I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.

I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!

I love Tana Stone’s Drexian Warriors series. Each story is full of adventure, each leading on to the next warrior and his “bride”. When aliens eventually invade us, I hope to hell they are Drexian 😂♥️

Wow, I read two books today! I haven't read this series since before the pandemic. I still remember hanging out in the psych lounge of my old college, eating Oreos, and reading this book. Reading this book kind of brought me back to the pre-pandemic days.

Though I've read other Sci-Fi romance lately (namely the Kindred series, the Drexian reminded me a lot of the Kindred men), I wanted to return to this series because I loved the idea of the wedding planning, Serge, Reina, and the Loveboat with its holographic scenes. Unfortunately, I didn't really get that whole wedding planning like the earlier books had. Instead, this book was more of an adventure with the characters repeatedly getting abducted and traveling through space. I still enjoyed it, fortunately.

Fav Quote: "You may not be sure about me, but I have always been sure about you. I know that you are mine. You will always be mine. And I will never stop trying to save you.”

(I know it's a little bittersweet. Hope had never been into the idea of marriage, so even though Kos was always sure about her, she wasn't always sure of him.)

The name Hope sort of annoyed me because I know a girl named Hope who is pretty annoying. (Or at least the girl I think I'm thinking of as Hope. I get confused with my friend's other friends.)

• Hope’s characterization didn’t land for me. Her abrasiveness and impulsivity often felt more grating than empowering. She made choices without considering consequences, which undermined her agency. I wanted more emotional depth and strategic resilience.

🎧 Narration Vibes

Jodie Bentley returns to narrate this dual POV adventure. While her voice is familiar and generally solid, the attempt at a New Zealand accent for Hope misses the mark. Instead of Kiwi authenticity, we get a jarring blend of cockney and Irish, which clashes with Hope’s already brash personality. It’s distracting and detracts from immersion—especially for listeners who love accents (I’m partial to Australian myself). The mismatch between character and voice made Hope harder to connect with.

📝 Final Thoughts

This entry in the Alien Bride Lottery series delivers on action and world-building but stumbles on emotional resonance and character likability. Kos shines as a loyal, capable hero, while Hope’s arc feels underdeveloped. The narration falters where it matters most—accent and tone—making it harder to root for a heroine who’s already difficult to love. Still, if you’re here for the interstellar drama and elite warrior rescues, there’s plenty to enjoy.

This is an impressive, action-packed Sci-fi alien romance & is definitely worth reading. The plot is well-written & full of unexpected, suspenseful situations with good scene descriptions & world building. The characters are well-developed with unique individual personalities
There is: a independent young human female (Hope) is definitely not too impressed by her situation when she is first abducted as a tribute bride, then by Ganthar space pirates & to just make her day even better she is rescued by Inferno Forces & a Drexian First Officer Warrior (Kos) who is under the impression that all he has to do is formalize his claim on her & claim her as his tribute bride but Hope is absolutely determined to escape & return to earth not realizing that she is placing them in terrible danger, Drexian Inferno Force Warriors, space pirates, evil Kronock aliens, a despicable Curator, various kinds of aliens, twists & turns, action, adventure, drama, intrigue, suspense, abduction, deceit, betrayal, enemies, danger, threats, violence, conflict, life-threatening incidents, some steam, compromises, love, contentment & a satisfying conclusion with a interesting ending that could be paving the way for the next book in this series. I enjoyed reading this Sci-Fi romance & would recommend it.

It was okay. I feel like some people may say that the main female charactet was too stubborn and stupid for her own good, and part of me agrees with that idea, but she was a pretty superficial character, so I didn't feel much for her. I disliked how Kos easily forgave her for everything and how we were left wondering about Kos's emotional state regarding certain aspects of his life at the end of the story.

Read it if you will, but you're not missing out on anything if you decided to pick up something else.

Great addition to this series! I absolutely adore Kos!!
Kos goes out with the Inferno Force to try to find his tribute bride and the rest of the human tributes that have disappeared.
Hope is kidnapped by pirates who have sold everyone but her. When to Drexian men come to save her she is happy but she only wants to get back to Earth. She doesn't want to be anyone's bride.
As Kos and Hope head to the outpost alone, she is stubborn and pulls a stupid move that gets them caught by a man named the "Collector".
The Collector has a huge ship filled with a menagerie of different aliens. They are all in rooms that are clear on three sides so they can be viewed by the rich. They must do whatever the viewers want or they will be punished.
Can they figure out a way to escape, or to stop the Collector? What about the rest of the humans and bride planners that were taken by the pirates? Will they ever be found?
I have to read more in this series to find out. So I guess I will have to patiently wait for the next book.

