After nine college students are trapped under a collapsed building for 14 days, only six come out alive, and only four of them can speak. The dead bodies of their fellow students are viciously mangled, leading police to investigate the case as a possible homicide. Detective Lieutenants Jeongdo Kwon and Yeongchae Shin, together with renowned neuropsychiatrist Dr. Yeongwha Ju, must parse through witness testimony and inconclusive physical evidence to uncover the truth. But how do you solve a locked-room murder case when every witness is a suspect?
This webtoon is just beyond mind-blowing. The mystery as well as the circumstances about the murder case are very well written and the writing has you on edge every chapter
This is a webtoon about 9 college students who ended up trapped underground for 14 days. When they finally got rescued, 3 of them had been violently killed and we follow the detectives who investigate what happened. I was completely addicted for the first 40 chapters. There was a twist every chapter and I was just completely hooked. However, after that, what happened became clearer and clearer and so you see coming the reveals which follow from miles away. It was still interesting but quite predictable and it hindered my enjoyment. This webtoon is nearly finished (still around 10 chapters left I'd say.) so maybe there will be some amazing plot twist at the end but I think the answers we got so far are what really happened (and they're not bad answers, far from it, just a bit predictable).
An enjoyable murder mystery with (some) loveable characters and really creepy art panels. This comic creates atmosphere very well and occasionally includes music in episodes. The art is mature and is very subtle at times and I found myself scanning each panel for clues. It works very well on the weekly model so you can't binge it- half the fun is chewing over an episode with other people. There are a few small loose ends but there are spinoffs I've yet to read that will hopefully have the answers. I really enjoyed this series.
I can't say much without spoiling it other than to say this story is different in the genre by the way it uses backstories. Normally they are used as clues for who did what or for motivation but this story uses it to create more mysteries and it is great!
4.75 Wanted it to be a 5 star really bad but the actual plot twist was a bit predictable albeit realistic. The overall story is done so amazingly well that I can't give it less than 4.75. Like this one actually gives you the heebie-jeebies especially if you read it at night (which was quite often in my case)
one of the most thrilling premises i’ve ever read. this webtoon was not good for my paranoia because i was left with the utmost fear of what i would do if i was stuck in the dark in a collapsed building for fourteen days. that too with murders happening? no wonder i couldn’t sleep at night after this.
first fifty chapters-ish were some of the best work i’ve seen from any webtoon ever. the secrets and mystery that was unraveling was so fascinating.
however, after that, it sort of lost the mark. the choice of how to wrap up the killer was… a choice indeed. i really wanted the deaths to have so much more meaning than they did. the only good thing i can comment on for the ending is that dr. ju’s psyche and character was explored a lot more and i loved seeing what actually happened on the mountain.
it was a story about what happens when someone lives through life completely fine but finds themselves behaving in a way they never imagined when they’re put in a situation that triggers them. i enjoyed the reflection on that sentiment and did think it held weight, but otherwise, the ending was lacking.
.
spoiler thoughts ahead.
i wish more than anything that the deaths and murders had actually been motivated by character dynamics and secrets revealed in the situation, rather than hinging on one person just deciding to kill them because of no other reason but… mental illness.
i’m already not a fan of mental illnesses being plot twists and i think they really have to be done appropriately to not feed into a harmful rhetoric. this webtoon fell in between. it was respectful at times and tried to humanize the killer, whereas other times… he basically only killed because his hereditary mental illness was “activated” in those circumstances. i can imagine readers leaving this webtoon feeling on edge of people with any mental illness, thinking they could turn into killers at any moment. truly, what was the point?
the pay off would’ve been much better if the writer actually weaved a story together to explain why three people were eliminated. maybe people worked together. maybe there was compromising evidence or secrets. NOT this person triggered someones OCD so they decided to kill them because they had nothing to do.
it really made no sense and i’m upset. had the makings of such a good thriller, ended up as your generic mystery ending with just a plot twist hinging on mental health.
A mystery WEBTOON about nine college students who are trapped under a fallen building for two weeks, where only six make it out alive. Three are murdered.
