Dancing - CD Reiss
2.5 Stars
I was expecting to hate Nine Ladies Dancing as much as everyone else seems to have, because the reviews for this story... they weren't good. And whilst this read is definitely my least favourite of this anthology, I can't deny that there were aspects of it I enjoyed. Mainly, I enjoyed the fact that this story reminded me of the show: Love, Death and Robots. And I think that's what had me devouring this story in one sitting. I didn't feel like I was reading a story in a romance anthology. I felt like I was watching a weird, mind-bending episode of a show that will forever confuse me and should have this story as an episode. It's about humans and bots, and a man needing to go through an "initiation" to win the hand of the love of his life. It was poorly written, and had a very, very slow yet sudden start, which is why I rated it so low - along with the plot that could've been better set - but otherwise... it read like an episode of a tv show that I enjoy, so I'll be honest: I did like it.
Ten Dirty Demands - Laurelin Paige
Five Stars
Ten Dirty Demands is the dirty short story I was praying for, especially for a short story surrounding Donovan Kincaid and Sabrina Lind of the Dirty Filthy Rich Duet. And here we follow them as for their annual Christmas party, Donovan reluctantly agrees to dress as Santa as a favour to Sabrina... but only on the condition that over the course of the night, when he demands ten dirty demands from her, she must deliver them. And oh boy... were they dirty. And oh boy... did Sabrina deliver.
Now, I went into this story having missed Donovan and Sabrina, and (not so surprisingly) I came out of reading it just dying to get my hands on their upcoming new novel, Kincaid. I was expecting for my heart to race (which I got), and to even laugh out loud at Donovan's inner musings (he's a very funny guy). But what I wasn't expecting was that ending - an ending that absolutely melted my heart yet made me want to cry at the very same time. It took a turn I was not expecting from Donovan - a vulnerability that we've never gotten to see from him before - and now I'm just craving for more. I want to hug him, and hold him tight, and deliver that final demand that Sabrina surprisingly couldn't. Guess I'll just have to wait until Kincaid releases to see how that plays out next, and I'm praying that Laurelin delivers what it is I want her to deliver for my man Donovan. And Sabrina, too.
And what I hope she'll deliver for them is that tenth and final demand.
Gift Me - M. Malone
3.75 Stars
Gift Me was the kind of story I didn't know I'd been craving to read recently, until I read it. It was something fun and flirty, and light-hearted and sexy, and something so adorable I was melting as I devoured Noelle and Deacon's festive love story and watched with such humour as both were being forced to interact with each other when gifts meant for Noelle kept getting "accidentally" delivered to Deacon's door. It was hilarious watching these two clueless souls with major crushes on each other not know what to do when gift after gift forces them to start interacting daily, especially after they've spent so long avoiding one another. And it just put the biggest of smiles on my face watching their relationship progress from neighbours to lovers, and in the most amazing and sexy of ways.
The writing did feel choppy as the story progressed, and with some scenes just chopping by rather than flowing like a story should, which is a shame because it ruined my favourite scene of this story. But other than that, Gift Me was an amazing read, and that smile on my face only ever got bigger and bigger at the chemistry and interactions between Noelle and Deacon. This is definitely a story I'll be revisiting in the future, and I'll definitely be giving M. Malone's backlist a go. And if there's a story about Aaron out there, let a girl know because I'd read a book about him in a heartbeat.
Twelve Drummers - Angelina M. Lopez
4.25 Stars
I feel like a need a cigarette, and a bath in holy water after reading this story. Oh... My... GOD! Twelve Drummers has left me speechless. I was not expecting this story to play out the way it did, and I'm pretty sure I devoured the entire thing with my jaw dropped to the floor. It's a quick story to read with some paranormal elements to it, and it gripped me in from the get-go as we watch Anna - who goes by Sabrina- abandon her plans of robbing the museum she works at, to save an artefact calling to her so she can help a God be reborn so the sun can rise again. And with the help of her crush, security guard Ruan Carlos, she goes through the initiation process with the ten drummers to her and Ruan's twelve, of making that possible.
Now as exciting as I've (probably) made this plot sound, I will say that its actually just one giant orgy fest that had me blushing as red as the cover of this book. Usually, a story like this would not be my cup of tea, and I'd be bored out of my mind reading a sex scene that lasted 14 pages. But Angelina M. Lopez wrote it so... beautifully, nothing could've made me put it down. And what really kept me hooked was the history to this story, the lively culture, and the journey in bringing this God to life. It was definitely unexpected, but also the perfect story to end this anthology with. And I enjoyed this authors writing so much that I'll definitely be checking out her earlier novels and giving them a go.
Twelve extremely talented and amazing authors put their own spin on the twelve days of Christmas and Twelve Naughty Days is here. It was a dazzling combination of festive mood, holiday cheers, dirty times and sweet emotions. A not to be missed anthology for sure.