This novel was cleanly written and edited, with only a few typos that I caught in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building was quite vivid and enjoyable. The characterization was okay, but I do have to admit to being disappointed in the heroine and the direction that this story took. In the beginning of this story, I was very excited because I thought that this heroine was going to finally be the one to get back to Earth and blow the top off the human trafficking deal the Drexians have with Earth's governments. I thought she was going to be the heroine that was going to hold the Drexians to account for kidnapping unwilling human women, and then not giving them any choice in who they marry. However, that is not at all what happened in this story. Instead, the heroine is incompetent at escaping the Drexians, the hero and heroine are kidnapped by the Collector, and she is made to feel guilty for trying to escape her Drexian match and she spends all her time apologizing for trying to escape. Other adventures than ensue. I cannot adequately explain how let down and cheated I felt about this, after the story's very promising beginning. At one point in the story, the Collector says to the Drexian hero, something along the lines of, "What I am doing to aliens is really not that different to what you Drexians do to human women." I agree whole-heartedly with the Collector in this instance. I enjoyed the setup of this series, and have enjoyed most of the novels in the series quite a bit, but at this point in the series' history, the Drexians still have not been made to acknowledge how wrong what they are doing to human women really is, and at this point, I am not sure that the author is ever going to include that kind of important, necessary plot evolution in this series at all. It is a real shame.
The development of the romantic relationship between the hero and heroine was fairly natural and organic. The plot and pacing was exciting, with me quickly turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. This novel had low angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel uses the Kidnapped Bride trope, the Mars Needs Women trope and the Heroine Unwilling to Commit trope. The world building was four stars. The plot and pacing was two stars, because I was very disappointed in the direction the plot went in after a very promising beginning. The characterization was three stars. The development of the romantic relationship was four stars. The combined score, therefore, was three stars, because of how disappointed I was with the direction this story took. This novel has a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this novel. I recommend this story to readers who enjoy alien sci-fi romance novels. I am not buying myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors is based on the large muscled humanoid aliens with tan skin who’ve spent their lives battling the enemy aliens called the Kronock. There had been a secret treaty with Earth for the past 30 years where the Drexians have been granted permission to abduct human females in exchange for protection against the Kronock. The only conditions are that the females be unattached (with no one to shed light on their disappearance) and that the Drexians keep the secrecy of alien existence. The tribute brides are taken to a space station behind Saturn called “The Loveboat” where they are mated (married) to their Drexian warriors. The war with the Kronock is still ongoing.

Written in third person perspective, Stolen is technically book 8 in this series and follows Drexian Kos and his human mate Hope. Hope was a part of the new shipment of tribute brides, and before she had the chance to settle in, the Kronock attacked the boat and they had to evacuate. Their escape shuttle was overtaken by pirates before they could reach the rendezvous point. Kos is Captain Varden’s second in command on the boat. We met him on the last book when he assisted Varden and his mate during the evacuation and being stranded on an unknown muggy planet. Kos joins the recovery efforts after he is rescued and informed that his own tribute bride Hope was taken. He finds and rescued her from the pirates, only to be captured by another group when Hope tries to overtake the shuttle and return to Earth. The new abductors ran a zoo of sorts, with different kinds of alien prisoners expected to perform sexual acts for entertainment. This is where they fall for each other and Kos claimed Hope for the first time.

Admittedly, the dialogue “tell me your mine, and only mine,” and “this pussy belongs to only me,” made me hotter than anything else Tana has written. I guess I’m all about that dominating possessive caveman behavior. Too bad the Drexians have a bad habit of not letting their actions back up their words in public due to honor. That wasn’t much of a problem for Kos since he very much wanted his bride from the beginning, he just didn’t think he deserved one.

Like all the other books, this couple have their ups and downs, back and forths. She fights the claiming, then he fights the claiming. She fights her feelings and he is a typical male idiot that makes poor decisions. One forgives the other way too easily, then things work out in their favor and they live happily ever after.

I might need therapy, but that’s what books are for, right? Lol

I will continue the series since I do enjoy Tana Stone’s writing. Thankfully, the books aren’t painfully long. Although, I find it takes too long for the sexual encounters to take place and I find myself getting bored with the story at times. It might be better if the books were shorter.

PNR- hot, sexy, capable Drexian warrior matched to an independent, strong, sexy human female

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence. This includes kidnapping / abduction, spanking, assault, fighting, death, etc.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers. There are many interacting characters, which has led to a developed story universe and strong characters.

