✅ 2 POVs
✅ Demons, witches, shifters, and faes
✅ Addictive
✅ Characters
✅ Politics and scheming
✅ Plot
✅ Pace
✅ “Avengers Assemble” moment
✅ Amnesia trope, but it is well done
❗️❗️Trigger warnings: death of loved ones, mild torture, blood, and some gore

After being betrayed, Danica is stuck in the Underworld, without access to her powers or memories.

This book is full of deceit and scheming. Danica does not know who to trust in the Underworld, and she also wants to take advantage of her time there to try to secretly convince some demons to join Samael’s cause. She needs to be very careful, though, because being caught scheming against Lucifer means death for all parties involved. On Earth, Samael has to deal with the witches, the Seelie King and the Unseelie King, and all the politics that come with them. He is hoping to rally a united front to fight against Lucifer but quickly discovers that it is not that easy and that some people are eager to see him fail.

There is a memory loss trope in this book, but the author did a great job with it. I am not usually a fan of the amnesia trope, but in this book, it was not dragged on for too long, and it did not take the spotlight away from the main plot and the big mission to vanquish Lucifer.

The big showdown at the end of the book felt epic. It had this “Avengers, assemble” vibe that made me smile all alone in my bed while I was reading. It is not too long, but detailed enough for us to be able to imagine what it was like and feel anxious about the outcome for the characters we came to love.

One thing that I found a little less believable is how (relatively) easy it was for Danica to snoop around. Sure, she had her magical way of disappearing, but still. All it would have taken was for Lucifer to post guards right in front of her door so they could see if the doors opened, instead of just having them monitor the hallways and allowing Danica to roam the castle. He got angry when he found out that she was snooping around, but did not try that hard to figure out how she did it, or how he could stop her from doing it again, and that seems out of character for Lucifer. I know some of it was voluntary because it allowed him to spy on Danica, but not all of it was, and she managed to cause a lot of problems for him because she was not properly guarded.

This is a great paranormal series that I recommend to any reader looking for their next magical adventure with a sassy bounty hunter, a sexy and powerful demon, and a found family vibe. The plot and the pace are good and consistent in each book, the writing is smooth, and it is so easy to get invested in these characters’ lives and read the whole series in only a few days! It was a good and addictive adventure.

The main adventure is over for Danica and Samael, but the last book follows Vas, so I will read it for sure. I am also hoping to know in this last book how Samael and Danica will deal with the Seelie King and his scheming... I know there is also a spinoff series about Evie, and while I might not be her biggest fan, I am intrigued by Nathaniel, so I will also read the spinoff, if only to get more of him and his strong alpha vibe. Also, I would not be opposed to a spinoff about Kyla and her deal with Finvarra… Something was going on there…

I love this series! This is one of the best series I've read all year. This will probably be in the Top 5 of the best books I've had the pleasure of reading this year. From now on I'll probably read anything and everything this author releases. Yes, I've been indoctrinated. No, I don't need saving ♡

Danica was a bad*ss. She did everything she could to save herself and her people. The tragedies that happened along the way still hit very deeply.

Samael was his typical dangerous self throughout this story. I loved how Danica was always his top priority. If she was harmed the world would go down with her. It's psychotic in the most lovely of ways, don't you think? *wistful sigh*

I love the number of tidbits the author has left us throughout the series for the spin-offs she's planning. I want to read everyone's story! I'm very invested in the world and the character's she's created. I hope she continues to do whatever it is she's doing because she's doing it SO DAMN WELL!

As a conclusion to Danica and Samael's story, this was great. Sad (because we won't be getting any more of their story from their POV) but great. Some of the gang have gone their separate ways to get into their own shenanigans so at least we know it'll make for some awesome books. I truly hope Danica and Samael make small appearances in the future spin-offs.

Stark slayed me with this read!

Perfect ending to a fantastic series!

There is so much unexpectedness and loss in this read. I am going to leave it at that because I refuse to reveal any spoilers and ruin it for anyone.

MUST READ SERIES!

Happy reading,

My breaths sawed in and out of lungs that felt like they were filled with cement.
I threw my head back and roared.