Firstly, the mystery was intriguing and compelling, especially because we couldn't trust any of the witnesses. The plot twists genuinely caught me off-guard.
The art is also really clean and conveys the atmosphere well.
The outside plotline with the detectives and the psychologist felt unnecessary. I am still confused on what it was supposed to do for the story. When I was reading those sections, I wished they would end quickly so I could get back to the mystery plotline with the students.
The mental health representation is alright. I'm not entirely familiar with the condition has, but reading the author's note afterward, it seems as though she possesses a lot of empathy for suffering individuals. The backstory felt really heavy-handed, and the characterization felt too convenient.
MIND-BLOWING!!!! Every chapter kept me at the edge guessing. I have qualms about certain aspects of it, I wish the author chose a different route. Nevertheless, the suspense alone makes me give this 5 stars.
It's been a while since I compulsively devoured a webcomic like this! I love closed-circle murder mysteries and Chasing Tails absolutely delivered!
What often happens in these kinds of mysteries, however, is that, in an effort to make them easily distinguishable from each other, the suspects are reduced to caricatures or only have one definable trait. Thankfully, this is not the case here. The characters are layered and nuanced, whilst still distinct from one another. (The character list at the end of each episode definitely helped though!) I also enjoyed the exploration of how different people would respond in a survival scenario like that, including how your worst side can manifest even if you're not necessarily a bad person.
The mystery had me hooked from the beginning. The author left the perfect balance of clues and red herrings for readers to piece things together. I loved reading all the theories in the comments, as well as coming up with my own, and going back to previous chapters to see what I'd missed. Honestly, the attention to detail is just:👌😫🔥. I enjoyed both the flashbacks and the police-work, which came as a surprise because I normally only care about either-or. The story also has just the right amount of twists. Initially, I was going to rate this four stars because I thought the murderer was revealed a bit too early and that there weren't enough twists (haha) but upon finishing, I think it's much better this way. The pacing is excellent and the denouement is well-handled to avoid a rushed or unsatisfactory ending.
After reading the afterword, I especially appreciate how much time and research the author put into this. With regards to the trope, I think that the However, others may disagree.
Overall, I love how this sucked me in and spat me out. It's intriguing, thrilling and still emotional. I could go on and on but the words won't do it enough justice.
I actually really enjoyed this! I'm not much of a horror/thriller reader, but I'm glad I read this!
Chasing Tails was a truly compelling and well thought out webtoon. I was on the edge the entire time, wondering who the murderer was.
The spin offs were also quite interesting, and I really enjoyed them. Given the ending (no spoilers), I appreciate having these spin offs. Often when I get into a really interesting story, I don't always feel "closure," not in the sense that the story wasn't closed, but more in the sense that I didn't want it to end. It was no different with CT, but the spin offs really helped me to get that sense of closure.
If you're into thrillers or you liked Sadie, I really think you'll enjoy this. There are a handful of TW/CWs, so if you're concerned, drop a comment or PM me!
I may be back sometime later with a more in depth review, but I also may not lol. Until then, happy reading!

I'm giving it a 5 stars because it WAS that good. It deserves even more. Really worth spending coins on it. Hope they release a physical copy.
I didn't know I'd get this addicted to this series. Though it's been almost 2 years I don't mind waiting for so long. It was worth it. I actually thought the main villain (the alive one) was actually good. I was so sure about it. But I'm satisfied with the plot. It's just so perfect . I feel like recommending this book to everyone and I will.
The plot revolves around the detectives, their advisor doctor and the survivors. While reading, it went back and forth a lot. As the detectives solves the mystery behind the murders one by one we see more of what happened that time when the students were stuck inside the building. All of them had something to hide and as the story progressed I found myself pointing fingers at all of them. Including the doctor. Everyone involved in this case seemed suspicious.
The plot twist was really good. It left me speechless. I could actually guess a little bit by myself but I thought it's just the readers intuition. [[Spoiler: This one reader had this whole theory written in the comments too.]]
The ending had me wanting more and I'm really excited for the second series. I'm really thankful to the author.
I was really expecting it to be paranormal at one point. It's not. It's a psychological thriller.
