Predestination is a christian supernatural thriller novel written by the author Elissa Anne, published in October 2021. It’s the third book in the Covenant-999 series. The narrative unfolds in South Australia in 2012, during Halloween, and revolves around the Coven-999’s mission to kickstart the apocalypse. The nine witches have dedicated their lives to this cause, honing their skills in the dark arts, leveraging demonic powers to leave a lasting, yet nearly impossible to trace impact on the globe. They’ve mastered abilities like speed, pain nullification, and even magnetism for their own benefit. Samantha Robertson has also dedicated her life to a similar path, focusing on spiritual growth and the development of supernatural powers, on par with those of a witch, but with a Christian twist. Detective Hunter is on the lookout for Sas to determine if her visions and premonitions are divinely inspired or if she’s a witch of the devil. After losing his first wife to the coven, he’s taken aback by his feelings for Sas and is genuinely terrified of losing her. He’s determined to protect the woman he’s falling in love with. This book is captivating, blending the struggle between good and evil into the realms of angels and demons. It weaves the lives of ordinary people caught in the midst of these colossal spiritual battles, highlighting their daily challenges and triumphs in the backdrop of enthralling romantic stories. The story delves into the confusion of everyday life, presented through a Christian lens where the clash of free will and predestination is explored. I was enthralled by the spiritual dynamics of the conflict, the interactions between demons and angels, humans, and God! It’s an enthralling tale that traces the history of the coven, the story of a unique family, and the fate of the world. Despite its length of over 500 pages, it’s a worthwhile read. Highly recommended from my side.
