The main character, a young woman of 31 years, receives a mysterious envelope with a flash drive in it. She's interested why she received it and what might be on the drive. Was it wrongly delivered or was it put in her letterbox with a certain intention? The story soon turns from sexual to utterly disgusting. There are some descriptions inside I never read before and the twist might be a bit surprising. Okay, I'm not a great snuff movie fan and this story was a bit too depraved in my opinion. Might be a great read for those who are advanced in perverted erotic horror. To me it was okay but nothing I put my special reading focus on.

What would you do if you get an unmarked USB flash drive in your mailbox?
Would you be curious enough to open it on your laptop?
What do you hope to find?

I’m sure there will be a lot of different replies to this one:

* The next lotto numbers?
* Porn?
* An overseas bank account’s details with millions of dollars?
* Porn?
* The first print of a movie that nobody else has seen?
* Porn?
* The secret recipe of KFC?
* Porn?
* Proof of aliens or a conspiracy?

We can go on and on...but in this case it turns out to be porn.

Are you a voyeur and does this turn you on?
What if things evolve into the kind of stuff you are not into (Yes, Brad, there are stuff out there like that, too)?

Well, sometimes curiosity makes you do strange things...

Good, solid story, well told.

Whoah! What a disturbing novella! I kept telling the narrator to stop what she was doing, but she paid me no heed. She continued viewing the decadent scenes on the flash drive she had anonymously received. No matter how much violence ensued, she would not stop watching. What did she think the end result would be? She had to find out. And so did I, as I could not put down my Kindle until the last word of the story. Does thus make me a voyeur, too? You tell me. Read this book. Now.

3.5 stars. Well, this was certainly a nasty way to start my Friday morning. Leanne, our lead, is a bit lonely and secluded, giving into temptation in a very strange way. But loneliness does some strange things to a person and in this case, it took her to a very dark and disturbing place. This was extremely gory and sexual, boasting tons of rape and body horror, giving full credence to the extreme horror subtitle. However, it hit all the right notes and left me queasy, uneasy, and, somehow, a bit hungry. I don't think this needed to be much longer, but I felt parts of the story really needed to simmer more with the reader. So, maybe just a tad more pages would have elevated this from good to very good. Still a great first read from DJ Doyle.

I’m privileged to call DJ Doyle a friend and had the awesome opportunity to read this little gem early. I begged, wheedled and tortured her until she relented and gave me a copy.

God help me! Behind that sweet butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth face, rosy cheeks and Irish charm is a twisted evil mind! And after a hiatus, she’s back! And I for one am a happy girl!

Now with her latest, Flash, all I’m gonna say is you know that saying curiosity killed the cat, or even, mind your own business? The story’s MC Leanne Whitfield should’ve taken heed of those and kept herself to herself.

Take heed, if you see a stranger’s flash drive, some things are best left well alone.

Five stars.

A whole new meaning to eating pu**y. Lol. If I ever get a flash in my mail box, I think I'll throw it away and catch a plane to somewhere far far away lol

Leanne discovers a flash drive from an unknown sender in her mail one morning. Unsurprisingly, the flash drive contains quite a few unsavory videos within it. Leanne knows she should tell the police, but human curiosity is a dangerous thing. Against her better judgement, she allows herself to get sucked into a world of depravity that no sane person should ever see.

This novelette was the definition of zero to a hundred real quick. I thought the initial setup of the plot seemed very cliche and predictable at first, but as things continue to quickly spiral downward into a pit of grotesque thrills, it pays off with a shockingly clever plot twist ending that leaves a lot of horrifying things up to the imagination. An impressive accomplishment for a horror story that's just under 30 pages.

I was not expecting that!

I haven't read much by this author but I have to say this was my favorite of hers.
So depraved and disgusting.
I have to admit the main character was kind of annoying, but once the story started to unfold it didn't matter because the focus was all about the content of the flash drive.

Nice, twisted short story for fans of all things 'nasty.' Moves at a swift pace and becomes more messed up with every turn of the page. Will definitely be reading more from this author.

Doyle drags you down the rabbit hole with a story that will get under your skin and make you squirm.

This story is brutal and sadistic. Do not eat before or during reading. But otherwise a highly recommended fast read with a gut punch ending.

Oh snap!

Honestly, did not see that coming. What a great and grotesque story! Short but hot and depraved. After all, we’re all a little twisted.

Leanne finds a flash drive in her mailbox and curiosity gets the best of her. Like a train wreck she keeps watching the videos on the drive. Each video gets darker and more brutal, yet she continues to watch. By the last video she wishes she had not messed with that drive at all. Great short that drops one hell of a twisted ending.

Disturbing

This is a disturbing but good read. A young woman working from home left a flash drive in her letter box, no name or details written on the envelope. Was it a case of wrong box or person? What was on this drive? She would soon find out then who knows what will happen? Well you will find out once you have read it. A great little story that has some disturbing thoughts. But definitely worth a read. Recommended.

Demented short story

A woman finds a flash drive with dirty videos on it. Her curiosity will not turn out well. Book was well written where you want to keep reading, but it ended like there should be a book 2. So many unanswered questions.

GORE!!!!

I really, really enjoyed this novella. It's not an appropriate bedtime read for grandma, but anyone who isn't easily offended should have a good time with this one. The story is beautifully written and has a genuinely disturbing twist I didn't see coming (that's high praise, I read far too much horror). Very recommended.
