Ich weiß gar nicht wo ich anfangen soll. Eig liebe ich TT und ihre Bücher. Ich mochte auch Teil 1 sehr gerne und den 2. Teil mochte ich auch (wenn auch weniger gerne als 1). Aber der dritte? Ich fand's einfach schlecht iwie. Das Thema war ausgelutscht, es war gar nicht spannend und alles vermeintlich spannende was sie aufgedeckt haben fand ich ziemlich platt und lw. Es wirkte mehr als hätte TT die Idee gehabt einen Klimathriller zu schreiben und damit das klappt hat sie einfach iwelche wirren und unpassenden Fakten aneinandergereiht mit dem Versuch dem ganzen einen Sinn zu verleihen aber es war einfach nur mäh... es hat sich alles so im Kreis gedreht... Auch tabby's storyline und was es mit dem Kreis auf sich hat fand ich eher cringe und unnötig als spannend und sinngebend. Die Hayden Kapitel fand ich wirklich gut. Auch die Idee der Autorin die Klimakrise hier mit einzubringen. Aber auf drei Bücher verteilt mit den Erklärungen neue mehr schlecht als recht waren fand ich's doch einfach nur zäh und nervtötend. Ich bin froh es endlich beendet zu haben (wollte es zwischendurch abbrechen) und finde es gleichzeitig schade so enttäuscht zu sein von dem Buch... mit Abstand ihre schwächste Reihe.

Band 1 und 2 hatten mir gut gefallen, waren kurzweilig, spannend, die Thematik interessant. Aber die Richtung, die dann Band 3 einschlug, war mir zu viel des Guten. Zu unlogisch, zu einfach alles gelöst, zu merkwürdige Entwicklungen, was die Charaktere und deren Herkunft angeht. Schade.

Nach dem Beenden von Black Night Burning blieb bei mir vor allem ein Gefühl zurück: Erleichterung, dass es vorbei ist. Und das sagt leider schon alles. Obwohl ich Teri Terry grundsätzlich sehr schätze und ihre Bücher sonst oft gerne lese, ist diese Reihe für mich ein kompletter Fehlschlag gewesen – und Band 3 bildet dabei den enttäuschenden Tiefpunkt. Konsequenterweise habe ich die gesamte Reihe aussortiert, da ich keinerlei Bedürfnis habe, auch nur einen dieser Teile noch einmal in die Hand zu nehmen.
Handlung – ambitioniert, aber komplett verfehlt
Die Geschichte versucht, vieles auf einmal zu sein: Klimathriller, Sci-Fi, Zeitmanipulation, Genetik, geheime Organisationen, moralische Fragen zur Zukunft der Menschheit. Auf dem Papier klingt das spannend und relevant – in der Umsetzung ist es jedoch ein einziges Durcheinander. Statt Spannung aufzubauen, reiht das Buch lose Ideen und vermeintlich bedeutungsvolle Enthüllungen aneinander, die für mich weder emotional noch inhaltlich funktioniert haben.
Das größte Problem ist, dass sich die Handlung permanent im Kreis dreht. Es wird geredet, erklärt, spekuliert – und am Ende fühlt es sich an, als wäre man kaum vorangekommen. Was als große Offenbarung gedacht ist, wirkt oft banal, platt oder schlicht langweilig. Der Klimakrisen-Aspekt, den ich grundsätzlich sehr wichtig finde, wurde über drei Bücher hinweg immer wieder neu erklärt, ohne wirklich an Tiefe zu gewinnen. Statt eindringlich oder nachdenklich stimmend zu sein, empfand ich es zunehmend als zäh und ermüdend.
Es hatte für mich stark den Eindruck, als hätte die Autorin unbedingt einen Klimathriller schreiben wollen und dafür verschiedenste Fakten und Konzepte zusammengeworfen – in der Hoffnung, dass daraus automatisch eine stimmige Geschichte entsteht. Das ist für mich leider nicht gelungen.
Charaktere – verschenktes Potenzial
Besonders enttäuschend war Tabbys Handlung. Alles rund um den ominösen Kreis sollte offensichtlich mysteriös und bedeutungsvoll sein, wirkte auf mich aber eher unangenehm, unnötig und teilweise sogar peinlich. Diese Storyline hat mir keinerlei Mehrwert gegeben und fühlte sich wie ein Fremdkörper innerhalb der ohnehin schon überladenen Handlung an.
Die Figuren allgemein bleiben blass. Ihre Motivationen sind oft unklar oder wechseln je nach Bedarf der Handlung. Emotionale Bindung konnte ich zu fast niemandem aufbauen, was es zusätzlich schwer machte, am Ball zu bleiben.
Eine der wenigen positiven Ausnahmen waren die Hayden-Kapitel. Diese Abschnitte wirkten strukturierter, interessanter und besser geschrieben. Hier blitzte kurz auf, was aus der Geschichte hätte werden können – leider viel zu selten, um das Gesamtbild zu retten.
Plot Twist und Ende – guter Ansatz, schlechte Wirkung
Wie in vielen Teri-Terry-Büchern gibt es auch hier einen Plot Twist, der grundsätzlich gut durchdacht ist und eine klare Warnung vor den Gefahren von Zeitmanipulation und Zukunftsvorhersagen vermittelt. Das ist eine starke Idee – allerdings verpufft ihre Wirkung, weil sie in eine Geschichte eingebettet ist, die mich zu diesem Zeitpunkt längst verloren hatte.
Das Ende war für mich der letzte Sargnagel. Dass Tabby und Denzi nicht zusammen enden, empfand ich als schlichtweg frustrierend und unnötig. Die beabsichtigte Botschaft dahinter mag sinnvoll sein, emotional hat sie mich aber überhaupt nicht erreicht – vor allem im Vergleich zu den früheren Teilen der Reihe, die zumindest noch Ansätze von Spannung und Gefühl hatten.