Demon's Advocate pulled out all the stops. We got answers that went back to the first book and also ones in between. And we were given the most beautiful happily ever at the end of this story! Plus we were setup for Vas and Mer's book and her sister's spinoff. There is so much going on in this world and I'm so thankful we don't have to say goodbye, yet! But again, it was such a rough road to get to that happily ever after.
“Tell me then,” she eyed me. At least she was curious.
I smiled. But my hands were shaking with the effort it took not to touch her. “Well, witchling, the first thing you should know is that our love? It is the stuff of legends.”

This story was filled with lies and deceit. The extent that her Grandfather would go to, to get what he wanted. Wow. No lines existed for Lucifer. He stole her memories and put false ones in there instead. So I kept waiting for it all to click in place! And for Danica to punch and kill someone and for Samael to get them back. I couldn't wait until he would make the skies rain with the blood shed he would bring to their realm and to those that stood by Lucifer's side. But as the story unfolded, there were those characters that I didn't know where they stood. Whose side they belonged to. So even when I thought I knew where this book was going, there were still surprises that kept me on my toes and turning those pages faster and faster!
“You likely shouldn’t join this battle. You have younglings to protect.”
He grinned at me, his sharp teeth flashing in the light. “I’ve named you and Danica as godparents.”
I stared at him, speechless. His grin widened. “Yeah. She had the same reaction. Guess you better keep me alive.”

Hannah, Finvarra, Gary, and so many more from the previous books graced these pages. I loved it! It was so fabulous seeing everyone come together and play there part. But there were also moments with betrayal and scenes that made me scream and jump. And death bled through the pages. I wasn't prepared for all of those that died. I cried tears for those we lost. Even if the battle was epically vicious and I loved all of its twists and turns. But those last few pages. Sigh. This series took us on a beautiful journey filled with tons of heart and soul. I loved the morally grey love interest, the kickass female, the fond family, the sacrifices that were made. Love and friendship were such intricate elements in this well crafted series. And Stacia has definitely created a fan for life with this series. I'm excited to binge the rest of her books and read whatever she releases next!

Oh man, this series is so good. Final book in the series - though spin-offs are coming (and actually, a book 6 of this series but I consider that the first spin-off because the author note at the end says it is Vas's story) - and let me just say, the arc was incredibly satisfying, and everything paid off.

I've been stuck in an airport all day (grr, flight delays) and I can't even be that mad because this book just completely sucked me in. (Though trying to discretely cry in a public place kind of sucks, haha.)

Will definitely, definitely read more from this author.

What a way to finish this series with a bang!
Lucifer was a good villain and I felt so much anxiety for Danica while she was with him and the battle was very epic.
Definitely enjoyed the series overall, it had a great plot and I'm glad it made the relationship between Danica and Samael enjoyable.
The bonus chapter was the cherry on top and the perfect farewell to the couple.

A strong end to Samael and Danica’s story. While I didn’t love the separation of the two of them for the whole last book and majority of this book. The stakes were very high in this. It was very fast paced as we went through the motions of the end of the story, the major climactic end and the war that goes with it.

The last 25% of the book did feel a bit rushed but ultimately was a satisfying end. I think this series as a whole is decent and an easy read. It had issues with pacing. I think 5 books (for Samael & Danica’s story) was too much and it could’ve easily been condensed down to 3 books instead. I enjoyed the series. Maybe the whole series is like a 3⭐️. I liked the characters and enjoyed the overall story.

There is still book #6 to read which focuses on Vas & Meredith. I’m interested to read for sure…eventually. Theres also a spin-off series as 2 major couples stories have been left open. I plan to get through those also.

The problem with writing a story past it’s sell-by date is the writing gets stagnant and forced. And it was very obvious that the writing here was forced. It seemed like the author was doing a chore and not enjoying it.

I loath memory-loss stories, especially in the paranormal genre because they **ALWAYS** get their memories back and it’s a stupid plot device to draw out drama, to hit word count, and to tug on the readers’ heartstrings. (By re-iterating all the past scenes readers love). Well this reader’s heartstrings didn’t even move. This reader saw through the cheap ploy and lamented the urge to complete the story instead of DNFing.

