I’m in love with my best friend—and he has no idea.
Our parents have been best friends since before we were born. We were in diapers together, bathed together, were in the same classes from pre-school to high school. Now we’re adults living on campus and I focus on features I didn’t notice before. Like how big his arms are. The way his handsome face hardens when he concentrates. His sexy smile. The way every girl stares when he passes. Now that attraction has turned into something deeper, an ache in my chest.
When I finally confess my secret to my friend Trinity, she tells her own secret—that Cayson used to feel the same way. But that was months ago, and because I had a boyfriend, he moved on. I decide to tell him the truth in the hope his feelings are still alive, but then I meet Jasmine…his new girlfriend. Now I’m utterly in love with a man that was in love with me, but I missed my chance. I have to hang out with them as a couple and smile when I’m dying inside. I have to get to know her when I want nothing to do with her. And then Cayson, who knows me better than anyone, knows something’s bothering me.
He respected my relationship and kept his feelings to himself. But I’m not sure I can do the same.

So I only made it up to chapter 4 of the first book when I decided I had to check some reviews. Upon seeing the stories do not get completed...IN SEVEN BOOKS...I bowed out. My issues are as follows; 1. Too many characters introduced quickly with no real explanation of who they are in the dynamic. Seems they're all "cousins" which....is a lil gross 2. They're all in college, HARVARD to be exact, but act like frat bros. 3. Cayson feels like half a person. He seems more like an AI with his seeming lack of emotion. I actually was wondering if he's on the spectrum, which would be quite awesome, if it was explained that way. Otherwise, he's just a poorly depicted character. 4. I already picked up that Trinity and Slade are sleeping together and just fighting like crazy so no one notices....bit too in your face and a cliché. Plus....COUSINS!!!! 5. Finally, this feels like it was written by a high school student. Not saying the writings bad, per say, but it feels as if the author is writing a story about feelings and situations not yet experienced. A great author can make that really work! But unfortunately, that isn't what's happened here. The story so far lacks depth, lacks background, and seriously lacks getting into the nitty gritty of the characters, both their emotions and their personalities.
In summary, I just couldn't connect with this story or the characters. I can see the potential, but it needs a lot of work to round it out. However, knowing that in SEVEN books, not one story gets completed....yikes. I like book series, but I cannot abide by an author stringing out two love stories for this long.
I was looking forward to reading the story of Skye and Cayson. When other characters were introduced, I thought the other books in the boxed set would be about them. Not so. Everybody's story ran through all books of the set. Book seven ended without completing anyone's story. Turns out there are five more boxed sets to this series. Now I'm not so sure I want to find out how Skye and Carson's story ends. I have nothing against boxed sets and I would have read the other character's stories too. They would have been more enjoyable as separate books.
I thought these would be a fun read but I struggled so hard. I made it through the first book and about 5 chapters into the second book. So slow and very weirdly written.
LET ME JUST TELL YOU. I have read HUNDREDS of books, however, the story and plot line and the attachment in these books is unlike no other. The forever and ever series might be one of my favorite series. Yes there are 51 books( keep in mind they are short books so it’s a little easier) BUT I LOVED THESE BOOKS. You develop an attachment to the characters, and they become your friends. I would be reading these books and acting as if I knew them personally. They are all HEA, but it’s funny sad exciting and wild all in one. I don’t think I’ll ever be attached to another series like this one.
I did like the storyline with all the friends. I didn't know that the series is more like a very long saga. After reading the first two books, I'm left with a long dread because the couples's stories don't feel like they have an ending in each book. From what I've read from others, their stories just keep going and going. Then I realized that this series has 7 boxed sets with 7 books in each one. As much as I would love to find out about everyone's stories, I'm not sure it's worth all that time to not get to the end. So, unfortunately, I've decided to quit while I'm ahead and not get too into the series. It's just too much of a commitment with no guarantee I'll be satisfied in the end....whenever that is.
I thought each book would be separate, but felt like it was one long, never-ending book. I decided to stop reading shortly after starting the "second" book. It didn't keep me engaged enough. Not bad...just didn't want to commit the time to it.
I love the story of skye and cayson also trinity and slade but I finish the box set, and it makes me mad that none of the characters has ending story specially skyE, Cayson, Trinity and Slade story. And every character should be in different book I. I finished 1-7 and leave hanging with the ending
Slade and Trinity’s relationship seems more stable than Skye and Cayson in some ways. Slade and Trinity made themselves meant to be. They worked hard at their relationship to be each other’s other half. They taught each other what it meant to be together. Skye and Cayson had always been each others soul mates. They were always meant to be. I love that about them. They were best friends first and that makes a huge difference. They had an ease with each other that others didn’t. I feel like their relationship is similar to scarlet and Sean. Scarlet and Sean had their problems in the beginning of their relationship when they were young too. However, it made them stronger. Now, they are the perfect couple, the couple everyone looks up to. With Skye and Cayson, Their whole lives, everyone knew they were meant to be together. They have that type of love that only comes once and a while. The kind of love, many people never get to see, much less experience. There’s something about their relationship that I love more than any of the other relationships in the books. It’s that true, pure, meant to be type of love that everyone hopes to have. Their relationship hasn’t been easy, but it’s because of their selflessness and strength that caused them problems. Never a bad thing. Their passionate about what they love and they support each other no matter what, even if it hurts themselves. In my opinion, That’s what true love is about.