Fazit – eine herbe Enttäuschung
Black Night Burning hat mich in keiner Hinsicht überzeugt. Trotz interessanter Themen fehlt es dem Buch an Fokus, Tiefe und erzählerischer Klarheit. Statt Spannung oder Erkenntnis blieb bei mir vor allem Langeweile, Frustration und das Gefühl, dass hier enormes Potenzial verschenkt wurde.
Ich habe selten eine Reihe erlebt, die sich für mich von Band zu Band so stark verschlechtert hat. Während Band 1 noch 2/5 Sterne bekam und Band 2 bereits auf 1/5 Sterne abrutschte, bestätigt Band 3 endgültig meinen Eindruck: Diese Reihe gehört für mich zu den schwächsten Werken der Autorin.
Ich bin enttäuscht, fast schon traurig darüber – aber auch froh, einen Schlussstrich ziehen zu können.

I definitely enjoyed this book a lot. The plot twist that comes in every Teri Terry book was quite good; it teaches the danger of messing with time and future sight. this leads into my second point, which is that I'm so glad this book didn't go balls deep into telling the future, as it always feel like a copout to me.

I have some serious complaints though which hold it back from being anything more than 3 star. The first thing is the quasi-love triangle this book has. Tabby spends most of her time with Denzi, not Jago. Jago's character is not developed anywhere near to the extent of Denzi's. Jago is only really around at the start of book 1, 2 and towards the end of 3. It feels like such a waste for Tabby to end up with him. At the same time though, I'm glad there wasn't a proper love triangle in this book, so there's that. Speaking of Denzi, I really don't like what happened to him and the rest of the chosen. They went to live in the sea together, which doesn't sound too bad. However, they seem to lose their humanity and are no longer really the same people. I was also dissatisfied by the conclusion of the whole climate plot. I remember at the end of book 3, everyone was saying how urgent the situation was, that they only had a few weeks to stop carbon emissions completely, or everything would collapse. Even so, several years later, it is revealed that despite this not happening and at least reduced amounts of carbon being emitted, everything is fine. I understand that it isn't really possible to stop carbon emissions completely as the book was saying should happen, but it really undermines the sense of emergency created in the book, even to the extent that the circle's plot becomes even stupider, cartoonish even.

Black Night Falling is the finale of the Circle Trilogy and thus concludes the story around Tabby and her friends. I probably like this book more than the first one but less than the second one; there’s more happening than in the first book, but the plot is in some parts too confusing, and some characters feel a bit too flat.