Needless to say, bile still flooded Danica’s mouth and homegirl still hasn’t seen a doctor about GI issues.

VERY low 2 stars. I couldn't bring myself to rate it 1 star because I did finish it (but that was more because of the type of person I am than anything to do with the writing.)

This series was a slow burn for me. I wasn’t really sold after the first book but with each new installment, I got a little more attached to the various characters. And there are a lot of lovable ones. Especially the romance didn’t really grab me until the third book and even if I never really felt their chemistry, I did root for them. Overall, I really enjoyed this and these books got me out of a pretty nasty reading slump.

"I want to fall asleep next to you, and fight with you, and fuck you, and complain to my friends when you're being your usual, overly possessive self. I want to be yours. But only if you're mine, too."

I can't believe this is over. There are some seriously tense moments, tearful moments, hopeless moments, heartbreaking moments..

My emotions were all over the place. This was definitely THE most intense books in this series.

I was searching for a prn book with epic love, action and awesome storyline. This here people, is a prime example how to fucking write a masterpiece.

No overly descriptive, no dragging a toddler to a stroll aka filler book. It was freaking exceptional!

I sound like I'm Jehova and trying to sell front row ticket to end of the world event. But, honestly I became the biggest fan of this author.

How she played all small events into one explosive war. Who betrayed whom, who was swayed to the other side and so on. I mean, what the heck?

I cannot wait to read books about Vas, Kayla, Danicas sister and so on.

My only complaint is, it's miniature but I would love to see maybe a bit more relationship development(it had good amount, but having 5 books I would have wished one book to be more into deepening their romantic relationship- emotionally) . Bit more those quiet normal moments where they have this lull between warring and scheming and they are only two of them. I hope this author add little bit more romance in future books.

The first arc is over and it was a blast. I had a few doubts when I first started but I’m glad I kept up.

There was character development and plot progression throughout the 5 books and it made the conclusion so much more satisfying.

It’s a 4 because I felt the end of the arc came too quickly and there wasn’t enough development for Danica and Samael, mostly because they’re

There were definitely some things I knew would happen and I’m both happy and excited to see how those surprises continue.

Am epic ending to a great series.

I enjoyed this series as a whole but stand by what I had previously said. There are waaaaay too many characters. I felt like I should be noting down who is who by the end.

Really liked Danica here. Samael is as arrogant as ever. Wish we had more Kyla but I’m excited for the next spin-off where she will find her match in Fin.

Poor Vas. I really feel for that handsome demon. But as ever he had some funny one liners.

Nathaniel and Evie. Omg. Somebody get rid of Liam before I unalive him. Can’t stand triangles and obviously Evie has to be with Nathaniel. Get gone, pest.

Wow! Holy Hellfire!!! This book was so Outstanding I am Blown Away! Samael and Danika are so great together. Her memory loss and the things that she endures done to her by her grandfather, not breaking her, but making her more determined, are epic. I believe that I could write a page but I do not want to ruin this great story. The sheer drive that Danica has to do what she believes is right really brings about a story that speaks to my soul. Yes there is a HEA but it does not happen easily! I Love this Series!!! I recommend as a great Urban Fantasy Read!!!
I received an ARC from the Author and I am Leaving this Totally Honest Review because I Choose to and Feel that this is an Epic Story!!!

I really enjoy the series overall, but this one fell flat for me. I think the author missed the timing to end the story.
The plot was interesting, Lucifer as a villain was really good, but the characters felt lost.
Anyway, I’ll still gonna miss them, this was the last book about Samael and Danica, eventually I will read the last 3 books about Kyla, Evie and Vas

The general plot is fun I guess, but everything around it is pretty poorly written and tbh Danica is pretty incompetent as a character. She's a lot of anger and snark, but never really able to carry out a plan and just kind of stumbles into success and loyalty from everyone around her. Still entertaining though.

Okay so at the end, there is a final line of the prophecy that says something like "500 years of peace will happen" - i mean that's pretty specific, and I just kept thinking about whether this means that as soon as the 5oo years are up there will be a war? Should they start prepping for a war 500 years later??? Tbh this prophecy sounds more ominous than a celebration of peace.