I was reading it for the Mystery. But the horror elements made me have nightmares. I couldn't sleep many nights. The art was really creepy. Loved it!
not going to make a habit of tracking webtoons but this one still makes me so mad that i feel the need to comment on it 2 years later lol. genuinely some of the best thriller/horror i’ve ever read for the first 60 or so chapters UNTIL it absolutely loses the plot. making the doctor (who i did not care about) the focus over the survivors was definitely a choice, but the even more questionable choice was the killer’s eventual revealed motive which felt not only icky and ableist but incredibly predictable. lazy writing and a lazy story crutch which truly baffles me because the first half of the story was expertly crafted and set up potential plots that could’ve been way more terrifying.
I've been reading through this since it started, and it came to it's long awaited conclusion this week!
Although the answer to who killed the 3 students was answered well before the ending, the build up to who it was and then the how's and why's were very interesting to read through. So many episodes had me on the edge of my seat and spending coins just to read the next episode a week faster!
I'd love to have this as a physical copy someday to read though all in one sitting, and I'd definitely reccomend to anyone who loves a good horror mystery!

Draggy at certain parts but overall pacing is good! Quite literally the most perfect, intriguing and enjoyable webtoon I’ve ever read. I would kill myself to read this webtoon and experience the exact feelings all over again. The suspense, the mystery, the characters—everything is perfect. It toyed with my emotions well. Props to the author for her first thriller debut! I devoured Chasing Tails and would follow the author closely for her upcoming works 😊
Thank you for creating such a masterpiece, author-nim!
Normally don't log comics on here but thankfully this one isn't split into a million volumes. THIS WAS SO SCARY AND INTERESTING AND GOOD AND SCARY. Nightmare fuel. Wrapped up nicely, great epilogues, flushed out characters, art was equally as frightening as the story. I couldn't take a break and read until 3:30 AM during the most mysterious part. Such a good setting for a horror story! And some people may not like the family aspect but I actually didn't mind since it was hinted throughout the story, didn't feel forced at all. Read this in the dark for extra fear...
This is one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. It keeps you focused on the case, while exploring the several subplots. It was definitely a long since I couldn’t wait the next week with trepidation, looking for the release of the new chapter. I totally recommend this manwha to everyone who’s looking for a passionate mystery story able to give you chills, make you get passionate with its characters, and very intriguing. Hope I’ll be able to find something as good as this series sooner or later. Can’t wait for the next work from this author.
This is the BEST mistery I've read in a long time. I'm completely and absolutely in LOVE with it. The way it traps you and you cannot stop reading, the fact that, even when you're not reading you keep on trying to figure out what is the answer, how it can be resolved. It's just so satisfying and the ending was superb. All the wrong theories that went through my mind as the story progressed; the time when I actually figure out who was the guilty one... I've loved it all.
By far the best mystery webtoon I’ve ever read! I like how the author switched from present to flashbacks because it felt like I was also with the survivors trying to figure out what really happened. By chapter 30 something, I already had a hunch on who the killer might be (I was right) but it didn’t kill my interest to continue reading, that’s how good it is! I’m hoping that this will be adapted to a show.
2 years of incredible webcomic storyline! It was intense, stressful, heartbreaking and beautifully written and illustrated. What a lovely ride it was. I hope we get a second season, but the ending was great. We got resolve for everything and I feel satisfied by it!
This webtoon is… a lot of things, confusing, interesting and mind blowing. Things did not go the way I expected them to. The characters were extremely well written and really human like. My only issue is that I wish we had more answers.
well-researched webtoon that kept the plot moving !!! i also loved the characters and how the storyline kept me on my toes. overall, i enjoyed reading this webtoon, every dialogue and character reveal; especially as someone who loves murder and mystery works! ♡.♡
I recommend this series to anyone who loves a “locked in the same room as the serial killer” mystery. However, this one is a nice change of pace that leaves the reader wanting more. The author did an amazing job weaving this tale.
I was glued to my phone during these 4 days reading this. The story was so well made and the mystery was mystering at one point you were suspecting everyone and then you were suspecting no one. Bashi I kiss your feet and I will honestly read whatever you write.