It’s especially the story around Tabby and Denzi that is a bit weird and confusing. Tabby is now with the Circle who live in a large underwater base where she tries to figure out their plans and her role in them. I didn’t trust the Circle from the beginning and was a bit disappointed when Tabby started to trust them after such a short period of time when they basically destroyed her whole life. I furthermore had the feeling that the author tried to mix up too many different ideas here, leading to them not really being worked out and my suspension of disbelief disappearing towards the end. In my opinion, this series should’ve focussed on the Circle as people connected to the water and trying to save the world with questionable methods and not this whole thing around the ancestors and looking into the past and the future.

In comparison, I liked the story around Hayden, a climate protestor we met in the last book before – though I couldn’t remember her lmao. This storyline is just more political and more realistic; hence I probably liked it more. The topics this plotline deals with are quite up to date: the question how far climate protests should and can go and the topic of violence against protestors. But I have to say that Hayden was sometimes quite the cliché activist and hence felt almost a bit comical, even though this was not the intention.

What I especially like about Terry’s books are the endings, and this ending was again so dramatic and kinda creepy. Sadly, the solution to the conflict itself was a bit too simple for my taste. Yes, the message is nice, but still a bit unrealistic that the solution would be so easy and happen so fast. We also get this epilogue where Denzi and Ariel visit Tabby for the first time in five years and it’s revealed that they got a child. I found this just a bit weird as well.

I don’t want to talk too extensively about Terry’s writing style since I already did so in previous reviews. But again, it bothered me that sometimes, there were dialogues across a whole page with nothing in-between. Often, the dialogues feel a bit too constructed for my taste as well. Compared to this, I really liked the new underwater setting we’re introduced to.

Likewise, I don’t have too much to say about the characters. In general, I liked the main cast. It was also nice that the characters had more introspection this time and reflected on all the things that happened to them and how it changed them. Like I’ve mentioned, I liked Hayden more than Tabby and Denzi. The problem with Denzi was that we only got his POV after the first half of the book, leading to him feeling more distanced than the other characters.

The whole Circle Trilogy was for sure an interesting read. It has an intriguing, in some parts quite weird story about a girl trying to find a place in this world where she belongs. Some parts of the story felt a bit drawn out, while others kept me on the edge of my seat and made me interested in figuring out the mystery. The strengths of the author are neither romance nor an interesting writing style, and it shows in this series sadly again.

Ich dachte zu Beginn, es handelte sich hier um eine Meerjungfrau-Story, stattdessen wurde die Geschichte aber eher zu einem Klimathriller oder wie auch immer man das nennen soll. Leider ist der Abschluß der Trilogie, im Vergleich zu den ersten beiden Teilen, für meinen Geschmack zu sehr ins Phantastische abgedriftet und hat sich unglaubwürdig entwickelt. Auch war mir Teri Terri diesmal ein bißchen zu mordlüstern für ein Jugendbuch. Dazu kam eine erzählerische Langatmigkeit, die mir bisher in ihren Romanen bisher noch gar nicht begegnet war. Aber gut, es muss ja nicht immer alles 5-Sterne-mega sein, hab's trotzdem gerne gelesen bzw. gehört.

Da wären wir auch gleich beim nächsten Kritikpunkt: ich hatte die Hörbuch-Version und mich hatte schon vorher gestört, dass sowohl die weibliche Hauptprotagonistin, als auch der männlich Ich-Erzähler bereits in Band 2 von der gleichen Frau gesprochen wurden. Es wäre besser gewesen, man hätte Denzi mit einer männlichen Stimme gesprochen, wie das auch in andere Produktionen meist üblich ist. In Band 3 kam nun aber noch eine zweite weibliche Ich-Erzählerin dazu, was das Durcheinander perfekt gemacht hat. Es wurde zwar stets an den Kapitelanfängen der Name der Person genannt, wie man gerade begleitete, aber ein Hörbuch legt man ja auch mittendrin manchmal zur Seite, uns so musste ich bei jedem neuen Einstieg erstmal überlegen, werde da gerade am Start war. Gleich drei Ich-Erzähler finde ich schon schriftlich too much, aber mit der gleichen Stimme gesprochen, war das für meinen Geschmack eine schlechte Entscheidung vom Rubikon-Audioverlag.