I wish there was more books. I don’t know if E.L. Todd is finished writing this series but I sincerely hope not. I really want to read more about Skye and Cayson. One complaint I have is that I wish more of the story centred around skye and Cayson. I didn’t care as much about the other characters. I liked trinity and Slade’s story. I think it was important to have the parents stories and I like Roland’s story. Everyone’s was kind unnecessary. I would’ve preferred that 80% of the story focused on skye and Cayson and Slade and trinity. I hope there’s more to come and we get to see skye and Cayson raise their kids together.

I have read all 51 books in the Forever and Ever series. Here are some pros and cons to the series: PROS - I really liked the first-person voice of so many different characters. I never read a book with so many first-person characters and I read a lot of books. - Slade's character development was the best in the series. He is also so very funny.
CONS -The series could use a good editor. ---A lot of useless, boring dialogue could be cut. ---Some storylines start and then stop. Characters are introduced and then randomly not heard from again. For example: ----Thomas- His girlfriend's husband was killed, and we never heard from Thomas again. -----Theo - had a great storyline in college, then moved in with Conrad, opened a business with Conrad, and then basically disappeared. We hardly ever heard from him again. We didn't even get to experience the downfall of his relationship with Alex. We didn't really get to experience the growth of his relationship with Dee. What happened to him and Conrad owning the studio together? And what happened with his relationship with his brother? ---Timelines are off. The length of time was not consistent in some storylines. --- I hated how Roland's story was written or rather not written. I LOVED that Roland ended up being gay. I loved that the author added a gay character to the mix and all the turmoil it caused him as he realized and came out. But I hate that we didn't get to experience his blooming love story with Heath. As soon as anything sexy was starting with them, the author cut off the chapter or the scene. Every other character had their love story told in detail, but not Roland. --- There was a lot of repeat of dialogue. --- The sex scenes became boring after a while because it was the same thing over and over with all of the characters. It got to the point where I actually started skimming over it because it was so repetitive.
Never have I read a multiple story romance book so well rounded.
I LOVE that their stories continued even after they got together. I feel like after the couple gets together, we never learn anything more about them. But here, their story continues.
Todd addresses so many different topics, such as: being independent or dependent, loyal or in loyal, worth or unworthy, and most of all acceptance.
I cannot say how much I love this story line and cannot wait to keep reading!!
If you're willing to invest the time is just an ok read
While the stories themselves were decent it was tiring how the author dragged it out. Plus there were so many stories going on at once you had to pay close attention to whose chapter you were in. It got to the point that I only looked for chapters regarding Skye and Cayson or Trinity and Slade. As it is their stories still weren't tied up. Even with KU unsure if I want to continue.
Forever is as long time. 21-22 year olds educated at prominent university but unable to think of anything but sex and whatever. The main story was heart rendering because both of those involved had no idea what life is really about. The other stories were good girls bad boy connections. Good reading for your young adults but I have lived a long time and I cringed the more I read.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this series of books from the first book to the last. It bought back so many memories of my younger years, but still I had to insert some "huh's and " what's here and there. And there were parts where I laughed my head off. It's such a fun and enjoyable series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a seriously funny story. Looking for to reading the next book in the series.
Usually when I start a book set, it takes me a while to finish because the story gets slow. Not with these books!! I love the multiple points of view. By the end of book 7, you pretty much know all the characters. Yes book 7 kinda ends on a cliffhanger but it's not that bad. All the characters grew up together & are in college at Harvard. I kinda wonder if their thoughts are really what college age kids think. It's a great series & I'm ready to read more!
I loved the way the individual characters were all so deeply involved with each other, yet remained in their own lives..How the author managed to do this and keep long connection of a great story together I'll never know but it made for a fantastic, enthralling read.Look forward too reading more of this writing, it was GREAT.Agnes Gray.Fife.Scotland.10 out of 10.
It starts out good and then it’s constant drama. I get the spots and arguing that’s normal relationship but the overall constant everybody has to have drama I’m worried that this is what the world is. I got to the point to where I only was reading Skye and Cayse and Trinity and Slade the rest of it was drama.
I loved this series , am looking forward to the next part. Can hardley put. the books down before I can start the next one. Haven't enjoyed a series this .much sense I was a kid and reading my moms serum of The Litte Curnel , which I still have and read to my kids and grand kids.
.This is the 4th time I've started this series. I love watching everyone grow and progress from immature college students into adults. It's one of my favorite series
The families are really well written. But there are some grammar mistakes throughout that writing especially with verbs ie: using on accident when accidentally is proper, using grinded when ground is the proper word.
I could hardly put this book down. Carried it with me wherever I went so that I could keep reading. Every couple was a story within a story. Starting book 2 right away.
I have enjoyed reading this Box Set, every story is intertwined because it’s a family thing. Just like a normal family Love, Hate and Acceptance. I can recommend reading this first Box Set written by E. L. Todd.
You'll want to know more about the character's and their intertwined lives, so much so you can forgive the repetitive words and phrases, which the book tends to do in parts, a minor criticism for an otherwise great story.
This book is beyond great and detailed. I love how through books 1-5 was about skye, cayson, slade and trinity. then conrad, silke and Theo had their chapters ... But it book 7 there is a cliff hanger I was not prepared for . So gonna downloaded the next lot now .
Absolutely loved the fierce ness that these characters love! The characters all have a uniqueness to them. They play hard but love harder! In to book eight!
