Queenie: Part II

Rate this book
The highly anticipated sequel is finally here! Queenie is back along with the entire gang. Shayla and Whitney are in love, and everything is going well. When an unexpected transaction takes place, Cassidy is added to their household and becomes the daughter they've always wanted. She makes their household into a family, and the trio works to strengthen their relationships with each other and adjust to life as a happy unit, but a strain takes place when a new bartender starts working at Lula Belle’s. When a love affair begins, it sends everyone's lives into a tailspin of drama. Both Shayla and Whitney do everything they can to keep their love alive while outside forces try to pry them apart. Cassidy grows into a daring teenager and inserts herself into the game and right into the path of the daughter of the enemy. It all comes to a head and ends in chaos. Take a ride as love triangles form, drama ensues, and gunshots ring. Will everyone come out on the other end? Or will there be casualties of the many wars waging within this story?

**'Always be true to your storytelling personality. Don't try to modify your personality down with difficult or unnecessary words and also don't use defensive narratives around any of your characters with words -- words are suppose to be your friends when telling a story..'

Intriguing read!
A very good follow-up. A highly recommended on-going series!

A Worthy Read

What I liked most about this book is that it is devoid of the kinds of cliches that often plagues stories in this genre.

Whitney and Shayla are a great pair, their chemistry is real, their interactions, actions and motivations solid. Whitney’s lifestyle lends itself to over-the-top scenarios, but Wolf doesn’t rely on that. I like how grounded she keeps the story on the day to day life of a high rolling drug dealer and whatever drama does happen, doesn’t happen for shock value.

Wolf is a natural storyteller which in itself is a gift. She handles dialogue well which makes the characters feel real and plays up their personalities and I think that’s the strength of this book.

With that said, I don’t particularly like to critique on grammar on indie works, I know the struggle, but as in the first book, the writing style was a bit stiff overall, no nuance and the abundance of dialogue tags, lack of pronouns and head hopping affected what could’ve been a really enthralling read. I mention that for those who might initially be put off by it. I think despite the reading experience, it’s a story well told. Give me a great story over pretty prose any day.

I’m a sucker for flawed characters because we all are, and I was invested in their struggles. The supporting characters were for the most part consistent, and very interesting.

This book sticks with you. Queenie II had me thoroughly entertained, couldn’t put it down and that makes it worth the read. I’m definitely looking forward to Part III.

I am completely out of step with every other reviewers, but I really didn’t like this book. I presume it is because I am so old that these characters all seemed like not too bright, hormonal teenagers to me.
Before starting the book I was hoping that Whitney might develop into someone a bit more classy (maybe like Ali Vali’s Cain Casey), but actually she was just a cheating thug and by a third of the way through I really didn’t want to keep reading.

I devoured Queenie Part 2 by J. E. Wolf in just two days – it’s that gripping! The story is rooted in real-life challenges, and I was completely drawn in. Queenie’s character is fascinating; I loved seeing her take charge, but I found myself shouting at the pages when she made risky choices. This book delivers a unique sapphic storyline centered around a strong-willed, good-hearted drug dealer, adding layers of complexity and realness that make it hard to put down. If you’re into raw, life-inspired narratives with a twist, Queenie Part 2 is a must-read!

On my way to part 3!

Second Part was Great!

Even better than the first one and the story lines continued on and the characters grew. I couldn’t put the book down and completed it in a half a day! Now on to part 3!

The second book was definitely edited better than the first. The second book was enjoyable from a more third person perspective. I enjoyed we were able to get more of the emotions and thoughts of other characters. The ending left me ready for the third!

Great time jump from the last book, as well as the cliffhanger at the end. I will say I was tired of hearing certain words during certain situations. When the affair was exposed it seemed like “cheat” was in every other sentence.