Achtung, jetzt ein Spoiler zum Epilog:

Was sollte der Quatsch mit der an den Haaren herbeigezogenen Elternschaft am Ende? Klar, in fünf Jahren kann viel passieren, im Real Life können sich auch Menschen irgendwann finden, die sich zuvor nicht mal mit dem Arsch angeguckt haben. Aber in einer Geschichte wirkt das falsch, wenn es keinerlei Zusammenhang mit dem vorher Geschehenen hat. Denzi und Arielle hatten zu keinem Zeitpunkt in den drei Bänden auch nur das geringste Interesse aneinander, wenn ich mich recht erinnere, nicht in der Schule und auch später nicht. Sie passen imho auch charakterlich nicht zusammen. Offenbar dienten sie der Autorin nur dem Zweck, deren Art nicht aussterben zu lassen. Als hätte Teri Terry wie Fina nachgeholfen. :P
Und wo wir gerade bei der Liebe sind, Romantik und Leidenschaft kommen für mich in den Terry-Romanen immer ein bißchen zu kurz, das ist schade. Gehört in dem Alter einfach dazu und würde auch noch mehr Spannung reinbringen. Aber das ist natürlich die Entscheidung der Autorin, wie sie es halten will.

Fazit: Die ersten beiden Bände waren wieder die typischen Pageturner, Band 3 zuviel Geschwurbel und Unglaubwürdiges statt aufregender Handlung. Ich fand aber gut, dass das umstrittene Klima-Thema recht differenziert betrachtet wurde, es wurde dem Leser/Zuhörer ermöglicht, sich eine eigene Meinung über das Für und Wider von Maßnahmen zu bilden.

Endlich ist es soweit: Finale. Lange habe ich darauf gewartet und ich wurde auch dieses Mal nicht enttäuscht. Auch wenn ich dieses Mal einen kleinen Kritikpunkt habe, so hat mich das Buch wieder richtig mitgerissen.

Fangen wir doch einfach gleich mal mit dem negativen an. Mich hat es beim Lesen sehr gestört das für einen sehr langen Abschnitt Tabby zur inaktiven Nebenfigur geworden ist. Ihre Rolle war hier in diesem Momenten zwar wichtig, aber wurde von einem anderen Charakter praktisch an die Wand gespielt. Auch die vielen Tote empfand ich als sinnlos, das hätte es einfach nicht gebraucht. Auch wie schnell manche Charaktere ihre Meinung geändert haben war etwas unschön.Aber das ist auch schon Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Denn ansonsten hat mir das Buch wieder sehr gut gefallen.

Tabby hat ihren Weg gemacht und es gab eine Menge an wirklichen Überraschungen. Das mit ihrer Sippe wurde nun aufgeklärt und auch was ihre Fähigkeiten betrifft. Hier hat sich der Kreis geschlossen und meine Fragen wurden beantwortet. Auch wenn es mir manches Mal wirklich die Sprache verschlagen hat. Ich will hier nicht Spoilern, aber wenn ich daran denke war der Kreis mit Con und Denzi geplant hatte. Bzw. was ihre Rolle hier gewesen wäre. Oh Gott.

Schön fand ich auch wie sich alles geklärt und erklärt hat. Wer auf welcher Seite stand und wieso. Das fand ich nochmal richtig super. Auch das dem wichtigen Thema Umweltschutz ein so großer Raum gegeben wurde ist klasse. Ich persönlich finde, das man die Message des Buches so ganz sicher nicht missverstehen kann. Und wenn es unterhaltend geschieht, dann sollte auch der letzte mal einen Blick ins Buch werfen und sich fragen, ob er nicht selbst was tun kann um etwas zu verbessern. Die Geschichte liefert dazu eine Menge Denkanstöße

Hier hat die Autorin jedenfalls alle Register gezogen um uns wachzurütteln. Es gibt Aktion, Mord, und vieles mehr. Das Buch ist sehr spannend zu lesen und ich bin Tabby und ihren Freunden gerne gefolgt und habe mit gefiebert. Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist gut zu lesen und man fliegt nur so durch die Seiten.