There are a few grammatical errors, but they are minimal and easily interpreted. I didn’t find this storyline as engaging as the rest. The rest of the series, I was able to escape reality for a little while. While I was reading this story, I found myself easily distracted, focused on the program my husband was watching even though the subject matter had no interest to me, watched the cat roll around on the floor, etc.

I don’t want to accidentally provide any spoilers, so I am being a little restrained about what made it so hard, but it was mainly just everything all together. From earth, to the Boat, to being evacuated with others from the Tribute bride program, ETC. Also, her attitude concerning Kos and being a mate, was out of sync with the rest of the story.

It would have different if there would have been a conversation about her past, impact to feelings, and what she wants going forward as the lynchpin to their future. Hopefully that is vague enough without being off putting. As I did enjoy the story, just believe it had a lot of potential, especially given the caliper of the series,

I enjoy this series, in spite of one of the plot elements that really irks me: Drexians have a treaty with Earth governments that allows them to take human brides to help restart the Drexian race — the governments have okayed this, but the women in question have not. They are tricked into joining a reality TV show and knocked unconscious for the purposes of transport to a Drexian ship. Full-on human trafficking-style.

These abducted women are given many luxuries to encourage them to wed their assigned Drexian partners, but they have no choice in leaving Earth. They can go live with other independent residents of the ship, build a life for themselves, but they can never go home. Even though the intentions are good, I’ve never felt the end justifies the means. Especially since these are governments who generally support civil liberties.

I love that the author allows these shades of grey to continue, even as the characters push against it.

So I really appreciated that Hope makes as big of a stink about being a tribute bride as she does. She really gives Kos a run for his money, as do the other intergalactic players who keep abducting people to sell into slavery. The contrast really helps to spell out how not right things are, even though the Drexians are generally the good guys.

This installment has a lot of interruptions, especially when space pirates, and an infamous collector of beings get involved. Change is coming, especially now that the Kronock have had their setbacks against invading Earth and defeating the Drexians. Very exciting stuff. Four stars.

Another good edition to the series

I enjoyed Kos and Hope’s alien-human, fated mates, enemies to lovers romance with a side of multiple kidnappings. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. The Drexians have been protecting Earth for decades from the evil Kronock race. In exchange, Earth governments provide tribute brides to the Drexians. Hope is a human who made her living traveling around the world as a travel blogger intentionally never getting attached. She is not happy about being taken as a tribute bride but before the dust has settled, she was kidnapped by space pirates, rescued by the Drexians and then captured again by a creepy alien collector. Kos is the first officer of the Boat and during the evacuation he helped the captain safely leave the Boat which is why he was not with Hope when she was evacuated. He is captured along with Hope. In addition to escaping the alien zoo, there is a lot of baggage unpacking for both Hope and Kos to do in order to get to their HEA. While I really liked Kos, Hope was much harder to connect to in this story. Her choices were selfish and self-centered and she has a hard time accepting responsibility for them. There was some redemption for her by the end. The story included sweet moments, steam, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, fated mates, coincidences, plot twists, painful pasts, missteps, and laughs. 3.75 stars.

Four 🌟's for Hope He Kos- I really liked Kos when introduced to him in the last book. He's the perfect specimen of the male Drexian warrior and he proves this throughout this entire story. This story is action packed from the very first pages. They fight scenes and let's just mention the leather kilt make me a happy woman. Lol However there were times I was not a fan of Hope the female lead. She was sassy and tough but managed to make decisions I wanted to shake her for that I found irritating. That being said she redeems herself at the end and all is well. I really do enjoy this series, but I find it hard to believe that these warriors and their leaders don't understand what it would be like to wake up somewhere strange be told your going to be the bride of an alien warrior and it you refuse you can't go home and you get to live on the full side of the space station. Hmm and then don't get the crazy reactions some of the brides have when they're good this.. I'm just saying there has got to be a better way... If asked if love to be a Drexian bride but I'd be missed it I woke up and was told what was going to happen to me. This is why they have so Many problems.. Kos is my hero in this book but the teaser at the end for captain of inferno forces is what I can't wait to read! Over all a good addition to the series and I recommend reading it. 💖

Hope didn't like the idea of being a tribute bride after her abduction from Earth then she was kidnapped by space pirates. Hope had never been into commitment as she has been a travel blogger on Earth but when she sees the Drexian who has come to save her she is more impressed than she will ever admit - after all he is gorgeous, muscular and seems willing to do anything in order to keep her safe. But she has no intention but to go back to Earth. Kos has always been a loyal and driven Drexian warrior and is currently the first officer of the space station. He has never spent much time with human women but wonders just how complicated they could be - after all after the rescue from the space pirates he just wants to get back to Drexian space and formalise his mating to her. What could go wrong?