The ending was pretty sad. Characters I liked got killed off.

I also didn't like how Lucifer stole her memories and she took a while to break the spell and get them back.

After fourth book, which was more like encyclopedia of Fae and I felt like I was reading parts of a lot of fairy tales, this was definitely better. Even I had to laugh when I reach to the part of the book where Bubaks were mentioned. I am from Eastern Europe, I know Bubaks :-D
The story was good and I was glad that I can read more of Samael´s POV. Unfortunately, it felt like author payed less attention to all details than in previous books.
Also Lucifer as character was... I don´t know, I was a bit confused and I expected more from him. His character was a bit shallow.
The way Danica convinced those royal to Lucifer to join Samael and his rebelion...I don´t know, I did not "eat" it. Once careful and doubtful character turned against Lucifer just because Danica told him something? Without suspects her as Lucifer´s own puppet? I know almost all person who lived in Underworld hated Lucifer because of the way he ruled, but this was weird. Rushed.
We got our happy ending. And it was nice.

4⭐️

This is my review for books 1-5! Definitely a solid 4 star series. I love that the world building included everything: fae, witches, demons etc. Super fun reading and not heavy at all.

I will say five books for this couple though was a little much. Especially considering the last two books they basically only communicated in their dreams lol. But Sameal and Danica were perfect together! Sameal was your typical jealous, possessive and obsessed demon. He was so vulnerable at times too and insecure it was adorable.

Overall I had a good time. I was expecting this to be a darker series but not at all. Think hallmark set in a fantasy world lol. I will definitely be reading the next few books in this universe. I want to see what happens with the remaining couple and its only 1-2 books per couple which will be so much better.

I don’t like a memory loss trope, so as I was already struggling with this series, it was really amplified here. I find I get so easily frustrated by amnesia that I never actually enjoy myself.

I was drawn to the friends that were locked away in the dungeons more than I was to Danica's struggles. I did, however, like the inclusion of Danica getting to meet her dad. But beyond that, I really couldn’t get invested in this story at all.

I’m not totally sad that this is the end of the line for Danica and Samael. I was quite ready to say goodbye at this point. I will read the sixth book because Mas is one of the only characters I’ve consistently enjoyed from book 1, but I really doubt that I’ll continue on with Evie’s story.

Amazing ending to this murder mystery, epic fantasy romance series

I was a little upset after the last book ended in a dramatic cliffhanger. That kind of stuff annoys the crap out of me, and is the reason why I still haven't read the last two books in the Throne of Glass series. It's too much after you've already gone through 4 or 5 books. But I can forgive the cliffhanger in book four because this book ended so beautifully. Everything came together in a satisfying happy ending. Definitely a read that was worth it.

This has been very exciting! 🤩
The whole of the Demons and all their friends etc take on Lucifer after everything he has done including kidnapping Danika.
The idea of having your memory removed and having new memories implanted at the beginning of this book is a new type of horror!
But the rest of the book was the same forward thinking that Danika has played throughout the series.
Glad almost everyone had a HEA. And I am sure there are plenty of books that could follow, as everyone had their own stories as well.
Narration as always was brilliant! 👏🏻

That was such a brilliant end to what has been one of the best new Urban Fantasy series I've read in a long time.

This series has everything: strong and loveable main character, sizzling chemistry in the romance with an excellent slow burn, secondary characters you love and lots of action.

I pretty much loved everything about this final book and was very impressed with the final battle.

I'm excited to read the various spin-off series that are now planned!

Blooming loved it!

I've blooming loved this series!
I came across this in a recommendation, and I'm so glad I gave it ago!
It's full of Demons, Witches, fae , wolves, goblins and anything else you can think of .
The characters are well written, and it's filled with snarky wit, action, and magic.
I've not read anything before from this author, but I definitely will be looking up more of her work! So glad I decided to read this series.

I'm so sad Samael and Danica's story is over, but it was an incredible end! The battle scene was so good and not too quick, perfect scenes for all the build up.

I just wish it didn't wrap up so quickly at the end, but I'm excited to read about Vas and Mere next.