Ein tolles Buch mit einer sehr wichtigen Botschaft. Dazu tollen Charakteren die nicht immer nur Glück haben, es ist ein Augenöffner, denn nicht immer geht alles glatt und es gibt viele Opfer, aber diese machen die Geschichte letztendlich so aufrüttelnd, das man nachdenkt. Dabei steht nicht nur die Spannung im Vordergrund, sondern auch die Figuren und ihre Schicksale und natürlich unsere Umwelt. Und das geht uns alle an. Ich bin dankbar das ich dieses Buch lesen durfte und Tabby, Denzi und die anderen begleiten durfte.

Nachdem ich schon die ersten beiden Bände der Klima-Thriller Trilogie von Teri Terry gelesen habe, musste ich natürlich auch das Finale lesen.
Auch wenn sich dieses nicht als solches angefühlt hat.

Von Anfang an hatte ich ein sehr gespaltenes Verhältnis zu dieser Reihe. Was vor allem an dem Genre-Mix liegt, der sehr strange ist und mir nicht immer kompatibel erscheint.
Trotzdem wollte ich wissen, was hinter allem steckt.
Die Autorin schreibt unfassbar toll und auch sehr atmosphärisch, so dass ich förmlich durch die Seiten geflogen bin.
Auch hier erfährt man wieder verschiedene Perspektiven, was zwischenzeitlich zu einigen Irritationen führt.
Positiv, man erfährt vieles von den unterschiedlichen Charakteren und wie es mit Ihnen weitergeht. Ich kam jedoch immer wieder durcheinander.
Seit Band 1 hing ich eigentlich überwiegend an Hayden fest. Weil sie in meinen Augen eine ganz besondere Rolle innehat.
Auch hier hat sie mir wieder unfassbar gut gefallen.
Aber auch die übrigen Charaktere haben hier unfassbar viel zu erzählen.

Zwar erfährt man, was im Kreis vor sich geht. Mir persönlich war es jedoch nicht intensiv genug. Ich hatte das Gefühl, ich drehe mich ständig im Kreis und niemand möchte die Wahrheit sehen oder damit herausrücken.
Leider ist das überwiegend so.
Erst im letzten Drittel kam ordentlich Schwung rein und obwohl Teri Terry die Intention dahinter sehr gut transportiert, so habe ich das Gefühl, trotzdem nicht schlauer zu sein.
Ich verstehe durchaus, was sie im Sinne hat. Aber dieser gewaltige Prozess erklärt es nicht zwingend.
Das Umfeld wird leider auch etwas außen vor gelassen, was total schade ist. Denn alleine diese Reaktionen hätten so viel transportieren können.
Abseits dessen hat es mich wieder gut unterhalten, ebenso kamen auch Emotionen zum Zuge. Besonders der Background hat mich wirklich erschüttert und an so vielem zweifeln lassen.
Es gab durchaus einen schönen Abschluss. Aber in meinen Augen wäre noch so viel mehr möglich gewesen. Insgesamt keine schlechte Reihe, aber nicht ihre beste.

Fazit:
Mit „Black Night Falling“ geht es in die letzte Runde für die Klima-Thriller Trilogie von Teri Terry.
Sehr beängstigend, erschütternd und ausweglos.
Der dritte Band konnte in meinen Augen sein Potenzial nicht komplett entfalten.
Keine schlechte Reihe, aber nicht ihre beste.

Quite the ending to a fantastic trilogy. It was gripping, enrapturing, and thrilling. I could not put it down until I had read it all. We get the answers to so many problems and questions that had been raised throughout the story. It was everything that a reader could want.
Except… it was not the ending I wanted. While I do appreciate getting answers to all of my questions, the answers we got were seemingly incredibly random.

The entire trilogy has trained us to believe that the organization of the Circle is evil. But in this third book, suddenly Tabby joins it and enjoys being a part of it. I understand the sisterhood aspect that was played into, but I still don’t understand why we are suddenly supposed to be okay with being a part of the organization. Then, the very end happens. Tabby and Denzi split, the entire organization is dead except for the Chosen, and Tabby decides her life is better lived on land? I could go on and on about how paradoxical this seems to the themes that were fleshed out over and over again throughout the story, but to be short: this was not a satisfying ending.