I really felt sorry for Kos - his mate really was a selfish person who only cared and wanted to care for herself. She was very impulsive and just did what she wanted to do (and damn the consequences). Thank goodness Kos was determined to do whatever it took to get them free and she had started to trust him or I feared they would be stuff there forever. I really liked Kos - he was gorgeous, dependable and determined to protect Hope and any other life that he could. Well written, easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Kos goes to get his tribute bride that was kidnapped…I know, right, it was a hot mess dumpster fire. When they find her, she’s been kidnapped by pirates, and not all the kidnapped are among them. Obviously the plot thickens. So when Kos does finally get his bride back, what does she do but get them caught again. Ok, so I am just gonna say this, if you have been taken from your world, then kidnapped by space pirates to be sold, and your future husband saves you like the badass he is…why would you knock him out and tie him up when he is the pilot and still in the process of saving you? She really wasn’t my favorite tribute, and this little maneuver just made me really question her ability to reason and make logical decisions, because there is no way she could get back to Earth without the man she just knocked out and tied up…she can’t pilot a space ship…seriously. Well her bad decisions lands them in one hell of a hot mess with someone even worse than space pirates…I know, right. Thankfully she lands in the hot mess with her badass Drexian…that’s all I’m gonna say.

Safe read, with a couple that can really display the spanking heat, despite her being a major sarcastic pain in the booty that has to be saved multiple times. We get to see some our favorites from the series and gain some new favorites as well. Epilogue and a HEA.

Hope was awesome! FINALLY someone who is not okay with being kidnapped by aliens and told she had marry a stranger or be a reject and get kicked out of the fantasy suites- never to return home. Not to mention, live in isolation and not pursue men.... They purposely preyed on women with little to no family ties. Everyone is way too accepting of this and has frustrated me throughout the series.

I liked when she freed the slaves so they could overtake the pirates who captured them. It bothered me that the Drexians, who are supposedly honorable, didn't think anything of leaving the captives locked in their cages to be tortured or sold off. I liked how she talked back and didn't take crap.

Kos was pretty straight laced, wanted to be honorable, and felt obligated to always do his duty. In the last book and this one he was heroic but had flaws. He thought Hope releasing the prisoners was impulsive and rash but admired the sentiment. I am not okay with just leaving slaves who will most likely have horrible fates when you can do something about it.

I liked Brok a lot even though he was sexist. I look forward to his book and hope his bride is feisty and strong.

Loved this book! This series is one of my all time favorites. This book is a fast paced action-packed thrill ride.

This is Kos and Hope's story. Hope is a travel blogger from New Zealand who is adept at keeping people at a distance so she won't get hurt. She also is not keen on the idea of being a tribute bride (she had a major screaming fit when she first arrived on the Boat). When the Boat had to be evacuated after the attack, she and the other brides were kidnapped by Ganthar pirates. Kos is the first mate on the Boat and temporarily joins with Inferno Force to find his bride. On their way back to the relocation point they are kidnapped, attacked by the Kronok and almost die.

This author is amazing!!!! I LOVE all her books, each time I think they can't get any better another book comes out and I LOVE it!!! Her writing style and characters are AWESOME and AMAZING I can't get enough of them!!! This was Kos and Hope's story, they have plenty of action, drama, suspense, twists and turns with romance steam and hot alpha aliens and a chemistry and interaction that will grab you and pull you in keeping you reading right to the end. It always amazes me with each story how she has each couple with their own story and characteristics each one better and better. I can't wait to read more!!!

I enjoyed this story about Hope who is one of the women who is abducted as a tribute bride only then be abducted by Ganthar space pirates and Drexian First Officer Warrior Kos who rescue her from the pirates. Their adventure begins as they meet and clash only to fall in love. I liked Hope was a women of strong conflictions who was not bowled over to become a bride and Kos (alpha male) who takes one look at Hope and thinks he can claim her as his bride ended up learning the errors of his way. She wrote another fascinated story with twists and turns, the world building and the battles quite detail, along with titillating romantic scenes. Along with this story this has been a very enjoyable series to read and review via Booksprout with more villains cropping up. ARC

Hope was on the space station called "The Boat," destined to become a tribute bride for an alien warrior named Kos. She never expected to marry and lived a full and independent life traveling the world and refused to be married to anyone. If Hope had to choose, Kos was the perfect male but, all she wanted was to return to her life on Earth. From his first meeting withHope, Kos knew that only she would become his mate. I found this an entertaining book full of the adventures Hope and Kos experience as he endeavors to persuade his reluctant mate to marry him.