My favourite from the collection was Ten Dirty Demands by Laurelin Paige. Billionaire business tycoon Donovan Kincaid makes ten dirty demands when his wife and Soulmate Sabrina makes him dress as Santa Claus for the office Christmas party. You can trust Donovan to bring out his c0cky, arrogant, kinky, bossy and controlling charm while Sabrina showed who is the real boss, as always. I loved revisiting them as Donovan is on top of my all time favourite book boyfriends.
My next favourite was Swan Song by Giana Darling. It's set in the time preceding Fallen Men MC series and it shows how Finnegan Ramsay aka Curtains met his Soulmate while trying to find evidence for his mother's murder. Set in the world of hacker and dark web, it was fast paced and super intriguing. They were young and reckless and dangerous. And finally explosive together.
You can trust Sierra Simone to bring the poetic depravity in a forbideen romance and My Present This Year was absolutely breathtaking. When psychologist Nick Mumford returns from his Peace Corps mission, he thought he would be spending the Christmas alone relaxing at home. But when he arrives, he comes face to face with his nightmare. His gorgeous and intelligent and sassy stepsister Nora. And the attraction is not one sided at all. Taboo. Filthy. Sexy. It was everything you can expect from Sierra Simone.
Goner by Fiona Cole was hotness overload. Set in her iconic Voyeur world, this story was all about someone's wildest fantasy coming true. When Atlas visits the exclusive sex club with his friends, he is instantly attracted to Amara, the bartender aka a performer who does this just because she loves the sex. He has to convince her to spend the night with him as the connection is electric and irresistible. It was so sinful and depraved and be ready to blush profusely.
Many authors wrote bonus novellas about the couples appearing in their previous books. Like One Cruel Wedding Night by KA Linde featuring Camden Percy and Katherine Van Pelt from Cruel Marriage. Or Gabriel and Avery from the Endgame series featuring in Two Turtle Doves by Skye Warren. Nana Malone's Four Calling Birds was a witty and sexy and action packed novella about Bryna and her husband Prince Lucas Winston. On Sixth Day by Nikki Sloane was a sizzling hot MMF novella about her throuple from The Architect.
This collection also features Five Golden Rings by Claire Contreras ( a sexy instalove celebrity romance), Gift Me by M. Malone( a swoony and sultry neighbours to lovers romance), Nine Ladies Dancing by CD Reiss( a futuristic romance with twists) and Twelve Drummers by Angelina M. Lopez ( a dark interpretation of Mexican traditions closely aligned with Christmas).
I absolutely loved this anthology. These authors did a great job putting a twist on the 12 Days of Christmas. What a great read this anthology turned out to be. The 12 authors came together to give us readers a different and very special take on the 12 Days of Christmas. Some of the stories were more holiday-ish than others, but more than anything the stories were quick, fun, and did I mention steamy. Plus, we were able to catch up with some of our favorite characters from prior stories by these authors, as well be introduced to new ones.
I esp loved Nana Malone’s take on 4 Calling Birds portion of the song/story. 4 Calling Birds focused on Bryna and Prince Lucas of the Winston Isles, and Bryna’s gift to Lucas. Bryna knowing Lucas’ struggle with him actually being a Prince and coming from his prior life as a thief decides to give him a gift that will allow him to use his skills from his former life, which he uses in a Robinhood capacity these days. However, unbeknownst to Bryna things go awry and the calling birds show up while they are in the midst of trying to receive the goods. Let me just say the story really takes an extremely unexpected turn at that point and continues to do so until the end. You will laugh until you cry reading 4 Calling Birds.
CD REISS's story Nine Ladies Dancing is the most deviously twisted and delicious take on the 12 Days of Christmas! HOLY SMOKES!! Was that even a Christmaa story that I just read?!! In Nine Ladies Dancing Brian is attempting to ask to marry Gillian "Gilly" Bardot, but not all is as it seems. Oh, how I loved the steam and mind bending of this one. Yet another superbly written story by CD REISS.
M. Malone's story Gift Me was the cutest story. M. Malone truly knows how to give her readers all of the sweetness of the Season. Noelle and Deacon's story delivers on the Christmas magic and romance. Who is sending Noelle all of those gifts? Of course Noelle hopes it is Deacon the man of her dreams.
I reviewed the stories by Giana Darling and Skye Warren.
Swan Song By Giana Darling.
Finnegan lost his mom a year ago and since then he has been searching for answers. This in turn leads him to the dark web and his one and only friend. Throughout his journey has has found himself on the radar of the Obsidian Swan and the time has come that she wants something from him. I should also mention that this is a person who has secrets spilling all over the place. This is a story of hacking your way to justice and it is one amazing read that will keep you on the edge of your seats. I loved every single second of it.
Two Turtle Doves by Skye Warren
This is a story that if you read Skye Warren will will take you on a trip down memory lane and catching up with some of your favorite old friends. I love when we get to see previous characters again and spend some time with them. Gabriel and Avery are expecting a big surprise and it will make them a family of four. If you think you loved them before then you are really really going to love them as parents.