In general, with such a fantastic storyline and both of the previous books receiving five-star ratings from me, I expected the best ending one could possibly conjure up. It did not, however, live up to my expectations, and in large part I’m left feeling confused.
With all that being said, my review probably seems quite harsh, but there is a reason I was unable to put the book down. Fantastic writing, gripping characters, and a thoroughly complex plot line that truly took me on a journey from start to finish. Teri Terry is the best author I’ve ever read and her ability to transport the reader with such vivid imaginative ideas is unmatched.
I would recommend this book/trilogy to others and I most definitely will be reading it again one day.

Bei diesem Hörbuch handelt es sich um den 3. und letzten Teil der Reihe. Das Hörbuch ist 9 Stunden und 52 Minuten lang und wird wieder von Nadine Zaddam vorgelesen, die bereits die beiden anderen Teile vorgelesen hat. Ihre Stimme passt sehr gut und auch ihre Art, die Geschichte vorzulesen hat mir richtig gut gefallen.

Die Handlung wird aus verschiedenen Perspektiven erzählt. Neben den bereits bekannten kommt dieses Mal noch Hayden dazu, an die ich mich aus den anderen Teilen nicht wirklich erinnern konnte, die aber jetzt eine sehr wichtige Rolle spielt.

In diesem Teil werden endlich alle Fragen beantworten. Mir persönlich hat die Auflösung zum Kreis nicht ganz so gut gefallen. Das war mir zu esoterisch und hat eigentlich gar nicht zum Rest der Geschichte gepasst. Immerhin ist das hier ein Klima-Thriller. Gerade dieses Träumen fand ich eher uninteressant und langweilig.

Die Charaktere haben sich gut entwickelt. Tabby war ja von Anfang an ein recht starker Charakter, was auch zum Ende hin so geblieben ist. Mit dem Ende bin ich auf jeden Fall zufrieden, die Autorin hat ihre Messages sehr gut platziert.

Insgesamt fand ich Teil 3 aber doch etwas schwächer als die anderen beiden Teile und vergebe 4 von 5 Punkte.

After finishing the third and final book I was left with wondering how I felt about the books on the whole.

It didn't really wow me, it's a hard review to write. On the one hand, the book explores global warming and other interesting concepts such as genetics and secret societies. The ideas wete interesting but I just couldn't help feeling that it lacked something. It dives into different ideas but doesn't fully explore. For me, the stories and flow of the book felt jumbled.

Some of the friendships / relationships were pretty good. The relationship between the mc and her mother/not mother Cate; and some creative ideas around mixing human and dolphin genes in hopes of adapting to a dying world.

(Try as I might, I couldn't get my head to accept that the mc decided to call her dolphin side "Aslan" - Aslan is Narnia forever for me and my story mind 😆)

I'm glad I stuck with it to its conclusion but with 3 books I was hoping for a bit more exploration of the authors super creative ideas.

Ich bin echt enttäuscht, vor allem vom Ende, weil die Reihe eigentlich so gut gestartet hat. :(
Die Entwicklung hat mir gar nicht gefallen. Es war alles irgendwie zu viel und die wechselnden Sichtweisen mochte ich in diesem Band nicht sehr gern. Haydens Erzählstrang fand ich meist nicht so spannend, weil ich mehr über die Geheimnisse des Kreises erfahren wollte. Allerdings gab es dort keine große Sache, die mich wirklich geschockt hat. Ich finde es generell komisch, wie sich alles im dritten Teil entwickelt hat, ich hatte wohl einfach andere Erwartungen. Besonders den Epilog fand ich komisch. Eine bestimmte Sache wurde zwar etwas eingeführt, aber eine andere kam dafür sehr überraschend und quasi aus dem Nichts. Das hat für mich gar keinen Sinn gemacht, weil nie auch nur etwas in der Art gesagt wurde. Aber gut, ändern kann man es nicht. Schade, dass das Potential nicht ausgeschöpft wurde.