I do really like this series, but I fucking hate when the MFC is so unlikeable that it ruins the book for me. Hope was a selfish, stupid main character. I seriously want to know why she thought she could knock Kos out and actually pilot the shuttle back to earth. Not only does she not know how to fly, she doesn’t even know where earth is! I just lost all patience and couldn’t take her anymore. I skipped ahead to the epilogue so I could read the setup for the final book in this series.

Poor Kos, he got screwed by being matched with this idiot. And I liked him too, so I feel cheated out of reading his story. I don’t recommend this book, just skip ahead to the epilogue if you must.

Wow what a story!!

Me Stone never disappoints. She certainly put her Drexian warrior, Kos and his Tribute Bride, Hope, through the wars!! Both have issues which makes their relationship a difficult one. Kos secretly feels he doesn't deserve Hope and she feels no man or Drexian would stay the distance. So they both set themselves up to fail. But they forget their own strength of character and the fact they have to contend with enemies, including space pirates, the Collector as well as the Drexians' arch enemy, the Kronocks!!
A great read!! We are also introduced to the Magnificent Inferno Force who police the outer sectors!! Wow more hunky men!! Which will lead in to the next series of stories!!

Warrior alpha aliens whose lives are spent keeping the peace but for some it is in the front lines fighting an enemy who destroys worlds. Earth doesn’t know aliens exist except for the government. A deal was made, and women are given in exchange for protection.
This fun tale sees women and warriors come together on a space station that is supposed to be a fantasy place. Except it may be stuck in a time that was relevant years ago. It takes its name from the TV series The Love Boat. There is much laughter and action to keep you occupied whilst enjoying this read.
Journey along as they learn to navigate forging ahead to a union together and fighting the bad guys. I look forward to reading the rest of this sci fi romance series.

I loved this book and once again this author nailed her story line. This book is packed with action, adventure, betrayal, pride, determination, love, hurt, kidnapping, near death and much much more. The emotional impact of reading this book is wonderful and u will read til the end without stopping to see if Kos and Hope find their happily ever after.
The character descriptions of both main characters as well as others in the book was incredible. You truly felt u got to know the characters as u were reading the story.
I highly recommend reading this book and others in the series.

Here we have one more story in the Drexian warrior series of the tribute brides from earth. What amazes me with every book is the imagination this author has for all the different battles and scenarios that are described in these stories. This story here is no exception to that. This one is actually quite fantastic and I just loved reading it. The storyline makes good sense and the characters are OH so fabulous and some over the top, but that comes with the neccessary territory when writing stories about aliens... This story is just really really good and fun to read so five fantastic and very rare stars go to this story!

It always amazed me that when a human get abducted by aliens and realized that they are no longer ever seeing earth again, their first instinct is to overpower the Alien to try and get back to earth. Nevermind that they are in a spaceship with no idea how to fly the craft or understand any of the Alien language to read any instruction on how to get back to earth. Best part is many a times that impulse came when they are lightyears from earth and cannot even see earth! Which direction are they supposed to head towards?

Hope is not happy about being a Tribute bride. And when I say "not happy", I mean self-destructive, mean-spirited, no holds barred, not gonna do it. And then she's kidnapped by slavers.

Kos is surprised when he gets his chance for a bride, and when she's kidnapped, he goes with Inferno Force to get her back. Once that's over, they part ways with Inferno Force and head for the base, but Hope has a better idea. Just take her back to Earth. Things go downhill from there.

I liked the book, but I wanted to just slap Hope up side the head. Sure, she got taken from Earth against her will, but don't be an a-hole about it to the one person who is on your side!

This ends the Drexian Warrior Series of Tribute Brides. This has been a great series as each story is different then the story before or after. Hope is stolen from Earth and is on her way to her Drexian mate. Then she's taken again by Ganthar space pirates. Then she's rescued by her Warrior mate, Kos who has no idea about human women and especially ones that are stubborn and independent. Good well written story and Kos is a determined and worthy warrior who will show his devotion to his mate, maybe if she gives him a chance. Get your copy and read about Kos and Hope. Wow, I loved Kos and Hope's story so much!

Yes, Kos went to help rescue his tribute bride, and although she didn't make it easy at first because obviously it was a big shock to find out you have been taken by aliens, even if the aliens are big, stong and strapping. But I am happy that they were able to get things worked out between them and that they were able to get their HEA, especially because both of them deserved a little happy after everything they went through when they were growing up. Now I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see which Drexian warrior is next to get his HEA!