Nach dem Ende von Band zwei war ich gespannt, was jetzt kommt. Zusammen mit Tabby erfahren wir einiges neues. Die anderen Bände waren sehr real gehalten, mit einem Hauch Fantasy. Das ist jetzt vorbei. Es wird sehr fantasievoll. Man erfährt endlich, was der Kreis ist. Tabbys Gene und deren Bedeutung erfährt man. Neben ihr erhalten auch andere Charaktere wieder mehr Raum, um die andere Seite zu zeigen. Beim Lesen bekommt man Lust darauf für Klima und Co. zu kämpfen. Es geht in diesem Band, um mehr als nur darum die Welt zu retten. Man fragt sich, ob es Tabby und ihre Freunde schaffen können. Das Ende ist einfach der Wahnsinn. Diese Wendung der Handlung habe ich nicht erwartet. So viel Boshaftigkeit, so viel Leid und Schmerz. Obgleich sie diese Geschichte so gewendet hat, war ich davon begeistert und passte für mich gut zusammen. Ein etwas anderes Ende als erwartet und doch irgendwie passend.

I loved this series. The characters are really good, and I enjoyed the fantasy element of the Sisters, with the twists and turns of the plot in each book, keeping the pace and suspense going. There was lots of emotion and a satisfying ending.

I, personally, loved this book.
It was a breathe of fresh air. A complete new storyline with unique plots. Although, I was really disappointed with the epilogue, the rest of the book I felt was perfect.

I think this is my favourite of the trilogy. It had different vibe with Hayden being one of the perspectives; I think she brought a political mood and sense into the book which was new and intriguing. The whole Circle plot was SO GOOD.

I might just be saying this because this is a new, creative version of a secret society book with supernatural abilities that are realistic because the science-y part of it, which I really enjoyed.

I.hated.the.epilogue. So.Goddammuch.
I get the reason behind why they were like... THAT. They returned to their natural state and that wasn't the problem. The problem was that it felt so... creepy, unnatural, and you ended the book feeling... uncomfortable or unsettled, even. Denzi and Tabby had a connection and all that time the books concentrated on their relationship? meant what? nothing? because it was all gone in one fell swoop. Those who lived underwater almost completely lost their humanity, not in the moral way as well, I mean the literal way. They spoke as if adopting a foreign language that was forgotten? like. what? If anything, they should remember English which they grew up with for 15 years o their life and their underwater language should feel foreign. It just gave me the ick. And Denzi coming back with Ariel and a BABY? WHAT?smh. It just didn't add up. like the author left all these feelings with loose ends. Unfinished. But managed to finish it with Tabby and Jago. Which, I completely see; I feel bad 4 Jago because he was just number 2 to Denzi when she realised Denzi wasn't coming back: Oh Well. Jago Wants Me, I Can Just Be With Him. I'll Grow Into It. THAT is what it felt like. There was a necessary Epilogue, but this one just DIDN'T DO IT.

Nonetheless, 4 stars :)

Loved the ending to this trilogy! The twist and the emotions were so well laid out. Teri Terry is such an amazing author, and is still one of my favourites. Would definitely recommend reading this series ✨️

I really liked the first two books in this series, but the third book just couldn't keep up for me.

About the characters. Tabby continued to be a very strong character for me and made a lot of smart choices. I liked her whole storyline. It was fitting that she joined the circle to stop climate change with them. I also liked that we got to see characters like Ariel or Kate again.
On Hayden. In itself, I liked her storyline in London. I liked her interactions with Apple or Jago. Her character has come a long way and accomplished a lot. Still, I didn't like her that much. Hayden was a little too pessimistic and boring for my taste.
You didn't get that much of Denzi in this book, but his cooperation with the circle and his protector instinct were well thought out. I like Denzi's character and his smart and curious nature, but I found his choices towards the end a shame.

About the plot. The whole storyline with climate change, while important, annoyed me a bit. The series started with a mystery and a new family and it ends with climate change? I thought that was a shame. Also, I disliked Denzi's decision at the end to go with Ariel and the others because I really liked him along with Tabby.

The writing style, as always, was more challenging and at times confusing. It didn't really need the three POVs. In theory, Denzis could have been dropped completely.

The series itself is good, but the ending didn't really take me off.

As someone who LOVED the Dark Matter trilogy (Contagion), this series just didn't do it me. The plot was great, loved the characters, but overall just a mid series in my opinion.
